2. Skeletal system is all of the bones in the body
and the tissues such as tendons, ligaments and
cartilage that connect them.
Teeth are also considered part of your skeletal
system but they are not counted as bones.
Enamel is the strongest substance in your body.
3. Support
- The main job of the skeleton is to provide
support for our body. Without skeleton body
would collapse into a heap.
- Skeleton is strong but light. Without bones
human would be just a puddle of skin and guts
on the floor.
4. Protection
- It helps protect internal organs and fragile body
tissues. The brain, eyes, heart, lungs and spinal
cord are all protected by skeleton. A cranium
(skull) protects brain and eyes, the ribs protect
heart and lungs and vertebrae (spine,
backbones) protect spinal cord.
5. Movement
Bones provide the structure for muscles to
attach so that our bodies are able to move.
Tendons are tough inelastic bands that hold
attach muscle to bone.

7. Leukemia
The cause of most human leukemia is unknown. It is a kind of cancer in
which abnormal white blood cells multiply in an uncontrolled manner.
Leukemia affects the production of red blood cells.
Bursitis
Bursitis is a disorder that causes pain in the body's joints. It most
commonly affects the shoulder and hip joints. It is caused by an
inflammation of the bursa, small fluid-filled bags that act as lubricating
surfaces for muscles to move over bones.
Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a disease resulting in the loss of bone tissue. In
osteoporosis, the cancellous bone loses calcium, becomes thinner, and
may disappear altogether.
Sprains
A sprain is an injury to a ligament or to the tissue that covers a joint. A
sprain is usually extremely painful. The injured part often swells and
turns black and blue.

9. The skeletal system has two jobs:
1. protects our other important body parts.
2. gives us shape.
It is important to take care of our skeletal
system by:
1. Exercising
2. Playing carefully
3. Eat dairy foods
4. Sitting up straight
