character or narrator-this is the point of
view.

5. First Person-Point of View
*The narrator is a character in the story.
*Uses first person pronouns
(I, we, me, my, our)
*We learn the character’s thoughts,
feelings, actions and words.
I walked home from school today with my friends.
We stopped for candy. I had a Hershey. It's my favorite.
6. Third Person-Point of View
*The narrator is NOT a character in the
story.
*Uses third person pronouns
(he, she, her, they, them)
Juan plays on a baseball team. He loves to play
with his team. He has a game next week. His coach
thinks he's a good baseball player.
7. SUMMARY-Point of View
*Uses first person pronouns
(I, we, me, my, our)
*Uses third person pronouns
(he, she, her, they, them)
