2. Food inflation continues to accelerate The food inflation continued to accelerate in the year to September 11, maintaining expectations of another rate hike by the year end. 3. PM to launch UID scheme on Sep 29 Under the scheme, a 12-digit unique number will be provided to every citizen of the country. As per the plan, the number will be given to 100 million people by the end of the current financial year and cover around 600 million Indians by 2014.
