supervision.

hours of school and 150 direct supervision
hours; for the associate degree.

12. For those who only have their high school
diplomas, they must have a total of 6,000
working experience hours for the past ten
years, 270 hours of education and 300 direct
supervisions hours. There will also be
examinations that will be given that they
need to pass.

13. Certified Addiction Professional (CAP)- This is the
highest level of substance abuse counselor
certification. The requirements are bachelor’s degree
in any career field, completion of 6,000 hours of
working experience for the last 10 years, 300 hours of
education and 300 direct supervision hours. There
are exams that they need to pass, both written and
oral exams. For renewal of the certificate, it needs to
have continuing hours of education.
