Introduction:
The Word hypnotism is derived from the Greek word ‘HYPNO’ which means sleep. It is one of the most
remarkable phenomena known to man. It is as old as the human mind, as aged as the beginning of the
world. It is a science of making a person to relax and enjoy trance like state known as hypnosis.
Hypnotism is defined as a mental state resembling a sleep-like condition which is induced by a
suggestion by the hypnotist. The hypnotist. The hypnotic state is similar to the state of mind prior to
sleep. Every mentally healthy person is naturally susceptible and therefore, hypnotizable. The ability of
the person to concentrate his attention is the determining factor is gaining the attention of the person
for the purpose of directing his thoughts so that, they are concentrated on one idea.
What is hypnotism?
Hypnotism is a science of producing calm relaxed, mental state resembling sleep-like condition induced
by the suggestions of the hypnotist.
What is a hypnotic suggestion?
The hypnotic suggestion means a suggestion given to the person in hypnosis to follow the imagine
accordingly.
Is hypnotism a sleep?
No. The hypnotic state is not a sleep, not unconsciousness nor unconsciousness. During this state, the
subject’s subconscious mind will be functioning.
Is hypnotism connected to any Mantras or Tantras?
No, Hypnotism is purely a science. It is no way connected to Mantra, Tantra, Necromancy magic or
Black magic. Any person above 16 years age, with balanced mind can hypnotize others.

2. No. This is only an unjustified belief. In fact, the success of hypnotism depends upon a person who has
a strong will, because he will be in a position to imagine according to the suggestions of the hypnotist
and implement by eliminating other thoughts.
When the subject is hypnotized, can a hypnotist make him commit a crime?
No. During hypnosis, the subject will not do anything against his will even the hypnotist commands him
to do a crime; he will not do because basically it is not his nature. He will not behave either
extraordinarily or abnormally during the state. Nothing can be done under hypnosis against the
fundamental deep rooted moral principles of the hypnotized.
Is it true a person loses control during hypnosis?
On the contrary, as you go deeper into hypnosis, you will have easier access to the subconscious. Since
the sub-conscious controls such functions as pain management, healing and much more you will actually
have more control rather than less.

No, the hypnotist does not possess unusual, mysterious or remarkable powers to controls the minds of
the subjects. I personally taught hypnotism and self-hypnotism to teachers and managers.

Yes, during nineteenth century, hypnotism used as an aid to conduct minor and major operations.
What is Self-hypnosis?
Self-Hypnosis also known as auto-suggestion is nothing but a person hypnotizing himself. It is advised to
take hypnotic suggestions from an experienced hypnotist to achieve this stage. Famous Hindu fakirs,
used to meditate, slow the heartbeat, slow the body metabolism, eliminate pain etc. A student of self-
hypnosis can reshape his life, become more self-confident and motivated, remove fears and undesirable
habits and remark himself into the person he would truly like to be.
