 The camera I used to take the pictures for my magazine was a Nikon D3100 DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex). I
used a DSLR camera because the light captured to make a picture is converted into a digital image, this makes it a
lot easier to edit that having a SLR camera, because they store images in a roll of film which would be a lot harder
to edit digitally.
 I also used this camera specifically because the settings the camera had gave me a wide variety of choices how to
take a photo, also I used this specific camera because of the lens ii could used to capture the photo.
 The lens I used is the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm. I chose this lens it is capable of taking lowlight pictures very
well because it it capable of an aperture of f3.5-5.6. Also Having a bigger and wide lens which is capable of taking
pictures up to an aperture f11 helps me get accurate and sharp photos because there are more parts of light being
absorbed by the lens.
 I also took the photo using a shutter speed of 1/300th, this is because the room or the studio I had was very lit up by
the flash and the soft boxes around the room. To use the adjust the shutter speed all depends what’s light condition
is around the subject your going to take the picture of. The higher the shutter speed the darker the light condition it
has to be to get a perfect photo.
 For my content page I used my phone the HTC one m8s because it is a lot more compact to carry around and also
do great in low light conditions. The phone Camera is quipped with a main 13 MP camera with a f2.0 aperture, this
means is can catch a lot of light and will do amazing in low light conditions; also this has an extra duel camera on
the back to go with the primary camera, this has an extra 2MP and has laser focus, which makes the phone really
fast at focusing objects. When taking photos I used a panoramic feature where you can take around you and then
the software would gather it all into one image, this helped me because ii was able to take pictures which were
more clear to the reader.
lightings
 To create the prefect lightings I used a strobe light trigger called the Horseshoe Flash trigger. This is an attachment
which it placed on top of the DSLR camera. This shoots an IR (inferred) signal to the strobe lights to trigger. When
using it I had to set the shutter speed as 1/300th seconds to match the strobe speed. When the camera shutter is
triggered it will send a signal to the strobe lights which triggers them to flash.
 The strobe lights I used is the Hemisphere 300, this is a IR (inferred) triggered strobe flash. I used this because it
would be a lot easier for me to take pictures than setting it up a timer and manually taking photos. This light is also
very powerful, is also came with a light intensity setting so I can find a sweet spot for the perfect flash a lighting.
When using the flash I had to adjust the angle of the flash, this is because the glasses I wore started to show
reflections and glare to the camera, this then I had to move the flash facing sideward and lower the intensity.
 I also used soft boxes, soft boxes is a box with a special material which has a diffusing properties, this makes the
light a lot softer, which would give you a brighter picture but will not produce much glare onto my glasses. Doing
this would safe me a lot of time when editing the photograph and also it makes the subject on the photo more
contrasting then the background because the background would look darker.
 Making my background I had to have a backdrop. A backdrop is a blank wallpaper or a background where you can
take pictures in front of it, they are mostly the colour white when used for photography but green is also popular,
green is used for green screen effect where you can drop your one background easily. I used a backdrop because
it suited the environment I was in to take my photographs in the studio, this was made because the flash I had was
the colour white which was the same colour of the backdrop. Having this would make it easier for me to edit and
improve my photographs.
