    It was a good quarter
although slightly behind the
previous year which was an
     exceptional quarter.

     Lets take a look:

      January: -2%
      February: -3%
       March: -1%

 Obvious that not many
manufacturers exercised
  year end 2012 sales
management compared to
   the previous year.
Win


 Who had wins in the first
       quarter?

Yes the Detroit 3 started the
 year very strong although
    GM faded in March
       Chrysler: +4%
        Ford: +4%
         GM: -4%

      Acura: + 40%
       BMW: + 6%
      Infiniti: + 25%
      Jaguar: + 75%
    Land Rover: + 22%
     Porsche: + 25%
       VW: + 12%

Who had “fades” in the 1st
       quarter.

    Lets take a look:
      Audi: -10%
     Honda: -11%
     Nissan: -15%
     Toyota: -10%
     Volvo: - 26%

Honda and Toyota were an
  unexpected surprise .

   A strong first quarter by several manufacturers, especially the Detroit 3.
   GM faltered in March.
   Honda and Toyota are disappointing, we were expecting more.
   The Korean juggernaut is losing some momentum.
   There was no prolific sales management at the end of 2012, compared to 2011.
   Some manufacturers are already blinking, other will reassess their position.
   VW is surprisingly strong on the strength of the Jetta.
   The market for CUV’s is expanding.
   The love affair with full size pick ups is strong.
   Sales of CPO vehicles are increasing for some, and softening for others.
   As usual new models generate additional sales.
   Focused programs/incentives generate opportunistic sales.

Lets see how the strategies get executed in the 2nd quarter.

A strong first quarter by several manufacturers, especially the Detroit 3.  GM faltered in March.  Honda and Toyota are disappointing, we were expecting more.  The Korean juggernaut is losing some momentum.  There was no prolific sales management at the end of 2012, compared to 2011.  Some manufacturers are already blinking, other will reassess their position.  VW is surprisingly strong on the strength of the Jetta.  The market for CUV’s is expanding.  The love affair with full size pick ups is strong.  Sales of CPO vehicles are increasing for some, and softening for others.  As usual new models generate additional sales.  Focused programs/incentives generate opportunistic sales. Lets see how the strategies get executed in the 2nd quarter. Thank You
