One thing I’ve always liked is writing stories in my journal. This is a story that doesn’t end the way it should, but it’s a story that has to be told.
Most of us dream of growing up to be happy, healthy people with careers and friends, to fall in love, and pursue our passions and interests. We all share the desire to live in a safe, warm, and loving home.
What if I told you there was something you could do that would completely destroy your dreams? If it caused you to become a liar, a thief, a rapist, or a murderer, would you do it? Would you do it if you wound up homeless and completely devoid of moral character?
This is the choice my mother made.
She made it before she had me and before she had my two brothers, who were taken away from her.
My little brother Cody was only five and a half months old when he was rescued by Child Protective Services with broken bones all over his body.
While they were in foster care, my mom had another baby, my sister Amanda. After that, she had me.
Then she married my stepfather Johnny Lee. He was a drug dealer.
Soon, drugs became their way of life. They even figured a way to make them in our house.
When I was only twelve, my stepfather started giving me methamphetamine, an addictive, illegal drug.
He did this so I'd have sex with him.
I didn't want to have sex with my stepfather.
I didn't want to be a drug addict. But the more I reached out for help… the more I was left alone.
Finally, when I was 15 years old, I became desperate. So on May 8, 2003 I snuck out of the house.
Alone and afraid I tried to hide underneath Johnny's truck
But he found me.
He dragged me inside.
Then my mom and Johnny beat me up all night long and into the morning.
Finally, my parents injected me with enough methamphetamine to get me under control.
For good.
They spent three hours afterwards, cleaning up to make it look like this nightmare never happened.
But it did.
Meth, has been classified as the worlds most dangerous drug. A drug that is so hideous it caused parents to kill their child.
Meth does more than stimulate the brain. You have to increase the amount of meth intake to achieve the same effects from your initial dose - thus begins the downward spiral of addiction.
Sometimes in life you find yourself in a situation and see no easy way out. Look for a support group of adults, what you should realize is that many adult professionals are also parents and can help those in trouble, especially kids.
