Provided executive vision, leadership, and direction for $4.6B division of leading Fortune 500 enterprise focused
on design, manufacture, and sales of pace makers, defibulators, and connectivity to implanted devices.
2. Global IT Operations Director, 2003 to 2012
Foresaw, devised, and executed forward-looking business plans and technical solutions to meet high growth
operational demands and provision 7x24x365 support with limited resources for 10,500 globally dispersed users.
Held fiscal accountability for three budgets totaling $40M+. Oversaw mission critical systems and support services
for multiple US/OUS manufacturing, production, and test virtualization facilities, data centers, and connectivity
offerings. Selected, trained, developed, mentored, and evaluated, 80+ technical professionals to build agile, high-
performance team. Established and reported on performance metrics. Liaised with vendors; negotiated multi-
year/million-dollar contracts. Presented recommendations and solutions to executives.
Team Leadership
▪ Ensured maximum uptime for hundreds of thousands of international patients, doctors, clinics, and
hospitals, while spearheading rollout and 7X24 support for all CRMD sites and aspects of multi-tiered
Web-based, customer-facing medical device connectivity in 140+ countries across all continents.

▪ Slashed annual operation budget by more than $1.5M when faced with corporate challenges to cut back
spending.
▪ Decreased average per server cost from ~$26K to ~$4K for 2000+ plus file servers and averted
estimated $9M expenditure in data center procurement costs by winning approval to enact pioneering
“virtualize first” policy and carrying out plan to virtualize 90% of CRM Division.
▪ Lowered cost of connectivity application related telecom service from .08 to .024 cents/minute through
complex, lengthy, and collaborative vendor negotiations which produced exponential five-year savings
of $18M.

▪ Reduced data center growth, employee (FTE) per server workload, and global clustering costs while
boosting flexibility, speeding time-to-market, and elevating customer satisfaction by implementing multi-
site cloud roadmap and strategy.
▪ Improved team collaboration; accelerated time-to-market; cut travel expenses; and avoided production
outage costs in offshore manufacturing environments through companywide rollout of global tele-
presence solution.
▪ Piloted IT portion of implementation and support for ISO 14001 and 27001 certifications; ensured
compliance with FDA, HIPPA, SOX, and TUV standards by working closely with IT security and
regulatory compliance teams.

sq. ft.), Panang Malaysia (1,000,000 sq. ft.), and Sunnyvale California (300,000 sq. ft.).

CORIO, INC. – TECHNICAL SERVICES DIVISION, Los Angeles, CA (Acquired by IBM in 2005)
Designed, built, and managed numerous primary production and DR systems for use in high-transactional Web
environments for world’s largest application service provider (ASP) of ERP, HR, and CRM solutions.
Senior Manager – Data Center Operations Linux/Unix Systems Engineering, 1999 to 2003
Directed staff of 13 system engineers supporting seven data centers located nationwide. Controlled $15M annual
budget; liaised and negotiated with all vendors, including collocations facilities. Managed implementation and
provided operational support for all storage devices, SAN and NAS, Linux and Unix systems, as well as backup
operations. Supplied internal and external full service hosting services for many e-commerce applications and
multiple customer-facing Websites and B2B applications.
▪ Enabled United Nations to print checks live in 147 countries by architecting, planning, and deploying
infrastructure portions of largest PeopleSoft ERP system installation in world, including 157 servers for
primary production and 132 servers for disaster recovery (DR) site.
▪ Led team in completing DR infrastructure build outs for 80 companies; managed and implemented
architecture and production operations for more than 100 ERP systems, including Oracle, PeopleSoft,
and SAP production, test, and development environments supporting many well-known Global Fortune
