2. Can you spot a fake?
• Look closely at the following email
messages. Try to decide which are
legitimate and which are phishing for you to
go to a web site you are not expecting to.
4. Phishing
Notice the from email address.
It is not from FedEx.
If you hover over the link, you’ll
notice the destination does not
appear to be a FedEx URL.
6. Legit
The email address looks like it is from
YouTube. *Sometimes this can be faked.
If you hover over the link, you’ll
notice the destination appears
to go to a YouTube URL.
8. Phishing
Notice the from email address.
It is not from LinkedIn.
If you hover over the link, you’ll
notice the destination does not
appear to be a LinkedIn URL.
10. Phishing
Notice the from email address.
It is not from Nokia. (Look
after @.)
NEVER open an attached file when you don’t know the
person who sent it. There is a possibility it could be harmful
to your computer. Even though this looks like a Word
document, it may not be.
12. Legit
The email address looks like it is from
Mercury Magazines.
*Sometimes this can be faked.

15. Be Vigilant
• Even though an email looks legitimate it still
might be fake.
• Always take a close look at a website
before entering information. (Check the
URL.)
• Remember, reputable sites don’t send
emails asking for personal information.
