We often take daily conveniences in life for granted and overlook the fact that 1 in every 7 Canadians struggle with a disability.
I have been searching for a way to give back to something I am both passionate in and can relate to. When I was presented the opportunity to raise money for Easter Seals (an organization dedicated to fully enhancing the quality of life, self-esteem and self-determination of Canadians with disabilities), I was intrigued. On September 8th 2014, I will be rappelling down a 20 story building in efforts to raise money for a cause that is very dear to me.

BACKGROUND STORY
My cousin, Stasia, was diagnosed with autism at a very young age.
An unfortunate head injury as a baby has resulted in Stasia spending
the last 18 years in a mental and physical battle with herself. Today
Stasia cannnot speak, cannot walk, and cannot eat by herself but
holds dearly onto one thing: Hope. Everyday Stasia's family pushes her
to the limit through various classes and courses. At times it is painful
to see Stasia suffer but after each session, hope is renewed as we can
see her eyes glow with happiness as her motor skills slowly improve.
