2. • THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27th -we will be having our first SCHOOL DANCE since 2019! During the day, the Student Leadership class will be hosting a dance
in the afternoon for our Elementary Classes and Life Skills students. This dance will be completely FREE so that everybody can join in the fun.
• Later that evening, we’ll be having a Dance for secondary students between 7 and 10pm in the gym. This Halloween themed dance will have a
professional DJ, lights, and concessions. Cost for the dance is $5, and tickets can be purchased at the doors or during lunch in the lobby next week.
Student Cards are required for students to participate, and this first dance of the year is only open to current SCI secondary students (sorry, no guests).
• Friday, October 28th- SCI welcomes back our annual Haunted Halls at SCI with this year’s theme: A Night of Fright. This is a scare experience specifically
designed to be appropriate for all ages, and it runs from 6-8pm. Tickets are $2 per person, or $5 for a group of 4. BUT HOLD ON… If you purchase a ticket
for the Halloween Dance, you will get one free single admission ticket to the Halloween Haunt!

• Monday, October 31st -we encourage all staff and students to dress up for our Halloween Dress Up Day. This is a great way for all Spartans to show off
their Halloween Spirit and earn GRADE POINTS!

• Just a good reminder that Simcoe County District School Board schools are spaces where we value student inclusion and diversity every day of the
year. However, Halloween is a time when we need to remind our students that “Culture is not a costume!” #IAmNotACostume
• Though dressing up at Halloween is fun and exciting, depending upon the choice of costume we choose to wear, it also runs the risk of being offensive
to other cultures.
