This Monday is Halloween dress up day at the school. Students and staff are encouraged to dress in black, orange or costumes, but costumes must adhere to the dress code and not conceal identities or include weapon accessories. The document cautions that costumes should not culturally appropriate or offend others. It also announces that the House of Arts group will make decorations for a Haunted Halls event at lunch daily.

3. Halloween Dress Up Day
• This Monday is Halloween, and we’re
challenging all staff and students to dress up in
Black, Orange, or wear a costume to earn Grade
Points. Don’t forget that having this event is a
privilege, and for everyone to enjoy it we must
be considerate and respectful.. All costumes
should adhere to the Dress Code Guidelines
listed in the Student Handbook. In addition,
students may not wear costumes that conceal
their identity ( face covering masks).
• Students cannot bring any form of weapon
accessory.
• Finally, remember that “ Culture is not a
costume”. Through dressing up at Halloween is
fun and exciting, depending upon the choice of
costume we choose to wear, it also runs the risk
of being offensive to other cultures. It is
important not to inadvertently mimic culture by
culturally appropriating racial, religious or
ethnic groups.
