Antibacterial Efficacy of MTAD Final Rinse and Two Percent
Chlorhexidine Gel Medication in Teeth with Apical
Periodontitis: A Randomized Double-blinded Clinical Trial

Abstract
Introduction: Clinical assessment of the efficacy of
novel root canal disinfection protocols is an important
focus in endodontic research. This randomized double-

Basrani, DDS, PhD,* and Shimon Friedman, DMD* Abstract Introduction: Clinical assessment of the efficacy of novel root canal disinfection protocols is an important focus in endodontic research. This randomized double- T he causative role of bacteria in the pathogenesis of apical periodontitis (1) under- lines the goal of elimination of bacteria as a critical step in root canal therapy.
