Study: How Germany's Dax 30 companies use PMP, Scrum and Design Thinking

DSP-Partners conducted a study of the companies in Germany's Dax 30 stock index to analyse how wide the following 3 key tools for digital management are spread:
- Scrum
- Project Management Framework from PMI (PMP-Certification)
- Design Thinking

In order to do so, the XING-profiles of Dax 30 employees were analyzed for these 3 qualifications.

It turns out, that "Scrum" is the most common of the 3 qualifications, followed by "Project Management" and "Design Thinking". Five companies are in the Top 3 tables for these qualifications measured by qualification per 1,000 employees: SAP, Deutsche Börse, Deutsche Telekom, E.ON and BMW.

Dabei ergab sich die diese Reihenfolge beim Einsatz der Konzepte

- "Scrum" (agile Entwicklung) ist bei den Mitarbeitern die häufigste der drei Kompetenzen
- "Projektmanagement" folgt - obwohl bereits Jahrzehnte alt - auf Platz 2
- "Design Thinking" (Fokus: Produkt-/Servicesentwicklung) als sehr junges Konzept erreicht Platz 3

  2. 2.  DSP-Partners analysed the penetration of three Key Digital Management Competencies/Skills within the employees of the Dax 30 companies  Scrum  Project Management Framework from PMI (PMP-Certification)  Design Thinking Methodology  A survey of XING-profiles of the DAX 30 employees was used as a proxy to determine the penetration of the respective tools within the organisations (per Feb 2015)  A XING-search in the field „what I have to offer“ with the terms „PMP“, „Scrum“ and „Design Thinking“ was conducted to determine the employees‘ skills with regard to the respective Management frameworks  Remark:  Not all employees of the respective Dax 30 companies maintain a XING-profile and not everyone with a profile will list the respective qualification/skill  Still, the survey gives a good indication about the penetration of the three Key Digital Management Competencies About the Study/Methodology
