5. Main Differences contd....
• Fan cowl loss prevention system, controlled by EIU
• Fan cowl latches are modified.
• Opening of fan cowl latches in sequence 1,3,2
• Closing of fan cowl latches in sequence 2,3,1
• All fan cowl latches are electrically monitored.
• Latch no.1 is having additional flag, comes out when it open
• More than one latch is open on ground, FAN COWL message in ECAM
6. Core cowl
• Total 8 latches.
• Close panels are there for latches.
• Translating slèeve thrust reverser.
7. Oil servicing
• Oil servicing panel is on the RHS side of fan cowl
• Oil servicing should be done only after 5 minutes and before 30
minutes after shut down of engines.
• Do not fill upto full level.
• Maintain 17 qrts in each engine as per indication.
• Close the oil cap properly.
• To know the oil qty FADEC SWITCHES should be ON.
• Do not forget to put off FADEC switches.
8. FAN COWL OPENNING
• Fwd fan cowl rod is attached to the fan cowl on both sides with
telescopic rod,which enables easy openinig. Internal lock will lock the
telescopic rod once extended automatically.
• On the LHS fan cowl, small panel is there to inspect IDG oil level .
• after opening the dzus fasteners, access is there.
• Access for start valve manual opening and a interphone attachment
provision is there.
9. FAN COWL RHS
• Dedicated oil servicing panel is located for engine oil servicing
• At the bottom, fan cowl ventilation panel is available.
• Two EECs A & B and pressure connections are connected in PSS
• Dedicated EEC cooling fans there on top of EEC A
10. Cargo door opening
• Both fwd cargo door and rear cargo door opening procedure are
same.
• First lift the small flap to remove the lock of the bigger flap in the
• Handle
• Lift the handle to release the cargo door lock.
11. Additional indications in ECAM
• Bulk cargo indication in thee door page
• Two oxygen bottles and its pressure indications in door page.
• Packs , wing anti ice, nacelle antiice indications when they are in
operation.
12. Additional features
• Two EECs per engine. EEC A and EEC B
• Pressure sub system.
• Heavy duty starter and no separate oil for starter lubrication. Engine oil
itself will circulate and lubricate.
• In oil system, SACOC surface air cooled oil cooler is there additionally to
cool the oil.
• Oil debris monitoring system and debris unit are there to detect the
contamination of oil. Located on top of oil tank.
• In thrust reverser system, upper actuators are having LVDT for indication
purpose.
• Translating cowls are connected at top.
13. Special features contd.....
• Ground clearance is very less. (18 inches only)
• Seating capacity 150 economy and 12 business class
• No IFE
• Thru MCDU you can open the engine anti ice valve.
• Any one BMC can control the complete bleed system
• If one bleed is unserviceable, that side pack should not be run with
the otherside bleed due to the pre cooler design cannot withstand
the high temp and pressure.
14. Special Features contd....
• Two ignitors at 6 o’ clock Position
• Ignitor plugs at 5 & 7 positions
• In thrust reverser system, additionally ETL( Electrical Teritiary lock),
operated with the signal from SEC.
• All lights are of LED type.
15. Thrust reverser de-activation
• Open both fan cowls
• Remove the pin from the ISOLATION VALVE lever and move the lever
in fwd direction
• Put the pin stow pozition of the lever.
• Thrust reverser deactivated.
• Lockout bolt single on LHS Pin red colour, flexible to be put near the
ETL , which protrudes out, pilot can see and know that thrust reverser
is deactivated.
