• The new Schon Palace is another palace of
the Schon family in Sosnowiec. The palace

• The People's House is located in Sosnowiec, in the Ostrowy Górnicze district. The house was built

• The magnificent Dietl Palace is located in Sosnowiec at ul. Żeromski. Currently, the palace has been restored and thus
the palace surrounded by the park. Stefan Żermoski has become the most beautiful place in the city. As the original
elements of the furnishings have been preserved, the palace in Sosnowiec is considered a significant monument not
only in the region, but also in Poland as a whole. Today, various important events take place in the Dietl Palace.

Manor in
Sosnowiec
• The Mieroszewski Manor is located
in Sosnowiec Zagórze. The palace
was erected in 1777 on the site of an
earlier wooden larch mansion. The
palace used to be surrounded by a
park, and today the City Hospital No.
3 stands in its place. Currently, the
Mierowszewski Palace in Sosnowiec
houses the Art Conservation
Workshop.

14. Mysterious
Shrine in
Sosnowiec
• The Mysterious Shrine is located in Sosnowiec, in
the Zagórze district, next to the Church of St.
Joachim and the Mieroszewski manor. So far, it has
not been possible to precisely specify the date of
construction of the facility. It was probably founded
in the 19th century, but some believe it has been
standing here since the Middle Ages. Still others
say that it suddenly appeared in a mysterious way,
which does not seem so untrue, given that this
peculiar stone object does not fit in with the
surrounding area.

• Orthodox church of St. Wiera, Nadziei,
Luba and their mother Zofia stands near
the train station in Sosnowiec. The church
was consecrated in 1889, and the
invocation refers to the Roman martyrs

Sosnowiec
• Evangelical Church of St. Jana in
Sosnowiec is a historic building built
in 1880 on the initiative of the
owner H. Dietl at Żeromskiego
Street. Interestingly, the church was
built in one of the factory halls.

later. Today, the church, thanks to its
unusual shape, is one of the most
interesting churches in Sosnowiec,
and also in Zagłębie Dąbrowskie.

in Sosnowiec
• The house of the world-famous composer and genius
pianist - Władysław Szpilman, who was born in Sosnowiec,
exists here to this day and is located in the city center, at
Targowa Street.
• Władysław Szpilman was so famous and known all over the
world that, on the basis of a fragment of his biography from
World War II, Roman Polański made the famous film "The
Pianist".

21. Exotarium in Sosnowiec
• The exotarium in Sosnowiec is a very interesting facility, which slightly
resembles the palm house in Gliwice, but is smaller. The exotarium is
nicely located in the city park. lieutenant pilot Jan Fusiński (formerly
Kruczkowski), on the eastern side of ul. Kresowa, among the trees, by
the main avenue in the park. It is visible from a distance because it
has a characteristic, glass shape. In 2022, the entire Egzotarium is
rebuilt, it gains a new seat, which will be much more modern and
attractive!

• The ski slope in the Środula Park is an
interesting recreational area in Sosnowiec.
Whoever thinks that these are only
attractions for skiers is wrong! Absolutely
not, Park Środula is the youngest park in the
city and is situated between the two most
populous districts of the city - Środula and
Zagórze.

• Yes, a dinosaur!The popular in Sosnowiec is the
seat of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the
University of Silesia. It is the tallest building in
Sosnowiec, called a razor because of its shape.
The huge Dino from Sosnowiec, standing to the
side of Żyleta, is a predatory tyrannosaur with
sharp claws and equally sharp teeth that can be
clearly seen. Next to the dinosaur there is a
plate with the description and characteristics of
the tyrannosaur. Dinosaur in Sosnowiec,
however, is not scary, despite the fact that it is
several storeys high.
