The move to in-memory computing with the SAP HANA platform represents the
most significant innovation in enterprise applications in recent history — arguably a
larger leap forward for the SAP platform than the evolution from R/2 to R/3 — and
opens the door to unprecedented capabilities such as flexible, real-time reporting
built from line item data and establishing a solid foundations for
predictive analytics.
This innovation can be non-disruptive. SAP HANA is a proven platform with a large
and growing customer base amongst the world‘s largest companies — and sFin is
a natural extension of this proven technology.

Technical components of S/4 HANA Financial
• SAP is focusing its go-to market approach in Finance on providing end-to-end solutions addressing
the business challenges of CFOs and their teams based on the SAP HANA platform.
• In that respect SAP S/4 HANA Financial is for customers who want to gain the business benefits of
these solutions as a managed service in the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud with the simplicity and
elasticity of a cloud deployment.
• Customers who do not want to move to the Cloud yet can gain the same business benefit leveraging
the financials add-on on top of their Suite on HANA installation on premise.

• SAP and Deloitte are collaborating on the strategic direction of HANA and the go-
to market approach especially in the Finance domain

• As a part of the CuV validation project in Feb. 2014, the pre-configured Finance
Transformation Accelerator (FTA) was migrated to S/4 HANA Financial Package
1.0 on HANA, and CuV was completed successfully.
• Team will continue their efforts by agreeing to test and conduct validation for
FIORI wave 5 apps and the delta functionality between S/4 HANA Financial 1.0
and S/4 HANA Financial 1.2

of S/4 HANA Financial. Together with the use of latest
HANA technology, this enables seamless Top-Down and
Bottom-Up planning scenarios

Reporting processes in profitability and cost analysis are based
on line items with the advantage of SAP HANA database in-
memory capabilities, brining better and faster analytic
