3. Three Major Types of Material:
PET, TPU and Glass.
Glass is commonly known, but most of us don't know
what PET and TPU are.
Actually they are a kind of plastic. If you have ever
bought a new phone, you must have seen PET. A new
phone always comes with a film on the screen. It's
clear or matte. That's PET.
5. This is PET.
Actually PET film comes in rolls. We cut it into
shorter rolls according to the size we need.
Then put it in the machine to make the certain
size of screen film.
7. This is TPU.
As for TPU, it's exactly the same as PET, just
with different material.
The main difference between TPU and PET is that
PET is hard, while TPU is soft. So TPU film can
cover the edge of curve screen.
9. Since glass takes 80% of the market share, let's
pay more attention to glass.
Speaking of glass, it comes in parallel in a
wooden shelf.
This is Glass.
11. Actually there are quite a lot types of raw glass.
By source, there are Germany glass, American
glass, Japanese glass, Korea glass, as well as
Chinese glass.
This is Glass.
12. Germany glass- Schott:
Excellent features. But it's used more in home
appliance, optical fiber, telescope, etc. Honestly,
no suppliers uses Schott glass to make screen
protectors. If someone says so, he must be lying.
This is Glass.
13. Gorilla Glass from America:
A brand of specialized toughened glass developed
and manufactured by Corning, now in its fifth
generation, designed to be thin, light and
damage-resistant. Gorilla Glass is unique to
Corning; but close equivalents exist, including
Asahi Glass Co., Dragontrail and Schott AG
Xensation.

14. The alkali-aluminosilicate sheet
glass is used primarily as cover
glass for portable electronic
devices, including mobile
phones(iPhones, Samsung flagship
devices, Nokia N8, etc), portable
media players, portable computer
displays, and television screens.
This is Glass.
15. Gorilla glass gains its surface
strength, ability to contain
flaws, and crack-resistance by
being immersed in a
proprietary, hot potassium salt
ion-exchange bath. It's the best
glass in screen protector area.
This is Glass.
16. Featured with thickness of
0.4mm, some suppliers will use
Chinese glass with the same
thickness to confuse buyers. So
it's important to test if it's real
Gorilla glass or not by yourself.
This is Glass.
17. Due to high construction of
Gorilla glass, the cost is also
quite high. But it's really good if
you've ever tested or used. And
there are some customers are on
Gorilla glass. They'd like Gorilla
glass screen protector for their
phones, tablets, even camera's
screens.
This is Glass.
18. Besides these two, there's
another very important one is
Asahi Glass.
This is Glass.
19. Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. (旭硝子株式会社 Asahi
Garasu Kabushiki-gaisha), more
commonly known as AGC, is a Japanese
global glass manufacturing company,
headquartered in Tokyo. It is the largest
glass company in the world and one of
the core Mitsubishi companies.
This is Glass.
20. Actually in the screen protector area, Asahi glass
is the most reputed material with nice price,
comparing to Corning glass.
This is Glass.
21. As far as we know, among Chinese
manufactures, there are only 20% of them use
Asahi glass to make screen protectors. Many of
others say they do use Asahi, but actually they
are not.
This is Glass.
22. Reason: Comparing with Japanese Asahi glass,
Chinese glass or Korea glass obviously costs less.
In order to draw more attention from
customers, there's endless way to reduce the
cost from everywhere. Raw glass, AB glue, anti-
fingerprint oil, etc. And raw material of glass
attributes the most. That's why there are so
varied price levels in the market that you can
hardly to tell the good quality from bad quality.
This is Glass.
23. Tips:
1)Remember to ask a question when you select
companies:
Do you have labs or test rooms (to test quality)?
Usually factories with labs are the fair ones.
This is Glass.
24. Tips:
2)Look at the material of the
glass in the shelf before cutting.
This is Glass.
25. Tips:
There'll be paper with AGC
stamp (as well as RoHS certified).
You can ask for a video call or
check when you visit a factory.
This is Glass.
26. Tips:
3)Get samples from different suppliers.
Break them, the more pieces it gets, the more
likely of Asahi glass quality.
This is Glass.
27. Tips:
The left one is Chinese glass, the middle one is
Asahi glass, while the right one is brilliant Gorilla
glass.
This is Glass.
28. Speaking of Chinese glass, there are quite a few
glass companies famous domestically. The most
well-known are Nanbo(from Guangdong) and
Luobo(from Henan). Surely they cannot compete
with AGC no matter in technology or brand
affect. No mention other smaller glass
manufactures.
This is Glass.
29. Of course everyone has different target of the
market. I'm not saying how bad Chinese or Korea
glass it is. My point is that your money should be
spent on what it's worthy.
Make your money worth.
30. If you target in lower market such as Asia, it's
fair enough to reduce your cost by purchasing
lower-cost-products with a lower price. But if
your target is US or Europe, and when you are
trying to get better quality products with a
higher price, you need to find an honest and
reputed supplier to make sure your business is
safe.
Make your money worth.
31. You know what I mean. It's too horrible when you
work with people or company without any
honesty at all. All they want is getting your
money and then provide with poor quality
products. When you realize, they're already gone.
You cannot ask a lawyer or go to find them.
Make your money worth.
