4. Introduction
• Corona virus are a family of viruses that can
cause respiratory illness in humans. They are
called “CORONA” because of grown-like
spikes on the surface of the virus.
• Severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)
Middle east respiratory syndrome(MERS) and
the common cold are examples of corona
viruses that cause illness in humans.
• The new strain of coronavirus-SARS-COV-2
was first reported in Wuhan, China in
December 2019.It has since spread to every
country around the world.
5. • SARS-COV-19 the virus that causes
COVID-19 enters your body through your
mouth, nose or eyes.(Directly from the
airborne droplets or from the transfer of the
virus from your hands to your face). It then
travels to the back of your nasal passages
and mucus membrane in the back of your
throat.
• The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a
dramatic loss of human life worldwide and
presents an unprecedented challenge to
public health, food systems and the world of
work. The economic and social disruption
caused by the pandemic is devastating:
6. Impact on agriculture
The pandemic has been affecting the entire
food system and has laid bare its fragility.
Border closures, trade restrictions and
confinement measures have been preventing
farmers from accessing markets, including for
buying inputs and selling their produce, and
agricultural workers from harvesting crops, thus
disrupting domestic and international food supply
chains and reducing access to healthy, safe and
diverse diets.
The pandemic has decimated jobs and
placed millions of livelihoods at risk. As
breadwinners lose jobs, fall ill and die, the food
7. Food security
In the COVID-19 crisis food security, public
health, and employment and labour issues, in
particular workers’ health and safety, converge.
Adhering to workplace safety and health
practices and ensuring access to decent work
and the protection of labour rights in all
industries will be crucial in addressing the
human dimension of the crisis.
Immediate and
purposeful action to save lives and livelihoods
should include extending social protection
towards universal health coverage and income
8. Global situation
• The past year has been one of the toughest in
recent history, due to the harsh health, economic
and social impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.
• The economy of many low-income countries
have been hit. Gallup and Sachs analyze the
relationship between poverty and COVID-19.
• In developing countries, the COVID-19 crisis has
not affected everyone equally. Top economists
warn COVID-19 impacts will be severe and long
lasting for developing countries.
• Indian’s $2.9 trillion economy remains shattered
during the lockdown period, except for some
essential services and activities. There is a
9. • Countries dealing with existing humanitarian
crises or emergencies are particularly
exposed to the effects of COVID-19.
Responding swiftly to the pandemic, while
ensuring that humanitarian and recovery
assistance reaches those most in need, is
critical.
• Now is the time for global solidarity and
support, especially with the most vulnerable
in our societies, particularly in the emerging
and developing world. Only together can we
overcome the intertwined health and social
and economic impacts of the pandemic and
10. Effects on our country
• The pandemic accelerated changes in the way
government works and delivers services that
were already underway. The COVID-19
pandemic disrupted and displaced many long-
accepted practices in government management
and operations and almost overnight forced a
shift to online processes and digital
technologies. It also changed how and where
many municipal employees do their work. This
change has unlocked opportunities to build a
new civic future.
• The impact of corona virus pandemic on India
has been largely disruptive in terms of economic
11. • As per the official data released by the ministry
of statistics and program implementation, the
Indian economy contracted by 7.3% in the April-
June quarter of the 2021 fiscal year.
• This has been the worst decline ever observed
since the ministry had started compiling GDP
stats since 1996.
• The Government extended their help to migrant
workers who returned to their native places
during the second wave of Corona.
• India’s $2.9 trillion economy remains shuttered
during the lockdown period, except for some
essential services and activities. As shops,

13. Impact on students
• No one ever realized that such a microscopic
size organism can wreak such a havoc in the
entire world and be the reason for the
thousands of death. A long-lasting impact has
been created by the notorious COVID19 from
which it will many months to recover if not
years. The education industry has not been
left out and the impact COVID19 on student
life is visible.
• Whether it is the personal life of a student or
the environmental of school and colleges,
14. Conclusion
• It is heartbreaking to look back at the disastrous 2 years of
this pandemic , but still its glad to have everything get back to
their normal self.
• The corona virus disease continues to spread across the world
following a trajectory that is difficult to predict. The health ,
humanitarian and socio-economic policies adopted by
countries will determine the speed and strength of the
recovery.
• So let us all join our hands in the making of new era!!
