Conference attendance was great, but the mentorship is what makes
the program really special!
6. BEYOND THE SSP FELLOWSHIP
STEM FELLOWSHIP is a Canadian federal non-profit that provides
mentorship and experiential learning opportunities in data science and
scholarly writing to high school and undergraduate students.
STEM Fellowship Journal: Open-access-peer-review journal providing high
school and undergraduate students their first chance to publish their STEM
research.
“Official Mentoring” happens in various programs including: the editorial
process, Scholarly Writing Challenge, Big Data Challenge
“Unofficial Mentoring” happens among executives and editorial board.
7. EMERGING TRENDS IN EARLY CAREER
MENTORSHIP
National Student Network: Online Platform that provides an
opportunities database and mentorship by “National Young Leaders” in
various fields to their members. (free membership)
Many Organizations are introducing mentorship opportunities as part
of their core programs (i.e. SHAD Valley)
Both professional and peer mentoring
