STORE MANAGER 2002-2015, WAL-MART SUPER CENTER MELBOURNE, FL.
Professional leadership for high-volume retail store. Lead 300 to 400 hourly associates,
20-25 Hourly department managers, 11 to 13 Salaried Assistant managers, and four
Salaried Shift Managers. Lead operations, merchandising, resources, strategic planning,
product flow, budgeting and finance. Provide leadership in training for management and
associate development. Clearly communicate and define company initiatives to ensure
proper execution. Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer shopping
experience. Ensure compliance with local and state agencies including health department,
ATF and our own internal food inspections. Have had year over year positive sales growth
while reducing expenses and increasing profits. Involved with local community and
charities, Chamber of Commerce, Children's miracle network, Habitat for Humanity, and
Give Kids the world.
STORE MANAGER — 2000-2002
Responsibilities same as listed above. Provided financial leadership to qualify for associate
incentive award for the first time in six years.
CO-MANAGER — 1998-2000
Responsible for either Food or General merchandise area of the store as directed by the
store manager. Assisted Store Manager in all areas of operations, merchandise and human
resources. Personally recognized by regional executive management by developing and
implementing an innovative process to improve merchandise flow, increase in stock and
productivity while reducing inventory.
DISTRICT FOOD MERCHANDISER — 1996-1998
Develop and manage multiple operating units, North Florida, south Georgia, and Eastern
Alabama. Responsible to implement food operations into the new and existing retail
stores. Directly and indirectly involved in over 100 store openings. Directly supervised the
Food Division of 20-26 high volume Wal-Mart Super centers. Worked directly with the real
estate division, home-office merchandising, and operations to ensure stores were
prepared to meet local and company needs. Responsible for management staffing,
training, salaries and evaluations. Ensured stores met needs of demographics through
local procurement and proper utilization of merchandise layouts. Manage departmental
performance; sales, profit, and gross margin to ensure desired profit results. Monitored
proper food handling procedures, quality assurance and interrogation of food operations
into a Walmart store. Developed and implemented specific reports for field management
to better monitor, analyze and react to trends. Performed field training classes to certify
managers in Quality assurance standards and appropriate food handling procedures.

operations
