2. HELLO THERE.
Are you interested, curious and ready to work
with an upcoming new media rock star?
3. My name is Juan Beltran and I am a new media
designer and producer specializing in web and social
media. I hold an honours degree from the University of
Toronto, with a double major concentration in New
Media and Psychology.
Over the years, I’ve had the tremendous
opportunity to work with various brands including:
But if you’re
wondering why
should you work
with me...
6. I have a big passion for design and technology and the digital field
has allotted me with the perfect opportunity to pursue what I love.
Working in the new media industry has allowed me to challenge both
my creativity and conceptual thinking. It has enabled me to think
outside the box and become an effective problem solver.
7. I have a
strong knack
for all things
innovative
I started my own blog
Sprout Abound to document the
things I find interesting and to track
the latest trends in the design and
digital field.
9. I’m a geek at heart and
I’m constantly learning
something new
10. As someone who works in the field, I’m constantly trying to
adapt to changes to avoid being stagnant and falling behind
technological trends. I try to be multifaceted and hone my skills
and knowledge in more than one domain.
11. Thank God for
Twitter
...my ultimate source for news and learning.
12. Here’s a fun fact:
IÊM FOLLOWING OVER
Twitter-ers who work in the industry to some capacity from
designers and creative directors to developers and marketers. It
also helps to have over 1,500 follow me back!
And I try to get all the learning I can get as...
14. I take pride in being able to take a holistic approach to
things and taking a jab at what I’m doing from multiple
perspectives. I’m part designer, part coder, part
copywriter, part researcher and part marketer.
15. I have experience with
NEW MEDIA DESIGN
FRONT-END DEVELOPMENT
CREATIVE DIRECTION
SOCIAL MEDIA OUTREACH
COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT
SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
To name a few.
17. ...and it definitely
pays off to have
these skills
I’m currently developing Coconut Life, an online
editorial and community focused on the Philippine
culture and lifestyle. Over the next few months, I will be
developing the site from ideation and design to
marketing and content generation.
20. Digital, social media savvy women are becoming the next wave of
influencers on the online sphere. From fashionistas to mommy
bloggers , they are now holding the power and leverage yet to be
tapped by brands.
Me and Lena Almeida
www.listentolena.com
Award-winning blogger, Motorola’s Social BLAZR,
and one of Canada’s top influential digital women.
Yes, I’m connected to her!
22. Working at ShesConnected, I’ve learned the tactics and strategies
for finding the right channels to reach out these female influencers
and engaging them in conversations. I have experience creating
platforms for sparking and facilitating community engagement and
executing successful social media campaigns.
I’ve got the right
moves for swooning
them over...
23. ...like during the
Chicken Farmers of
Canada Twitter Party
I’ve helped develop and execute an hour
long Twitter Party. It allowed Chicken
Farmers of Canada and the #chicken
hashtag to trend on Twitter.
Check out the page and
platform I’ve designed & built!
www.chicken.ca/twitterparty
24. Within an hour span, the party had
over 100 participants
and Chicken Farmers of Canada were able to reach over
1 million impressions.
Sweet.
25. I’ve also helped
make magic with
Toshiba Canada
Toshiba Canada approached ShesConnected to
help them execute a brand ambassador program.
We selected digital women across Canada to
write a review on the Toshiba Tablet or TV.
26. In addition to liaising with
the women, I’ve designed
and developed a Facebook
tab to highlight and
showcase their posts.
27. Forget tech reviews! We were able to generate blog
posts, videos and conversations from the perspectives
of digital female influencers who embody the
everyday female
consumers
28. But the most
important thing
you should know
about me is that...
30. Chances are, I’m one of the nicest and most grounded guys
you’ll ever know. That’s got to be one of the most important
assets in a team-oriented environment and field that thrives
heavily on collaboration.
I’m very receptive to criticism too and do believe in learning
and working from other’s feedback.
“Juan’s my man!”

pretty darn well.
