2. Introduction
 Before Christopher Spiegel began his career
in public transit as the resident engineer in the
Metro Projects Management Office of the
Maryland Transit Administration, he spent two
summers interning at the Mystic Aquarium in
Mystic, Connecticut.

3. About the Mystic Aquarium
 Home of the Ocean Exploration Center, operated
by Titanic rediscoverer Dr. Robert Ballard, the
Aquarium also includes large exhibits for various
sea life. One major attraction is the beluga whale
exhibit, a habitat that features 20-foot observation
windows and platforms for viewing from above.
For closer interaction, visitors can sign up for
encounter programs, which allow them to venture
into the water to meet the inhabitants. These
programs permit close access to beluga
whales, African penguins, and other creatures.

4. Conclusion
 Rescue serves as a vital component of the
aquarium’s mission. It is part of a network of
organizations that care for stranded
species, such as sea turtles and other
mammals. It also provides instruction on what
to do and not do when finding rescue animals.
