INTRODUCTION
Since 1992 SPAN STRUCTURES is positioned at Lucknow the Capital of Uttar
Pradesh, SPAN STRUCTURES has successfully emerged as a leading structural
engineering consulting firm running under the guidance of Er. Omkar Verma.
In simple terms, SPAN STRUCTURES provides credible services in
the field of Structural Engineering to governmental entities, architects,
engineers, contractors, developers, industries and institutions. In reality, we
are a lot more than that. We believe that we have assembled the fine group of
engineers, technicians and support personnel in the industry. We are
passionate about architecture and the application of engineering to the built
environment. We work nationally on projects of all scales and types, and we
bring that passion to every single one. We believe that we have a responsibility
to be active citizens in our profession and our communities. And we believe
that we have more fun doing our job than just about anyone else.
We have worked in various states of India, so we can handle
projects all over India & even abroad. We have designed projects for a diverse
range of site conditions, code mandates, client requirements and architectural

THE ART OF ENGINEERING
It's the human effort to imitate, supplement and counteract the work of nature. More than just methods and principles of physics, it
includes intuitive knowledge that cannot be learned solely by study. It's applied art. Structural engineering theory is based upon
physical laws and empirical knowledge of the structural performance of different landscapes and materials. Structural engineering
design utilizes a relatively small number of basic structural elements to build up structural systems that can be very complex. Structural
engineers are responsible for making creative and efficient use of funds, structural elements and materials to achieve these goals.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
The art of Structural Engineering moves beyond simply framing a structure or laying out a site. It integrates engineering concepts with
architectural visions to produce projects that are seamless. Projects that flow. Projects that delight. Structural Engineering is a field of
engineering dealing with the analysis and design of structures that support vertical loads as well as horizontal forces. Structural
engineering is usually considered a specialty within civil engineering, but it can also be studied in its own right. Structural engineers
are most commonly involved in the design of buildings and large non-building structures but they can also be involved in the design of
machinery, equipment, vehicles or any item where structural integrity affects the item’s function or safety. Structural engineers must
ensure their designs satisfy given design criteria on safety (e.g. Structures must not collapse without due warning) or serviceability and
performance (e.g. building sway must not cause discomfort to the occupants). Buildings are made to endure massive loads as well as
changing climate and natural disasters.

Our services are more than just a profession – they are an extension of who we are. SPAN STRUCTURES provides structural
engineering services to a wide array of clients viz. architects, contractors, builders, developers, government entities, industries and
institutions. We have extensive expertise in the design of new buildings as well as in the renovation and repair of existing structures.
Our firm's experience in building design ranges from family houses to Multistory buildings of any type & Industrial structure. We
understand that what we do matters - to our clients, to ourselves, to our profession and to our communities. We undertake original and
proof consultancy, design practices conforming to standards and specified codes, adopt latest techniques and softwares for analysis
and design.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe every structure to be different and treat them accordingly. The idea is to arrive at such a system, which gives most safe and
economical system maintaining the concept of the Architect. We believe that structural engineering is not just following the codes of
practices but applying fundamental laws of nature while analyzing. We undertake original and proof consultancy, design practices
conforming to standards and specified codes, adopt latest techniques and softwares for analysis and design. Last but not the least ‘Time
Is the Essence of our work. Structural Engineering is an area of primary interest and covers analysis and design of various types of
structures. Based on Geotechnical investigation report from the site, various alternatives of foundation system are considered along
with their feasibility studies and economy. Preliminary cost studies are carried out for various feasible options comparing them all on
one scale. This helps in choosing the most viable alternate for the project. Sometimes amalgamation of different alternatives has to be
done in order to eliminate the drawbacks in the finally adopted alternative. The whole process indicates the highly interactive design
approach adopted by us. During this entire exercise of catering to the standard codes of practices, fundamentals of engineering science
and seeking the optimal solution, client’s requirements are kept. But stability of structure and economy is our main aim.

Er. Omkar Verma has completed B.Tech in Civil Engineering from reputed Regional
Engineering College (NIT-W) Warangal, A.P. in 1990 and then M.Tech with Honors in
structural engineering, After his degree, he worked under few renowned structural
engineers. However, since last 20 years, he has been working as an independent
structural designer operating from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. His major
projects (more than 500) includes a large list of projects like Institutional Buildings,
Office Buildings, Hospitals, Hotels, Sports Complexes, Housings Apartments and
Group Housing, Recreational Buildings, Industrial & Water proof structures and more
than 450 Family Houses in all over state and neighboring states.
