2.  Games developers are involved in the creation
and production of games for personal
computers, games consoles, social/online
games, arcade games, tablets, mobile phones
and other hand held devices. Their work
involves either design (including art and
animation) or programming.

3.  The Level Editor defines and creates
interactive architecture for a segment of a
game, including the landscape, buildings and
objects. They also develop the gameplay for
the level, which includes the challenges that
the characters face and the actions they must
take to overcome them. The architecture
helps to define those challenges by
presenting obstacles, places to hide, tests of
skill, and other elements to explore and
interact with.

4.  The Lead Artist (also known as Art Director or
Creative Manager) is responsible for the
overall look of the game. Working with the
Game Designer and Lead Programmer, the
Lead Artist devises the game’s visual style
and directs the production of all visual
material throughout the game’s development.

5.  The Technical Artist acts as a bridge between
the Artists and Programmers working on a
game. They ensure art assets can be easily
integrated into a game without sacrificing
either the overall artistic vision or exceeding
the technical limits of the chosen platform.

6.  Game artists develop 2-dimensional or 3-
dimensional animated characters, environments
and other graphics for video games. They may be
responsible for concept development and often
create storyboards to present their ideas. In
addition to creating art for the game itself, game
artists may also contribute to logo design,
marketing materials and new artwork for already
existing games. Game artists must be proficient
at multi-tasking since it is common for game
artists to work on multiple projects at once.

7.  Video game animation is a specialty within the
computer animation field that focuses on game
design and interactive aspects of animation
uniquely associated with video gaming. Video
game animators combine art and technology to
create interactive animated images and
environments for video games. In addition to
traditional computer animation techniques,
artists employ storytelling skills in their game
designs, as well as movie production skills, such
as lighting, texture and movement.

8.  A sound engineer or designer working in the
computer and video game industry is charged
with making the game and its characters come to
life. By adding background music, as well as
giving the characters a voice, computer and video
games become an entertainment experience, not
just a hobby. The sound engineer/designer also
adds other kinds of sounds to the game. He or
she is responsible for making the game more
interesting by making sure that explosions, car
chases, crowd noises, and weather conditions
like storms or rain are included in the game.
