2. Fashion- Children’s Wear/school uniform.
• Advert - spring collection for children:
- Fun
- Active
- Movement
- During the whole of the advert I want the children to be doing
something, for example jumping rather than just walking
towards the camera like majority of fashion adverts.
- Some ideas of what the children can do in the advert: jumping,
having a pillow fit, throwing & catching a ball, flicking paint
ect. All these movements I would like to edit in slow motion.
My Idea…
3. • My target audience will also be mothers or fathers because my
clothing will have to appeal to them because they will be the
ones that pay for the clothing so they will have to like the
collection too. The age group I will be targeting is 20-40 year
olds.
• My advert also has to be interesting for children as it is
children's wear. Therefore I need it to be appealing to them in
order for them to want to wear the clothes. This is one of the
reasons why I want my video to be children having fun rather
than just walking towards the camera because I believe that
children will be interested in watching my advert and therefore
make them want to buy the clothing.
Target audience
4. • For both of the adverts I am making I will be advertising
children’s wear. The first advert will be girls children
wear and the second advert will be boys children wear.
• I want to advertise a spring collection because my video
is going to have a fun atmosphere I feel that bright colour
clothing helps to portray and support the fun feeling.
The clothing I will
advertise
5. • No speaking apart from when there is a voice over at the end of the
advert saying the name of the clothing range. For example:
Boohoo.com
• Advert moves at a fast speed
• 20-30 seconds long
• Straight cuts from one scene to another or one location to another
• Long shots of the models to allow the audience to see the full outfit.
• Bright & colourful clothing
• Fun, happy atmosphere
• Up beat music
• Walking towards the camera
• Bright, sunny, natural lighting
• Location setting
Conventions of a spring
fashion advert.
6. • 20-30 seconds long
• Up beat music
• Natural, bright lighting
• Straight cuts from one scene to another or one location to
another.
• Fast speed
• Long shots of full outfit
Conventions I will follow
7. • I am going to develop the convention ‘fun atmosphere’
this is because I want to create the same atmosphere but
in a different way to how existing fashion adverts do. Due
to the fact that my clothing range is for children my
fashion advert will be very different to normal fashion
adverts. Normally to create a fun atmosphere the music
would be very up beat and the models would be shown
smiling & laughing ect, however I want to develop this
and make the children actually do physical activities that
are fun.
Conventions I will develop
8. • Instead of the models just walking towards the camera
like majority of the models do in fashion adverts, I want
to have the children in my advert doing something or
making a specific movement that I can then edit in slow
motion, I am challenging this convention because It will
appeal more to my target audience (children).
• I may also challenge the convention of a location setting
due to the fact that when I will be filming it will be winter
therefore I will be filming in the studio so I can create a
spring atmosphere.
Conventions I will
challenge
9. • Another Idea I have for my advert is similar to the M&S Back
to school advert.
• This advert will still be for children’s wear however instead of
it being very active its more simple and direct to the camera as
the model is standing talking to the camera.
• I feel this is very effective because it gets the target audiences
attention as the model is directly talking to them.
• I could have a model standing on a location shoot, like a hall
way in the M&S advert speaking to the camera about my
clothing range.
