 Microsoft exchange is mail server, calendaring and
contact management software developed by
Microsoft.
 By the time exchange servers has been seen several
version upgrades viz 5.5, 2000, 2003, 2007 and
2010.
 Exchange 2013 is the latest version upgrades
released by Microsoft.

8. Managed Stores
• It is the name given to newly rewritten
information store process.
• It consist of 2 processes
Microsoft.Exchange.Store.Service.exe and
Microsoft.Exchange.Store.Worker.exe
• Separate worker process for every mailbox
database operation.

 New in-built feature in exchange 2013.
 Help you protect your sensitive data and inform
users of internal compliance policies.
 Detecting sensitive information along with
traditional message classification

 Modern public folders do away with the multiple-
master replication model of legacy public folders.
 Modern public folders live in mailbox databases
and both high availability and disaster recovery are
provided by the existing database availability group
(DAG) implementation

• Scaled up storage capacity (can support up to 8
TB disks)
• Enhanced search and indexing features.
• Multiple databases on single disk supported.
