• SNCB-Holding owns, builds and operates Belgium’s 37 largest stations and
offers trans-modal solutions and services:
• For example, SNCB-Holding recently completely renovated Antwerp-Central,
Brussels-Central, Liège-Guillemins and plans to renew Mons, Ghent, Ostend,
Mechelen...
• In its stations, SNCB Holding offers trans-mobility solutions (connexions with taxis,
shared cars Cambio, public transport, shared cycles…). It also offers retails
services through convenience retail shops and catering facilities.
• As part of the development of a global mobility strategy and in order to
optimize the use of its available station space, SNCB-Holding is currently
evaluating a business-to-business proposition in 12 important stations:
Brussels-Central, Brussels South, Brussels-North, Ghent, Leuven, Antwerp-
Central, Liege, Mons, Charleroi, Brugge, Namur, Mechelen.

meeting rooms” for which a sound business case has to be prepared.
• Your mission, should you accept it, is to present a business case
• …empowering a strong concept around temporary working places and
meeting rooms,
• …with a creative and extended service proposition,
• …based on your own market research & analysis, a product definition
and a financial analysis.
• Potential partnerships are a street that can be walked through.
• For your analysis you may assume a monthly rental price of 100€/m².

24. The Business Case (3 of 3)
• Your output, a 10 to 20 slides Powerpoint presentation, will be assessed on
the following criteria:
• 30% creativity and business proposition
• 30% marketing soundness
• 30% financial analysis & detailing of the assumptions
• 10% packaging of your output.
• This output has to be delivered by February 15 2012.
• Results will be proclaimed during the Solvay Business Game. This exercise
will be valued in the total Game results.
