• How it Works
- Tables are organized into Compression Units (CUs)
- Within a CU, data is organized by column instead of by row
• Column organization brings similar values close together, enhancing
compression
- Queries run directly on HCC-compressed data
• Only the columns and rows being returned to the client are decompressed in
memory
• Query processing takes place on the database server with ZFS Storage
