We were not really sure on what to do in
In the recent Japan Fukushima Earthquake,
order to raise funds for the Project Japan.
the people were devastated as many of
them had lost their precious family Some of the ideas that were generated
were, having a car wash, or selling Japan
members and some, might even have the
merchandises. We also thought of selling
thought of not living anymore. Therefore,
what we wanted to do was to raise money T-shirts or caps. We almost decided on
for those people, and help them in some of holding a food fair for the school, but in
the end, we felt that this would be too
the problems they are facing. Also,
time consuming, and a little hectic as well.
hopefully to change their mindsets that
they can still live their lives on. Thus, we were in need of a better idea!
The school proposes to produce a collage of encouraging messages to Japan. Student leaders from the
Student Council and NE ambassadors will make a presentation to the school to raise awareness on
Japanâs current situation following the earthquake during one of the schoolâs assembly sessions.
Thereafter, the student leaders will encourage students to make $2 donations to Japan which would
enable them to adopt a space in the collage of wishes/encouraging messages to Japan. The students
can use their creativity to decorate the collage of wishes to Japan. The completed piece of the collage
will be placed in the school study corner to remind students to be empathetic and also to encourage
student to be Caring Clementeens who are active and global citizens. After the whole event, we
managed to raise a total sum of $1163! That is quite a big achievement for us! We had around 5
students in total in charge of the taskforce, and had the rest of the councilors actively helping them to
raise more money.. The money were handed over to Red cross (Singapore) to pass to the Japan
