Banking Index and Top Gainers are JP Associate (up 19.72%), Bharat Heavy Electrical
Ltd. (up 17.28%), NMDC Ltd. (up 14.22%), Axis Bank (up 14.18%), Tata power co. (up
13.77%), PNB Bank (up 13.16%) & Jindal Steel & Power (up 13.06%). Technically Nifty
may expected to up from this point or a short term range bound this week; Nifty this
week may range 6150-6350.
On the economic front,
The rupee's new-found strength will likely dissipate soon on
concerns the U.S. Federal Reserve will reduce its stimulus programme next year, giving
a boost to the dollar, a Reuters poll showed on Thursday. A recovery in the rupee is
giving Finance Minister P. Chidambaram rare relief in his battle against a threatened
credit rating downgrade to junk status by reducing pressure on the government's subsidy
bill.
On the Global front, The U.S. economy grew faster than initially estimated in the third
quarter but weak demand and a pile-up in business inventories buoyed the case for the
Federal Reserve to keep up its bond-buying stimulus for now.Foreign direct investment
into emerging markets should decline next year because of persistent concerns about
the global economy, the World Bank's political risk insurance arm said on Thursday.
