Apple Iphone
Introduction: With the very high demand in the market place for a musical device called the IPod, it s
no surprise that the IPhone, a hybrid of a phone and music device that it will be a big hit in the market
place. This highly anticipated electronic trend setter had thousands of people waiting in line at the
apple store in New York, and all over the country trying to get their hands on this iPhone. The IPod
combined with a Phone, gives birth to this amazing product which has the following features: a 3.5
inch touch screen (the largest of all smart phones), Wi Fi connectivity, the most usage time of all smart
phones, i.e. talk time, internet use, or video playback, and many more impressive characteristics. The

Emily Grierson Illness
William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily, Miss Emily Grierson
lives a tragic secluded life, isolate from the world, in her house. However, upon further inspection, it
appears that she has a psychological disorder which affects her relationships with her family and the
community preventing her from making a true, healthy connection with the outside world. Her illness
is present in all aspects of communication within the community and even within herself. It is
perpetuated by the refusal of the community to talk about it and the help she receives from authorities
to cloak the symptoms altogether.
Miss Emily Grierson comes from an old, traditional, aristocratic southern family. She lives her life

Yang compares Emily s life to another protagonist in Faulkner s story. According to Yang, The truth is
that she poisons Homer secretly and resolutely as she protects her dignity and reputation, and at the
same time she confines her lover in her room from everlasting to everlasting, although it is only a dead
body that lies in bed (Yang, 2013). From this passage Yang implies Emily knows what she is she
doing. She resulted to violence because Homer took her dignity. Pingping s argument is that Emily is
conscious is her behavior. She is aware of the reasons she bought the arsenic, used it on Homer, and
then isolated herself from the town so as not to be caught in a crime of murder. There is no way to
cure her, as Emily is in no way mentally

The Role Of Exchange Rate Policy Essay
Title: The Role of Exchange Rate Policy
Economists use models that illustrates the relationships between economic variables to understand real
world problems. Macroeconomics and international economics can be messy if we do not think
through a model. On the other hand, as stated by George Box, all models are wrong but some of them
are useful. As I understand, there are two important points in the question:
1) What forces determine the movements in the exchange rate?
2) What kind of exchange rate policy can help the U.S. to recover from the recession?
I first describe the forces behind the movements in the exchange rate through macroeconomic model.
I, then, use these models to suggest an exchange rate policy for the US economy that can help its
transition from the Great Recession.
Section title: Exchange Rate and Open Economy
Exchange rate is the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency. Basically, it is the price
of some foreign currency in terms of a home currency. Economist define the long run as the period in
which prices are flexible, and the short run as the period in which prices are sticky. Therefore, the
forces behind the exchange rate movements should be examined both in the long run and short run.
Following a standard text book description, I start with the long run period.

Reflection Paper On Rock Of Ages
On 21 July 2017, I attended the Rock of Ages jukebox musical, which incorporated popular 1980 s
rock music with the love story of an upcoming rock star and a hopeful actress. Apart from the cast,
dancers and ensemble, there was Ben Walley on keyboard, Phil Simpson on electric guitar, Greg
Fryhling on bass guitar, and Ben Chambers on percussion. The performance took place at the CBC
outdoor Diane Hoch Amphitheatre, which was set up to look like the Bourbon Room in Las Angeles
in the 1980 s. The walls were made of brick, with signs saying, Hollywood BLVD and live nudes,
with a sign saying girls, with an arrow pointing to a door. The audience dressed casual, however, there
were some who dressed up like the 1980 s. The performers, however, were dressed like rock stars and
waitresses, acting out the 1980 s. The performance was laid back, the performers made jokes and the
audience would laugh, and at the end of a scene the audience would clap. The musical consisted of 2
acts, and in the following paragraphs I will explain how the music and the performance made me feel,
the good and the bad.
The performance began with a beautiful introduction, followed by the beginning of the song Come On
Feel The Noize, by Quiet Riot. During the introduction, the music made me feel free and alive. I could
picture myself drinking a cold beer with a guitar in my lap. Immediately following the beginning of
the song Noize was the song Just Like Paradise, by David Lee Roth, which flowed

Analysis Of The Book Elvira Karlene
Elvira Karlene Edwards Although the small Idaho town where I grew up had a population of barely
eleven hundred people, it wasn t as if we were all alike. My best girlfriend was a Jehovah s Witness, a
boy I dated in high school was a Mormon, and the town undertakers were Seventh Day Adventists.
The prettiest girl in town s father was black, and down the valley some Japanese farmers owned land,
but that was about it, except for the Basque sheepherders who brought their flocks through Long
Valley in springtime, and the original Finn settlers, some of whom generations later still spoke the
language. I never thought much about how insular we were until the Walkers adopted Elvira from
Mexico. The Walkers were friends of my parents and sometimes Mr. Walker worked with Dad on
construction jobs. I remember the summer when I was four, Dad and Mr. Walker built Brown s
Logging Camp back in the hills and our families lived in tents, and my mother washed clothes on a
washboard, and Mrs. Walker taught me to draw trees. I still have the results, a crayon colored
mountain scene that Mother saved in my scrapbook. She also saved the note Mrs. Walker wrote
thanking her for sharing me, and describing a picnic we had eaten on a blanket during one of my visits
to their home in McCall. As a little girl, I was often invited to Mrs. Walker s, and together we played
card games, or took walks in the woods, or made cookies, or played with Lady Lady was a dark

Thomas Paine Questions
1. Why do you think Thomas Paine writes Common Sense anonymously? How does he think his work
will be remembered? Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense anonymously because the ideas he used in
writing the book were contradicting the government at that time. If the government knew that he wrote
it then they will take action against him to punish him. He probably thought that his work would
remain as something memorable such as it was only there to raise the spirit of the colonist to fight
back and to stand up against the government.
2. According to Paine, what is the difference between society and government? Paine states that
society and government are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
6. What is the view of Gideon that Paine uses as an example? As the exalting one man so greatly
above the rest cannot be justified on the equal rights of nature, so neither can it be defended on the
authority of scripture; for the will of the Almighty (Gideon). From this quote of Gideon, we can
assume Gideon s point of views. He thinks that all men are equal and no one man can be above the
rest. He also thinks that only God can rule over people.
7. What does Paine think that America will gain by separating from England? According to Paine,
America will gain by separating from England is that it would not get contaminated by the monarchy
he has been criticizing. Then, America will gain wealth and most importantly it will gain
independence.
8.Describe Thomas Paine s life and background, including where he is originally from and what his
reputation was before, during, and after writing Common Sense. On January 29, 1737, Thomas Paine
was born in Thetford, England. His father had grand visions for his son, but by the age of 12, Thomas
had failed out of school. The young Paine began apprenticing for his father, but again, he failed. So,
by 1768 he found himself as a tax officer

Portrayal Of Women In Advertising
No one utilizes the power of sexual suggestion like car companies. In today s world, cars have become
a sex symbol, and in the race to sell their brands, the top players in the industry have tried to out sex
each other, at one point or another. Some ads don t even feature a car. Throughout the past 60 years car
advertisements have changed significantly. In the 1950s, families were used to show cars were ideal
and the way of the future, while the 1980s and 1990s showed biased fact based arguments and hints of
celebrity approval. Today, the 2000s continue to enlarge celebrity acceptance and continue to make
sex appeal more widespread mainly through the portrayal of women. Researcher and professor Tom
Reichert, explains that this upward trend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alyssa Michaelides, a professor at Eastern Michigan University, describes this use of stereotyped sexy
women in ads and how this image [is used] to sell everything from cigarettes to clothing to household
items, and in this instance, cars (1). This ad, in some cases, can be seen as sexist, as the car is being
portrayed as a men s product and encourages the man to compare the value of the car and the woman
and the pleasure brought by both. Furthermore, it has been proven that sex sells, and this ad is
certainly no exception. In How Women Should Be Portrayed in Advertisements, the authors discuss
how women are too often portrayed as decorative [...] sex objects, and unfortunately, this
advertisement depicts just that (Roberts and Koggan 66). The woman in this Audi ad is dressed
somewhat promiscuously, and as mentioned earlier, the way she is dressed and visually portrayed,
separates her body from her intellectual abilities. The viewers are shown not a personality, but rather a
piece of meat, to attract certain viewers to desire, in this case, the car. Thus, creating the woman into

objectification and victimization of women in print advertisements. Stankiewicz studied ads from 58
magazines of all types and examined the degree to which

Modernization Of The Hawaiian Islands
The state of Hawaii, also known collectively as the Hawaiian Islands, has a long history regarding its
development. From migration, to the development of producing goods as a way of bartering, to an
eventual governed society, the modernization of Hawaii has an illustrious history. The people who
impacted this and were part of creating a globalized look at Hawaii played a part into modernization
the state. This paper will illustrate the modernization of this land and its westernization throughout the
years.
The modern origins of these islands start not from the migration of the Asian people from other
various islands, but with the discovery by an Englishmen named Captain Cook. With his ship, The
Resolution, as well as The Discovery; Cook stumbles upon the islands of Kauai and Oahu on January
18, 1778. The exchange of goods amongst the native Hawaiians showed promise, but this barter and
friendly spirit did not last; as on his second visit to the islands in 1779 was unfortunate timing which
led to his death . Following Cook s death there was a period of migration to the Hawaiian Islands
which started when some of the crew from Cook s ships decided to stay behind.
The movement of trade to the Hawaiian Islands created a rift between the native people, and the
foreigners. As fur trade in China became such a big industry, Hawaii became stopping ground or port
for these trade ships. This eventually led to an increase in the amount of foreigners, making up
majority of the

The Effect Of Activated Yeast On Hydrogen Peroxide
The Effect Of Activated Yeast on Hydrogen Peroxide

Period 1; 21 October 2015
Abstract
The topic of this lab is on biochemistry. This experiment was conducted to show how cells prevent the
build of hydrogen peroxide in tissues. My group consisted of Lekha, Ruth, and Jason. There were used
two different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide through this experiment , 1.5% and 3%. By testing
two different types it is easier to understand how the H2O2 and catalase react with one another. To do
this both the yeast, which was our catalase, and H2O2 were mixed together in a beaker. Each
concentration was tested out twice for more accurate results . 1.5% concentrated H2O2 had an average
reaction rate of 10.5 seconds while 3% concentrated H2O2 had an average reaction rate of 7.5
seconds. From this experiment we learned that by increasing the concentration of H2O2 and
chemically combining it with a catalase it will speed up the reaction. Enzymes speed up chemical
reactions . The independent variable in this experiment was the concentration of the H2O2. Some key
vocabulary words are Catalase, enzyme, hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2), and concentration.
Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to determine how the body prevents the build up of H2O2 in
tissues. During the process of cellular respiration Carbon Dioxide and water are produced but
occasionally Hydrogen Peroxide is formed as an

Literary Analysis the Chrysanthemums
Name Professor Course Date: Chrysanthemums: Literary Criticism At the turn of the 20th century,
women were considered inferior to men: they were only required to stay at home, take care of
households and children. The Chrysanthemums , as told by John Steinbeck, is a story of a woman
during that period who tries to change the course of her destiny. In this story, the two fold issues of
femininity and symbolism play a critical part in explaining this helplessness. Steinbeck uses the
narrative to signify the hope for change of the woman as well as her character by illustrating different
similarities between Elisa and her flowers. Readers are able to comprehend how a lady feels when she

Elisa s life is significantly transformed by the arrival of the tinker who comes with hope, which is also
symbolized by the flowers. At first, this hope is predicted in the setting of the narrative, although it is
subtle. Despite the fact that the valley looks like a closed pot, there are some sharp and positive
yellow; leaves (Steinbeck 175). These bring about an image of encouragement in the midst of
depression. Readers are also able to see, through Elisa s change of attitude, how she puts her hope in
the pot of chrysanthemum that she gives to the stranger. At fist, she is repulsive to the tinker and
shows little concern for him and keeps some distance from him. She looks at him irritably as her eyes
move with resistance (Steinbeck 179) when the tinker requests to offer repair services for any of her
broken item. However, this resistance changes from her face when he begins to talk about the
chrysanthemums. She starts to gain more interest: Her eyes (brighten) and (become) alert and eager
(Steinbeck 180). In addition, she opens one of the men clothes that she is wearing and makes her heart
open to reality. From removing the gloves, to destroying the tattered hat, and shaking her beautiful
hair, Elisa seems to be blossoming like a flower (Steinbeck 179 180). These images prove to the
readers that the arrival of the tinker, and his interest in the flowers as well as his talk of love and life of

Throughout my fourteen years of life, I could not keep count with my fingers of how many times we
have moved. On the other hand, I understood her decision to move from Birch Bay to Bellingham.
Besides, my brother and I were going to school there and all our friends were there, too. Not to

New School Experience
New school, new people, and new clothes. Everything is going to be different, I was not looking

again. I didn t like it so I quickly sat down. After we left assembly we had math, i did not like that

Southern Subculture Of Violence
Subcultures of violence are mostly described by its norms, identifiable values or shared views for their
communication which orders the use of violence in various circumstances. Subcultures are not entirely
different from a larger culture to which they re surrounded. On the other hand, the subcultural
supporters contribute many social beliefs of the dominant culture and observe a separate set of
principles and ideals that are not overlooked by the larger class of society. Observing to the beliefs of
a subculture of violence or the use of violence in a particular situation isn t just to tolerate it, but to
expect it. This expectation promotes an ideal behavior, meaning that opposing agreements can occur if
violence isn t used in a situation for which subcultural rules request it. Generally, the most discussed
subcultures of violence both said to be found in America are the Black subculture of violence and
Southern subculture of violence.

The Black experience has led some to suggest the existence of a unique Black subculture of violence,
in which a small subset of the Black population adheres to normative expectations that are uncannily
similar to those found in the Southern subculture of violence. Although recent empirical research
using individual level survey data finds no support for the notion that Blacks are more tolerant of
violence, at least one recent analyst has intriguingly argued that Black violence is a cultural
phenomenon resulting from 200 years of immersion in the Southern culture of violence, and carried
out of the South with the great migration in the first half of the 20th century. This hypothesis thus
bridges the gap between these two subcultures, which until recently were treated as wholly distinct

in such little time, busyness and stress seem to take over our lives. In The Busy Trap, Tim Kreider s
position as to why the audience should strive to avoid busyness is very well thought out, however,
some of the points in the essay have faulty reasoning.
This essay presents the argument that instead of keeping a busy life, we should live a carefree and
relaxed life instead. The busyness that overtakes our lives often comes subconsciously, which we
submit to, without even realizing it ourselves. This supports Kreider s claims that busyness is a trap .
He also points out that once it has begun to overtake our lives, we begin to accept it and are led to
believe that there is no way to avoid it. Once we start to believe that busyness is an unavoidable part
of life, then we fall into the busy trap. The author also encourages the audience to avoid a busy
lifestyle giving several reasons why a relaxed lifestyle is more ideal. The author also challenges the
audience to avoid busyness and to strive towards a less stressful lifestyle.
According to the author, people are ...busy because of their own ambition, drive, or anxiety, because
they are addicted to busyness and dread what they might have to face in its absence (Kreider 982).
Kreider has taken a position that rejects anyone with a busy life. This generalization gives his readers
a negative misconception that people with busy lives are responsible for their own daily stress. This is
an example of Ad Hominem. Ad Hominem is used when personal attacks on those who support a
position are used, as opposed to creating counterarguments based on principle (Lunsford 400). By
accusing busy people of being addicted to busyness (Kreider 985), he targets busy people individually
through his claim that they are to blame for any stress and anxiety that may be caused by
overwhelming busyness.
The author also insinuates that modern day society supports busyness and most Americans have
inserted themselves into this pattern, if only by our own acquiescence (Kreider 983). The author
argues that busyness is something we collectively force one another to do (Kreider

How to Work in Singapore
Wondering how to acquire an employment pass for a company in Singapore? Here are the some ways
you can do so.
Generally, EP (Employment Pass) is a kind of pass usually issued to professional employees, foreign
directors, and managers who are planning to work in Singapore.
Likewise, an Employment Pass holder is not qualified for a levy or CPF (Central Provident Fund), and
the pass being issued is only valid for 1 2 years and should be renewed after. One of the many benefits
of acquiring this is it allows the applicant to work, stay, and travel in Singapore without the need to
apply for a VISA just to enter the country.
For those who are planning to set up a company in Singapore, they could opt for an Entrepreneur Pass
Singapore prior to moving there.
Though, it could be more cumbersome when it comes to the renewal of an Entrepreneur Pass
Singapore after some time.
In order to be certain, check out the criteria when applying for an Entrepreneur Pass:
The following are the fees scheduled for application of the Employment Pass:
 Initial Processing Fees: S$850 (non refundable processing fees)
 MOM License: 06C3628
 Extra Approval Fees: S$1500 (The approval fees given after the approval of the Employment Pass
Singapore, which is the receipt of IPA Employment Pass Singapore). Though, the medical check up
fees are not included.

Comparison Of Soccer Balls
Background
Although a soccer ball may look like a sphere is not a real sphere. When you look closely at the actual
ball you will see that it is polyhedron made of different shapes. A polyhedron is a three dimensional
object composed of flat polygon sides typically connected at the edges (Wolfram 1999). The most
common shape of modern soccer balls is called a truncated icosahedron. Icosahedron is a shape made
up of 20 triangles. To create a more round object the icosahedron is truncated. Here, truncated applies
to cutting off the edges which makes the icosahedron look more round ( Icosahedron, 2014). The
truncated icosahedron has 32 total faces including 12 regular pentagons and 20 regular hexagons with
90 edges and 60 vertices ( Truncated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Check that the lengths of all the lines is 5 cm and that the angles are all 108Âș. Carefully cut out the
regular pentagon.
12) Now repeat the previous steps 11 more times to create the 12 regular pentagons. Always check
that the compass and lines are 5 cm. B) Create a regular hexagon
To draw a regular hexagon we followed the instructions provided online (Hartley, 2013).
1) Set the radius of the compass to 5 cm. It is critical that it stays at this length. Throughout the
process check that the length stays at 5 cm.
2) Draw a line 5 cm long and label the points A and B (.
3) Draw 2 small arcs centered at point A and point B towards the center of the line AB. Label the point
where the two arcs cross as point 1. This is the center of the regular hexagon and the vertices of the
hexagon will be on a circle centered at this point.
4) Initially draw a full circle centered at point 1. In future steps you only need to draw arcs near where
the vertices occur.
5) Using point B as the center, draw a short arc that crosses the circle. Label the point of intersection

Mental Illness and Violent Crime
The stereotype that goes hand in hand with mental illness that though seems to have improved over
the years is still pervasive. Teplin, Abram McClelland (1994) state that people in general, believe that
people with mental illness are more likely to commit violent crime with those without mental illness.
In their study they seek to find evidence to that statement to learn if having a mental illness increases
the likeliness of violent crime and recidivism after release from prison. This author seeks to discover
the same using similar data to learn if there is a connection between violent crime and mental illness.
The data gathered in the Teplin, Abram McClelland (1994) research was conducted in the Cook
county jail in Chicago ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The researchers of the Dorn et al. (2012) study conducted in person interviews with non
institutionalized individuals in two waves. In wave one; data was collected between 2001 and 2003
and in wave two, between 2004 and 2005. The definition of mental illness for this study was those
with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder which are in line with the other
studies in this review. The data used was obtained from the National Epidemiological Survey on
Alcohol and Related Conditions (NESARC). This data was examined by the researchers with SAS
where they used univariate rates of violence and bivariate relationships between mental disorder
between the two waves and then multivariable connections to see the relationship between mental
illness and violence. Their results were in contrast with recent findings that there is little connection
between mental illness and violence. The results show that people with severe mental illness have
higher risk of violence than those with no mental health or substance abuse issues. Dorn et al. (2012)
also state that the NESARC data shows a causal relationship between severe mental illness and risk of
violence.
There is an understandable desire among law enforcement persons to be able to predict the likelihood
of a mentally ill person to commit a violent crime. What is interesting to this author is that a large
amount of research on the matter states that there is no connection and no

Pablo Neruda Research Paper
Pablo Neruda, a Chilean Poet mention: Where does the rainbow end, in your soul or on the horizon?
Whenever I read this quote I think optimism; if you re optimistic many doors will open. Well you may
be tasking yourself what does being optimistic has to do with your health? A study made in 1990 s, in
Finland, with two groups of 1,250 healthy man (one group was pessimistic and the other group was
optimistic), in a time frame of ten years; reveal that the group who were pessimistic, two thirds of

For some people it may not seem bad to drink a coke while we eat: but in a day theirs three meals, and
if you times three time seven you will get twenty one cokes in a week. Twenty one coke in a week,
that s too much! As a result of drinking too much coke makes me more obsessed and helps promote
diabetes.
My second bad health habit is lack of drinking water. Doctor Howard Flaks mentioned that for a
healthy person the minimum of water they should consumed is eight to ten cups of water. It is sad to
admit that I don t even drink three cups of water. With this nonsense of mine, I am just harming
myself. The lack of water contributes to having more frequent headache, joint ache, and dryness of
eyes.
Getting a certain amount of sunlight is good for your health, but when you get too much hours of
sunlight it stops being so health for you. For my third bad health habit is that I spend too much time
outside with direct sunlight and no sun cream nor protection. Is my passion being outside especially in
the summer, I can spend hours and hours outside without even noticing it. The sad part is that I am
allergic to direct run light; if I spend about an hour outside with direct run light I will start to get this
type black spots in body. I have special medications and creams that I have use, but the problem is that
I always forget about them.

The And Drug Administration ( Fda )
1. DEFINITION AND DIAGNOSIS
The Orthotics field is often associated with upper limb orthoses, such as an airplane splint, lower limb
orthoses, such as AFOs (ankle foot orthosis) and FOs (foot orthosis), or spinal orthoses. However,
there are also orthotic devices for other areas of the body, like the head cranial helmets. Also referred
to as cranial bands, helmet molding therapy, or cranial orthosis, is a type of treatment where an infant
is fitted with a special helmet to correct the shape of the skull (Kieffer). Cranial helmets resemble
bicycle helmets in appearance as displayed by Figure 1. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
regulate a large portion of cranial helmets, similar to other medical devices. Under the FDA, cranial
orthoses are categorized as a Class II medical device. A class II devices represent a medium risk
category for which FDA establishes that additional special controls are needed to ensure safety and
efficacy. Examples of class II devices would include sutures and bone drills (Littlefield). Cranial
Helmets are designed and/or fitted by an Orthotist (an allied health practitioner). In the majority of
cases, cranial helmets are constructed out of various plastic polymers with a multitude of decorative
patterns and colors.
The first step of helmet molding therapy is evaluation via measurement. An Orthotist will visually
observe the head for ear alignment and facial symmetry. In the past, cranial casts were used to obtain
precise measurements.

Post Liberal Era Essay
The Post Liberal Era begins with the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Although Ronald Reagan was one
of the most popular president in United States history, the years he served were not beloved by many.
One example of this was Reverend Jerry Falwell. Reverend Falwell believed that our grand old flag
from going down the drain. according to the Reverend Jerry Falwell, Moral Majority Fundraising
Letter. He was against homosexual people and the distribution of pornography and R/X rated movies.
He seemed to believe that the sex and violence they contained were bad for America as a whole.
Lastly, he brought up the controversial subject of abortion, believing it to be synonymous with murder.

Another huge, relevant problem that began budding under the presidency of Ronald Reagan was mass
incarceration. Incarceration rates rose quickly during his term but skyrocketed when President Bill
Clinton passed the Crime Bill according to the sources. The post war period revealed huge rises in the
number of people imprisoned. From a mere 338,029 in 1970, the figures rose to a shocking 2,042,479
in 2001 according to the information supplied by Dr. Barrett. In the document Why Mass
Incarceration Matters by Heather Ann Thompson, it states that Between
1970 and 2010 more people were incarcerated in the United States than were imprisoned in any other
country. What was not surprising was the fact that African Americans once again were the ones who
were the most unfortunate, recording the highest imprisonment rate among all races and sexes. The
numbers before the 1960s do not even compare to the numbers following. For example, numbers
taken from the document show that 35 years before the 1960s, the number of American people
imprisoned had increased by 52,249 people. However, the 35 years after, the same group had
increased by a drastic 1,266,2435. Even with the massive numbers documented in statistics of the
numbers of American citizens incarcerated, historians have ignored this integral piece of the post war
period and failed to recognize its impact. For example, mass incarceration had a direct effect on how
thriving American urban centers became full of poverty

Nutrient Timing
Nutrient timing is an important aspect for the proper growth and help of the human body. Over the
years, the idea of nutrient timing has added a significant impact to the health of the body, especially
exercise training. Think of it this way: before nutrient timing there was what you ate and what you did
(exercise). Adding nutrient timing adds in the aspect of time. Similar to the third wall in film, nutrition
timing adds a new dimension. Much focus has been put on simply what to eat, but now another
emphasis should be put on when to eat. The idea of nutrient timing is to help benefit the physical
activity that is being done by professional and recreational exercise seekers. It is meant to help carry
the right amount of nutrients (protein,

Cognitive Theories Of Cognitive Behavioral Theories
Cognitive behavioral theories theorize that human behavior is caused by internal or mental events, and
in addition to external events proposed by behavioral theories. Research suggests that cognitive
behavioral theories have shifted their focus, as seen in the first, second, and third waves of the
theories. For example, initially the focus of cognitive theories was on identifying and changing
maladaptive thoughts. However, recent models of cognitive theories seek to help people evaluate, and
change their thoughts, beliefs, and assumptions. In addition, these newer models of cognitive
behavioral theories seek to help clients understand the interactional nature of their thoughts and
behaviors (Jones Butman, 2012). Conversely, at the core of cognitive behavioral theories is the
assumption that human behavior is affected by cognitive activities. In addition, cognitive behavioral
therapists theorize that human behavior can be monitored and altered, and also human behavior can be
changed through rational change (Hersen Gross, 2008). Philosophical Assumptions Studies show that
cognitive behavioral theories do not have explicit philosophical assumption. However, concepts of
cognitive behavioral theory are associated with assumptions from a critical rationalism standpoint. At
the core of critical rationalism is the belief that knowledge is only gained by falsifying hypotheses
derived from scientific theories. Overall, knowledge is seen as objective and not subjective.

  • 3. Emily Grierson Illness William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily, Miss Emily Grierson lives a tragic secluded life, isolate from the world, in her house. However, upon further inspection, it appears that she has a psychological disorder which affects her relationships with her family and the community preventing her from making a true, healthy connection with the outside world. Her illness is present in all aspects of communication within the community and even within herself. It is perpetuated by the refusal of the community to talk about it and the help she receives from authorities to cloak the symptoms altogether. According to Yang, The truth is that she poisons Homer secretly and resolutely as she protects her dignity and reputation, and at the same time she confines her lover in her room from everlasting to everlasting, although it is only a dead body that lies in bed (Yang, 2013). From this passage Yang implies Emily knows what she is she doing. She resulted to violence because Homer took her dignity. Pingping s argument is that Emily is conscious is her behavior. • 4. The Role Of Exchange Rate Policy Essay Title: The Role of Exchange Rate Policy Economists use models that illustrates the relationships between economic variables to understand real world problems. Macroeconomics and international economics can be messy if we do not think through a model. On the other hand, as stated by George Box, all models are wrong but some of them are useful. As I understand, there are two important points in the question: 1) What forces determine the movements in the exchange rate? 2) What kind of exchange rate policy can help the U.S. to recover from the recession? I first describe the forces behind the movements in the exchange rate through macroeconomic model. I, then, use these models to suggest an exchange rate policy for the US economy that can help its transition from the Great Recession. Section title: Exchange Rate and Open Economy Exchange rate is the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency. Basically, it is the price of some foreign currency in terms of a home currency. Economist define the long run as the period in which prices are flexible, and the short run as the period in which prices are sticky. Therefore, the forces behind the exchange rate movements should be examined both in the long run and short run. Following a standard text book description, I start with the long run period. Section title: Exchange rate in the long run Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) Theorem to Determine Exchange Rates Purchasing power parity theorem argues that since the law of one ... • 6. Reflection Paper On Rock Of Ages On 21 July 2017, I attended the Rock of Ages jukebox musical, which incorporated popular 1980 s rock music with the love story of an upcoming rock star and a hopeful actress. Apart from the cast, dancers and ensemble, there was Ben Walley on keyboard, Phil Simpson on electric guitar, Greg Fryhling on bass guitar, and Ben Chambers on percussion. The performance took place at the CBC outdoor Diane Hoch Amphitheatre, which was set up to look like the Bourbon Room in Las Angeles in the 1980 s. The walls were made of brick, with signs saying, Hollywood BLVD and live nudes, with a sign saying girls, with an arrow pointing to a door. The audience dressed casual, however, there were some who dressed up like the 1980 s. The performers, however, were dressed like rock stars and waitresses, acting out the 1980 s. The performance was laid back, the performers made jokes and the audience would laugh, and at the end of a scene the audience would clap. The musical consisted of 2 acts, and in the following paragraphs I will explain how the music and the performance made me feel, the good and the bad. The performance began with a beautiful introduction, followed by the beginning of the song Come On Feel The Noize, by Quiet Riot. During the introduction, the music made me feel free and alive. I could picture myself drinking a cold beer with a guitar in my lap. Immediately following the beginning of the song Noize was the song Just Like Paradise, by David Lee Roth, which flowed ... My best girlfriend was a Jehovah s Witness, a boy I dated in high school was a Mormon, and the town undertakers were Seventh Day Adventists. The prettiest girl in town s father was black, and down the valley some Japanese farmers owned land, but that was about it, except for the Basque sheepherders who brought their flocks through Long Valley in springtime, and the original Finn settlers, some of whom generations later still spoke the language. I never thought much about how insular we were until the Walkers adopted Elvira from Mexico. The Walkers were friends of my parents and sometimes Mr. Walker worked with Dad on construction jobs. I remember the summer when I was four, Dad and Mr. Walker built Brown s Logging Camp back in the hills and our families lived in tents, and my mother washed clothes on a washboard, and Mrs. Walker taught me to draw trees. I still have the results, a crayon colored mountain scene that Mother saved in my scrapbook. She also saved the note Mrs. Walker wrote thanking her for sharing me, and describing a picnic we had eaten on a blanket during one of my visits to their home in McCall. • 8. Political Philosophy and Paine Essay example Jesus Chaveste HIST 1301 Dr. Olivares September 7, 2013 Thomas Paine Questions 1. Why do you think Thomas Paine writes Common Sense anonymously? How does he think his work will be remembered? Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense anonymously because the ideas he used in writing the book were contradicting the government at that time. If the government knew that he wrote it then they will take action against him to punish him. He probably thought that his work would remain as something memorable such as it was only there to raise the spirit of the colonist to fight back and to stand up against the government. 2. What is the view of Gideon that Paine uses as an example? As the exalting one man so greatly above the rest cannot be justified on the equal rights of nature, so neither can it be defended on the authority of scripture; for the will of the Almighty (Gideon). From this quote of Gideon, we can assume Gideon s point of views. He thinks that all men are equal and no one man can be above the rest. He also thinks that only God can rule over people. 7. What does Paine think that America will gain by separating from England? According to Paine, America will gain by separating from England is that it would not get contaminated by the monarchy he has been criticizing. Then, America will gain wealth and most importantly it will gain independence. 8.Describe Thomas Paine s life and background, including where he is originally from and what his reputation was before, during, and after writing Common Sense. Some ads don t even feature a car. Throughout the past 60 years car advertisements have changed significantly. In the 1950s, families were used to show cars were ideal and the way of the future, while the 1980s and 1990s showed biased fact based arguments and hints of celebrity approval. Furthermore, it has been proven that sex sells, and this ad is certainly no exception. In How Women Should Be Portrayed in Advertisements, the authors discuss how women are too often portrayed as decorative [...] sex objects, and unfortunately, this advertisement depicts just that (Roberts and Koggan 66). • 10. Modernization Of The Hawaiian Islands The state of Hawaii, also known collectively as the Hawaiian Islands, has a long history regarding its development. From migration, to the development of producing goods as a way of bartering, to an eventual governed society, the modernization of Hawaii has an illustrious history. The people who impacted this and were part of creating a globalized look at Hawaii played a part into modernization the state. This paper will illustrate the modernization of this land and its westernization throughout the years. The modern origins of these islands start not from the migration of the Asian people from other various islands, but with the discovery by an Englishmen named Captain Cook. With his ship, The Resolution, as well as The Discovery; Cook stumbles upon the islands of Kauai and Oahu on January 18, 1778. The exchange of goods amongst the native Hawaiians showed promise, but this barter and friendly spirit did not last; as on his second visit to the islands in 1779 was unfortunate timing which led to his death . Following Cook s death there was a period of migration to the Hawaiian Islands which started when some of the crew from Cook s ships decided to stay behind. The movement of trade to the Hawaiian Islands created a rift between the native people, and the foreigners. As fur trade in China became such a big industry, Hawaii became stopping ground or port for these trade ships. This eventually led to an increase in the amount of foreigners, making up majority of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Effect Of Activated Yeast On Hydrogen Peroxide The Effect Of Activated Yeast on Hydrogen Peroxide Kashish Pandey Lekha Pillarisetti, Ruth Rauca, Jason Tran Period 1; 21 October 2015 Abstract The topic of this lab is on biochemistry. This experiment was conducted to show how cells prevent the build of hydrogen peroxide in tissues. My group consisted of Lekha, Ruth, and Jason. There were used two different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide through this experiment , 1.5% and 3%. By testing two different types it is easier to understand how the H2O2 and catalase react with one another. To do this both the yeast, which was our catalase, and H2O2 were mixed together in a beaker. Each concentration was tested out twice for more accurate results . 1.5% concentrated H2O2 had an average reaction rate of 10.5 seconds while 3% concentrated H2O2 had an average reaction rate of 7.5 seconds. From this experiment we learned that by increasing the concentration of H2O2 and chemically combining it with a catalase it will speed up the reaction. Enzymes speed up chemical reactions . The independent variable in this experiment was the concentration of the H2O2. Some key vocabulary words are Catalase, enzyme, hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2), and concentration. Introduction The purpose of this experiment was to determine how the body prevents the build up of H2O2 in tissues. • 12. Literary Analysis the Chrysanthemums Name Professor Course Date: Chrysanthemums: Literary Criticism At the turn of the 20th century, women were considered inferior to men: they were only required to stay at home, take care of households and children. The Chrysanthemums , as told by John Steinbeck, is a story of a woman during that period who tries to change the course of her destiny. In this story, the two fold issues of femininity and symbolism play a critical part in explaining this helplessness. Steinbeck uses the narrative to signify the hope for change of the woman as well as her character by illustrating different similarities between Elisa and her flowers. Readers are also able to see, through Elisa s change of attitude, how she puts her hope in the pot of chrysanthemum that she gives to the stranger. At fist, she is repulsive to the tinker and shows little concern for him and keeps some distance from him. She looks at him irritably as her eyes move with resistance (Steinbeck 179) when the tinker requests to offer repair services for any of her broken item. However, this resistance changes from her face when he begins to talk about the chrysanthemums. She starts to gain more interest: Her eyes (brighten) and (become) alert and eager (Steinbeck 180). In addition, she opens one of the men clothes that she is wearing and makes her heart open to reality. From removing the gloves, to destroying the tattered hat, and shaking her beautiful hair, Elisa seems to be blossoming like a flower (Steinbeck 179 180). • 20. Tim Kreider The Busy Trap Analysis Present day American society is fast paced and constantly moving forward. With so many things to do in such little time, busyness and stress seem to take over our lives. In The Busy Trap, Tim Kreider s position as to why the audience should strive to avoid busyness is very well thought out, however, some of the points in the essay have faulty reasoning. This essay presents the argument that instead of keeping a busy life, we should live a carefree and relaxed life instead. The busyness that overtakes our lives often comes subconsciously, which we submit to, without even realizing it ourselves. This supports Kreider s claims that busyness is a trap . He also points out that once it has begun to overtake our lives, we begin to accept it and are led to believe that there is no way to avoid it. Once we start to believe that busyness is an unavoidable part of life, then we fall into the busy trap. The author also encourages the audience to avoid a busy lifestyle giving several reasons why a relaxed lifestyle is more ideal. The author also challenges the audience to avoid busyness and to strive towards a less stressful lifestyle. According to the author, people are ...busy because of their own ambition, drive, or anxiety, because they are addicted to busyness and dread what they might have to face in its absence (Kreider 982). Kreider has taken a position that rejects anyone with a busy life. This generalization gives his readers a negative misconception that people with busy lives are responsible for their own daily stress. This is an example of Ad Hominem. Ad Hominem is used when personal attacks on those who support a position are used, as opposed to creating counterarguments based on principle (Lunsford 400). By accusing busy people of being addicted to busyness (Kreider 985), he targets busy people individually through his claim that they are to blame for any stress and anxiety that may be caused by overwhelming busyness. The author also insinuates that modern day society supports busyness and most Americans have inserted themselves into this pattern, if only by our own acquiescence (Kreider 983). The author argues that busyness is something we collectively force one another to do (Kreider ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Generally, EP (Employment Pass) is a kind of pass usually issued to professional employees, foreign directors, and managers who are planning to work in Singapore. Likewise, an Employment Pass holder is not qualified for a levy or CPF (Central Provident Fund), and the pass being issued is only valid for 1 2 years and should be renewed after. One of the many benefits of acquiring this is it allows the applicant to work, stay, and travel in Singapore without the need to apply for a VISA just to enter the country. For those who are planning to set up a company in Singapore, they could opt for an Entrepreneur Pass Singapore prior to moving there. Though, it could be more cumbersome when it comes to the renewal of an Entrepreneur Pass Singapore after some time. In order to be certain, check out the criteria when applying for an Entrepreneur Pass: The following are the fees scheduled for application of the Employment Pass:  Initial Processing Fees: S$850 (non refundable processing fees)  MOM License: 06C3628  Extra Approval Fees: S$1500 (The approval fees given after the approval of the Employment Pass Singapore, which is the receipt of IPA Employment Pass Singapore). • 22. Comparison Of Soccer Balls Background Although a soccer ball may look like a sphere is not a real sphere. When you look closely at the actual ball you will see that it is polyhedron made of different shapes. A polyhedron is a three dimensional object composed of flat polygon sides typically connected at the edges (Wolfram 1999). The most common shape of modern soccer balls is called a truncated icosahedron. Icosahedron is a shape made up of 20 triangles. To create a more round object the icosahedron is truncated. Here, truncated applies to cutting off the edges which makes the icosahedron look more round ( Icosahedron, 2014). The truncated icosahedron has 32 total faces including 12 regular pentagons and 20 regular hexagons with 90 edges and 60 vertices ( Truncated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... B) Create a regular hexagon To draw a regular hexagon we followed the instructions provided online (Hartley, 2013). 1) Set the radius of the compass to 5 cm. It is critical that it stays at this length. Throughout the process check that the length stays at 5 cm. 2) Draw a line 5 cm long and label the points A and B (. 3) Draw 2 small arcs centered at point A and point B towards the center of the line AB. Label the point where the two arcs cross as point 1. This is the center of the regular hexagon and the vertices of the hexagon will be on a circle centered at this point. 4) Initially draw a full circle centered at point 1. In future steps you only need to draw arcs near where the vertices occur. 5) Using point B as the center, draw a short arc that crosses the circle. Label the point of intersection point ... Teplin, Abram McClelland (1994) state that people in general, believe that people with mental illness are more likely to commit violent crime with those without mental illness. In their study they seek to find evidence to that statement to learn if having a mental illness increases the likeliness of violent crime and recidivism after release from prison. This author seeks to discover the same using similar data to learn if there is a connection between violent crime and mental illness. (2012) study conducted in person interviews with non institutionalized individuals in two waves. In wave one; data was collected between 2001 and 2003 and in wave two, between 2004 and 2005. The definition of mental illness for this study was those with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder which are in line with the other studies in this review. The data used was obtained from the National Epidemiological Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions (NESARC). This data was examined by the researchers with SAS where they used univariate rates of violence and bivariate relationships between mental disorder between the two waves and then multivariable connections to see the relationship between mental illness and violence. Their results were in contrast with recent findings that there is little connection between mental illness and violence. The results show that people with severe mental illness have higher risk of violence than those with no mental health or substance abuse issues. Dorn et al. (2012) also state that the NESARC data shows a causal relationship between severe mental illness and risk of violence. There is an understandable desire among law enforcement persons to be able to predict the likelihood of a mentally ill person to commit a violent crime. DEFINITION AND DIAGNOSIS The Orthotics field is often associated with upper limb orthoses, such as an airplane splint, lower limb orthoses, such as AFOs (ankle foot orthosis) and FOs (foot orthosis), or spinal orthoses. However, there are also orthotic devices for other areas of the body, like the head cranial helmets. Also referred to as cranial bands, helmet molding therapy, or cranial orthosis, is a type of treatment where an infant is fitted with a special helmet to correct the shape of the skull (Kieffer). Cranial helmets resemble bicycle helmets in appearance as displayed by Figure 1. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulate a large portion of cranial helmets, similar to other medical devices. Under the FDA, cranial orthoses are categorized as a Class II medical device. A class II devices represent a medium risk category for which FDA establishes that additional special controls are needed to ensure safety and efficacy. Examples of class II devices would include sutures and bone drills (Littlefield). Cranial Helmets are designed and/or fitted by an Orthotist (an allied health practitioner). In the majority of cases, cranial helmets are constructed out of various plastic polymers with a multitude of decorative patterns and colors. The first step of helmet molding therapy is evaluation via measurement. An Orthotist will visually observe the head for ear alignment and facial symmetry. In the past, cranial casts were used to obtain precise measurements. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another huge, relevant problem that began budding under the presidency of Ronald Reagan was mass incarceration. Incarceration rates rose quickly during his term but skyrocketed when President Bill Clinton passed the Crime Bill according to the sources. The post war period revealed huge rises in the number of people imprisoned. From a mere 338,029 in 1970, the figures rose to a shocking 2,042,479 in 2001 according to the information supplied by Dr. Barrett. In the document Why Mass Incarceration Matters by Heather Ann Thompson, it states that Between 1970 and 2010 more people were incarcerated in the United States than were imprisoned in any other country. What was not surprising was the fact that African Americans once again were the ones who were the most unfortunate, recording the highest imprisonment rate among all races and sexes. The numbers before the 1960s do not even compare to the numbers following. For example, numbers taken from the document show that 35 years before the 1960s, the number of American people imprisoned had increased by 52,249 people. However, the 35 years after, the same group had increased by a drastic 1,266,2435. Even with the massive numbers documented in statistics of the numbers of American citizens incarcerated, historians have ignored this integral piece of the post war period and failed to recognize its impact. • 29. Cognitive Theories Of Cognitive Behavioral Theories Cognitive behavioral theories theorize that human behavior is caused by internal or mental events, and in addition to external events proposed by behavioral theories. Research suggests that cognitive behavioral theories have shifted their focus, as seen in the first, second, and third waves of the theories. For example, initially the focus of cognitive theories was on identifying and changing maladaptive thoughts. However, recent models of cognitive theories seek to help people evaluate, and change their thoughts, beliefs, and assumptions. In addition, these newer models of cognitive behavioral theories seek to help clients understand the interactional nature of their thoughts and behaviors (Jones Butman, 2012). Conversely, at the core of cognitive behavioral theories is the assumption that human behavior is affected by cognitive activities. In addition, cognitive behavioral therapists theorize that human behavior can be monitored and altered, and also human behavior can be changed through rational change (Hersen Gross, 2008). Philosophical Assumptions Studies show that cognitive behavioral theories do not have explicit philosophical assumption. However, concepts of cognitive behavioral theory are associated with assumptions from a critical rationalism standpoint. At the core of critical rationalism is the belief that knowledge is only gained by falsifying hypotheses derived from scientific theories. Overall, knowledge is seen as objective and not subjective. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
