Have you ever thought about how you are using your time? At the end of the day we have a finite time to live on this earth. Our clock starts counting down as soon as we are born. If we did the calculations, would the numbers reflect our intent? As we review the world’s statistics on human life expectancy, the world average life span is 68 years. The longest average life expectancy is in Japan with an average life-span of 83 years. How do we, in North America, compare to that number. Well, we are better than the world average but surprisingly we are not in the top 10. Canada ranks #11 with a life expectancy of 82 years; US ranks at #40 with an expectancy of 79 years.

A photo report on the SLA School Librarian of the Year Award Ceremony at Dexter House, Tower Hill, London, 1 October 2012. The award was won by Adam Lancaster of Monk's Walk School in Welwyn Garden City.
Also awarded was the School Library Design Award, on its second year. Winner was The Duston School in Northampton. The school library, known as "The Hub" was praised by the judges for giving students "ownership of their own space and their own place. Funky furnishings, a bold colour scheme, creative space planning, natural and artificial lighting, effective acoustics and ever changing, motivating signage and graphics make The Hub a destination like no other."
Kevin Crossley Holland, author and chair of the SLA, in praising the finalists for the awards said: "Make no mistake about it! School libraries and school librarians are under real pressure – political apathy, cuts in their budgets, threats of redundancy, status within their schools. But all over the country, individual librarians are doing imaginative and valiant and, frankly, quite crucial work, inspiring a love of reading within their schools and communities. They’re not only custodians of the storyhoard, the river of poems and the building blocks of information but brokers of the relationship between books as physical artefacts and the Digital Age. Now, the very best of them have been shortlisted to be the SLA School Librarian of the Year. It’s an award that matters, and it should be recognised by each and every one of us.”

As a result, I prepared this "Alzheimer's Disease in North America" infographic to give a snapshot or quick reference of the disease and a summary of what to expect as both a patient and care partner or giver. I prepared this for my family as a quick resource. I share this with you or others who are also having to take this journey.
Today's Consumers
Today's consumers, or "COMsumers", are internet-savvy, social, and value their online networks and communities. They conduct research, make comparisons, and seek recommendations from friends before making purchasing decisions. COMsumers demand transparency, authenticity, and commitment from brands. They expect two-way communication and will collaborate with companies to develop desired products and services. If brands provide a positive customer experience and engage on social media, COMsumers will become loyal advocates.

Rethinking global supply chain and social media
For many in the supply chain space, there seems to be some hesitation about entering social media. There is a luke warm “yes” to the fact that supply chain professionals ought to be using social tools in some way, however there is a struggle on how one would leverage this new media. This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
