There is and There are
There is or there are is used to say that something
exists in a particular place.
There is → singular.
There are → plural.

There is (singular)
 There is = There’s (positive).
 There is not = There isn’t (negative).
 Is there …? (yes/no question).
 Yes, there is. / No, there isn’t. (short answers).

A or An (singular)
 A is always before a consonant.
 An is always before a vowel (a, e, i, o, u)
Examples
1. There is a banana on the table.
2. There’s an onion in the fridge.
3. There isn’t a cabbage in the kitchen.
4. Is there an apple on the table?

 There are (positive).
 There are not = There aren’t (negative).

 s → in general we use s to make a plural.
Carrot → Carrots. / Apple → Apples.
 ies → consonant + y: change y to ies.
Cherry → Cherries. / Strawberry → Strawberries.

Tomato → Tomatoes. / Peach → Peaches.
