Spanish is one of the most common languages in the world. Many people can read and write in
Spanish, but some people aren t able to speak in Spanish such as me. Even though I struggled with
Spanish, I overcame it by practicing every day and getting help to speak it correctly. Back in high
school, I did well in all my classes including Spanish. I understand the meaning and grammar of some
Spanish words, but I struggled to speak it. My teacher wanted us to present in Spanish. I heard that I
was worried because I m not the best at presenting and especially speaking in Spanish (of course). In a
matter of seconds, I decided that I need to practice if I want to get a good grade and boost up my G.P.A.
On the next day, I downloaded an app called Duolingo that helps you learn and speak a new language.
To me, it s helpful because I can practice ten to 20 minutes per day and go over some materials. On
google reviews, most people loved Duolingo s lessons being so shorter, quicker, and easier than Rosetta
Stone. It can let me go back to lessons for a recap what I did. Better yet it uses audio to let me hear how
it sounds and speaking slowly to pronounce. Over a week, I had improved my speaking skills from
speechless to mumbling quietly. This app is great in learning a new language, but not at speaking to

Repetition serves several different narrative functions in the Epic of Gilagmesh. It connects three parts

The idea of true love is a popular theme in Shakespeare s writings. In his play, Twelfth Night, Viola,

African Slaves In The Novel Saltwater Slavery By Smallwood
The Natchez District where a tribe of Indians were housed as slaves was the first Mississippi region
where plantations were established. There African slaves were introduced into the Natchez plantation
system in the early 1700s by the French colonists where the first major profitable crop that thrived from
African slave labor in Natchez was tobacco products. The slaves shipped here came with a militant
spirit after being harbored amongst the torturous vessels. Their aggression, at first took the form of
resistance on slave ships as many deckhands and captive slaves experienced the unforgiving waters,
this is again explained in the novel Saltwater Slavery written by Smallwood. One of the earliest
recorded incidents of a slave resistance was the Natchez Indian Revolt of 1729 against the French
colonists. The African arrival in Natchez did not quell this militancy. Instead it caused the Natchez to

Another difference between the two countries is their court system. France does not practice judicial
review. In the United States, the Supreme Court has the principle responsibility of ruling on the
constitutionality of all laws. This kind of judicial review is not practiced in France (Terrill 232). In
France they have the Constitutional council which has nine members serving a nine year term, they are
responsible for election complaints and the legislation made in parliament. The advantage of this is that
it reduces the conflict of jurisdictions. But the disadvantage is that our Supreme Court has a longer
term than the Constitutional Council which allows more constant laws and fewer laws that will
contradict each other.
The aspect of legal profession and legal education is also extremely different. To become a judge in
France you must first obtain a law degree from a university law school. Next you must gain admission
to the National School for the Judiciary at Bordeaux (Terrill 236). After completing this school, the
candidate is now qualified to become a judge. The French system allows judges to begin their
profession at an early age which could be a disadvantage because of lack of experience in the system,
where judges in the United States are usually older and more knowledgeable.

The two main theorists on the idea of social class are Karl Marx and Max Weber. Marx based his
theory on the idea that there are only two social classes, the bourgeoisie and proletariat. The

dominate the mindless proletariat (lower or working class). In bourgeois society capital is independent
and has individuality, while the living person is dependent and has no individuality (Marx, Capital,
2015). Marx claimed that the proletariat would rise in revolution against the bourgeoisie as they gained
a class conscious. Although this did not happen due to the fact that working classes gained more skills
and created unions and labor laws in order to protect themselves from exploitation. However, Weber
built on Marx s theory and believed that Social Class was built on more than property and wealth,
Weber argued that social class is also determined by someone s power and prestige exemplified in his
