The Wieliczka Salt Mine in southern Poland once produced table salt until 2007 and extends over 287 kilometers underground, featuring remarkable rock salt carvings including statues of Saint Barbara and Pope John Paul II as well as replicas of Leonardo's Last Supper and a salt crystal chandelier in the Chapel of Saint Kinga.
