Teenage Pregnancy Essays
Writing an essay on the subject of teenage pregnancy can present a challenging task due to the
multifaceted nature of the topic. This issue encompasses a wide range of social, economic, and
health-related aspects that require careful consideration and research. Tackling the complexities
of teenage pregnancy necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the causes, consequences,
and potential solutions.
Firstly, one must delve into the societal factors contributing to teenage pregnancy, such as
education, socioeconomic status, and cultural influences. Analyzing these aspects requires
extensive research to provide a well-rounded perspective on the subject. Additionally, the
emotional and psychological impacts on the teenagers involved and their families demand
sensitivity and empathy in addressing the human aspect of the issue.
Furthermore, exploring the consequences of teenage pregnancy involves examining the potential
risks to the health of both the young mothers and their infants. This requires an in-depth
understanding of medical and public health literature, adding another layer of complexity to the
research process.
Constructing a well-organized and coherent essay also involves synthesizing diverse perspectives
on teenage pregnancy, considering the viewpoints of healthcare professionals, educators,
policymakers, and affected individuals. Balancing these perspectives while presenting a clear
and compelling argument can be a demanding task.
In conclusion, writing an essay on teenage pregnancy necessitates a multidimensional approach,
requiring extensive research, sensitivity, and the ability to navigate complex issues. However,
addressing this topic is crucial for raising awareness and fostering discussions that contribute to
positive social change.
For assistance with essays and more, a variety of resources are available, including online
platforms like HelpWriting.net, where you can find support for academic writing needs.

Texas Commissioners Court
The counties in Texas have an odd relationship with the state government and the
Texas constitution. The counties are under the state and they are required to handle
duties that the state rants them. However, the counties are strongly against the
involvement of the state government. Brown (2014) states that both countyofficials
and county residents see them as local governments and resent any state interference
(p.110). The counties are charged with the responsibilities of collecting taxes on both
urban and rural property, issues state automobile licenses, enforce state laws, register
voters, conduct elections, and help administer justice. The counties, along with state
and federal governments, conducts health and welfare programs, maintains... Show

The attorney represents the state in civil and criminal cases and advises county
officials on legal questions (Brown, 2014, p. 114). The district attorney, someone who
prosecutes cases, gives advisory opinions, and represents the county in civil cases,
appoints the county attorney (Brown, 2014, p. 114). The district attorney carries a bit
more weight than the county attorney. The district attorney is important because that
person may represent more than one county. The decisions of the county and district
attorneys impact many other county
How To Prevent Lyme Disease
People living in the Northeast area with high incidence need to have an adequate
level of susceptibility. Recognizing risky environments need to be followed by
various type of precautions. Lyme disease is a zoonotic disease that can cause a
range of symptoms including rash, joint pain, neurological and cardiac manifestation.
Knowing the complications and the severity of Lyme disease, people would then be
more proactive in implementing preventive measurements. The CDC recommends
clothing attire be long pants and socks, light colored clothes when outdoors. The
simplest method to prevent Lyme disease is to avoid having contact with ticks when
traveling to Ixodes tick infested areas. That can be accomplished by avoiding
predisposed areas during
The Importance Of Writing And Writing
When I was a little kid my parents and family were always trying to teach me how
to read and write. Its been something I ve known how to do without even thinking
about it. When I was around 6 or 7 years old we would go to Mexico and visit my
grandma, who had lived there at the time, and the neighbor had a granddaughter a
little older than me. She would come over and play, one day I had brought my toys
and some books and she had asked me what they were and I told her they were
books. She went on and explained how she didn t know how to read or write, how
her grandparents couldn t take her to schooldue to them be elderly and how far away
they lived from a school. I was kind of confused because in the United States I hadn t
ever met someone... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I had been writing for a couple years, then when I went to high school, I went into the
dual enrollment path and I hadn t had time to write. I was and am bombarded with
homework and class assignments. Once in a while when I have time, I ll write until I
fall asleep.
I started reading when little of course but I wasn t really into it until the A.R.
testing. A.R. testing is when you have to check out a book from the library and
read it, then answer questions over it, and whatever score you get coordinates with
the point you earn. At first I wasn t too excited about this, but then one day they
announced that they will be taking students who have 50,000 (I can t really
remember) points or more to barns and noble and then to golden coral. To be fairly
honest I was really only in it for the food. So I was determined to get those points,
and go on the trip. I checked out as many books as I could and read them. It turned
out that I liked reading, I kind of loved it. I eventually reached those points, and
was able to go on the trip. After the trip I still kept on reading, it started to become a
part of me.
Seeing and hearing stories of people who aren t literate motivated me to keep on
learning. That little girl from Mexico motivated me to continue learning how to
read and write, so that maybe one day ill be able to teach her. My mom has told me
quite a lot of stories of how her experiences with people who don t know how to read

Globalization And Foreign Aid Syndrome
INTRODUCTION:
For the past four decades the development challenge has been rich world of one
million people facing poor world of five billion people. 80% of the five billion
people live in developing countries. There are a few countries at the bottom billion
that are falling behind and often falling apart. Paul collier through this book takes a
dynamic approach of the problems faced by the bottom billion, the reason why they
are falling behind and what can be done about this. The arguments collier points out
are based on conclusions from his exhaustive list of peer reviewed research. He
successfully answered the questions stated on the cover of book.
This book is divided into 5 parts: the first part introduces the issues. second part
explains the traps of development. third part explains factors of globalization and
foreign aid syndrome fourth part explains the instruments to solve the issues fifth part
explains the agenda for action
KEYPOINTS:
In the golden era of 1990 s when all the countries are developing, the incomes in the
bottom billion declined by 5%. There are about 58 countries that fall into this
category. About 1 billion people live in these countries. 70% of these are in Africa.
The rest in places like Haiti, Bolivia, central asian countries, Cambodia, Yemen,
Burma and north Korea and collier describes these countries as Africa +. The per
capita income of these countries is less than that of most rich world cities.
During 1970 s bottom billion diverged
How Technology Has Made Brick And Mortar Markets
We have grown into a world filled with a tremendous amounts of technology. The
rapid growth in technology has made brick and mortar markets either start to
wither away or it has forced companies to develop their own e commerce branch of
their company to help them stay in the race with the advancement in technology. An
example that stands out to me is the well known retail store Target. Target has not
only created a way for their customers to buy products on line, but they have also
developed an application for their frequent shoppers, a debit card for Target lovers
that want to save 5% instantly, and recently an online service to order products for
pick up in store. Before explaining all the e commerce innovations that Target has
launched throughout the recent years, I believe a brief history of Target is necessary.
Target was actually created by the owner of Dayton s department store, George
Draper Dayton, who in 1962 decided that he wanted to transform his well known
family run department stores into one of the nation s largest discount store chains.
Dayton believed this would demonstrate the visionary leadership that the company
wanted. The leaders of the idea came together to create the name of the store and the
logo. They opened their first store in Roseville, Minnesota in 1962 and then kept
constructing new stores all around the US. Target s first distribution center went up in
Fridley, Minnesota in the year 1969. Their first major development in advertising was
The Spin Of The Electron Essay
The spin of the electron is an intrinsic angular momentum that is separate from the
angular momentum due to its orbital motion. The magnitude of the projection of the
electron s spin along an arbitrary axis is, implying that the electron acts as a
Fermion by the spinstatistics theorem. Like orbital angular momentum, the spin has
an associated magnetic moment, the magnitude of which is expressed as.

2 m ( e )
In a solid the spins of many electrons can act together to affect the magnetic and
electronic properties of a material, for example endowing it with a permanent
magnetic moment as in a ferromagnet.
In many materials, electron spins are equally present in both the up and the down
state, and no transport properties are dependent on spin. A spintronic device requires
generation or manipulation of a spinpolarized population of electrons, resulting in an
excess of spin up or spin down electrons. The polarization of any spin dependent
property X can be written as.
P ( X ) пЂЅ
X п‚ пЂ X п‚Ї
X п‚ пЂ« X п‚Ї
A net spin polarization can be achieved either through creating an equilibrium energy
split between spin up and spin down. Methods include putting a material in a large
magnetic field (Zeeman effect), the exchange energy present in a ferromagnet or
forcing the system out of equilibrium. The period of time that sucha nonequilibrium
population can be maintained is known as the spin lifetime.
In a diffusive conductor, a spin diffusion length can be defined as the distance over

Mad Dogs, Englishmen, and the Errant Anthropologist Reflection
In his book Mad Dogs, English, and the Errant Anthropologist, Raybeck discusses his
observations as he immerses himself in Wakaf Bharu, a city in the state of Kelantan,
Malaysia. Throughout the ethnography, he discusses the various differences that he
observes with the Kelantanese culture and the American culture, while using his prior
knowledge to explain the observations he takes note of. By using these observations,
Raybeck proceeds to answer different Naturalistic Questions which explain how
Raybeck gathers the information and in what ways his studies impact the culture.
Then, he elaborates on the economical aspect of the culture he studies, explaining

Friends such as Yusof, Cik Din, and Encik Hussein aided him in giving a tour of the
village, explaining certain customs that he was not aware of, giving him their life
stories, allowing him to interview them as key informants, individuals who have a
great rapport towards the fieldworker (Omohundro 64), and letting Raybeck
accompany them to social events so that he could study the social behavior of the
natives. As time passes by, his increased participation in the Kelantanese culture
results in a greater rapport within the village. Once incident that really shows this
acquired rapport was when he was studying the lives of the prostitutes in the nearby
capital, Kota Bharu. A villagerwho asks him for a ride to the barbershop but detours
to the nearest whorehouse, only to be seen by Raybeck. When the villager realizes
that Raybeck caught him in the act, he proceeds in lying, trying to establish a
reason for this sudden detour. Raybeck notes how this scene starts to show how his
status changing from being an outsider through the act of lying, because He notices
the change immediately as described from this section and it shows how a simple
act of lying was able to show Raybeck s increasing rapport vividly. The challenges
the Raybeck faces are the ethical issues involving the reporting of certain information.

Censorship in Schools Essay
Censorship in Schools
There has recently been a renewed interest and passion in the issue of censorship. In
the realm of the censorship of books in schools alone, several hundred cases have
surfaced each year for nearly the past decade. Controversies over which books to
include in the high school English curriculum present a clash of values between
teachers, school systems, and parents over what is appropriate for and meaningful to
students. It is important to strike a balance between English that is meaningful to
students by relating to their lives and representing diversity and satisfying worries
about the appropriateness of what is read. This burden often falls on teachers. The

Censorship can take different shapes depending on the public school system: Schools
can give teachers a list of acceptable books to teach, just provide guidelines, or
leave it up to the teachers to judge which books are appropriate (Agee, 1999).
Teachers are often very nervous about including texts that are not traditional or
specifically approved by the school, especially because of the highly publicized cases
of teachers whose careers have been ruined because of censorship debates in courts
and school systems (Agee, 1999).
First Amendment Rights Relating to the Censorship of Books
Censorship cases often bring about debates over students first amendment rights.
Students first amendment rights are important to preserve so that students can not
be excluded from meaningful works or literature. It is understandable for the
government to design educational plans as a way to get its voice into classrooms,
but the truth promoting function of the First Amendment provides no reason,
however, to question the right of students to explore a variety of ideas and
perspectives, and to form and express ideas of their own (Brown, 1994, p. 30).
Schools already place a restriction on religious material or material addressing current
political controversy (Brown, 1994).
Censors typically feel as though the subject material of controversial books in the
high school English curriculum is too much for teenagers to handle (Shen, 2002).
Leatherback Sea Turtle Research Paper
The leatherback sea turtle or lute turtle is scientifically referred to as Dermochelys
coriacea and is the largest living reptiles and marine turtle. The leatherback sea
turtle is apart of the Dermochelyidae family and is the only living species in the
genus Dermochelys. The leatherback sea turtle can grow up to seven feet and
surpass 2,000 pounds making it the largest turtle on the globe. The ancestry of the
reptilian species can be traces back more than 100 million years and has been found
in each ocean with the exception of the Arctic and Antarctic, be that as it may, the
lute turtle population has been declining rapidly in numerous parts of the world.

Because of the leatherback shell rareness its carapace is secured by skin and a slick
substance. Leatherbacks have a distinctive system of blood supple to their bones and
cartilage. This distinctive system allows them to maintain a certain body temperature
which gives them the capability of staying a few degrees above the water
temperature, this allows them to cope with lower water temperature like a mammal.
The lute turtle is also able to plunge deeper than any other marine turtle with a depths
of up to 1,280 meters and has the ability to stay submerged for up to 85 minutes.
Research done one the leatherback turtle s DNA shows that Atlantic and Pacific
inhabitants has inherently distinct ancestries of a sole species. The nesting Pacific
inhabitants are divided into two (eastern and western) genetically distinct inhabitants.
The Pacific eastern population can be found of the shorelines of Florida and the
western population can be located on the California coast living in small numbers.
The settling and birth season ranges from mid February through mid November and
because the ocean turtles are defenseless against human changes to the marine
environment their settling at shorelines is proving to be difficulty. This review article
discusses the taxonomy, classification, evolution, anatomy and reproduction of the

Rethinking Cogs
Rethinking COGs
Military Counter Insurgency Operations (COIN) in Afghanistan and Iraq has
further complicated our understanding of COGs. Current U.S. Army doctrine
defines COG as, the source of power that provides moral or physical strength,
freedom of action, or will to act. My personal issue with the definition is that it
implies there can only be one COG. I disagree with this logic because in today s
interconnected world, I believe there can be more than one COGs.
Today s conflict environments are often asymmetric, decentralized and interconnected
via the internet. These factors lead to multiple COGs that fall along the lines of
structural/operational and ideological/moral. These variations of COGs are not
separate, but mutually supporting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, I believe the differences are because individuals are discussing different
conflict topics. Today s conflict environments are unlike what Clausewitz knew at the
time. Yes, many tactics still apply, but the conflict zones today are different. Conflict
zones today are increasingly asymmetric, decentralized and interconnected via the
internet.
Our textbooks define COG as, the set of characteristics, capabilities, and sources of
power from which a system derives its moral or physical strength, freedom of action
and will to act. To have practical application of targeting COGs, I believe we should
have multiple COGs. Today s conflict environments lead to COGs that fall along the
lines of structural and ideological/moral lines.
Your example of American support following the attacks on 9/11 would fall into the
Moral COG category and American Military power would be a structural COG. To
effectively defeat America, our adversaries would have to target both to truly defeat
us. If our adversaries only target one COG then they degrade our capabilities, but
they do not defeat us.

Electrical Functions Of Plant And Animal Cells
Among the various transport systems involved in basic cellular functions in plant and
animal cells, anion channels play a key role in various physiological functions. This
include cell osmoregulation, cell signalling, plant nutrition and compartmentalization
of metabolites and metal tolerance (reference). In plants, anion channels are reported
to be found in plasma membrane, tonoplast, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria and
chloroplasts. Plasma membrane channels have been the best characterized till date
compared to those located in other membranes.
How do they work?
Ion channels in general work like a switch mechanism namely open and close state
according to the factors that control their gating. When an ion channel is open,
massive ion fluxes occur based on their electrochemical gradient. Rapid development
in understanding of ion channels came into light when patch clamping technique was
developed by Neher and Sakmann in the late 1970 s. The electrophysiological
properties of plant cell membranes started being extensively studied even before the
genes encoding anion channels were identified. This is evident from the first anion
channel structure being determined in bacteria only in 2002.
At plant cellular membrane level, the highly negative membrane potential (below 100
mV) and the intracellular anion accumulation dictate anion efflux through anion
channels when they are at open state. In cases of carboxylic anions such as malate
and citrate, the pH gradient which is
A Clean, Well-Lighted Place
Out of the short stories that I wrote about, the one that best follows Faulkner s dictum
would have to be A Clean, Well Lighted Place . This story is about connecting with
others, even if through commiseration. Though the people wallowing about the bar
are lonely and feel that they have nothing to go home to, they have each other.
Knowing that you are not alone, that is something. They endure the hardships and
loneliness of their everyday lives and end their day amongst people such as the older
waiter, who take pity on them because they have experienced the very same feelings.
For me, this story begged the question: if you have nothing, but share that feeling of
nothingness with many others, does it make it something? I felt that this story

The dispute over the true authorship of the First Folio of Shakespeare s Plays (sole
authorship or a partnership of genius like Lennon and McCartney)?
Debate over the true authorship of the First Folio of William Shakespeare s plays
began from the day of its publication (and had been running in the background for
many years up until then). The debate had been fuelled partly by an analysis of
William Shakespeare s own character, background, education and what little was
known of his life and travels; also by Shakespeare s participation in a conspiracy to
steal part of the De Vere estate (at a time when the whole earldom was in question

Robert Greene Mastery Summary
In the video presentation Mastery , the author, Robert Greene give us an idea of
some of the concepts that he discusses in deep in his book. The author explains, in
life many times we need to solve problems, create a project or lead one, and along
the way we need to make decision to complete that project. The problem is we
always go thru the same path, we make decisions from what we know at that
moment our comfort zone. The author estate that when we finish the project or
solved a problem we have the sensation that something is missing and we feel we
can do it better (Robert Grenne, Mastery, Talk at Google). Greene says that the
creativity comes thru a process and this process begins with a critical first step of
choosing a field or a subject to persuade (Robert Grenne, Mastery, Talk at Google).

The American Constitution And The Bill Of Rights
The Enlightenment was an eighteenth century scholarly development moved in
France that had enduring repercussions all through Europe and America. Addressing
conventional teachings and qualities denoted the Enlightenment; there was a
prominent propensity towards independence and accentuation on the thoughts of
human advance. The American Constitution and the Bill of Rights are both results of
the Enlightenment and thoughts of the philosophes, specifically John Locke.

of the seventeenth century, both had confidence in a Social Contract and they both
distributed books that were generally perused. Thomas Hobbes talked about and built

In Locke s hypothesis any chose official who does not hold fast to the agreement
ought to be expelled from office, by any methods fundamental, and supplanted with
somebody who will respect every legitimate contract amongst individuals and

John Locke and Thomas Hobbes each supported human instinct and government amid
the seventeenth century. John Locke advanced a hopeful perspective of human
instinct in which they lived under a legislature that ensured the privileges of the
general population; Thomas Hobbes distributed his point of view of the human soul
as negative, trusting the best way to battle its evilness by entire concealment under a
flat out ruler.Locke had a positive perspective of human instinct, respected them in a
condition of nature as animals of reason and fundamental goodwill. Locke censured
abolitionism an administration that must be in charge of and receptive to the worries
of the represented, enter the agreement to safeguard the common privileges of life,
freedom, and property; the general population have the privilege to oust any
administration who doesn t carry out their employment Thomas Hobbes was an
English logician from Malmesbury. He wound up plainly acclaimed when his book,
Leviathan, made the establishment of the political theory from the West. Hobbes
could collect a few acknowledgments. He was the champion of absolutism for the
sovereign. Not just that, he significantly contributed in various subjects.
Strategies For Independence
5 Big Steps Parents Can Take To Help Their Kids Gain More Independence For
Preschool From social skills to language skills and all kinds of problem solving
techniques, your little one is in for some big learning when they enter a preschool
program, but they could face challenges if the haven t acquired enough
independence. Although it s your paternal instinct to take care of and control
everything in their developing lives, independence is what s going to help them
succeed and excel, once they re on their own in the classroom. Here are five
important steps you can take to encourage more independence, in the most caring and
supportive way: 1. Raise The Bar With Your Expectations Expecting more from your

As hard as it is to just stand by and watch your child, whether they re succeeding or
not, they need that space to learn, evolve and experiment, or else they re always
going to be looking for you to rescue them. Entering any preschool program, your
child won t have the luxury of constant individual attention, meaning they will have
no choice but to sink or swim. Since you want them to swim, start giving them
room to self resolve issues now, while they still have you as a safety net. Before
long, they ll understand that if they want some problems solved, they have to put
on their thinking caps, use patience and take matters into their own little hands. If
it seems hard for you to cease the hoovering, just wait until you feel the total
exhilaration of watching your child accomplish something all on their own; it s
such a breath taking moment for parents, you ll automatically start giving them
more room to act independently in many instances. 3. Assign A Simple Job To
Your Child You don t realize how much your child depends on you for everything,
until you ask them to do something on their own. They might look at you as if you
re perfectly out of your mind or they might even cry about the new task, but being a
responsible, working member of a team in your house is going to go a long way
toward helping your child succeed in a busy classroom. Give them a simple job they
must tend to daily, showering them with affection and praise when they accomplish
National Identity Cards and Citizens Right to Privacy
The article, National Identity Cards Strange Liberty, Banish Privacy by Charles
Levendosky, implies that Identity Cards give us a false sense of security. The
system would not prevent terrorists from using fake documents to get a national
identity card and all citizens private information would be shared with government
agencies and commercial organizations, therefore all personal information can be
easily accessed through a computer system. This would result in a surveillance
society with many obstacles due to human errors and leaving citizens with no
privacy and freedom to be themselves. I agree with the author and I am against
national ID cards primarily because they would violate citizens right to privacy. It is

These documents are easily forged. There also needs to be a security system if the
card gets lost. Human errors and sloppy ID checks at airports and government
buildings are guaranteed to have failures. Then there are the interruptions and
delays caused by identity checks creating traffic jam in office lobbies, airports,
hospital waiting rooms and shopping malls. It is unreasonable to expect people to
carry the identity card at all times, for example, at the beach, while dancing at a
club, while exercising, etc. Innocent people would end up in trouble with the
authorities if they do not show their card. Another concern is the age the cards are
issued. Are five year old children required to carry them and keep them safe at
school and in the playground? A national ID system requires an immense database
of private and sensitive information on every person that can be instantaneously
accessible from airline check in, police cars, schools, etc. As stated in the article by
Charles Levendosky, The information the AAMVA would like to have on these
identity cards goes far beyond name, address, Social Security number, birth date,
weight, height, hair and eye color. The proposal would include medical and
disability information as well as encoded biometric identifiers like retinal scans and
fingerprints. The security risks are enormous. How do we keep a database of this
size secure,
Pachucos Research Paper
There are many characteristics of Pachucos. Write down three characteristics found in
the chapter. Vigil states that the Pachucos characteristics involved dress, manners,
and social attitudes, and Pachucos took much pride in their creations (220). Further,
the zoot suit (a suit that the hip urban crowd wore in the 1940s) became the Pachuco,
with male and female versions (Vigil 220). Consequently, I think that is interesting
that the Pachucos had a suit that represents them characteristic wise. Moreover, I can
only think of a few clothing characteristics that represent Americans, but not a special
suit. Furthermore, the second characteristic is The Pachuco dialect, for example,
although it included Hispanicized English, Anglicized Spanish, and invented words
in Nahuatl and Archaic Spanish, was mainly made up of Calo Spanish gypsy slang,
supposedly popularized by bullfighters (221). Furthermore, I think it is interesting
that the Pachucos had a Spanish gypsy slang because I have never heard of Spanish

include the words like Ay te watcho, which means I ll be watching you, chante,

argot, often created by adding a Spanish sound at the beginning or end of an English
word (cookiar, watchiar, parkiar, marketa, and so on) (Vigil 220). Indeed, that is
extremely interesting that the languages were combined, I feel like sometimes in
America people will try to imitate another language by combining it with the English
language. For example, people in America will try to imitate the way Asians speak

The Life Of Malcolm X
The life of Malcolm X, who was murdered forty years ago this month, spanned a
trajectory from oppression and victimization to inchoate rebellion and revolutionary
autonomy. His was a voyage from resistance to an informed radicalism. It was a
journey from which he ultimately gathered political and historical insight which,
combined with his tools of persuasion and skills at leadership, made him at the time
of his death arguably the most dangerous figure in this country s history to confront
its ruling class. For us, forty years later, Malcolm s life is also informative: both about
the destructive encounters that Africans, Asians, Latins, and indigenous peoples have
had with this country, its culture and its history, and how deeply domestic... Show

A junkie himself, he became a burglar and, inevitably, was caught, convicted of
multiple crimes, and sentenced by a Massachusetts court to ten years in prison. There,
in events movingly recounted in The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Malcolm went
through a kind of conversion, curing himself of his drug addictions and a propensity
to extreme violence. Malcolm fortuitously met a long serving ex thief who
introduced him to the prison s uncommonly well stocked library, which became his
university. It was there that his intellectual odyssey began. He read everything, from
philosophy, history, and fiction to the words (all of them, in alphabetical order) in
the Merriam Webster College Dictionary. He also encountered the sacred texts of
Christianity and Islam, and, in 1948, was converted to the faith of the Nation of Islam
, the Black Muslims.

Qualities Of The Transformational Leadership Of

The Transformational Leadership of Alexander Hamilton
The concept of transformational leadership is relatively modern when compared to
Alexander Hamilton s vision of an energetic executive (Pandey Wright, 2010). First
defined in the 1970 s (Daft, 2015), transformational leadership traditionally refers to
leaders in the private sector, not government service (Pandey Wright, 2010). However,
the vision and accomplishments of Alexander Hamilton helped create both the
financial and public administration systems we use today (Chernow, 2004). His
leadership helped transform a fledgling assortment of individual states into a unified
sovereign democracy.
Qualities of Transformational Leaders Belle Nicolai of Bocconi University, writing in
the Journal of Public Administration Research Theory, identifies four characteristics
of transformational leaders:
1.Inspirational Motivation
2.Idealized Influence
3.Intellectually Stimulation
4.Individualized Consideration First, transformational leaders must inspire their
followers by providing a vision and encouraging them to achieve it. The key to
inspirational motivation is effective communication. It is not enough to simply have
an idea; a transformational leader needs to be to articulate their vision in a way that
compels followers to adopt it as their own (Pandey Wright, 2010). Second, the leader
must be charismatic and of strong moral character. This is necessary to gain the trust
and confidence of their followers

Darwin once hypothesized that humans evolved from an ape like ancestor and that
those ancestors most likely originated in Africa since the majority of the great apes
lived there. Unfortunately, Darwin s hypothesis was ignored for reasons such as
people (e.g. Europeans) not liking of having African ancestors not to mention the lack
of evidence did not help in supporting such hypothesis. Thus, finding the missing link
between apes and humans was of great important it still is. Thankfully, through
extensive research many scientists have been able to determine a clade called
Hominin [7]. This clade contains humans as well as their most closely related
relatives. Moreover, Hominin was derived from morphological, molecular and some

Understanding The Conflict Resolution Strategy Essay
Healthy Conflict Resolution Strategy
Conflicts are an inevitable part of human life. Whether they happen in personal lives
or within organizations, it is human nature to be involved in conflicts. Workplace
conflicts, such as the one in the current situation with Dr. Jones and Susan, can result
in negative consequences if they are not handled adequately. Some of these
consequences may include irreparable damage to the relationships and disrupt
teamwork, becoming an overall detriment to the organization. However, if the conflict
is managed properly it can bring the problems to light and motivates the conflicted
individuals to work together to find a solution that is agreed upon (Omisore Abiodun,
2014). Understanding the Conflict
The first step for a manager would be to understand the conflict at hand. To recap,
Susan is fed up with Dr. Jones because she believes he is constantly cutting corners in
his position by leaving early, coming in late, or not coming in at all. According to
Omisore and Abiodun (2014), there are three different classifications of conflicts:
Relationship conflicts, task conflicts, and process conflicts. A relationship conflict is
when there is a dispute between individuals that may include clashing of personalities
or annoyance which can lead to feelings of frustration, mistrust, and even resentment.
Task conflicts happen when there are incompatibilities about the contents of tasks or
work goals. Process conflicts arise when there are disagreements
A Vindication Of The Rights Of Women
America has roots deeply ingrained in sexism; a great illustration is that fact that it
was not until 1920 that women were granted suffrage. To put that in perspective, in
the United States, women have been voting for less than 100 years. With Mary
Wollstonecraft s book, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with Strictures on
Political and Moral Subjects being published in 1792 and launching 19th century
feminism and the fight for women s rights going since then, many would think that
equality would be here by now.Unfortunately, it is not. However, women did
receive suffrage in the United States on August 26, 1920. The road to getting there,
however, was a long and rough one. In response to Charles Maurice de Talleyrand
PГ©rigord s 1791 report to the French National Assembly that had stated that the
only education a woman should receive is one the domestic nature, Wollstonecraft
wrote A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. In this piece she talks of women in a
seemingly abstract way as she does not apply her reasonings to only British women
or women of the 18th century. She says that women should also be educated so they
can have opportunities to contribute in society. She tells of the fact that society will
collapse without educated women as they have influence over young children as
mothers. Wollstonecraft also writes, taught from their infancy that beauty is woman s
sceptre, the mind shapes itself to the body, and, roaming round its gilt cage, only
seeks to adorn

Plagiarism In College Essay
Plagiarism in College Writing Introduction Plagiarism occurs in many forms. Self
plagiarism and inadvertent plagiarism are two forms of plagiarism. Students
plagiarize for many reasons. Self plagiarism is a form of plagiarism that is difficult
to detect and often over looked. Inadvertent plagiarism is often caused by sloppy
work and poor citation preparation skills. Proper education and practicing citations
along with the use of online tools will assist the student in preparing citations. Self
plagiarism Self plagiarism is perhaps one of the most common but most overlooked
forms of plagiarism. Simply put, self plagiarism involves the handing in of the same

To avoid inadvertent plagiarism students should learn and practice these skills
until they are second nature. Conclusion Avoiding plagiarism in academic writing
is something that must be taken seriously by both faculty and students. Many
online tools exist that can be used to avoid plagiarism, both for the student and the
faculty member. As simple as plagiarism is to do, plagiarizing is just as easy to get
caught. Students who resort to plagiarism during their college years do so to due
to laziness or even poor time management. All this is being done when the students
should be trying to learn to be better writers. But by plagiarizing they are only
hurting themselves, when they will not be able to write successfully a paper of
any kind when asked to do so. Learning to be a successful writer is a crucial part of
the college experience. Students who do not learn to become effective writers will
feel the effects of this after they finish college and enter the working world.
Graduates will soon learn and wish that they had taken the time to build their
writing skills while in school. Becoming an effective writer and avoiding
plagiarism is sometimes a difficult task. The rewards in the end can be very fruitful.
Businesses often call upon employees to use their college writing skills on a daily
basis. The Owl at Purdue states Give credit to researchers who have come before you

Various Approaches Of System Analysis
Various Approaches for Systems Analysis and Design Introduction First, we look
what is the difference between system analysis and system design. System analysis is
a problem solving technique that decomposes the system into its component pieces
and system design is a complimentary problem solving technique that reassembles the
component pieces of the system back into a complete system. When we are
developing an information system, most organizations use a standard of steps. The
steps are called development lifecycle(SDLC). SDLC consists of phases such as
planning, analysis, implementation, design, and maintenance. Analysis phase is
where you take a closer look and study the current system. The design phase, analysts
design all aspects of the system, specifying on the system from input and output
screens to database, computers, and report processes. About System Analysis and
System Design There are a lot of technical activities that include: coding, design,

Public Restroom Controversy
I live in the metropolitan area of Washington D.C., and recently there has been some
controversy over transgenders using public restrooms. This is a moral issue because
it is a form of discrimination on transgenders. There are laws that have been put into
place to protect them, and to give them rights to use the restroom of which they
identify by. Recently a high schoolstudent by the name of Galvin Grimm, in Virginia
sued his county schoolboard. Galvin Grimm is a transgender male that was born a

because he decided to identify as a male his freshman year of high school. Galvin

Parents were concerned that if schools made this okay, then it would violate their

Social definition of aging and the elderly It is considered senior to any person who
is 65 or older. However, it is necessary to warn about the arbitrariness of this
decision: why are not estimated 60 years, or 70, as the lower limit when
classifying this population group?. The relieved exercise of combining from the
age of 65 to the elderly with the retirees cannot be taken as a solid criterion since it
has become a common practice in our societies to invite many workers to leave the
labor market at a later age early; not forgetting that there are plenty of people who
never retire because, either materially or formally, they have never been inserted in
such a market. In any case, does anyone who has 65 years of age respond to the
same sociological profile (characteristics such as his health, educational level,
economic position, family network, even his appearance) than the one who had the
same age a couple of decades ago ?. Absolutely. In addition to being arbitrary, it is
an artificial decision because no one gets up one morning being adult and the next

The Difference Between Old, Old And New Imperialism
Imperialism which is defined as the extension of a country s power and influence
through colonisation, use of military force, or other similar means occurred in
history during two different time periods. The first bout of imperialism which is
often referred to as old imperialism occurred between 1492 and 1800 while the new
imperialismtranspired between 1870 and 1914 (Scammell, 2004). Although the two
movements had some similarities, there were several differences starting with the
motivation behind each wave of imperialism and extending to the economic,
ideological, and political differences (Bush, 2006). Those differences are the reasons
why the two waves of imperialism are often classified as Old and New . This essay

New imperialism was motivated by the increased production demands created as a
result of the industrial revolution, technological developments in communication and
transportation and the wave of extreme nationalism (Seton Watson, 1961). During
that time period, the acquisition of new territories was encouraged as a means of
expanding profit by investing capital in the various territories (Seton Watson, 1961).
In order to meet the constantly growing demands brought on by the industrial
revolution, imperialist countries sought to expand their territories even further
(Seton Watson, 1961). One major benefit of the expansion was an increase in
amount of raw materials available. Another benefit of acquiring territories included
cheap labour which was a necessity due to the expanding industries (Seton Watson,
1961). Economic growth was another benefit of territorial expansion as there were
more markets to trade with. This second wave of imperialism encouraged
imperialist countries to take political control of their colonies (Seton Watson, 1961).
They created new governments that would also benefit them economically as the
local leaders would no longer have to be paid for their provision of raw materials
like they were under the cash and carry system implemented during the first wave of
imperialism. Western imperialist nations believed that they were far more
##bolic Implications Of JesusExorcism In The Bible
In the synoptic gospels, Jesus exorcisms are portrayed as one of the major acts in
Jesus mission to the kingdom of God. The gospels not only narrate Jesus casting
out the demons and cleansing the possessed bodies, but also implicitly suggests the
controversy he evokes among the Jewish and Roman authorities of Judea and
Galilee. The context of New Testament Gospels is deeply rooted in the Greco
Roman world and as such paints the background of the Jesus actions and messages.
Several scholarly publications that analyze biblical texts from the social science
perspective have established a relationship between the politics and religion of the
ancient world.
The aim of this paper is to assess the events of demon possession and exorcism
narrated in the Bible not from a theological perspective but from sociopolitical
standpoint. Drawing references from scholarly publications on Bible, this paper
would investigate the symbolic meanings of Jesus exorcism in socio political sphere
of Galilee and Judea at the very beginning of the first century. This paper heavily
relies upon the concepts proposed by Amanda Witmer in her publication Jesus, the
Galilean Exorcist, His Exorcisms in Social and Political Context.
The historically accurate reconstruction of Jesus is extremely improbable. This is
largely due to the limited quantity of resources survived and those that do, New
Testament Gospels, are written under the lens of religious followers. As such, there
exists great challenge in
The Importance Of Multilingualism As An Official
Language
Every nation should set multilingualism as their main objective. There are many
benefits both at an individual level as well as at state level for people to be
multilingual. Firstly, knowing multiple languages helps us to adapt into and interact
in this globalised world we live in. Secondly, being able to express ourselves in a
languagewe identify ourselves most with, and have the strongest knowledge of, is a
human right.
It is important to make a distinction between a national language and an official
language before discussing any further. National language is a language associated
with a particular country where it is recognised as a symbol of national identity (Joan
Swann, 2004) whereas an official language can be defined as a language which is
used for political, legal and administrative communications within a given political
territory. (Joan Swann, 2004) This essay will focus on national languages and their
importance across the globe from small communities to national level without
overruling the importance of having official language(s) helping to run governments.
Due to globalisation, the world nowadays is significantly interconnected
economically, technologically and culturally. Even though globalisation is not a new
phenomenon, and can be argued to have started already in the 1500s when the
transatlantic exploration and consolidation of European hegemony began, the pace
and the scope of it is greater than everВІ (Ruth Wodak, 2011). Consequently, we
Value Of Bravery In Beowulf
One of the oldest epics of the time is Beowulf which reflects on the Danish time
period. The unknown author reflects on the daily lives and beliefs of the Danes.
Through the author s eyes, we are able to see a small glimpse of the way these
people lived. It explains to us what specific values were vital to the Danish culture.
Even though it was quite different from today, numerous ideas are similar to this time
period. In Beowulf, the Danish are represented by the way the author uses specific
traits to relate back to the morals, values, and cultures of the time.
A value the Danish express during the story is bravery. Beowulf displays enormous
courage as he completes each journey while defeating evil. No matter how hard the
task becomes, he does not show a single ounce of fear:
Dripping through my enemies blood. I drove
Five great giants into chains, chased
All of that race from the earth. I swam
In the blackness of night, hunting monsters
Out of the ocean, and killing them one
By one; death was my errand and the fate (quoted in Beowulf 153 158)
As described above, Beowulf completes many challenging tasks without becoming
panicked. Due to his bravery, he has the ability to defeat the unknown. As McNary
states, Brave before all else is this Beowulf, with the bravery of a young, strong,
unsoftened people, the physical courage which not only meets an enemy
unshrinkingly but seeks him out to fight with him alone and weaponless. This is the
very rapture and madness of

Mezcala Bridge Research Project The considerations of the bridge for the high
speed rail coming through the a.v. is when designing high speed rail to the antelope
valley. The considerations are is that the kids or young adults of the antelope valley
area are able to go to colleges in san diego and back home to the AV in the matter of
just minutes. The bridge is to get over the highway to get to L.A. so they will be less
traffic to L.A. There are some things that we also need to know that we just need to
know if it cost just enough.
The Mezcala Bridge or Mezcala Solidaridad is the thirteenth largest bridges in the
world. The location of the bridge are in the state of Guerrero in Mexico on Highway
95. The beginning of the Mezcala Bridge was started at 1989 and with a total
length of 891 m (2,923 ft) and six uneven spans completed in 1993. Being in service
since 1994, no major disasters has touched the bridge s existence. The bridge still
stands as strong as the day it was build.
This cable stayed bridge spans across the Balsas River known locally as the
Mezcala River close to the western Pacific coast of the country. The name of the
bridge is obviously related to the river it hovers. It is located at 221 kilometers of
the Autopista del Sol connecting to the city of Cuernavaca in the state of Morelos
with Acapulco, in Guerrero state coast. The valley passes over the bridge is

Down Syndrome Vs Adhd
Down Syndrome vs. ADHD Many children and young adults are born with Down
Syndrome and ADHD(Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) even though they
have significant difference between them. Down Syndrome is when a child is born
with a full or partial extra copy of chromosome 21(ndss.org). ADHD(Attention Deficit
HyperactivityDisorder) is a mental disorder an individual develops in their childhood
and continues through adulthood(www.nimh.nih.gov). Down syndrome is one of the
most common birth defect a child is born with. Also ADHD is one of the most
common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood.
There are three types of types of Down syndrome, with the most prevalent one being
Trisomy 21 (www.ndss.org). The other two are Translocation... Show more content

They could have all the different symptoms from the different types of ADHD. These
symptoms could also change over time throughout the child s life. They could have
the symptoms from Predominantly Inattentive Presentation, where they can t focus
on little details. On the other hand they could also have the symptoms from
Predominantly Hyperactive Impulsive Presentation, where they can be very restless.
The learning process for children who have ADHD can and will have a hard time
focusing in class or on anything. They will be easily distracted by anything like
something so small as someone to dropping a pencil to something big as a child
laughing very loudly. The child will not be able to stand being still for a certain
amount of time before they come very fidgety. The child could have a very hard
time in school trying to focus in a simple task when they could be distracted very
easily.
The learning process between Down Syndrome and ADHD have a huge significant
difference between them. They do not have the same learning process at all, children
with down syndrome actually have to learn how to speak and to communicate.
ADHD have to learn how to be still be able to focus. They each have to learn a
different ways then anything other normal
Liberalism and Its Key Values
In the study of Liberalism and its key values, those of Democracy and Social
Justice have often been posited as providing the world with an ideology and
political philosophy which can guarantee peace between its adherents. The
Democratic Peace has been formulated in order to illustrate a world in which
democratic states do not engage in war between each oth er as fellow democrats live
with a stable and historically unique form of government. This essay shall explore
whether it is acceptable that one can portray liberal democracyin par ticular as
universally applicable in a standard form. This is a central tenet of the democratic
peace theory and as such requires questioning to determine whether or not liberalism
is indeed a force peace in world politics. Furthermore, it shall look at many pieces
of postcolonial International Relations (IR) theory, engage with democratic peace
theory directly, as well as some contemporary examples of liberal actions in order
to assess the peaceful state, thus far, of liberalism. It is my argument that although
the democratic peace theory does portray the best intentions of those Liberal States
who actively engage in world politics, it is not, howev er, accurate in portraying
liberalism as a whole as peaceful. Instead by accepting and discuss ing the peace
between liberal nations, it fails to highlight and in fact sometimes seeks to hide the
more aggressive and warring actions of liberals against those from outside of the para
digm.

Kennedy s Assassination
On November 22, 1963, the 35th president of the United States, John Fitzgerald
Kennedy was assassinated while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas where he
was campaigning for the next presidential election. John F. Kennedy, born on May
29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts lead a short, but effective presidency where
his goal was a world of law and free choice, banishing the world of war and
coercion. His administration thus saw the beginning of new hope for both the equal
rights of Americans and the peace of the world. Some would say that he was one of
the most loved presidents in the history of the United State of America, which raises
the question, why would someone assassinate John F. Kennedy? And better yet, who
would assassinate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Do Animals Dream Research Paper
Do Animals Dream Introduction: Having various animals growing up I have
always wondered what they were doing while they slept. Did they just lay there in
a deep sleep or could they have the capability of having a dream? This is a question
I have never answered over the years and would like to explore now to find out the
answer. I ve watched different pets throughout my life while they slept but could
never tell if they were dreaming. I noticed that different kinds of animals sleep in
different positions and I ask myself, does this effect if animals dream? When I was
younger, I had several cats, some inside and some outside, and they all acted
differently. The cats who stayed indoor would find a corner or something soft to...

I could be wrong but who knows I could be right. When Robin was five years old
she got two hamsters which were very interesting. They slept all day long and were
up all night long. They slept on each other in every weird position they could come
up with. They were always very still while they slept so I personally don t think
they dreamed. Shortly after we got the hamsters they died so we got our next pet
which were some goldfish. I would like to tell you about them but they died also
two days after we got them. Our last pet, which has survived, is a Chihuahua. She
is the funniest little dog that there is. She does sleep a lot, either on the couch,
under the computer and at night, she has to be next to a human body. She will
bark and even move while she sleeps which I believe is a sign of her dreaming
about something. If she moved as much as she does when she is awake she would
be hilarious when she slept but unfortunately she doesn t. My experience with all
my pets throughout the years have given me the curiosity of whether they were
dreaming or not. Although, I have observed all my pets sleeping, I still have
questions that I don t know the answers to. This is the purpose of my paper, to find
those answers. Questions that I would like to find out are Do all animals dream or
just some or maybe none at all? How can you tell if animals are dreaming or just
sleeping? If you
The Success In Battle Of Alexander The Great
Many historians often argue that Alexander the Great should be labeled great.
This is due to his success in battles and the influence he had on his followers. This
is also due to the fact that he thought of people as he did the things he did. The
actions of having success in battle, not killing people just to kill them, and looked
for ways he could profit his people, gave him the right to be called great. Alexander
the Great had many success in battle. He conquered many countries and places. He
conquered Persia, Thebes, and India. There were some countries that put up a fight,
but they were no match for Alexander the Great and his army. When he was
conquering Thebes, he had them surrounded. The Thebans were stuck in their cities.
He waited

In addition, the computer generated assignment and a variable block randomisation
method were also used. Although there is no specific mention of similarity of
baseline among groups, in table 1, the 95% confidence intervals of subjects
characteristics was no significant differences. Moreover, all subjects and staff
involved in data interpretation were blinded although there were no specific
comments of concealment of allocation. Unfortunately, therapists administered the
intervention were not blinded. Although the average of completed follow up rates
was 80 % which was not statistically satisfying, considering the long term period of
intervention (18 months), the result of the rate seemed to be acceptable. Also, the
average of drop out rates on 6 months was only 13% and this was a persuasive rate
when analysing the interval validity. Lastly, the outcome measures were clearly
mentioned in the section of the Patients and Methods. Especially, the validity and
procedures of primary measure, which was Western Ontario and McMaster
Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), were systemically described. The
results of among four groups are also statistically compared. Therefore, this study
seems to offer moderate to strong validity of evidence based on the well organised

Pathology Of The Autonomic Nervous System
Introduction
In this report, the symptoms of this patient will be diagnosed, and the causes of them
discussed with reference to the physiology and pharmacology of the autonomic
nervous system.
The Autonomic Nervous System
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the part of the motor division of the
peripheral nervous system (PNS) that controls involuntary processes in the body
(Wieczorek, 2014). Such functions include control of heart rate, gland activity,
smooth muscle contraction and constriction of blood vessels (Biology online.org,
2014). The ANS is divided into two branches, the sympathetic nervous system (SN)
and the parasympathetic nervous system (PN). The SN is responsible for the fight or
flight response, which results in increased preparedness for vigorous activity in
response to exercise or emergency. The PN acts antagonistically to the SN, in that it
produces the opposite effects to those of the SN. Under normal circumstances, the
PN is dominant, and allows processes such as digestion and defecation to occur,
while also conserving energy (Elmhurst.edu, 2014). Most of the visceral organs of the
body are innervated by both sympathetic and parasympathetic neurones, with the
exceptions being sweat glands and the smooth muscle of blood vessels they are only
innervated by sympathetic nerve fibres (Wieczorek, 2014).
In the ANS, a number of different neurotransmitters and receptors are present. In both
the PN and SN, the neurotransmitter at the ganglia is
Epic of Beowulf Essay
Armor in the poem Beowulf
Armor mentioned in the poem Beowulf include helmets and chain mail. There are an
incredible number of references to these battle apparel in the poem, making this topic
of armor a very relevant one to consider.
Helmets are the most dramatic and often quoted item of armor found in Beowulf,
says Catherine M. Hills in Beowulf and Archaeology. Indeed, examining the poem,
one finds copious references to helmets in just the first 400 lines of the poem:
Boar figures gleamed
over plated cheek guards, inlaid with gold;
shining, fire hardened, fierce war masks
guarded their lives (303 6)
iron gray ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both the Benty Grange and Sutton Hoo helmets have boar ornaments on the helmet,
on the eyebrows of the latter. In Beowulf the poet describes the helmets of the Geat
warriors in the poem:
Boar figures gleamed
over plated cheek guards, inlaid with gold (303 4) (Cramp 117)
Representations of helmets in sculpture or in manuscripts indicate that crested
helmets, the Anglo Saxon type of helmet, continued in use through the tenth century
(Hils 304).
We will return to Benty Grange and Sutton Hoo shortly, but first let s comment on
the other form of armor: mail link aka chain mail aka mail shirts aka war dress aka
battle shirts aka mail, etc. In the first 400 lines of Beowulf, the references to armor
generally, or to mail link/chain mail specifically, actually outnumber the references to
helmets:
I have not heard of a ship so decked
with better war dress, weapons of battle,
swords and mail shirts (38 40)
Armored warriors climbed the prow;
the sea currents eddied; they carried no weapons,
stored them amidships, all the bright ornaments,
stately battle dress (212 15)
Their chain mail clanked,
their bright battle shirts (236 7)

DENIM DAY MAKE A STATEMENT BY WEARING JEANS. Denim Day was
established as a result of a rape that occurred in Italy thirteen years ago. An 18 year
old young lady hired a driving instructor to take driving lessons. The instructor
drove her to an isolated area in the country, and then attacked her. He wrestled with
her until he got one of her legs out of her jeans, raped her, then forced her to drive
back to town. The rapist was arrested and convicted for the crime. However, he later
appealed the conviction, the case made it all the way to Italy s Supreme Court. The
conviction was overturned by a male judge. The judge concluded that because the
victim had on tight jeans, she must have helped the perpetrator take her pants off and

The Controversy Of Selling Knifes
Like many people all over the world I have a hobby, this hobby is to collect knives,
the art of smithing a blade and the craftsmanship that goes into making handles is a
fascination to me. All knives are a legitimate tool under the right circumstances
and have been for hundreds of years, almost anything in our day to day lives could
benefit from knives and the daily carry of them but here in modern Australia most
are illegal for whatever reason. Of course there are the cases of people being injured
or killed by knives but the same can be said for cars and various tools at Bunnings or
Masters.
I understand why the laws are in place but do not necessarily agree with them. I do
not understand why there are limitations on the edged tools we could all benefit
from, all knives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A lot of people will also say that some knives are more dangerous than others, if
that s the case then certainly the big blade Machete is hands down the most
dangerous. People will also say that the smaller of the two is easier to conceal, yet it
is legal to purchase a fixed blade knife with the same blade length as the Griptilian
which can be opened with one hand and comes with a total concealed carry system,
that s right it comes with a sheath that can be attached almost anywhere on your
person, be it clothing or body.
Movies show gangsters and thugs with butterfly knives (balisongs) which is what I
like to collect and switch blades, however statistics show that a lot of knife crime, if
not most, is committed with kitchen knives. Data presented to the British
Parliamentary committee in 2008 showed that kitchen knives were used in logged
crimes ten times more often than the next most common identified
Irony In The Heir
Competition is the process of competing for a prize or advantage. Usually, marriage
and competition are complete opposites. But in this castle, everything about them are
considered the same. The Heir (Kiera Cass), is about a young girl named Eadlyn.

she will have 35 suitors ( young princes), at the castle who will do anything to win

the, two kids (Kile and Eadlyn), have been friends forever and the audience did not

the reader want to read more. Irony is, the expression of one s meaning by using

parts become some of the best parts. In The Heir, irony is used to show a quality

  • 2. Texas Commissioners Court The counties in Texas have an odd relationship with the state government and the Texas constitution. The counties are under the state and they are required to handle duties that the state rants them. However, the counties are strongly against the involvement of the state government. Brown (2014) states that both countyofficials and county residents see them as local governments and resent any state interference (p.110). • 4. The Importance Of Writing And Writing When I was a little kid my parents and family were always trying to teach me how to read and write. Its been something I ve known how to do without even thinking about it. When I was around 6 or 7 years old we would go to Mexico and visit my grandma, who had lived there at the time, and the neighbor had a granddaughter a little older than me. She would come over and play, one day I had brought my toys and some books and she had asked me what they were and I told her they were books. She went on and explained how she didn t know how to read or write, how her grandparents couldn t take her to schooldue to them be elderly and how far away they lived from a school. I had been writing for a couple years, then when I went to high school, I went into the dual enrollment path and I hadn t had time to write. I was and am bombarded with homework and class assignments. Once in a while when I have time, I ll write until I fall asleep. I started reading when little of course but I wasn t really into it until the A.R. testing. A.R. testing is when you have to check out a book from the library and read it, then answer questions over it, and whatever score you get coordinates with the point you earn. At first I wasn t too excited about this, but then one day they announced that they will be taking students who have 50,000 (I can t really remember) points or more to barns and noble and then to golden coral. To be fairly honest I was really only in it for the food. So I was determined to get those points, and go on the trip. I checked out as many books as I could and read them. It turned out that I liked reading, I kind of loved it. I eventually reached those points, and was able to go on the trip. After the trip I still kept on reading, it started to become a part of me. Seeing and hearing stories of people who aren t literate motivated me to keep on learning. That little girl from Mexico motivated me to continue learning how to read and write, so that maybe one day ill be able to teach her. My mom has told me quite a lot of stories of how her experiences with people who don t know how to read and write. My grandpa was one of
  • 5. Globalization And Foreign Aid Syndrome INTRODUCTION: For the past four decades the development challenge has been rich world of one million people facing poor world of five billion people. 80% of the five billion people live in developing countries. There are a few countries at the bottom billion that are falling behind and often falling apart. Paul collier through this book takes a dynamic approach of the problems faced by the bottom billion, the reason why they are falling behind and what can be done about this. The arguments collier points out are based on conclusions from his exhaustive list of peer reviewed research. He successfully answered the questions stated on the cover of book. This book is divided into 5 parts: the first part introduces the issues. second part explains the traps of development. third part explains factors of globalization and foreign aid syndrome fourth part explains the instruments to solve the issues fifth part explains the agenda for action KEYPOINTS: In the golden era of 1990 s when all the countries are developing, the incomes in the bottom billion declined by 5%. There are about 58 countries that fall into this category. About 1 billion people live in these countries. 70% of these are in Africa. The rest in places like Haiti, Bolivia, central asian countries, Cambodia, Yemen, Burma and north Korea and collier describes these countries as Africa +. The per capita income of these countries is less than that of most rich world cities. During 1970 s bottom billion diverged
  • 6. How Technology Has Made Brick And Mortar Markets We have grown into a world filled with a tremendous amounts of technology. The rapid growth in technology has made brick and mortar markets either start to wither away or it has forced companies to develop their own e commerce branch of their company to help them stay in the race with the advancement in technology. An example that stands out to me is the well known retail store Target. Target has not only created a way for their customers to buy products on line, but they have also developed an application for their frequent shoppers, a debit card for Target lovers that want to save 5% instantly, and recently an online service to order products for pick up in store. Before explaining all the e commerce innovations that Target has launched throughout the recent years, I believe a brief history of Target is necessary. Target was actually created by the owner of Dayton s department store, George Draper Dayton, who in 1962 decided that he wanted to transform his well known family run department stores into one of the nation s largest discount store chains. Dayton believed this would demonstrate the visionary leadership that the company wanted. The leaders of the idea came together to create the name of the store and the logo. They opened their first store in Roseville, Minnesota in 1962 and then kept constructing new stores all around the US. Target s first distribution center went up in Fridley, Minnesota in the year 1969. Their first major development in advertising was
  • 7. The Spin Of The Electron Essay The spin of the electron is an intrinsic angular momentum that is separate from the angular momentum due to its orbital motion. The magnitude of the projection of the electron s spin along an arbitrary axis is, implying that the electron acts as a Fermion by the spinstatistics theorem. Like orbital angular momentum, the spin has an associated magnetic moment, the magnitude of which is expressed as. пЃ пЂЅ 3 q пЃЁ 2 m ( e ) In a solid the spins of many electrons can act together to affect the magnetic and electronic properties of a material, for example endowing it with a permanent magnetic moment as in a ferromagnet. In many materials, electron spins are equally present in both the up and the down state, and no transport properties are dependent on spin. A spintronic device requires generation or manipulation of a spinpolarized population of electrons, resulting in an excess of spin up or spin down electrons. The polarization of any spin dependent property X can be written as. P ( X ) пЂЅ X п‚ пЂ X п‚Ї X п‚ пЂ« X п‚Ї A net spin polarization can be achieved either through creating an equilibrium energy split between spin up and spin down. Methods include putting a material in a large magnetic field (Zeeman effect), the exchange energy present in a ferromagnet or forcing the system out of equilibrium. The period of time that sucha nonequilibrium population can be maintained is known as the spin lifetime. In a diffusive conductor, a spin diffusion length can be defined as the distance over

Mad Dogs, Englishmen, and the Errant Anthropologist Essay Mad Dogs, Englishmen, and the Errant Anthropologist Reflection In his book Mad Dogs, English, and the Errant Anthropologist, Raybeck discusses his observations as he immerses himself in Wakaf Bharu, a city in the state of Kelantan, Malaysia. Throughout the ethnography, he discusses the various differences that he observes with the Kelantanese culture and the American culture, while using his prior knowledge to explain the observations he takes note of. By using these observations, Raybeck proceeds to answer different Naturalistic Questions which explain how Raybeck gathers the information and in what ways his studies impact the culture. As time passes by, his increased participation in the Kelantanese culture results in a greater rapport within the village. Once incident that really shows this acquired rapport was when he was studying the lives of the prostitutes in the nearby capital, Kota Bharu. A villagerwho asks him for a ride to the barbershop but detours to the nearest whorehouse, only to be seen by Raybeck. When the villager realizes that Raybeck caught him in the act, he proceeds in lying, trying to establish a reason for this sudden detour. Raybeck notes how this scene starts to show how his status changing from being an outsider through the act of lying, because He notices the change immediately as described from this section and it shows how a simple act of lying was able to show Raybeck s increasing rapport vividly. The challenges the Raybeck faces are the ethical issues involving the reporting of certain information. Personal information that came from the villagers

In the realm of the censorship of books in schools alone, several hundred cases have surfaced each year for nearly the past decade. Controversies over which books to include in the high school English curriculum present a clash of values between teachers, school systems, and parents over what is appropriate for and meaningful to students. It is important to strike a balance between English that is meaningful to students by relating to their lives and representing diversity and satisfying worries about the appropriateness of what is read. Censorship can take different shapes depending on the public school system: Schools can give teachers a list of acceptable books to teach, just provide guidelines, or leave it up to the teachers to judge which books are appropriate (Agee, 1999). Teachers are often very nervous about including texts that are not traditional or specifically approved by the school, especially because of the highly publicized cases of teachers whose careers have been ruined because of censorship debates in courts and school systems (Agee, 1999). First Amendment Rights Relating to the Censorship of Books Censorship cases often bring about debates over students first amendment rights. Students first amendment rights are important to preserve so that students can not be excluded from meaningful works or literature. It is understandable for the government to design educational plans as a way to get its voice into classrooms, but the truth promoting function of the First Amendment provides no reason, however, to question the right of students to explore a variety of ideas and perspectives, and to form and express ideas of their own (Brown, 1994, p. 30). Schools already place a restriction on religious material or material addressing current political controversy (Brown, 1994). Censors typically feel as though the subject material of controversial books in the high school English curriculum is too much for teenagers to handle (Shen, 2002).

The leatherback sea turtle is apart of the Dermochelyidae family and is the only living species in the genus Dermochelys. The leatherback sea turtle can grow up to seven feet and surpass 2,000 pounds making it the largest turtle on the globe. The ancestry of the reptilian species can be traces back more than 100 million years and has been found in each ocean with the exception of the Arctic and Antarctic, be that as it may, the lute turtle population has been declining rapidly in numerous parts of the world. • 11. Rethinking Cogs Rethinking COGs Military Counter Insurgency Operations (COIN) in Afghanistan and Iraq has further complicated our understanding of COGs. Current U.S. Army doctrine defines COG as, the source of power that provides moral or physical strength, freedom of action, or will to act. My personal issue with the definition is that it implies there can only be one COG. I disagree with this logic because in today s interconnected world, I believe there can be more than one COGs. Today s conflict environments are often asymmetric, decentralized and interconnected via the internet. These factors lead to multiple COGs that fall along the lines of structural/operational and ideological/moral. These variations of COGs are not separate, but mutually supporting ... Today s conflict environments are unlike what Clausewitz knew at the time. Yes, many tactics still apply, but the conflict zones today are different. Conflict zones today are increasingly asymmetric, decentralized and interconnected via the internet. Our textbooks define COG as, the set of characteristics, capabilities, and sources of power from which a system derives its moral or physical strength, freedom of action and will to act. To have practical application of targeting COGs, I believe we should have multiple COGs. Today s conflict environments lead to COGs that fall along the lines of structural and ideological/moral lines. Your example of American support following the attacks on 9/11 would fall into the Moral COG category and American Military power would be a structural COG. To effectively defeat America, our adversaries would have to target both to truly defeat us. If our adversaries only target one COG then they degrade our capabilities, but they do not defeat us. WOC
  • 12. Electrical Functions Of Plant And Animal Cells Among the various transport systems involved in basic cellular functions in plant and animal cells, anion channels play a key role in various physiological functions. This include cell osmoregulation, cell signalling, plant nutrition and compartmentalization of metabolites and metal tolerance (reference). In plants, anion channels are reported to be found in plasma membrane, tonoplast, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria and chloroplasts. Plasma membrane channels have been the best characterized till date compared to those located in other membranes. How do they work? Ion channels in general work like a switch mechanism namely open and close state according to the factors that control their gating. When an ion channel is open, massive ion fluxes occur based on their electrochemical gradient. Rapid development in understanding of ion channels came into light when patch clamping technique was developed by Neher and Sakmann in the late 1970 s. The electrophysiological properties of plant cell membranes started being extensively studied even before the genes encoding anion channels were identified. This is evident from the first anion channel structure being determined in bacteria only in 2002. At plant cellular membrane level, the highly negative membrane potential (below 100 mV) and the intracellular anion accumulation dictate anion efflux through anion channels when they are at open state. In cases of carboxylic anions such as malate and citrate, the pH gradient which is

This story is about connecting with others, even if through commiseration. Though the people wallowing about the bar are lonely and feel that they have nothing to go home to, they have each other. Knowing that you are not alone, that is something. They endure the hardships and loneliness of their everyday lives and end their day amongst people such as the older waiter, who take pity on them because they have experienced the very same feelings. For me, this story begged the question: if you have nothing, but share that feeling of nothingness with many others, does it make it something? I felt that this story

Since you want them to swim, start giving them room to self resolve issues now, while they still have you as a safety net. Before long, they ll understand that if they want some problems solved, they have to put on their thinking caps, use patience and take matters into their own little hands. If it seems hard for you to cease the hoovering, just wait until you feel the total exhilaration of watching your child accomplish something all on their own; it s such a breath taking moment for parents, you ll automatically start giving them more room to act independently in many instances. 3. It is unreasonable to expect people to carry the identity card at all times, for example, at the beach, while dancing at a club, while exercising, etc. Innocent people would end up in trouble with the authorities if they do not show their card. The Transformational Leadership of Alexander Hamilton The concept of transformational leadership is relatively modern when compared to Alexander Hamilton s vision of an energetic executive (Pandey Wright, 2010). First defined in the 1970 s (Daft, 2015), transformational leadership traditionally refers to leaders in the private sector, not government service (Pandey Wright, 2010). However, the vision and accomplishments of Alexander Hamilton helped create both the financial and public administration systems we use today (Chernow, 2004). His leadership helped transform a fledgling assortment of individual states into a unified sovereign democracy. Qualities of Transformational Leaders Belle Nicolai of Bocconi University, writing in the Journal of Public Administration Research Theory, identifies four characteristics of transformational leaders: 1.Inspirational Motivation 2.Idealized Influence 3.Intellectually Stimulation 4.Individualized Consideration First, transformational leaders must inspire their followers by providing a vision and encouraging them to achieve it. The key to inspirational motivation is effective communication. It is not enough to simply have an idea; a transformational leader needs to be to articulate their vision in a way that compels followers to adopt it as their own (Pandey Wright, 2010). Second, the leader must be charismatic and of strong moral character. This is necessary to gain the trust and confidence of their followers

Whether they happen in personal lives or within organizations, it is human nature to be involved in conflicts. Workplace conflicts, such as the one in the current situation with Dr. Jones and Susan, can result in negative consequences if they are not handled adequately. Some of these consequences may include irreparable damage to the relationships and disrupt teamwork, becoming an overall detriment to the organization. However, if the conflict is managed properly it can bring the problems to light and motivates the conflicted individuals to work together to find a solution that is agreed upon (Omisore Abiodun, 2014). Understanding the Conflict The first step for a manager would be to understand the conflict at hand. To recap, Susan is fed up with Dr. Jones because she believes he is constantly cutting corners in his position by leaving early, coming in late, or not coming in at all. According to Omisore and Abiodun (2014), there are three different classifications of conflicts: Relationship conflicts, task conflicts, and process conflicts. A relationship conflict is when there is a dispute between individuals that may include clashing of personalities or annoyance which can lead to feelings of frustration, mistrust, and even resentment. Task conflicts happen when there are incompatibilities about the contents of tasks or work goals. Process conflicts arise when there are disagreements

To put that in perspective, in the United States, women have been voting for less than 100 years. With Mary Wollstonecraft s book, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with Strictures on Political and Moral Subjects being published in 1792 and launching 19th century feminism and the fight for women s rights going since then, many would think that equality would be here by now.Unfortunately, it is not. However, women did receive suffrage in the United States on August 26, 1920. The road to getting there, however, was a long and rough one. In response to Charles Maurice de Talleyrand PГ©rigord s 1791 report to the French National Assembly that had stated that the only education a woman should receive is one the domestic nature, Wollstonecraft wrote A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. In this piece she talks of women in a seemingly abstract way as she does not apply her reasonings to only British women or women of the 18th century. She says that women should also be educated so they can have opportunities to contribute in society. She tells of the fact that society will collapse without educated women as they have influence over young children as mothers. Wollstonecraft also writes, taught from their infancy that beauty is woman s sceptre, the mind shapes itself to the body, and, roaming round its gilt cage, only seeks to adorn

To avoid inadvertent plagiarism students should learn and practice these skills until they are second nature. Conclusion Avoiding plagiarism in academic writing is something that must be taken seriously by both faculty and students. Many online tools exist that can be used to avoid plagiarism, both for the student and the faculty member. As simple as plagiarism is to do, plagiarizing is just as easy to get caught. Students who resort to plagiarism during their college years do so to due to laziness or even poor time management. All this is being done when the students should be trying to learn to be better writers. But by plagiarizing they are only hurting themselves, when they will not be able to write successfully a paper of any kind when asked to do so. Learning to be a successful writer is a crucial part of the college experience. Students who do not learn to become effective writers will feel the effects of this after they finish college and enter the working world. Graduates will soon learn and wish that they had taken the time to build their writing skills while in school. Becoming an effective writer and avoiding plagiarism is sometimes a difficult task. The rewards in the end can be very fruitful. Businesses often call upon employees to use their college writing skills on a daily basis. System analysis is a problem solving technique that decomposes the system into its component pieces and system design is a complimentary problem solving technique that reassembles the component pieces of the system back into a complete system. When we are developing an information system, most organizations use a standard of steps. The steps are called development lifecycle(SDLC). SDLC consists of phases such as planning, analysis, implementation, design, and maintenance. Analysis phase is where you take a closer look and study the current system. The design phase, analysts design all aspects of the system, specifying on the system from input and output screens to database, computers, and report processes. The relieved exercise of combining from the age of 65 to the elderly with the retirees cannot be taken as a solid criterion since it has become a common practice in our societies to invite many workers to leave the labor market at a later age early; not forgetting that there are plenty of people who never retire because, either materially or formally, they have never been inserted in such a market. In any case, does anyone who has 65 years of age respond to the same sociological profile (characteristics such as his health, educational level, economic position, family network, even his appearance) than the one who had the same age a couple of decades ago ?. The Difference Between Old, Old And New Imperialism Imperialism which is defined as the extension of a country s power and influence through colonisation, use of military force, or other similar means occurred in history during two different time periods. The first bout of imperialism which is often referred to as old imperialism occurred between 1492 and 1800 while the new imperialismtranspired between 1870 and 1914 (Scammell, 2004). Although the two movements had some similarities, there were several differences starting with the motivation behind each wave of imperialism and extending to the economic, ideological, and political differences (Bush, 2006). New imperialism was motivated by the increased production demands created as a result of the industrial revolution, technological developments in communication and transportation and the wave of extreme nationalism (Seton Watson, 1961). During that time period, the acquisition of new territories was encouraged as a means of expanding profit by investing capital in the various territories (Seton Watson, 1961). In order to meet the constantly growing demands brought on by the industrial revolution, imperialist countries sought to expand their territories even further (Seton Watson, 1961). One major benefit of the expansion was an increase in amount of raw materials available. Another benefit of acquiring territories included cheap labour which was a necessity due to the expanding industries (Seton Watson, 1961). Economic growth was another benefit of territorial expansion as there were more markets to trade with. This second wave of imperialism encouraged imperialist countries to take political control of their colonies (Seton Watson, 1961). They created new governments that would also benefit them economically as the local leaders would no longer have to be paid for their provision of raw materials like they were under the cash and carry system implemented during the first wave of imperialism. Western imperialist nations believed that they were far more

The context of New Testament Gospels is deeply rooted in the Greco Roman world and as such paints the background of the Jesus actions and messages. Several scholarly publications that analyze biblical texts from the social science perspective have established a relationship between the politics and religion of the ancient world. The aim of this paper is to assess the events of demon possession and exorcism narrated in the Bible not from a theological perspective but from sociopolitical standpoint. Drawing references from scholarly publications on Bible, this paper would investigate the symbolic meanings of Jesus exorcism in socio political sphere of Galilee and Judea at the very beginning of the first century. This paper heavily relies upon the concepts proposed by Amanda Witmer in her publication Jesus, the Galilean Exorcist, His Exorcisms in Social and Political Context. The historically accurate reconstruction of Jesus is extremely improbable. This is largely due to the limited quantity of resources survived and those that do, New Testament Gospels, are written under the lens of religious followers. As such, there exists great challenge in

There are many benefits both at an individual level as well as at state level for people to be multilingual. Firstly, knowing multiple languages helps us to adapt into and interact in this globalised world we live in. Secondly, being able to express ourselves in a languagewe identify ourselves most with, and have the strongest knowledge of, is a human right. It is important to make a distinction between a national language and an official language before discussing any further. National language is a language associated with a particular country where it is recognised as a symbol of national identity (Joan Swann, 2004) whereas an official language can be defined as a language which is used for political, legal and administrative communications within a given political territory. Although there is no specific mention of similarity of baseline among groups, in table 1, the 95% confidence intervals of subjects characteristics was no significant differences. Moreover, all subjects and staff involved in data interpretation were blinded although there were no specific comments of concealment of allocation. Unfortunately, therapists administered the intervention were not blinded. Although the average of completed follow up rates was 80 % which was not statistically satisfying, considering the long term period of intervention (18 months), the result of the rate seemed to be acceptable. Also, the average of drop out rates on 6 months was only 13% and this was a persuasive rate when analysing the interval validity. Lastly, the outcome measures were clearly mentioned in the section of the Patients and Methods. Especially, the validity and procedures of primary measure, which was Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), were systemically described. The results of among four groups are also statistically compared. Therefore, this study seems to offer moderate to strong validity of evidence based on the well organised design
  • 53. Pathology Of The Autonomic Nervous System Introduction In this report, the symptoms of this patient will be diagnosed, and the causes of them discussed with reference to the physiology and pharmacology of the autonomic nervous system. The Autonomic Nervous System The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the part of the motor division of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) that controls involuntary processes in the body (Wieczorek, 2014). Such functions include control of heart rate, gland activity, smooth muscle contraction and constriction of blood vessels (Biology online.org, 2014). The ANS is divided into two branches, the sympathetic nervous system (SN) and the parasympathetic nervous system (PN). The SN is responsible for the fight or flight response, which results in increased preparedness for vigorous activity in response to exercise or emergency. The PN acts antagonistically to the SN, in that it produces the opposite effects to those of the SN. Under normal circumstances, the PN is dominant, and allows processes such as digestion and defecation to occur, while also conserving energy (Elmhurst.edu, 2014). Most of the visceral organs of the body are innervated by both sympathetic and parasympathetic neurones, with the exceptions being sweat glands and the smooth muscle of blood vessels they are only innervated by sympathetic nerve fibres (Wieczorek, 2014). In the ANS, a number of different neurotransmitters and receptors are present. In both the PN and SN, the neurotransmitter at the ganglia is
  • 54. Epic of Beowulf Essay Armor in the poem Beowulf Armor mentioned in the poem Beowulf include helmets and chain mail. There are an incredible number of references to these battle apparel in the poem, making this topic of armor a very relevant one to consider. Helmets are the most dramatic and often quoted item of armor found in Beowulf, says Catherine M. Hills in Beowulf and Archaeology. Indeed, examining the poem, one finds copious references to helmets in just the first 400 lines of the poem: Boar figures gleamed over plated cheek guards, inlaid with gold; shining, fire hardened, fierce war masks guarded their lives (303 6) iron gray ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both the Benty Grange and Sutton Hoo helmets have boar ornaments on the helmet, on the eyebrows of the latter. In Beowulf the poet describes the helmets of the Geat warriors in the poem: Boar figures gleamed over plated cheek guards, inlaid with gold (303 4) (Cramp 117) Representations of helmets in sculpture or in manuscripts indicate that crested helmets, the Anglo Saxon type of helmet, continued in use through the tenth century (Hils 304). We will return to Benty Grange and Sutton Hoo shortly, but first let s comment on the other form of armor: mail link aka chain mail aka mail shirts aka war dress aka battle shirts aka mail, etc. In the first 400 lines of Beowulf, the references to armor generally, or to mail link/chain mail specifically, actually outnumber the references to helmets: I have not heard of a ship so decked with better war dress, weapons of battle, swords and mail shirts (38 40) Armored warriors climbed the prow;

  • 56. Denim Day DENIM DAY MAKE A STATEMENT BY WEARING JEANS. Denim Day was established as a result of a rape that occurred in Italy thirteen years ago. An 18 year old young lady hired a driving instructor to take driving lessons. The instructor drove her to an isolated area in the country, and then attacked her. He wrestled with her until he got one of her legs out of her jeans, raped her, then forced her to drive back to town. The rapist was arrested and convicted for the crime. However, he later appealed the conviction, the case made it all the way to Italy s Supreme Court. The conviction was overturned by a male judge. The judge concluded that because the victim had on tight jeans, she must have helped the perpetrator take her pants off and therefore... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 57. The Controversy Of Selling Knifes Like many people all over the world I have a hobby, this hobby is to collect knives, the art of smithing a blade and the craftsmanship that goes into making handles is a fascination to me. All knives are a legitimate tool under the right circumstances and have been for hundreds of years, almost anything in our day to day lives could benefit from knives and the daily carry of them but here in modern Australia most are illegal for whatever reason. Of course there are the cases of people being injured or killed by knives but the same can be said for cars and various tools at Bunnings or Masters. I understand why the laws are in place but do not necessarily agree with them. I do not understand why there are limitations on the edged tools we could all benefit from, all knives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A lot of people will also say that some knives are more dangerous than others, if that s the case then certainly the big blade Machete is hands down the most dangerous. People will also say that the smaller of the two is easier to conceal, yet it is legal to purchase a fixed blade knife with the same blade length as the Griptilian which can be opened with one hand and comes with a total concealed carry system, that s right it comes with a sheath that can be attached almost anywhere on your person, be it clothing or body. Movies show gangsters and thugs with butterfly knives (balisongs) which is what I like to collect and switch blades, however statistics show that a lot of knife crime, if not most, is committed with kitchen knives. Data presented to the British Parliamentary committee in 2008 showed that kitchen knives were used in logged crimes ten times more often than the next most common identified

This quote display s that the, two kids (Kile and Eadlyn), have been friends forever and the audience did not think that they would ever come together and show this affection to each other. This shows a quality plot because, it makes the story. That means that this scene in The Heir is a huge part in the rest of the book. (Verbal Irony) If it was, perhaps it s not what you thought it would be and now, you re in a situation you don t particularly like (Cass 210). This quote displays that, Ean just opened her up like a book. This shows a quality plot because, it s a part that no one expected. It makes the reader want to read more. Irony is, the expression of one s meaning by using language (action or a situation) that signifies the opposite. Kiera Cass uses irony to make the book more interesting by using it in the most random places so the boring parts become some of the best parts. In The Heir, irony is used to show a quality
