Peplau Nursing Theory Essay
The study which has been outlined earlier, if conducted can either support or refute if nurses will need
increased education and training on Electronic Health Records formerly known as EHR s. If this study
is conducted, nurses will know whether or not the education and training they are receiving
traditionally on EHR s is sufficient for gaining interpersonal relationships with their patients.
Interpersonal relationships include patient rapport, effective nursing interventions, and patient safety.
Nurses will know whether or not time is being sufficiently spent with the patient or if it is being
occupied with EHR input because of lack of education, understanding and training.
Nursing Theory Peplau s theory on interpersonal relationships defines four phases on how to gain a
quality nurse patient relationship. These four phases include orientation, identification, exploitation,
and resolution (Peplau, 1952). If this study is conducted and shows a need for an increase in education
and training in electronic charting to fulfill adequate care for patients, Peplau s nursing theory will
reiterate the importance of gaining an interpersonal relationship with patients. Peplau s theory will
change by implementing the first phase, orientation in EHR use. The orientation phase is coming to
know your patient and being their major information source. The role of being a major information
source will be done personally by the nurse giving proper time to gain a relationship . The

Deforestation In Korea
(U) The terrain and weather of the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK) would severely
hinder operations and movement in the area. Restrictive terrain is abundant, and friendly forces would
have difficulty maneuvering through the nation. The weather is dependent on the season and is subject
to monsoons and typhoons. (U) The DPRK is heavily forested, meaning mechanized and armored
units would struggle to maneuver into effective combat positions. As of 2003, forestry covered
approximately 73% of the DPRK, with the forest canopy [being] much more dense in the north
(United Nations Development Program 2003). Most of the vegetation consists of montane forest of
which more than 70% is on slopes above 20° (United Nations Development Program 2003). The true
percentage of forest cover is likely less than 73% as of now, as lumber is the primary fuel source of
the DPRK. In addition, deforestation is occurring faster than reforestation programs are capable of
combatting it. The forest cover would serve to conceal the movements of DPRK light infantry forces

Causes And Actions In Fahrenheit 451, By Ray Bradbury
The book Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury is set in a highly populated city in the US. It most
likely takes place 100 years after the book was written in 1953. The mood of the characters in the
beginning is sadness. But as the story progresses the mood becomes chaotic. A war is going on
throughout the story and there are fighter jets flying above communities but no one notices. They are
all too connected to technology to even realize the jets flying overhead. They are the governments
drones. Guy Montag, one of the main characters in this novel, is a fireman who burns books for a
living. He is forced to do so by the government because that is his job. He has the scent of kerosene,
Kerosene , he said, because the silence had lengthened , Is nothing but perfume to me. (4). He uses
kerosene to burn the books because if you re caught reading you will be killed. But early on in the
book Montag meets a girl named Clarisse on his way home from work. She makes him realize that
reading is important and without books nobody is truly happy. Mildred Montag, Guy Montag s wife, is
addicted to sleeping pills and technology. She is pale and ill looking from the pills that she takes. She
disagrees with Montag about reading books. She thinks it is pointless to read. Mildred kicked at a
book. Books aren t people. You read and I look all around, but there isn t anybody! (69). Faber, a very
intelligent, retired english professor, agrees with Montag and tries

`` The Yellow Wallpaper `` And The Court Cases Like Ellen...
From short stories like The Yellow Wallpaper, to the court cases like Ellen Pao s Suit vs. Kleiner
Perkins, and even a data book like Women in the Labor Force, it is clear to see that inequality and
mistreatment of women still exists today. People often say that inequality is a thing of the past,
however it has been a serious problem since the dawning of civilization itself, and it is still so today.
Women are often seen as lesser beings than men, and are treated accordingly. It is getting better, and
women are starting to take their rightful places as equals in the workforce, and as equals in general.
However, the world still has a long way to go before the inequality and mistreatment of women comes
to a complete stop. In The Yellow Wallpaper, the authors explores the world through the eyes of the
narrator. The narrator is a woman who has been taken away to live in the countryside for the summer
due to temporary nervous depression (Gilman). This diagnosis was done by her husband, a physician,
who treats her more like a possession than a spouse. Though he has diagnosed her with this, he is seen
saying that she is not really sick at all. He gives her incorrect medicines, not believing her when she
says something is wrong. Throughout the story, it is shown that she is not ever taken seriously, her
husband even going so far as to say that she shall be sick as she pleases (Gilman) this implying that
she is making up her illness for attention, and that it is all

The Life of Aristotle, the Greek Philosopher
Aristotle (384 322 B.C.) was a Greek Philosopher from the Socratic/Classical period in Athens,
Greece. Socrates developed a system of critical reasoning in order to determine how to live properly
and tell the difference between right and wrong. Aristotle was one of his followers along with Plato
and they made a commitment to the truth, and organized and systematized most of the problems of
philosophy. He is one of the most important figures in Western Philosophy and was the first person to
create a comprehensive system of philosophy.
Aristotle was born to an aristocratic family in Stagira. His father was the personal physician to King
Amyntas of Macedon. Aristotle was trained and educated as a member of the aristocracy. At age 10,
Aristotle s father died (which meant that he could not follow his father s profession as a doctor
anymore) and his mother also died young, so, he was taken under the care of a man named Proxenus.
At age 18, he moved to Athens to complete his education at Plato s famous Academy. Aristotle
remained there for nearly twenty years, first as a student and then as a teacher, until after Plato s death
in 347 B.C.. He left the academy because he wasn t chosen to be head of the academy since his ideas
diverged far from Plato s. In 335 B.C., Aristotle established his own school outside the walls of
Athens, known as the Lyceum, in competition with Plato s Academy. The Lyceum had a broader
curriculum than the Academy, and a stronger emphasis on natural

Beliefs Of Jewish Religion Essay
Judaism
Beliefs:
Judaism is a monotheistic faith; therefore, Jewish people believe in one god(Mendes Flohr 423).
According to Mendes Flohr there are thirteen principles of the Jewish faith. They include:
1. Belief in the existence of God 2. Belief in God s unity 3. Belief in God s incorporeality 4. Belief in
God s eternity 5. Belief that God alone is to be worshiped 6. Belief in prophecy 7. Belief that Moses
was the greatest of the prophets 8. Belief that the Torah was given by God to Moses 9. Belief that the
Torah is unchangeable 10. Belief that God knows the thoughts and deeds of each human being 11.
Belief that God rewards and punishes 12. Belief in the coming of the Messiah 13. Belief in the
resurrection of the dead.(431)
There are also many laws that are associated with the Jewish faith. In the article Judaism it states some
of the religion s laws. Some of these laws require followers of Judaism to maintain a certain diet,
mandate days of rest, and perform pilgrimage and sacrifice(par. 16).

The Hebrew bible is divided into three parts. The three parts are the Torah, the Prophets, and the
Writings. The Torah holds the five books of Moses. The Torah is known to be the direct word of God;
whereas, the Prophets were men that spoke in their own voices directed by God. The Writings were
explanation of other sacred texts(Mendes Flohr 432). In the article Judaism it declares Judaism has
different cycles of holy days, one in the spring and another in the new year. In the spring, Passover
occurs. Passover celebrates the Exodus, or when the children of Israel achieved freedom from the
slavery in Egypt. The other cycle begins with Rosh Hashanah, the new year. Rosh Hashanah

The Romani People or Gypsies
There are many types of people in the world who do not have specific states that they call their homes.
Many people like this have fought and still continue to fight to make it so they have their own place to
call home. An example of these people are the Romani people also formerly known as the Gypsies.
The Romani people are associated with what is called a stateless nation. A stateless nation is defined
as a national group that aspires to become a nation state, but lacks the territorial means to do so. The
Romani people are nomadic people which causes them to be all over the world. Because they are
known to be all over the world they don t have their own state where they can practice their historical
cultures, their cultures, and their political organization/ government they follow.
Traditionally the Romani people are nomadic people and are sound on every continent. They are also
called The Roma and in English known as the Gypsies because of the inaccurate idea that they came
from a little Egypt. The Romani descended from people who emigrated from the Indian Sub continent.
The Romani blood lines have been traced and found they are closely related to those of South
Himalayan Tribes and the genetics of them including mutations they have are only found among
Indians and Pakistanis. According to their history it is believed that they came from NW India and
when they left went to Persia around the 11th century. Later they moved northward and westward and

Violence, Mental, And Mental Health

Violence and mental health in Brazil
Today, mental disorders, violence and injuries are more prominent in low and middle income countries
(Rebeiro, 2013). Violence stems from all age groups and genders, however, Brazil faces
disproportionately high rates of violence. Violence is a major contributor to morbidity and individual
and collective costs (Reichenheim, 2011). Unfortunately, nearly 90% of people living in Sao Paulo
and Rio de Janeiro faced at least one lifetime traumatic experience and if only investigating events
constituted as direct exposure to violence (assaultive violence), 59.4% of residents in Sao Paulo and
63.4% in Rio de Janeiro reported a lifetime exposure (Ribeiro, 2013). Overall, crime is ignored in
Brazil, especially interpersonal violence. The corruption in the government and police force in
conjunction with weapons, drugs, and alcohol create a system vulnerable to violence (Reicheinheim,
2011). The relationship between population growth, which more than tripled from 52 million in 1950
to 170 million in 2000, directly relates to increasing rates of violence. Additionally, there is also a
direct relationship with the rapid growth, and economic burdens associated with mental disorders
(Ribeiro 2013, Becker, 2013). Rates of mental disorders surpass major categories of
noncommunicable disease including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases,
and cancer (Ribeiro 2013;

Why Is Harry S Truman Taking A Stand

Harry S. Truman. He said this to make people take a stand and act
Synopsis of Harry S. Truman. he was born in Missouri on May 8, 1884. He was Franklin Delano
Roosevelt s vice president for just 82 days before Roosevelt died and Truman became the 33rd
president.

In his second term, Truman chaired a special committee to investigate the National Defense Program
to prevent war profiteering and wasteful spending in defense industries. He gained public support and
recognition for his straightforward reports and practical recommendations, and he won the respect of
his colleagues and the populace alike. Vice Presidency When FDR had to choose a running mate for
the 1944 presidential election, he deemed his acting vice president, Henry Wallace, unacceptable.
Wallace was disliked by many of the senior democrats in Washington, and since it was apparent that
Roosevelt might not survive his fourth term, the vice presidential pick was especially important.
Truman s popularity, as well as his reputation as a fiscally responsible man and a defender of citizens
rights, made him an attractive option. Truman was initially reluctant to accept, but once he received
the nomination, he campaigned vigorously. Roosevelt and Truman were elected in November of 1944,
and Truman took the oath of office on January 20, 1945. He served as vice president just 82 days

The Firearm Owner s Privacy Act
Based upon my understanding of the United States Constitution as well as listening to the arguments
brought forth by the two parties in this particular case, I see a great reason to believe that three of the
four provisions of the Firearm Owner s Privacy Act is an unconstitutional abridgment of the First
Amendment. The record keeping provision, anti harassment provision, and the inquiry provisions are
in clear violation of the First Amendment as they are content based regulations of speech that fail strict
scrutiny. However, the anti discrimination provision of the law is constitutional as it does not regulate
free speech.
Syllabus: The Firearm Owner s Privacy Act contains four provisions.
The greatest problem with the three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The law, as enacted, has three provisions designed to carry out the state of Florida s governmental
responsibility of protecting its citizens Second Amendment rights from being potentially infringed.
Additionally, there is one provision in the law that aims to protect against the possibility that
physicians might discriminate against patients or potential patients simply due to the fact that they are
exercising their constitutional right of owning a firearm. However though, in creating this law, the
Florida State Legislature created a content based and viewpoint based restriction upon physicians right
to freedom of speech under the First Amendment. As this law imposes both a content based and
viewpoint based restriction upon a physician s fundamental right to free speech specifically in order to
prohibit the advocation of a specific point of view, I believe that strict scrutiny is only suitable form of
judicial review for a case such as this. As was established in Ashcroft v. ACLU (2002), the
government cannot impose restrictions upon the First Amendment simply because of its content. This
decision was then strengthened greatly by the Supreme Court in the case of Reed v. Town of Gilbert
which made the determination that laws which restrict speech based on its communicative content...

Human Sexuality And Sexual Orientation
Few aspects of human behavior excite as much interest and controversy as sexual orientation. In
cultures and societies today, as well as in the past, there is usually an emphasis on a specific
orientation as a norm, and typically heterosexuality is perceived as such. This in turn generates a wide
range of reaction to homosexuality, from its being seen as unnatural in moral terms, to ideas of it as
threatening the stability of a culture. In recent years, however, new perspectives are emerging which
strongly support that sexual orientation is by no means so easily defined, and that, when social
parameters on sexual behaviors are set aside, the reality is that most people are not strictly
heterosexual or homosexual. In the following, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Europe and the Americas, certainly, centuries of Christianity as the dominant faith have vastly
influenced thinking based on the conviction that homosexuality is both unnatural and sinful. This is,
moreover, true of all Christian denominations, from the Roman Catholic to the Anglican and
Episcopalian. Both in past eras and modern times, for example, Anglican and Protestant scholars
consistently cite homosexuality as an aberration and a violation of God s will. It is held as an
orientation that dangerously threatens orthodoxy by ignoring the tenets of the Bible (Sachs, 2009, p.
20). Not surprisingly, Roman Catholic views are at least equally as strong, and what has long
developed in Western cultures is a widespread social condemnation of homosexuality which, as faith
provides a groundwork for civil and legal matters, then become embedded in the societies. In plain
terms, there has been an historic and consistent rejection of homosexuality as deviant, contrary to
Christian morality, and unhealthy for both individual and society. The above considered, it then cannot
be overstated how faith based thinking has greatly influenced social customs and virtually dictated
cultural imperatives regarding sexual orientation. It is in fact arguable that many who denounce
homosexuality are by no means devoutly religious; rather, the sheer force of mainstream

The Cost Of Gas Prices
Oil is one of the most valued products in the world which means oil can be very inelastic. It is
something that people need in order for them to keep their cars going and for many other reasons in
this world. When the cost of gas drops down, the usual consumer s response is positive, however, that
might not be the case for some producers in the market. The lower cost of gas means that people will
be able to save money which is exactly what any consumers would want in the market. Specific
consumers who benefit the most from cheap oil are working and middle class people who spend an
unbalanced amount of their money on gas to fill up their cars and to heat their homes. As a result of
cheap oil, the amount of money that people will save can now go to expenses like buying a new car,
purchasing new electronics, traveling elsewhere, or even as small as going out to a nice dinner (p.34).
All these results will cause a hotel boom, a restaurant boom, and labor shortages that will increase
wages (p.36). However, with the positive side of cheap gas comes the negative side as well. The effect
of cheap gas on producers is not the same as the effect that it has on consumers in the market. The
decrease in oil prices are pressuring gas producers responsible for the domestic energy boom. Also,
when prices of barrel drops significantly, the activity in the shale basins is not very profitable which
means drilling of oil has to come to a stop (p.35). This will cause an unemployment of people who

Physical Body And Genitali The Biological Perspective
Compare and Contrast Essay
Biological Perspective: The biological perspective posits the idea that one s biological makeup is
responsible for determining one s gender. The idea is that a physical body and genitalia is what
mandates the person s gender. Some researchers have suggested that on top of this biological
determinism, genes pass on gender stereotypes like an increased ability for math in people biologically
assigned male and maternal instincts in people assigned female at birth. Others have suggested that
evolution has cemented men and women s roles in society because it always was that way. A
simplistic explanation of chromosomes states that those with Y chromosomes are male and those
without are female but as we know, it s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In general, once these intersex individuals are identified, corrective surgery is suggested to reassign
the child within the traditional gender binary so that their gender identity will match expectations.
Some scientists have suggested that gender identity is permeable within the first 18 months so that the
intersexuality of their bodies can be addressed, while others suggest that identity is fluid throughout
childhood until puberty, when the body changes caused will cement their gender identity. The process
of acquiring a gender identity is simple within this framework. Because it is solely focused on biology,
the identity is assigned based on which side of the gender binary it is closest to and that is all the
nuance available. Later perspectives take this and define it as the biological sex, which they then
separate from gender. However, this process is similar throughout all the perspectives for people who
are cisgender, because they have no need for the further nuance that other perspectives can provide.
Psychological Perspective
Freud believed that gender identity was built from our interactions and learned from our environment,
but was informed by our biological makeup. His theory of gender identity development is constructed
in stages as the child grows older, first the oral stage, then the anal stage, then the critical stage in
which the child s gender identity is constructed called the genital stage. The genital stage requires

changes narrative: Near the center of the field, First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross squatted in the muck,
almost entirely submerged. In his head he was revising the letter to Kiowa s father. Impersonal this
time (176). Though the impersonalization of his thoughts seems like a negative quality, it actually

He no longer thinks of his own opinions on Kiowa, just the facts. He died. It was an accident. The

The Issue Of American Patriotism
Nationalism and patriotism is a very touchy subject for some people just due to the fact of everyone
having their own opinion on what it means. Some people just do not know the difference between the
two, or just don t know if there even is a difference. They are very often commonly confused as the
same thing and I can see why at first glance, but after searching this subject on many credible sources
I have come to find many clarifying and interesting facts on this particular topic.
First of all, the actual definition of American patriotism is the pride and devotion to one s homeland.
As everything does, there are pros and cons to being a patriot. For example, a pro would be that it
leads us to feel proud of and for our county. That ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unless your knowledge is of a universal type, equally useful and valued anywhere; then it makes no
difference where you live, as long as you enjoy your life. Another being specialization; patriotism
instinctively guides citizens to discover their natural and cultural specialties: their own resources,
traditions, industries, and identity that has existed for ages. They will not imitate or copy another
country blindly. Loving a place makes one automatically love, learn, cherish, and improve the special
qualities about it/them. A couple of the others are commitment and security. Most cons of patriotism
fall under the category of centralization being harmful. They claim that the benefits enjoyed by
centralized countries will eventually be shared by everyone worldwide. They say that it is not a big
problem to desert some countries as long as citizens are happy and successful elsewhere. They also
claim that in over populated countries, or those with high unemployment rates, its better when people
leave. I do not neccesarily agree with all of this but I do think the majority of the claims made are true.
Nationalism has two definitions that basically mean the same thing but one is more easily understood.

The United States Banking Industry
The United States banking industry has been a problem ever since the fraud and corruption from the
market crash of 08. There have been two sides arguing what we should do to these banks. Many
people say, We need to split up the big banks into smaller banks. Their argument is that the smaller
banks will be easier to monitor to make sure no fraud is going on and it will cause there to be more
competition in the industry which will lower interest rates. The other side of the argument where many
people also stayed is that the big banks don t need to be split up. They just need a bailout to get back
on their feet and they can sort this mess out. The arguments stand on two principles one side says the
banks are corrupt and need to be disbanded, and the other side s states that the banks are too big to
fail; come ground is difficult for these two but they both want to fix the economy. The argument is
really heated on who know how to fix the economy. The government backs the too big to fail side of
the argument while most Americans side with the splitting up of the banks side of the argument. The
too big to fail argument says Rates can only below if big banks set the rates there, the smaller banks
can t operate at too small of rates (White 36). The bigger the bank the lower the rates they can afford
to offer. In theory, that plan should work, but banks are greedy and when a bank dominates the field
they charge the highest rates they can because they can. In the textbook

How Did Cleopatra Changed History

How and why has the depiction of Cleopatra changed over the course of history?
Cleopatra was the last pharaoh of Egypt. She is famous in Western culture because of her alleged
affairs with Julius Caesar and Marc Antony, these affairs are, which over the years have been
famously depicted as political decisions. Cleopatra was a strong, intelligent leader, and was very good
at gaining and keeping political power. She believed that women deserved power as much as men,
since she would not rule Egypt equally with her brother. Primary sources such as paintings and
sculptures have presented her as an extravagant and beautiful woman. In the 20th century Cleopatra s
story was preserved and further developed through film. Many ... Show more content on

Only selections of coins depict her and a few busts are believed to portray the Egyptian queen, but
these cannot be verified. However, almost everyone in the Western world could conjure a picture of
Cleopatra if asked to do so. But without question this image will be of an actress portraying the queen
on film. Cleopatra has been a central character in over fifteen major films and countless television
programmes. The first cinematic portrayal of Cleopatra was in the silent film of 1917 starring

How To Grow Corn Essay
Corn: The Planting Of Growing a crop of corn can be very rewarding. With some hard work and a
little bit of luck, it can be very profitable. Planting corn doesn t sound too complicated, but knowing
how to do it right can be the difference between losing money and making a profit. To get started
planting your field of corn, you will need access to a tractor, a field cultivator, a planter, fertilizer, seed
corn and a lot of farm diesel. Of course, you will need to own some farmland or be leasing the farming
rights from the landowner. If you are fortunate enough to have farmland with irrigation, it can
diminish one of the biggest risks associated with farming. Droughts or dry spells are unforgiving, and
no matter how well you prepare the soil, you will need rain or irrigation water. Using good farming
practices will ensure greater corn yields and a higher profit margin!
Begin by deciding when to start planting in your area. The planting start date should be determined by

To get the first set of rows straight, it helps to set some markers in a straight line from one end of the
field to the other as a guide to follow; this will be best with two people. Begin by putting something
that you can see from the other end of the field, at the other end of the field, measured out from the
edge of the farm to the desired distance. Usually, a five gallon bucket will do. Then drive back
towards the planter and set a marker about a hundred yards in front of the tractor, measured out from
the edge of the field the same distance as the bucket on the other end. We use cheap paper plates
buried about half way down for the markers, they break down quick in the rain and are biodegradable.
We can now have someone drive back towards the bucket and stop every couple hundred yards and set
a plate in line with the others, the person left at the planter can wave him right or left to help get them
aligned as straight as

A Person Who Cares My Friend
A Person Who Cares I am a person who cares deeply about my friend. If anything happens to my
friend, I will do anything I help him. I have one true friend, his name is Ryan, who helps me greatly as
I help him. Being with him is different than being with my other friend. It is because I can be honest
about my feelings with him. Being a friend with him has sometimes gotten me into unusual situation.
For example, I lost my friend in Disneyland and to find him again, to climb a rope with my wrist
sprained, and to care about a person s pride. I was with Ryan and Daniel in Disneyland. After we rode
the Space Mountain, we headed out to eat lunch. Hey, Ryan asked me, where is Daniel? I don t know,
I said to him, he was here just a moment ago. Should we go and find him? Ryan said. No, I told him,
let s wait for a few minutes. We waited for five minutes but we didn t see Daniel. We figured that
Daniel was near where we were and went to eat lunch. Shouldn t we look for him? I said to Ryan. No,
Ryan said to me, he ll be okay. And besides we re hungry. After we ate our lunch quickly, we went to
the Space Mountain again to find him. We looked for him for about ten minutes and we realized that
he might have gone off to another place to look for us. We should go find a teacher and report to them
that Daniel is missing, I told Ryan. As we went to find a teacher, we saw someone familiar walking
towards us. The person who was walking towards us was

Detrimental Effects Of Ocean Acidification
A burden which lays on the shoulders of today s man is that of climate change, namely, global
warming. However, this evil has many ignored byproducts, some which are equally detrimental. In
this thesis, we will write about the effects of one of the greatest of this, ocean acidification, known as
global warming s equally evil twin .
When scientists first discovered ocean acidification, they thought that it might be a good thing for
mankind, a helping hand in the war against excess carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. You see, ocean
acidification is essentially the process in which our oceans absorb atmospheric carbon dioxide,
gradually (although becoming faster) making our ocean more and more acidic. So when scientists
discovered this, they believed

The Goal Eli Goldratt Summary
The Goal: A Process of on going Improvement (Summary)
Alex Rogo is the plant manager of Unico s Bearington plant. Clearly he has problems in his plant as is
evident in the surprise visit he got from the vice president of his division, Bill Peach. Peach came to
expedite an order (No. 41427), which he wanted to be shipped that day. Alex is given three months to
turn around his unprofitable plant or else face a shut down.
The order is shipped at the end of the day, although there was a breakdown of a machine and the plant
operated beneath efficiency. All workers were pulled from other jobs just to work on a single order.
Some even had to carry machine parts by hand to the point of assembly. Alex is concerned that his
plant does not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were surprised that everything explained to them was done in terms of money. Throughput for
instance was the money coming into the system, operational expense the money going out and
inventory the money within the system. The production manager is surprised that everything can be
measured in terms of money. The inventory manager compares inventory to investment. Finally they
are all convinced by Alex s explanation and decide to call Jonah for further help.
Alex meets Jonah briefly in New York the following day. Alex discusses the problems he is
experiencing at the plant with Jonah, about how long he has to turn the plant around. Jonah says he
doesn t have the time to solve the problem but that with diligence, Alex and his team should be able
to. He asks Alex to forget about the robots and came up with a better definition of efficiency than is
presently used at the plant. Jonah told Alex that a plant in which everyone was working all the time
was inefficient. Jonah also dispels Alex s idea of a balanced plant being a good one. He said the
trimming of capacity to demand is not good for a plant as it reduces throughput and inventory piles up.
Jonah gives Alex something to think about What happens when dependent events are in combination
with statistical fluctuations?
Through a Boy Scout camping trip with his son s group, Alex is able to figure out Jonah s puzzle. The
boys walk along the trail in a file with them alternating between

What Is Paley s Design Argument
This is the second argument about God s existence. Perhaps the most popular variant owed to this this
argument is William Paley s argument concerning the watch. Essentially, this argument states that
after observing a watch, together with its intricate parts, which function together as a unit in an
accurate manner to keep time, anybody must realize that such piece of machinery has its creator, as it
is too complicated to have easily come into presence through other means, like evolution (Ratzsch,
2005). The following is a skeleton of this argument: Human artifacts are items resulting from
intelligent design and such artifacts have an aim. Universes appear like these human artifacts. Hence:
it is likely that the universe is an outcome of intelligent design and has an aim. However, the universe
is both gigantic and complex than an artifact made by a human. Therefore, there is likelihood that a
powerful and a vastly intelligent designer created the universe. ... Show more content on

Artifacts like watches are the items of intelligent design and so, organisms are also things of
intelligent design. Hume stated that things that can be compared to arguments are few. He noted that
watches are not identical to living things and hence deduced that Paley s argument is extremely feeble.
This is another kind of criticism in which Hume fails. This is because the local design argument of
Paley is good comprehended not as an analogical argument but rather as adductive argument (which is
the best explained argument). Thus, it must not be examined on the basis of similarity of watches
(analog) to living organisms (the target), but rather by the way of surprise principle. Surprise principle
states that design hypothesis is good warranted as compared to Random Hypothesis. This allegation is
not impacted by the fact that the organisms are different to other things. Thus Hume s criticism misses

others, yet amidst desires for merger are concurrent concerns about being engulfed or overwhelmed by
others (Meadow, 2002). This has likely resulted in the preoedipal bulimic feeling both dependent and
mistrustful of others. For bulimic patients whose central conflicts are preoedipal in nature, the same
intimacy concerns one felt towards his or her mother as a young child become transposed on adult
situations, in which needy and dismissive feelings are displaced onto the food. For example, bulimic
individuals report experiencing less support from relationships and they identify as having more social

as a means to express repressed rage towards the maternal object. Instead, this aggression toward the
maternal object was redirected onto the self via bingeing and purging. Allison described her mother as
a weak and needy individual who stayed in the abusive home because she did not want to leave the
luxuries and extravagant lifestyle her husband provided. Although Allison acknowledges negative

missing some works cited Tintern Abbey : Millennialism and Apocalypse Thought in S. T. Coleridge
and William Wordsworth s Poetics Storming of the Bastille 1789 [1] During and in the aftermath of
the French Revolution, millennialist thought independent of the myriad of economic and historical
reasons for its precipitation influenced many authors. Many people perceived the French Revolution
as a foreshadowing of an Apocalypse that would usher in a new millenarian epoch, one levelling
social distinctions between people and bringing about what was believed to be Christ s absolute rule.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge was such a writer influenced by millennialist and apocalyptic belief in the
late eighteenth century. His early writings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

depictions of destruction and war, however, are limited to Coleridge s earlier poetry. David Calleo
suggests that by the time the communal experiment of Pantisocracy had come to a close and Coleridge
himself had become slightly older, that he lost much of his earlier political idealism, and [w]ith it . . .
vanished his spontaneous and effortless vision of divine purpose in all things . . . [9] Further
mitigating factors, such as The French Revolution s apparent reversal of many of its former ideals to
foster liberty and democracy to policies of open military aggression, shifted Coleridge s thinking
about a manifest millennial reign of Jesus through a predestined social apocalypse. His focus became
one of criticism and active intervention of the poet as an agent of social change. In contrast to his

Technology And The Dark Web
As technology has propelled forward in our exploration of knowledge relating to computers and their
science it is understandable that there are still areas of this field which may yet remain unexplored.
One particular field being the Dark Web, which has been defined as an area of the deep web which
has, been intentionally hidden and is therefore inaccessible through standard [web] browsers.
(Brightplanet.) Although this web has evolved over the course of many years, possibly dating back to
the 1990s and the development of onion routing, it has advanced itself into an industry which no one
could have ever predicted. Further as well delve deeper into this developmental occurrence known as
the Dark Web, I feel that we must ask ourselves how this has evolved into what we know it as today
and whether or not it represents our future or past in dealing with the internet activities.
As with many events and activities being related to the creation of technology, a few different aspects
of it can be tied back to the government. In this case, the Dark Web may be directly related to the,
creation of Onion Routing by the United States Naval Research Laboratory, which was the first step
toward the Tor Project. Nevertheless, this was only the first step to be taken in the greater evolution of
the Dark Web, for instance the creation of Freenet which was developed by Ian Clarke allowed more
individual to access this otherwise unknown area of the web. By opening this area of the

A Research Done By Morelli, Rameson, And Lieberman About...
Various articles and literature works coupled with the ongoing happenings clearly indicate that
happiness has no price tag. Since the beginning of human evolution, there has been a saying that
money cannot buy anyone happiness. Happiness refers to emotions, and it is dependent on people s
choices (Landau, 2008). Finding oneself in a place where material properties and social status are
crucial, many people s happiness in such cases would be dependent on these things. For the purpose of
understanding this issue, this paper critically analyses a research done by Morelli, Rameson, and
Lieberman about happiness.
Question 1: The Research methods
First, there is the observational method. The researchers used the observational method to identifying
how certain characters tend to be influenced by environmental changes. For instance, the researchers
review the study conducted by Morelli and Lieberman, where the volunteers were instructed to look at
pictures at their free time and memorize the eight digits assigned to them by the researchers. Some
individuals showed reduced empathy, while others were able to feel things deeply (Kluger, 2013). This
kind of research methodology is mainly concerned with psychological or behavioral traits of the study
population.
Generally, observations are cheap, and the researcher uses few resources in conducting the research.
Conversely, observations consume a lot of time since researchers have to wait for the observational
traits of the

The Crucifixion Across Biblical Writings
The Crucifixion across Biblical Writings
The Bible has been a major cultural influence throughout the world for centuries. This work has taken
roots in movies, music, literature, art, and more, and as a result the interpretations and spin offs are
endless. The Gospel According to Jesus Christ by José Saramago is one of these interpretations.
Saramago is knowledgeable on the Bible as well as information about the historical circumstances of
the time period. Putting these two factors together, he created a novel that humanizes the characters to
make it more understandable to readers, as well as sculpt a unique backstory that differs from anything
Christians would find acceptable. However, he was so efficient in doing so, that some would ... Show

Judas betrays Jesus and he is brought to the Prefect Pilate after being arrested based on the suspicion
of acting treasonably by declaring himself King of the Jews. Pilate interrogates him several times and
continuously finds that Jesus has done nothing wrong. After much time and the suggestions of the
crowd, Pilate sentences Jesus to death by crucifixion, and he ultimately ends up on the cross. Jesus
requests that Pilate write a specific inscription on the cross that says; Jesus of Nazareth, King of the
Jews. Pilate tells the others that what he had written he had written, and then Jesus begins to declare
that he is thirsty. At this point someone put of sponge of wine to his mouth and he says: It is finished
(John, 19:30). Then, Jesus dies and the soldiers pierced him in the side with a spear.
Saramago version of the story is much different. The scene starts by Jesus explaining to everyone how
they are going to die. He cooks up a plan that he thinks will save the people. So, instead of die on the
cross as God s son, he asks one of his followers to get him arrested for treason. His followers do not
agree with his plan and think that if he is the Son of God, he should die as the Son of God. Judas
ultimately volunteered to help, Jesus thanks him, and he is arrested. When questioned by Pilate, Pilate
shows much less compassion than the one in John s telling. He questions Jesus for some time asking
how Jesus could possibly be a

  • 2. Peplau Nursing Theory Essay The study which has been outlined earlier, if conducted can either support or refute if nurses will need increased education and training on Electronic Health Records formerly known as EHR s. If this study is conducted, nurses will know whether or not the education and training they are receiving traditionally on EHR s is sufficient for gaining interpersonal relationships with their patients. Interpersonal relationships include patient rapport, effective nursing interventions, and patient safety. Nurses will know whether or not time is being sufficiently spent with the patient or if it is being occupied with EHR input because of lack of education, understanding and training. Nursing Theory Peplau s theory on interpersonal relationships defines four phases on how to gain a quality nurse patient relationship. These four phases include orientation, identification, exploitation, and resolution (Peplau, 1952). If this study is conducted and shows a need for an increase in education and training in electronic charting to fulfill adequate care for patients, Peplau s nursing theory will reiterate the importance of gaining an interpersonal relationship with patients. Peplau s theory will change by implementing the first phase, orientation in EHR use. The orientation phase is coming to know your patient and being their major information source. The role of being a major information source will be done personally by the nurse giving proper time to gain a relationship . The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Deforestation In Korea (U) The terrain and weather of the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK) would severely hinder operations and movement in the area. Restrictive terrain is abundant, and friendly forces would have difficulty maneuvering through the nation. The weather is dependent on the season and is subject to monsoons and typhoons. (U) The DPRK is heavily forested, meaning mechanized and armored units would struggle to maneuver into effective combat positions. As of 2003, forestry covered approximately 73% of the DPRK, with the forest canopy [being] much more dense in the north (United Nations Development Program 2003). Most of the vegetation consists of montane forest of which more than 70% is on slopes above 20° (United Nations Development Program 2003). The true percentage of forest cover is likely less than 73% as of now, as lumber is the primary fuel source of the DPRK. In addition, deforestation is occurring faster than reforestation programs are capable of combatting it. The forest cover would serve to conceal the movements of DPRK light infantry forces and ... Troops will have to be ready for the varying conditions, or they may suffer injuries seen seventy years prior. During the Korean War, frostbite peaked in the months of November and December of 1950, causing many frontline units to become ineffective (Lt. Col. Orr 1951). • 4. Causes And Actions In Fahrenheit 451, By Ray Bradbury The book Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury is set in a highly populated city in the US. It most likely takes place 100 years after the book was written in 1953. The mood of the characters in the beginning is sadness. But as the story progresses the mood becomes chaotic. A war is going on throughout the story and there are fighter jets flying above communities but no one notices. They are all too connected to technology to even realize the jets flying overhead. They are the governments drones. Guy Montag, one of the main characters in this novel, is a fireman who burns books for a living. He is forced to do so by the government because that is his job. He has the scent of kerosene, Kerosene , he said, because the silence had lengthened , Is nothing but perfume to me. (4). He uses kerosene to burn the books because if you re caught reading you will be killed. But early on in the book Montag meets a girl named Clarisse on his way home from work. She makes him realize that reading is important and without books nobody is truly happy. Mildred Montag, Guy Montag s wife, is addicted to sleeping pills and technology. She is pale and ill looking from the pills that she takes. She disagrees with Montag about reading books. She thinks it is pointless to read. Mildred kicked at a book. Books aren t people. You read and I look all around, but there isn t anybody! (69). Faber, a very intelligent, retired english professor, agrees with Montag and tries ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. `` The Yellow Wallpaper `` And The Court Cases Like Ellen... From short stories like The Yellow Wallpaper, to the court cases like Ellen Pao s Suit vs. Kleiner Perkins, and even a data book like Women in the Labor Force, it is clear to see that inequality and mistreatment of women still exists today. People often say that inequality is a thing of the past, however it has been a serious problem since the dawning of civilization itself, and it is still so today. Women are often seen as lesser beings than men, and are treated accordingly. It is getting better, and women are starting to take their rightful places as equals in the workforce, and as equals in general. However, the world still has a long way to go before the inequality and mistreatment of women comes to a complete stop. In The Yellow Wallpaper, the authors explores the world through the eyes of the narrator. The narrator is a woman who has been taken away to live in the countryside for the summer due to temporary nervous depression (Gilman). This diagnosis was done by her husband, a physician, who treats her more like a possession than a spouse. Though he has diagnosed her with this, he is seen saying that she is not really sick at all. He gives her incorrect medicines, not believing her when she says something is wrong. Throughout the story, it is shown that she is not ever taken seriously, her husband even going so far as to say that she shall be sick as she pleases (Gilman) this implying that she is making up her illness for attention, and that it is all ... • 6. The Life of Aristotle, the Greek Philosopher Aristotle (384 322 B.C.) was a Greek Philosopher from the Socratic/Classical period in Athens, Greece. Socrates developed a system of critical reasoning in order to determine how to live properly and tell the difference between right and wrong. Aristotle was one of his followers along with Plato and they made a commitment to the truth, and organized and systematized most of the problems of philosophy. He is one of the most important figures in Western Philosophy and was the first person to create a comprehensive system of philosophy. Aristotle was born to an aristocratic family in Stagira. His father was the personal physician to King Amyntas of Macedon. Aristotle was trained and educated as a member of the aristocracy. At age 10, Aristotle s father died (which meant that he could not follow his father s profession as a doctor anymore) and his mother also died young, so, he was taken under the care of a man named Proxenus. At age 18, he moved to Athens to complete his education at Plato s famous Academy. Aristotle remained there for nearly twenty years, first as a student and then as a teacher, until after Plato s death in 347 B.C.. He left the academy because he wasn t chosen to be head of the academy since his ideas diverged far from Plato s. In 335 B.C., Aristotle established his own school outside the walls of Athens, known as the Lyceum, in competition with Plato s Academy. The Lyceum had a broader curriculum than the Academy, and a stronger emphasis on natural ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Romani People or Gypsies There are many types of people in the world who do not have specific states that they call their homes. Many people like this have fought and still continue to fight to make it so they have their own place to call home. An example of these people are the Romani people also formerly known as the Gypsies. The Romani people are associated with what is called a stateless nation. A stateless nation is defined as a national group that aspires to become a nation state, but lacks the territorial means to do so. The Romani people are nomadic people which causes them to be all over the world. Because they are known to be all over the world they don t have their own state where they can practice their historical cultures, their cultures, and their political organization/ government they follow. Traditionally the Romani people are nomadic people and are sound on every continent. They are also called The Roma and in English known as the Gypsies because of the inaccurate idea that they came from a little Egypt. The Romani descended from people who emigrated from the Indian Sub continent. The Romani blood lines have been traced and found they are closely related to those of South Himalayan Tribes and the genetics of them including mutations they have are only found among Indians and Pakistanis. According to their history it is believed that they came from NW India and when they left went to Persia around the 11th century. • 9. Violence, Mental, And Mental Health Monique Nguyen Global Health Paula Palmer 3 December 2014 Violence and mental health in Brazil Today, mental disorders, violence and injuries are more prominent in low and middle income countries (Rebeiro, 2013). Violence stems from all age groups and genders, however, Brazil faces disproportionately high rates of violence. Violence is a major contributor to morbidity and individual and collective costs (Reichenheim, 2011). Unfortunately, nearly 90% of people living in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro faced at least one lifetime traumatic experience and if only investigating events constituted as direct exposure to violence (assaultive violence), 59.4% of residents in Sao Paulo and 63.4% in Rio de Janeiro reported a lifetime exposure (Ribeiro, 2013). Overall, crime is ignored in Brazil, especially interpersonal violence. The corruption in the government and police force in conjunction with weapons, drugs, and alcohol create a system vulnerable to violence (Reicheinheim, 2011). The relationship between population growth, which more than tripled from 52 million in 1950 to 170 million in 2000, directly relates to increasing rates of violence. Additionally, there is also a direct relationship with the rapid growth, and economic burdens associated with mental disorders (Ribeiro 2013, Becker, 2013). Rates of mental disorders surpass major categories of noncommunicable disease including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, and cancer (Ribeiro 2013; ... In his second term, Truman chaired a special committee to investigate the National Defense Program to prevent war profiteering and wasteful spending in defense industries. He gained public support and recognition for his straightforward reports and practical recommendations, and he won the respect of his colleagues and the populace alike. Vice Presidency When FDR had to choose a running mate for the 1944 presidential election, he deemed his acting vice president, Henry Wallace, unacceptable. Wallace was disliked by many of the senior democrats in Washington, and since it was apparent that Roosevelt might not survive his fourth term, the vice presidential pick was especially important. Truman s popularity, as well as his reputation as a fiscally responsible man and a defender of citizens rights, made him an attractive option. Truman was initially reluctant to accept, but once he received the nomination, he campaigned vigorously. • 11. The Firearm Owner s Privacy Act Based upon my understanding of the United States Constitution as well as listening to the arguments brought forth by the two parties in this particular case, I see a great reason to believe that three of the four provisions of the Firearm Owner s Privacy Act is an unconstitutional abridgment of the First Amendment. The record keeping provision, anti harassment provision, and the inquiry provisions are in clear violation of the First Amendment as they are content based regulations of speech that fail strict scrutiny. However, the anti discrimination provision of the law is constitutional as it does not regulate free speech. Syllabus: The Firearm Owner s Privacy Act contains four provisions. The greatest problem with the three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The law, as enacted, has three provisions designed to carry out the state of Florida s governmental responsibility of protecting its citizens Second Amendment rights from being potentially infringed. Additionally, there is one provision in the law that aims to protect against the possibility that physicians might discriminate against patients or potential patients simply due to the fact that they are exercising their constitutional right of owning a firearm. However though, in creating this law, the Florida State Legislature created a content based and viewpoint based restriction upon physicians right to freedom of speech under the First Amendment. As this law imposes both a content based and viewpoint based restriction upon a physician s fundamental right to free speech specifically in order to prohibit the advocation of a specific point of view, I believe that strict scrutiny is only suitable form of judicial review for a case such as this. As was established in Ashcroft v. ACLU (2002), the government cannot impose restrictions upon the First Amendment simply because of its content. This decision was then strengthened greatly by the Supreme Court in the case of Reed v. Town of Gilbert which made the determination that laws which restrict speech based on its communicative content... are presumptively ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Human Sexuality And Sexual Orientation Few aspects of human behavior excite as much interest and controversy as sexual orientation. In cultures and societies today, as well as in the past, there is usually an emphasis on a specific orientation as a norm, and typically heterosexuality is perceived as such. This in turn generates a wide range of reaction to homosexuality, from its being seen as unnatural in moral terms, to ideas of it as threatening the stability of a culture. In recent years, however, new perspectives are emerging which strongly support that sexual orientation is by no means so easily defined, and that, when social parameters on sexual behaviors are set aside, the reality is that most people are not strictly heterosexual or homosexual. In the following, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Europe and the Americas, certainly, centuries of Christianity as the dominant faith have vastly influenced thinking based on the conviction that homosexuality is both unnatural and sinful. This is, moreover, true of all Christian denominations, from the Roman Catholic to the Anglican and Episcopalian. Both in past eras and modern times, for example, Anglican and Protestant scholars consistently cite homosexuality as an aberration and a violation of God s will. It is held as an orientation that dangerously threatens orthodoxy by ignoring the tenets of the Bible (Sachs, 2009, p. 20). Not surprisingly, Roman Catholic views are at least equally as strong, and what has long developed in Western cultures is a widespread social condemnation of homosexuality which, as faith provides a groundwork for civil and legal matters, then become embedded in the societies. In plain terms, there has been an historic and consistent rejection of homosexuality as deviant, contrary to Christian morality, and unhealthy for both individual and society. The above considered, it then cannot be overstated how faith based thinking has greatly influenced social customs and virtually dictated cultural imperatives regarding sexual orientation. It is in fact arguable that many who denounce homosexuality are by no means devoutly religious; rather, the sheer force of mainstream ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Cost Of Gas Prices Oil is one of the most valued products in the world which means oil can be very inelastic. It is something that people need in order for them to keep their cars going and for many other reasons in this world. When the cost of gas drops down, the usual consumer s response is positive, however, that might not be the case for some producers in the market. The lower cost of gas means that people will be able to save money which is exactly what any consumers would want in the market. Specific consumers who benefit the most from cheap oil are working and middle class people who spend an unbalanced amount of their money on gas to fill up their cars and to heat their homes. As a result of cheap oil, the amount of money that people will save can now go to expenses like buying a new car, purchasing new electronics, traveling elsewhere, or even as small as going out to a nice dinner (p.34). All these results will cause a hotel boom, a restaurant boom, and labor shortages that will increase wages (p.36). However, with the positive side of cheap gas comes the negative side as well. The effect of cheap gas on producers is not the same as the effect that it has on consumers in the market. The decrease in oil prices are pressuring gas producers responsible for the domestic energy boom. Also, when prices of barrel drops significantly, the activity in the shale basins is not very profitable which means drilling of oil has to come to a stop (p.35). This will cause an unemployment of people who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Physical Body And Genitali The Biological Perspective Compare and Contrast Essay Biological Perspective: The biological perspective posits the idea that one s biological makeup is responsible for determining one s gender. The idea is that a physical body and genitalia is what mandates the person s gender. Some researchers have suggested that on top of this biological determinism, genes pass on gender stereotypes like an increased ability for math in people biologically assigned male and maternal instincts in people assigned female at birth. Others have suggested that evolution has cemented men and women s roles in society because it always was that way. In general, once these intersex individuals are identified, corrective surgery is suggested to reassign the child within the traditional gender binary so that their gender identity will match expectations. Some scientists have suggested that gender identity is permeable within the first 18 months so that the intersexuality of their bodies can be addressed, while others suggest that identity is fluid throughout childhood until puberty, when the body changes caused will cement their gender identity. The process of acquiring a gender identity is simple within this framework. Because it is solely focused on biology, the identity is assigned based on which side of the gender binary it is closest to and that is all the nuance available. Later perspectives take this and define it as the biological sex, which they then separate from gender. However, this process is similar throughout all the perspectives for people who are cisgender, because they have no need for the further nuance that other perspectives can provide. Psychological Perspective Freud believed that gender identity was built from our interactions and learned from our environment, but was informed by our biological makeup. His theory of gender identity development is constructed in stages as the child grows older, first the oral stage, then the anal stage, then the critical stage in which the child s gender identity is constructed called the genital stage. Their argument is that the smaller banks will be easier to monitor to make sure no fraud is going on and it will cause there to be more competition in the industry which will lower interest rates. The other side of the argument where many people also stayed is that the big banks don t need to be split up. They just need a bailout to get back on their feet and they can sort this mess out. The arguments stand on two principles one side says the banks are corrupt and need to be disbanded, and the other side s states that the banks are too big to fail; come ground is difficult for these two but they both want to fix the economy. The argument is really heated on who know how to fix the economy. • 26. What Is Paley s Design Argument This is the second argument about God s existence. Perhaps the most popular variant owed to this this argument is William Paley s argument concerning the watch. Essentially, this argument states that after observing a watch, together with its intricate parts, which function together as a unit in an accurate manner to keep time, anybody must realize that such piece of machinery has its creator, as it is too complicated to have easily come into presence through other means, like evolution (Ratzsch, 2005). The following is a skeleton of this argument: Human artifacts are items resulting from intelligent design and such artifacts have an aim. Universes appear like these human artifacts. This is because the local design argument of Paley is good comprehended not as an analogical argument but rather as adductive argument (which is the best explained argument).
