Introduction to Agile
 Agile is a project management methodology that
emphasizes flexibility, collaboration, and customer
satisfaction.
 It's a way of working that values individuals and
interactions over processes and tools.
 Agile is iterative, meaning that work is done in short
cycles called sprints.
 Each sprint results in a working product increment that
is reviewed and refined.
Architecture
Product Owner
 The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the
value of the product and the work of the Development
Team.
 They do this by managing the Product Backlog, which
is a prioritized list of features and requirements.
 The Product Owner works closely with stakeholders
to understand their needs and to ensure that the
product meets those needs.
Scrum Master
 The Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring that the
Scrum framework is understood and followed.
 They coach the Development Team and the Product
Owner on Scrum practices and help remove any
impediments that are preventing the team from
delivering value.
 The Scrum Master also facilitates the Scrum events
and ensures that they are productive and effective.
 The Development Team is responsible for
delivering a potentially releasable increment of
the product at the end of each Sprint.
 They are self-organizing and cross-functional,
meaning that they have all the skills necessary
to deliver the product.
 The Development Team works closely with the
Product Owner to understand the requirements
and with the Scrum Master to ensure that they
are following Scrum practices.
Development Team
Sprint Planning
 Sprint Planning is an event that occurs at the
beginning of each Sprint.
 The Product Owner and the Development Team work
together to define a Sprint Goal and to select the
Product Backlog items that will be worked on during
the Sprint.
 The Development Team then creates a Sprint
Backlog, which is a plan for how they will deliver the
selected Product Backlog items.
Daily Scrum
 Daily Scrum is a 15-minute event that occurs every
day during the Sprint.
 The Development Team meets to discuss what they
have done since the last Daily Scrum, what they plan
to do before the next one, and any impediments that
are preventing them from achieving their Sprint Goal.
 The Daily Scrum is an opportunity for the team to
synchronize and to identify any issues that need to be
addressed.
Sprint Review
 Sprint Review is an event that occurs at the end of each
Sprint.
 The Development Team presents the work that they have
completed during the Sprint, and the Product Owner
reviews and accepts the work.
 The Sprint Review is an opportunity for the team to get
feedback from stakeholders and to discuss any changes
that need to be made to the Product Backlog.
Sprint Retrospective
 Sprint Retrospective is an event that occurs at the
end of each Sprint.
 The team reflects on the Sprint and identifies what
went well, what could be improved, and any
actions that need to be taken to improve the
process.
 The Sprint Retrospective is an opportunity for the
team to continuously improve and to become more
effective.
Advantages
 Flexibility and Adaptability
 Faster Delivery of Value
 Improved Communication
 Clear Roles and Responsibilities
 Continuous Improvement
Applications
 Software Development
 Education
 Healthcare
 E-commerce and Retail
 Project Management
Limitations
 Not Suitable for All Projects
 Complexity of Implementation
 Not Ideal for Distributed Teams
 High Scrum Master Dependency
Conclusion
 Scrum methodology is a widely recognized and influential Agile framework that has
transformed project management practices across various industries
 Scrum is a powerful and flexible framework that can help teams deliver value quickly
and efficiently.
 By emphasizing collaboration, flexibility, and customer satisfaction, Scrum enables
teams to respond to changing requirements and to continuously improve.
