Inclusion Education For Children With Disabilities
Abstract
This assignment will give an insight into what inclusion education is, and the way in
which a target school relates inclusion to their students. It will focus upon Asperger s
within the school, and show how Asperger s is treated to ensure inclusion is met. The
assignment will argue the policies set in place and, with the literature review, will
source findings and compare them with the schools ethos.
Introduction
The earliest legislation and act brought about that acknowledged a disability within
the UK came about in the 1300 s. This simple act stated that;
The English monarch to seize the property of people with mental illness or disability
(De Praerogativa Regis). (See Appendix B)
Clearly legislation has come a long way from this point, and schools have a variety
of inclusion policies that are aimed at Special Education Needs (SEN). The first act
aimed towards the education of children with disabilities was that of the Elementary
Education (Blind and Deaf Children Act of 1893) which transferred responsibility for
the education of blind and Deaf children to local education authorities .
(NHS, 2012)
This act was then followed with the updated 1944 Act which stated mainstream
schools are likely to be the most appropriate environment in which to teach disabled
children .
(The Education Act of 1944)
It was in 2010 that all previous anti discrimination laws were unified together under a
single act: The Equality Act of 2010 (EqA) which brought together race,
Cycling Advantages
Benefits of Cycling
Although cycling is not the popular choice among people, there is no doubt that it
offers more health benefits than other modes of transportations. An assessment done
by the American College Health Association reported that roughly 53% of students
were not engaging in the daily recommended amount of exercise (Bopp 359). To add
to that, something that always comes to mind when thinking about college and health
is the infamous Freshmen 15. In the midst of their busy lives with classes, friends,
and extra curricular activities, many students, particularly freshmen, are unable to
find the time to work out. EZ Bike is a great way to help students incorporate a little
more physical activity in their day while obtaining utility to get to places faster. A
university survey shows that roughly one third of USC students did not even
exercise for a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes any day of week ( Healthy). By using a
bike to ride around campus, students could easily obtain 20 to 30 minutes of exercise
each day without even having to go to the gym.
It is true that the implementation of a bike share program will not completely
solve the problem of college obesity or the Freshmen 15, but at the least, it can
increase levels of physical activity and promote fitness. By physically having EZ
Bike and its stations on USC s campus, it serves as a trigger. Written by Jonah
Berger, Contagious: Why Things Catch On is a book that describes how triggers are
able to prompt action.
Alhi Lion Adaptations
As time changes so will animals and I ve created an animal predicted to last 250
million years on madagascar. The Alhi Lion is a beast when it comes to surviving.
So the adaptations it has gained over the years include; the ability to change color at
different times, spikes on the back, and the ability to swim in water. My animal will
be living in the humid sub continental grassland next to a very large river. The Alhi
Lionis normally a soft white color because of a slight mutation in genes. Although it
is white, it can also change colors and camouflage. A white lion in a grassland
probably won t survive very well. Therefore, he adapted so he can change colors.
This will help him when hiding from various predators. Lions today get left
Contemporary versus Historical Photographers
To compare a contemporary photographer with a historical photographer to see how
photography has evolved and how it can be used?
This essay will investigate the work of contemporary photographer Tim Walker, and
historical photographer Ansel Adams. This essay will examine the many changes of
how photography has evolved through the decades from the photographer s style, use
of equipment, techniques and what photography is used for. These changes will be
seen by looking at the contemporary photographer and comparing them to the
historical photographer.
Photography is a word derived from the Greek words photos light and to draw. A
scientist called Sir John F.W. Herschel, which was in 1839, first used the word. It
was a method which was all about recording images by using light or radiation on a
sensitive material. The first known camera was created by Alhazen also known as
who lived around 100AD he invented the first pinhole camera this camera was used
to capture the movement of the sun. Photography was explained to be the science
and art of documenting photographs by capturing light on a light sensitive material
which included film or an electronic sensor. Light could be reflected from objects
which could expose a chemical or electronic material during a timed exposure which
is typically used through a camera which can store the information chemically or
electronically. The first photograph was take in 1827 taken by Joseph Nicephore

Norman F. Cantor s The Black Plague
Norman F. Cantor, a well known author who is a native of Canada. Majority of
Cantor s papers have to deal with the medieval period. In the beginning of this
book, Cantor begins to describe how the black plague began and the symptoms of
the black plague. The black plague was also known as the Black Death. Many have
their own thoughts about how the plague started, but Cantor explains his thoughts
throughout the first section of this book. According to Cantor, the plague started
from a tiny flea. The black plague is thought to have started in Asia and spread
through trade. Shipyards were filthy during the medieval period, which made it
perfect for rodents and rats to live on the ships. Rats were perfect carriers for fleas.
The fleas would live off the rats. Once the ships would enter a new harbor the rats
would get off the ship and invade the new town. The town the ships would dock in
towns that might not have been invaded, but after a ship full of diseased rats ran off
throughout the town, the town was then infected with the black plague. Before long
the rats were not the only carriers of this dreadful disease. House cats were
beginning to carry the black plague. The fleas from the rats would attach to cats and
then the cats would go to their home and then before long the residents of that house
would be infected. Also Cantor talks about the symptoms of the Black Death. If one
would begin to breakout with a fever, headache, abdominal pain, chills, weakness, and
shock, then
America Must Be A Civil War Against Our Democratic
Government
Yglesia is illustrating that America will crumble down at some point. With all the
social, and political issues facing our society, I agree with his statement. I believe that
there would be a civil war against our democratic government. The government
members take advantage of their power in some situations. Some concepts should be
altered. Most people are starting to notice the unfairness and somewhat corrupt
actions governmenttakes. The process as to vote for laws or presidents in this country
and others are not the most thoughtful and reasonable procedures. For example, if
deadlocks were removed from our democracy, it would be a better system. My two
examples on this subject are the immigration law by Obama and the Honduran
President Zelaya trying to alter the constitution. Gridlocks are illustrated in the
article as a cause on why the democratic government is unfair. Gridlocks is a an
argument or proposed law ending in no decision. Gridlocking happens constantly in
our government. An example given was the immigration law, which was not
passed. Obama wanted to grant illegal immigrants access to programs in which
they can become legalized, if they had been in U.S over a period of time and have
children that are citizen or permanent resident. This action was taken to minimize
deportation of parents and families. This law was not passed. President Obama
blamed the 4 4 court deadlock on Congressional inaction. The reason that people are
deported is to
Psalm 78 Is The Psalm Of Remembrance
Psalm 78 is the psalm of remembrance. In the beginning, the psalmist commands the
attention of the present age to what we have heard and known. We should not
conceal them from our children, but it is our responsibility to tell the generations to
come to praise the Lord about his strength and wondrous works he has done. This is
such a good reminder for me! Sometimes we are influenced by the value of this
world and we pay too much attentions to teach the children the knowledge of the
languages, sciences or arts, but we forget the more important thing is to help our
children put their confidence in Godand fear the Lord since they are still young. In
the Psalm 78:9 39, the psalmist remembers many miracles God has done for the

A Virtual Team Between Uber Drivers
Context Uber is a company that I personally admire. It is such a great smart idea to
have people around the world driving other people, and the company just receives
the money by controlling all virtually. I like to use Uber when I travel, it is a
reliable service, and it saves me money and time. After developing this report, I
expect to learn more about the company itself, how efficient the company manage
its operations. How the drivers are hired, it is all virtually? How the drivers
communicate with other Uber drivers? I believe it has to be a virtualteambetween

operational efficiency in a company, and in the future to use my skills to work
effectively with multi cultural virtual teams.
Introduction Uber operates through a mobile app, where people need to create an
account, and a debit or credit card is required to make the payment. The app allows
the consumers to request a trip; then, the software automatically sends a message to
the nearest driver around with the location of the consumer. The drivers use their
own personal cars. The application software calculates the fare trip, and then transfer
the money to the Uber driver. Uber is located around 66 countries in the world. The

Essay On Deobandi Genocide
Another group of people leading to Shia Genocide were the Deobandis . The
Deobandis are groups of Muslims who are connected to and named after the
University of Deoband located in India. It is an intellectual school of thought that is
deeply rooted about Islam and everyone who
graduated becomes a Deobandi or is known for it. The University of Deoband was
founded by a group of Indian ulamaa (scholars) after the British had put a stop to the
Islamic revolution in
India. It s establishment was a strong reaction against western advancement and its
materialistic civilization in the Indian Subcontinent, aimed at saving the Muslims
from the dangers of these circumstances, especially when Delhi, the capital, had been
destroyed following the revolution and the British had taken full control of it. The
scholars feared that their religion might be assimilated, so Shaykh Imdaadullaah al
Muhaajir al Makki and his student Shaykh Muhammad Qaasim al Nanatuwi, and their
companions, drew up a plan to protect Islam and its teachings. They thought that the
solution was to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

45,000 Sufi , Sunni , Ahmadis and other forms of Muslims. Deobandi militants

other communities in Pakistan. [ Nishapuri , 2012 , Pg 2 ]

is becoming increasingly high due to sectarianism. Sectarian cleavages are also
becoming more apparent in the media and political parties and Pakistan is being

The s Front Door At Seven O Clock On A Sunday
Opening Sweetgreen s front door, I instantly felt out of place. At seven o clock on a
Sunday evening, the small salad shop was a place filled with almost all females. Even
though I was anticipating this result, I still found it hard to believe that this restaurant
was always occupied by entirely women. Upon asking an employee about whether my
observation was something that occurs often, he responded, we are Sweetgreen. Of
course, we get a lot more girls than guys. The fact that Sweetgreen attracts girls must
have something to do with how it brands itself. After having trouble finding any
advertisements for the brand online, I concluded that the marketing that attracts these
females must be in the store. After going back to Sweetgreen, I came to the
conclusion that whether intentional or not, Sweetgreen is marketed toward the
stereotypical femaleas seen through its core values, decor, menu options, and
service. Sweetgreen utilizes the fact that the mass media encourages women to
obtain a thin figure, as discussed by Susan Bordo in Hunger as Ideology, in order
to sell their product. Bordo explains that advertisements teach women to view long,
slim legs, a flat stomach, and a firm rear end as essentials of female beauty. (102)
Because advertisers constantly convince women that achieving a thin figure is
important, women eventually became self critical of their bodies. This causes
women to push toward this ideal image by losing weight by eating fewer calories. By
The Importance Of Sociological Imagination
The sociological imagination to me is how a person connects with their
environment and how they interact with their peers. Charles Wright Mills wrote
this work to inform people about the relationship between society and individual
people. This theory has to do with how different scenarios and outcomes come from
a person s surroundings throughout life. A person s sociological imagination shapes
who they are to become. Growing up I have always been interested in playing and
watching sports. My favorite thing to do is watch the Olympics whether it is the
Summer or Winter Olympics. On September 5th, 1997, the day after I was born, the
decision to where the 2004 Summer Olympicswas chosen. Athens, Greece would be

I have always been fascinated with all the events that occur in the Summer
Olympics from diving to soccer. The Olympics were a way for me to get out into
the world. After watching the sports on t.v. I wanted to also play them. From the
ages of five to ten years old, I participated in multiple activities including soccer,
dance, tumbling, basketball, volleyball, softball, cheerleading, and track and field.
At the age of ten, I decided that soccer was my favorite sport out of all the ones I had
tried, so I tried out for a select soccer team and made it. I was determined to get
somewhere with soccer and not just waste all the money and time that my parents
were spending on me. Once high school came around I had no time for anything
other than soccer, soccer, and more soccer. I played select soccer during the Fall and
school soccer during the Spring. As I was approaching my Senior year of high
school, I wasn t sure if anyone was going to want me to play for them in college. I
knew I had to try my best for my parents so on June 18, 2015 I toured Southwestern
Illinois College and was asked if I wanted to play soccer for them and go to school
for free. December 1, 2015 I signed to play soccer for one year with
Comparing the Personalities and Values of Steve Jobs and...
How did Jobs early years, prior to Apple, influence his view about human nature,
work, and assumptions about employees? Please provide specific examples that
support your answer. Jobs early years, prior to Apple influenced his view of life.
Concerning human nature, Jobs believed that human being were spiritual beings. It is
ones responsibility to find the inner spirit, be enlightened to attain inner peace this
enhanced personal growth. He believed that unless one did this, they would be
controlled by their circumstances, the situation in which they found themselves. One
is able to take control of their thought process and view of life. He realized that an
intuitive understanding and consciousness was more significant than abstract
thinking and intellectual logical analysis, (Issacson, 2011, p. 37). His trip to India
magnified this perception as he realized that people in Indian countryside did not use
their intellect as those in the America, instead they used their intuition. He
considered intuition as more powerful than intellect. Steve Jobs early experiences at
his father s garage informed his attitude towards work. To him the key reasons for
work were to get money, adventure, it had to be interesting. He had an attitude that
he could do anything, there was nothing like no in his work vocabulary. What caught
his eye while searching for his first jobs was the Have fun, make money,

Arab-Israeli Conflict Essay
Arab Israeli Conflict During the First World War (1914 1918), Britain met with
problems concerning promises made, yet not being kept. Britain, knowing that it
needed all the help it could get against the German allies, promised land to people
who desperately wanted it. However, as it was revealed Britain had no intention of
honouring their word. The first promise to be made was to the Arabs, in a desperate
attempt to overpower one of the countries the British were fighting; the Turks. The
Arab leader, Sherif Hussein, agreed to help defeat the Turks, on the condition that at
the end of the war, the Arabs would get their freedom. The British accepted the terms,

This was, like the McMahon letter to the Arabs, promising the Jews ownership of
Palestine. This was, made at a time when Britain was having many problems
fighting the allies, and needed all the help they could find. There are a few reasons
why historians believe this letter was issued. It was thought that the Jews in
America and Russia had a lot of money and power, and so would therefore
encourage their governments to continue in the war. There was sympathy for the
Zionists, as the leaders like Balfour knew that the Jews had endured a lot of
hardship, and suffered many injustices, and so saw this promise as a chance to right
some of the wrongs committed. Britain used the Suez Canal, in Egypt. However, it
was right next door to Palestine, and so it would greatly benefit Britain if the people
who governed the neighbouring Palestine, were friendly towards Britain and their
interests. The new leader of the Zionists, Chaim Weizmann, was a friend of a few
leading politicians such as Balfour and the present Prime minister, Lloyd George. It is
quite probable that the British Government had no idea of the changes that this
Declaration would cause on the short and long term effects on the problems between
the Arabs and the Jews. The consequences of these unkept promises were quite
terrible for Britain, making their situation in Europe much worse. The Arabs
The Repositioning of the Common House Phone
Demographics The repositioning of the common house phone is a challenge. One
option for the phone is to sell more landlines phones to developing world nations, but
even there the growth possibilities are slim. There are small markets like Belize, but
in most countries landline infrastructure is becoming limited. There are options,
however, for repositioning the home phone in the United States, with some
modifications to the technology. Lardinois (2010) notes that Americans under the age
of 35 are unlikely to have a landline, as they use wireless devices for their computing
needs. However, even wireless devices rely on hardwire connections to the router. The
common house phone can be repositioned as a multi purpose device, emphasizing a
number of different unique functionality elements. The target market for the
redesigned and repositioned common house phone is the same market that has
eschewed the phone to this point, the urban under 35s. Other target markets already
have house phones, so there is less sales potential. However, by making the common
house phone attractive to the younger demographic, there is strong growth potential
in the new product. The number of under 35s in the United States, according to data
from the US Census Bureau is 145 million, and excluding minors the total target
market is 62.65 million. Types of Research In order to reposition the common house
phone, substantial market research forms will need to be utilized. The objective of the

Stump-Watchers In Han Feiizi s
Han Feizi does not like the way of the former kings, he thinks that it is an old thing
to do. Han Feizi also says, Those who think they can take the ways of the ancient
kings and use them to govern the people of today all belong in the category of
stump watchers (Pg. 98)! This category that he is putting them in, I think is almost
like the lowest of the low. Stump watchers are people who think something that
happened one time will happen repeatedly. He just wants to put a modern way of
thinking on the old. The way that he is going about it though I think is completely
wrong because it is hard to uproot people s lives, and tell them that they are all
wrong. Instead, he could just have tried to bend the rules and modernize them. We see

Doubt would come in the form of showing ambition to gain the throne. I think this
is apparent when Han Feizi says, The beast called the dragon can be tamed and
trained to the point where you may ride on its back. But on the underside of his
throat, it has scaled a foot in diameter that curls back from the body, and anyone
who chances to brush against them is sure to die (Pg. 79). I think this quote is
talking about ambition and how it can get you killed if you do not follow the law.
The law must be clear so that subordinates do not try to become the king. Becoming
the king in the sense that they are not following the rituals assigned to them and
they are following the rituals of the king. To finish off the quote and how it is
relevant to this chapter Han Feizi say, The ruler of men too has as his bristling
scales. Only if a speaker can avoid brushing against them will he have any hope for
success (Pg. 78). This is saying for someone to come into office or ministry that
they should not butt heads with the king. They should abide by the laws and then
not go outside of them. For when they go outside of the laws then they will be
punished for the laws are only beneficial for the king. Someone who is going to try

Flanker Brands
A brand portfolio is all the lines and brands that a company offers. The four brand
roles in a brand portfolio are flankers, cash cows, low end entry, and high end
prestige (Kotler Keller, 2012, p. 123). Flanker brands are usually in addition to a
brand that is offering a high quality product at a higher price (Giddens). The flanker
is supposed to help gain market share without cannibalizing the main brand. A good
example of a flanker brand is Squire Guitars. Squire guitars are about half the price
as Fender guitars. They all look very similar but are lower quality and most are made
at a lower cost outside the United States. Cash cow brands generally have dwindling
sales but remain profitable. They require minimal marketingsupport so

Goblin Market Essay
The aim of this particular essay is to examine and perform an in depth analysis
relating to the theme of sexual temptations within the widely known poem, Goblin
Market, by the Victorian era poet Christina Rossetti. Throughout this particular
poem, Rossetti demonstrates the life of two maidens who live a life surrounded by
sexual temptations; and within this dissertation, I intend to analyze the plethora of
literary devices that Rossetti utilizes in order to portray this theme revolved around
temptation, and the desire to fulfill sexual desires once one has succumbed to the
temptation. The first stanza in the poem itself introduces us to a form of temptation
when it is stated that, Morning and evening / Maids heard the goblins cry: / Come
buy, our orchard fruits, / Come buy, come buy: / Apples and oranges, / Plump
unpecked cherries / Melons and raspberries, / Bloom down cheeked peaches, / Swart

intrigued by the thoughts of what the Goblins fruits might taste like or in a sexual

consuming the fruit is considered to be a metaphor for losing one s sexual
Rational Model Of Decision Making
What do you consider the most important points (or lessons) that were introduced in
the text and class discussion? Were these new topics or did they reinforce what you
had previously learned? What have been your personal experiences and/or how
would you apply these to your workplace?
Tools for decision making is interesting topic to me. I used probability theory some
time using actual values. Often everyone use the probability concept based on the
previous experience and knowledge. This the first time came across decision making
software. I searched internet about decision making software. Those program leads
the user through the steps of the formal decision making process. These days I am
looking for Laboratory Management Software for my work place. I will use
brainstorming concept in this chapter to select good program. I will use rational

The children in the first group displayed highly imitative behaviour (Artino 2006).
The results of the Bobo Doll Experiment created a surge of interest into the possible
correlation between media violence and violent behaviour. Meyers (2002) conducted
a study on the effects of violent video games and violent television (T.V) programs
on primary school boys. The school boys were divided into non violent and violent
conditions; watching a violent or non violent T.V program, playing a violent or non
violent video game or playing a game and watching a T.V program thereafter
(Meyers 2002). The children then had to answer a questionnaire ,whereby they had
to finish a sentence using a violent or non violent word, for example; I want to ___
the book (tear/read) (Meyers 2002, p. 17). The second test of violent behaviour was
the placement of the children in identical conditions to the Bobo Doll Experiment .
According to Meyers (2002), the children in the violent conditions portrayed more
aggressive behaviour patterns than the boys in the non violent condition, the boys in
the combined condition (playing a video game and watching a violent television
program) had significantly higher aggression levels than those in any other condition.
Research conducted by Saleem, Anderson and Gentile (2012), Bushman (1995) as
well as Huesmann and Talyor (2006) focused on the effect
The Influence Of Cultural Changes In Dracula
After Bram Stoker published the iconic vampire classic, Dracula, in 1897, the world
of literary vampires grew more popular and eventually, dramatically shifted towards
cultural changes revolving around global historical events and new American values.
As the Second Industrial Revolution approached in the end of the nineteenth and
early twentieth centuries, vampirism became based on the accelerating influences of
science and technology, as well as, religion and gender. (Dartmouth) Stoker is
described to have transformed vampirefolklore into a literary icon by emphasizing the
nature of the vampire [as a threat of the unknown] and placing it into a modern
setting. (Shepard, 2010) As vampires gained momentum, they became more
disturbing and dynamic: from mythical monsters straying far away from humanity to
even ones centered in love triangles who sought for empathy. America s cultural
identity ultimately reflected onto vampire literature, creating a chain reaction of
distinct elements that included secularization, psychoanalysis, and social policy.
The cultural influences on vampires first affected their origins and setting; vampires
were no longer limited to European countries like the United Kingdom or Romania.
In fact, according to Dartmouth, the United States gradually became the vampire
capital of the world in the twentieth century. American urbanization dramatically
altered lifestyles and towards the 1920s, a majority of the population lived in cities,
according to the
##radionalism In Athol Fugard s My Children My Africa
Athol Fugard believed that gradualism was the best way to overcome an oppressive
regime and he tries to demonstrate this in his play My Children! My Africa! The
play revolves around three characters named Mr. M, Thami and Isabel who live in
South Africa. Through these characters, Athol Fugard tells a story where he tries to
persuade the audience that gradualism is better than violenceas a means to _______.
Although Athol Fugardsucceeds in proving that gradualism is a morally better way
to deal with an oppressive system, he fails to prove that gradualism is a
strategically better way to overcome an oppressive government. Throughout the
play, Mr. M and Thami, his student, disagree on how to deal with the racism in their
oppressive government. Mr. M, like Athol Fugard, believes in a more gradualist
approach because he does not hate his way of life as a teacher, which is only made
possible because of the government. Thami has very different views on the racism
and the control the government has and he makes this clear multiple times. Thami
says to Mr. M and Isabel, when they are all having a conversation at the school, The
comrades are imposing a discipline which struggle needs at this point. There is no
comparison between that and the total denial of our Freedom by the white
government. (Fugard 57) Thami says this because he believes that the government
is terrible so he is completely against the gradualist approach. After Mr. M s death
Thami says to Isabel, in a conversation they have about how and why Mr. M was
killed. Operation Qhumisa ... the boycotts and strikes, the arson ... you know he
didn t agree with any of that. (Fugard 72) Mr. M died because he was against the
comrades and he helped the police. When Thami is mad at Mr. M and is talking to
Isabel he says He is out of touch with what is really happening to us blacks (Fugard
42) Mr. M is out of touch with what other black peoplein the country feel because he
thinks that they should not be violent. Despite what Mr. M thinks, most of the black
community believes that the only way to bring about change is to be violent, which
is a better idea strategically. The one person in the play who openly supported
gradualism died because he was unable to
Life Pi By Yann Martel And The Movie Life Of Pi Directed...
Many famous novels have been rearranged in order to make movies. However, the
quality of the movie, a lot of the times, depends on the changes made when adapting
the novel to film. The director of the movie needs to make sure that the film does not
cut off significant parts, and at the same time, abstain from the unnecessary parts the
writer made without changing the whole theme. Moreover, they need to add in more
characters and scenes to make the film more creative and understandable. In this
essay, the comparison of differences in the novel Life of Piby Yann Marteland the
movie Life of Pi directed by Lee Ann will be discussed.
The setting has not changed when it is transferred to the movie. The settings are:

So Pi s mother forces Pi to work for a dance class to calm down, but one of the
dancers soon adapt a deep relationship with Pi. This situation actually makes Pi s
move to Canada more difficult. Thus, it led to another conjecture of Pi was trying to
hide his girlfriend onto the lifeboat and bring her also to Canada, because in the
movie, Pi mentioned, ... but I don t remember saying goodbye.
What books cannot achieve is the sceneries and effects that film can include.
Compare to the book, Lee created more stunning scenes using special effects. When
the readers reach to the point of Pi describing the ocean, they can try their best to
imagine the whole landscape and situation, but the feeling of helplessly floating on
the ocean cannot be illustrated using only personal experiences. The ocean in the
movie can remind the audiences about how small people are compared to the world
the irresistible sense of unknown and tininess, would provoke people to think about
their origins. The sunken scene of the ship Tsimtsum is tiny compared to Titanic , but
at the moment of the ship sank, when Pi is floating on the dark ocean in the night, the
drowning feeling that audiences can experience certainly is not worse than Titanic .
Lee used lots of scenes and background music to bring immersive feeling to the
audiences. When it reached to the storm scene, the camera
Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital...
There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression,
marital satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction. Depression is defined as a medical
illness that causes feelings of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of
worthlessness, and many other symptoms including thoughts of death and suicide.
Many researchers measure depression using various methods such as affective self
reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and some adults, but depression
affects many others persons within our social networks. This can be explained by the
socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that individuals
influence one another in a way that one individual s psychological issues, such as
depression or happiness, will spread to other social contacts, much like the spread of
an infectious disease. Thus, depression can negatively affect marital satisfaction.
Marital satisfaction refers to whether the partners are content with their marriage and
is often measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self
report measures. If depression negatively affects marital satisfaction, then it will be
contributing to marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction indicates the negative
evaluation of a person s marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of
behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. Research shows that there is
correlation between marital dissatisfaction and

Cloud Of Cloud And Cloud Computing
Cloud Based Services Introduction Cloud computing is an Internet based type of
computing through shared computer processing resources. Data is availed
through the device on demand. In cloud computing provision of resources is
achieved through an Internet connection. Resources shared include servers,
storage, services and applications. History of Cloud Computing The term cloud
computing was first coined in 1996. However, the idea of sharing computing
resources was conceived in the early 1970 s. Cloud refers to an agglomeration of
objects, and it is used in cloud computing to refer to a set of things that are used
together. In 1977, ARPANET used a cloudlike logo in referencing their network
that had interconnected a variety of computer resources. A cluster of servers in the
company s premises looked like a cloud. Their server was circular, and the
agglomeration of the servers ended up looking like a crowd. In 1981 CSNET
another predecessor also used a cloud symbol for their computing components. In
the 1970 s various computing firms popularized a time sharing concept meant to
save computing time. Large vendors such as IBM and DEC adopted a full time
sharing option whereby servers would be dedicated to performing one service (Feng
et al. 2012). IBM predominately run mainframes. In the 1990 s telecommunication
companies started offering data primarily on point to point circuits known as Virtual
private networks (VPN). VPN was cheaper and offered a better quality of service;
T-Shirts form Lubbok
It is very likely that our T shirts are born near Lubbock, Texas, which is the known
to be the cottonest city in the whole world. Nelson Reinsch is a very successful
cotton farmer. Him and his wife Ruth tend to be seen as people whose minds are
opening rather than closing as they approach the ends of their lives. Producing cotton
is no longer the exhausting physical process that it used to be, but Nelson and Ruth
still fight both the impulses of nature and the moods of the markets. Every summer,
they take on the different types of weathers they have to face and compete with
cotton farmers from over 70 countries. Nelson Reinsch 1,000 acres can produce about
500,000 pounds of cotton lint if it is fully planted, which is enough for about 1.3
million T shirts. Him ending his life in the same occupation that he began with makes
a clear statement about the U.S. cotton industry. For over 200 years, The U.S. has
been the certain leader of the global cotton industry. Poor countries have a very small
chance to catch up with all the challenges they face. The U.S. has dominantly
occupied first place in cotton production, cotton exports, farm size, and yields per
acre. American industries usually compete with countries that are similar to them.
For example, U.S. forms compete with Japanese automakers, German chemical
companies, and Swiss pharmaceuticals. For climatic reasons, there are few advanced
industrial economies that produce cotton. American cotton growers compete with
Julia Butterfly Hill American Heroin Essay example
Why should I care about some lady living in a tree? Is the question that I asked
myself before I read the book В‘The Legacy of Luna . Like most people, I glanced
at its contents ran my fingers through the pages and decided that it would not interest
me. However it was not long before I changed my mind after reading about her
magnificent inner strength and my doubts were soon disbanded for I began to realize
its inspiration and the author s inner strength.
В‘The Legacy of Luna is filled with self determination, love and sacrifice. These
commodities outline the path of which Julia embarked upon to discover her true
character. It s an epic battle between our heroine of the novel and her oppressors, also
known as the lumbering companies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was at this very moment that she realized that one of her goals was to be protector
of these majestic trees.
Upon her volunteering for a tree sit (something she knew nothing about) in her
effort to become part of the solution, her journey began. Her calling in life had
found her, and she was determined not to shirk her responsibilities, but rather live up
to the task she believed to have been presented with. So strongly she felt about this
task, that she was very determined to overcome any obstacles that could be put in her
way.
Julia speaks of her childhood at the very beginning of the novel. She speaks of her
preparations for the challenges of life, how she was poor and deprived of luxuries
that most children desired and how religion played a very important roll in her
families life.
Indeed, Julia was the daughter of a preacher and this family environment set the tone
of her spiritual beliefs and morals. One may argue that her home environment may
have prepared her well for the future events, considering she did not abandon her
spiritual feeling when she came upon the redwoods in the park.
She survived sorrowful nights, braved many a storm and kept her strength against
media scrutiny. To add insult to injury she also survived the harsh battle with
lumbering organizations as well as the opposition from the home team as even some
of her fellow activists stood against her.
Julia s amazing faith coincided with her strength in
Comparing Italy And The United States Of America
For my research paper I have chosen to compare two countries which have totally
different cultures, Italy, and the United States of America. I decided to compare
these countries for two reasons, the first being that as an Italian I can better point
out the differences I have noticed living back and fourth in the US since a young
age, and the second and main reason is because during our course we have been
discussing on how bribing practices were banned and partially reintroduced in the
U.S. due to unfair competition from foreign companies abroad. First lets focus on
the culture of these two beautiful but very different countries. Italy for example has a
collectivistic society, while the U.S. has a very individualistic one, and the
population of the latter is very affective compared to the more neutral U.S.. The two
cultures also express themselves differently since the U.S. population tends to be very
specific, while the Italians are more diffuse when talking about something important.
Due to the fact that the Italians are more affective, they tend to demonstrate further
their feelings by protecting and helping their sons as much as possible, and the
whole culture could be perceived as an ascribed one, especially by achieved ones.
Just by thinking that some of the best poets, writers, thinkers, musicians, astronomers,
scientists, inventors, and explorers were and are still are Italian can clear this
misconception. Also other aspects are different, for example the social

Organizational culture can be divided into four categories through the competing
values framework: clan culture, adhocracy culture, hierarchy culture and market
culture. Clan culture is characterized by employee development or empowerment,
teamwork, commitment, participation and loyalty. Market culture is oriented toward
the external environment and it is focused on transactions with external
constituencies, including customers, suppliers and regulators etc. (Cameron Quinn,

Describe and Evaluate Psychological Definitions of...
Describe and evaluate psychological definitions of abnormal behavior According to
the science of psychology one s behavior needs to follow a certain criteria in order
to be deemed normal . If one s behavior does not match the criteria, their behavior is
seen as undesirable and wrong (requires change). For this physiologists need to be
able to view a person s behavior and be able to tell the difference between normal
and abnormal. Whilst defining the normality of ones behavior physiologists need to
be careful to remain objective and as free of any bias as possible, furthermore their
experiment to determine ones behavior needs to be repeatable and reliable. In order
to do this psychologists often consults the characteristics of... Show more content on

The limitations of observing behavior in this manor lay in the fact that different
cultures have different norms. Not to mention the fact that in any given culture
norms evolve. What may have once been acceptable in the 80 s is not necessarily
acceptable today. Abnormality of one s behavior can also be monitored by looking
at its statistical frequency. Meaning how common ones behavior is when
compared to the rest of the public. If one s behavior is shared by many it is deemed
common and therefore normal , however if ones behavior is uncommon or rare, it
is deemed abnormal. For example one may say that an individual who has an IQ
below or above the average level of IQ in society is abnormal. The problem with
this system is the fact that, it does not account for the desirability of the given
behavior. In other words this system claims that both low and high IQ s are an
abnormality that need to be treated. Physiologists and others interested in normality ,
look over at ones behavior to see how well they can function. If one is unable to
function adequately they are deemed abnormal. In order to determine how well one
functions, psychologists consult Rosenhan and Seligman s list of characteristics that
define abnormality (1989). Rosenhan and Seligman argued that in order to classify
someone as inadequate in life they must meet several of the characteristics as a pose to
Summary Of Birnam Wood
The story, Birnam Wood by T. Coraghessan Boyle, is about a young man named
Keith who was a part time substitute teacher who filled in whenever he received a
call. Not having a steady job meant that Keith and his unemployed girlfriend Nora
could only afford to live in small rundown shacks. Keith describes the first place
they lived in as, a shack, a converted chicken coop from a time long gone. (156)
One day the two of them go to look at another seasonal rental, only this one was
smaller and neither of them like it. Keith says that this was awkward for him, he
felt that he was the provider and was beginning to resent Nora for not working. The
following day a friend of theirs, Artie, calls to tell them about a place they could
possibly stay. Keith and Nora eventually house sit a much nicer place for the rest of
the season, and Nora finally obtains a part timejob working at a local bar as a
hostess. One evening, Keith stays at the bar and begins talking to Steve (another
patron at the bar). When Steve shows interest in Nora, Keith dismisses it, and other
things are said and eventually personal information is exchanged. At the end of the
night Steve shows up in the house with a bottle of tequila to see Nora. After trying
to get Steve to leave, Nora (who appears to be upset and confused about why this
man is in their house looking for her) essentially allows Steve to stay. At the end of
the story Keith is left standing outside peeping into a window of a nearby

minister of the church. In evaluating the interim ministry to date, the feedback
offered in this evaluation has been obtained from members, leadership, and those who
serve as part of the ministry screening team.

scheduled and when.
Visitation
During this time, you have made a good effort to work at visitation for those in the
congregation. We do appreciate your service in this area.
Preaching
This is one area where Dwight thought he could help take pressure off of you by
preaching every other week and teaching Sunday evening and Wednesday. There will
be times when you can assist (e.g. Every other Sunday morning, some Sunday
/Wednesday nights, and Thursday men s study).
Some members have observed that they do not like or understand the use of King
James Bible. Other options such as NASB, New King James, NIV (1984 edition)
would be more useful with this congregation. As noted to you, this is a very Bible
intelligent church and like in depth sermon material. While we follow Biblical
doctrine and direction, SACC is not a conservative church to the point where we use
King James.
Concerns have been expressed that many sermons have tended to be evangelistic in
nature. Members have noted that the majority of the congregation is already
Pancakes Vs Waffles Research Paper
In a battle of epic proportions, who will win? Waffles or Pancakes? While both are
widely eaten and made, pancakes, with their easy assembly, creativity, and
versatility, are the superior breakfast food. Both pancakes and waffles are popular
breakfast foods that everyone has eaten. I too have had, and made, many pancakes
and waffles in my lifetime. Pancakes are far easier to assemble. They only require
premade pancakemix, a stove, and a pan. Everyone has these things! A waffleiron,
however, is much harder to come by. Waffle irons also constrict creativity. All of
your waffles are going to be in whatever standard square or circular shape your
waffle iron is. Pancakes can be made into any shape! People even endeavor into

Of the many genres of music, reggae is one that displays a positive message to its

more commonly known as Bob Marley. Marley connected with his audience on a

In Jamaica, Marley could voice the feelings and opinions of his fellow citizens,
who were delusional with the failures of independence and the breakdown of local
politics. The role of music in Jamaica contributed to Marley?s music. It helped play
an important role in giving voice and communicating with an increasingly
important political class in the evolving country. Undoubtedly, he was favored by
both sides of the politic battle in Jamaica and with many other nations around the
world. Marley avoided direct involvement in politics, because the Rastafarian
people believe that activities like that were essentially invalid manifestations of the
work of higher government authorities against which they believed. One of the
original reasons behind Bob Marley?s emergence as a leader within post
independent Jamaica was simple: the complete failure of the country?s political
leaders to represent the needs of the black lower classes in the years before and
after their independence. By staying away from the malevolent competitive battles
of the actual and possible political leaders, he could attract a group of followers that
others could not amass. ?As former Jamaican prime minister Michael Manley has
noted, ?Marley took what was a subculture in Jamaica and elevated it to a dominant
culture?[He] took a folk art and he elevated it into a universal language of
communication.? Perhaps the expansion of black culture was even more important
than political

A home is a place of relaxing, thinking and most importantly, life. The story Shift by
Hugh Howey is a story with a gigantic amount of twists throughout the story which
get you with surprise and frustration. Donald is a democrat who is recently elected
and hopes to bring change to washington. A setting that I thought was important was
Donalds childhood drawing. It represented a memory that was long forgotten and
yet very important to Donald as it helped him remember his past in preparation for
his future. Although, this picture was also very dangerous. It was a picture which
was to be, the end of the world. I felt that this picture made Donald even more
serious about his job and his life, and it helps him to realise that even the smallest
The Morlocks
When most people think about the future they think the human race will make many
advances like flying cars and spaceships. This could be true but another possibility is
that the opposite could happen. In this book H.G. Wells explores that possibility. In
the book The Time Machine t he Time Traveler, who is the protagonist, travels to
year eight hundred and two thousand and finds out that man has not advanced in the
future. He discovers this when he encounters two different types of species, the Eloi
and the Morlocks. He comes up with different ideas about them based on his
encounters with them. Many of his theories are centered about their evolutionas
descendants of the human race. H.G Wells based some of his book on a book by

Wells book The Time Machine was heavily influenced by Charles Darwins book On
the Origin of the Species . The Time Machine expressed Darwin s theory that
humans will continually evolve. This is apparent when the Time Traveler first met
the Eloi and saw how they have not advanced but still changed. Another of Darwin s
theories expressed in the book was natural selection where the Morlocks used their
abilities to catch and kill the Eloi in order to survive. The final theory expressed in
the book reflects the idea that in nature organisms are limited in their ability to
survive based on how their climate changes. Wells showed this when the Morlocks
got so used to living underground that their eyes changed and they couldn t really see
above ground. In this book H.G. Wells illustrates the possible outcomes of Darwin s
theories of evolution and used Darwinism to introduce the possibility that evolution

Analyble Themes In The Calculus Diaries By Jennifer
Ouellette
The author of The Calculus Diaries, Jennifer Ouellette, conveys a story to the
reader that calculus isn t as evil as everyone makes it seem, and to show its uses in
everyday life. This happens expertly by using relatable topics such as gambling in
Vegas, how to lose weight, and how to survive the zombie apocalypse. Ouellette
makes it a key point that anyone can understand and apply calculus, even those who
dread even hearing the term. In addition, since every chapter has a new topic the
characters around her vary, but she remains the narrator of the story. One explanation
about why she does this is because she describes calculus as being on par with a story
where the main character and viewpoint can change the entire meaning of the story....

One weakness this book has though is the fact that it sometimes strayed too far from
the main purpose of the book that the reader could become bored before the author
reaches her main point. For example, on many occasions throughout the book
Ouellette dives too deep into the history of the people who came up with theories,
hypotheses, or equations and this distracts from the main purpose of the book, which
is to make calculus more engaging for the readers. Finally, this book was enjoyable
because it allowed for a better understanding of a complicated topic by using a variety
of interesting examples where calculus is important. Also, since the longer chapters
where broken up into smaller sections it was easier to read it faster and making the
book more pleasurable. I would recommend this book highly to other students who
want to go into a career that will deal with a bunch of calculus because it
intelligently shows you the basic concepts, but in an easy to understand way. This
book challenges the reader to take a step back and look at the more interesting side of
calculus to gain a more solid understanding. For the mechanical engineering major,
one must complete Calculus I, II, and III, so having a strong foundation of knowledge
makes these easier in the long run. Also, the test this book puts on its readers is to
make calculus more fun, which makes me more inclined to join clubs and
organizations on campus that use calculus because that is the easiest way to
The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer Essay
The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer Are there many ways that themes and
symbols can be shown in stories? Geoffrey Chaucer uses many different themes,
symbols and styles in writing all of tales in The Canterbury Tales. By using these
things, Geoffrey utilizes several specific symbols to illustrate various central
themes. The characters in the tales make the same mistakes that ordinary people
would make, and they receive the same or even worse consequences. One message
that is portrayed is greed can make people to evil actions. An example of this is in
The Pardoner s Tale, when the three friends wind up killing each other because of
their greed for the money. The second message that is displayed is that one should be
careful when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While he is gone the two other friends talk and plot actions to occur when he
returns. The one friend says to the other, You see that we are two, And two are
twice as powerful as one. Now look; when he comes back, get up in fun To have a
wrestle; then, as you attack, I ll up and put my dagger through his back While you
and he are struggling, as in game; Then draw your dagger too and do the same.
Then all this money will be ours to spend, Divided equally of course, dear friend.
(Page 163 line 166 174) By them both agreeing to this, they believe that they will
have more money to split between the two of them by killing the other one. This is
proof that they are greedy because all three of them found the money and each one
deserves their share of the money. Plus they are all friends with eachother and
should be splitting the money, not trying to stab each other in the back in order for
them to get more money. The next example showing how greed can deceive friends
is portrayed when the friend goes into town. As the other two were plotting a plan,
so was the friend that went to town. However, none of them thought that the other
friend would also be plotting kill them. He slyly says to himself, And so the Fiend,
our common enemy, Was given power to put it in his thought That there was always
poison to be bought, And that with poison he could kill his friends. To men in such a

Han Chinese Culture Influence On Taiwan
Taiwan is located east off the coast of China. The island of Taiwan has a history
dating back to over fifteen million years ago, and the earliest people who lived on
Taiwan were there 37 thousand years ago. The Austronesians, the indigenous people
of Taiwan, were the earliest inhabitants. Because their languages, society, and cultures
were so varied, people speculate that the indigenous people of Taiwan arrived at
different times and from different parts of Asia.
Taiwan has a long history of being fought over by China and Japan. China s Ching
Empire first colonized Taiwan and the people who populated the colonies are Han
Chinese who came from China. Han Chinese make up the overwhelming majority of
the current population in Taiwan. Taiwan was also a colony of Japan after Japan,
undertaking massive military expansion in the footsteps of European empires,
defeated the Ching Empire with their modern weapons (Wang, Hsiu Huei 15). Taiwan
was later returned to China after the Sino Japanese War.
The Aborigines who first populated Taiwan seemed to gradually diminish over time
as the Han Chinese took over the lands. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The culture the Han Chinese brought over from China was integrated with the culture
of the Aborigines of Taiwan. Both cultures had some influence on each other, but the
main influences flowed from China to Taiwan. What s interesting is that although
Taiwan s Aborigines culture was so heavily influenced by China, the customs and
cultures of many Aboriginal groups, especially those of the mountain Aborigines,
remain intact (Copper 39 40). The educated population in Taiwan became interested
in Chinese calligraphy and traditional dance. The older generation was part of the
opera culture. Primary and secondary schools were required to include music in the
curriculum, which increased the development of culture and cultural awareness in the
younger generations (Copper
Bullying And Stereotypes
In yesterday s society, bullying was most common in boys, whether it be that the
boy is the bully or the victim. However, the percentage of girls that are victimized
or are bullying others is increasing daily. This is due to social media, behavior
patterns and newly defined gender roles society has taken on to a new level. The
definition of bullyingis changing as well, it is not simply to physically abuse a victim
but to harm them in a way. This includes physically and mentally whether it be
through someone s words or through online interactions. (Include Study) Even though
bullying has been dominated by boys, girls have always been part of the picture.
Generally, they displaying bullying behavior subtlety by gossiping, spreading rumors,

You see things in shows like girls playing with their barbies wearing cute pink
outfits while the boys roughhouse in the background playing sports. The media has
a very compelling influence on today s society, its shapes our perspective on life
without us realizing it, all the while altering our behaviors and attitudes towards
social norms. One example is If teenagers see unrealistic thin or muscular body types
often enough, it can have an impact on their body image and dieting behavior. But it
doesn t start with the media, of course, it starts with our parents and their own gender
orientations. As we grow up, other groups influence
Organized Crime Control Act Of 1970
Consequently, the federal government enacted the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe
Streets Act of 1968 which granted money to state law enforcement and allowed
wiretapping in cases of suspected criminals; it was a first and direct attack to
organized crime as a whole but not criminal organizations (Finklea). Realizing this,
the federal government passed The Organized CrimeControl Act of 1970 which gave
more power to the government in order to combat and prosecute criminal
organizations (Finklea). As mentioned in the same article, it allowed Special Grand
Juries to investigate multi jurisdictional organized crimes and for witnesses to be
granted immunity from prosecution in exchange for testimonies and protection of
themselves and their families

Atrial Relaxation
Moreover, atrial stimulation close to the AV BT insertion site results in maximal
preexcitation. Failure of atrial stimulation to increase the amount of preexcitation
can occur because of markedly enhanced AVN conduction, the presence of another
AV BT, or pacing induced block in the AV BT due to the long ERP of the BT (Kuo
et al, 1996). FIGURE 4: Effect of atrial extrastimulation on preexcitation. A:
Manifest preexcitation during normal sinus rhythm (NSR) with HV interval value

NETWORK EVOLUTION in 3G / 4G
Abstract: During the 20th century, the key technology was information gathering,
processing and distribution. This total technology will depend based on the network
systems. Which are nothing but grouping of systems that should be controlled by a
server. In business and home applications, mobile users and in all social issues the
networks are used . To enhance the benefits of these networks, we are introducing 3G

Birth Order And Personality Development
For many years, birth order was noted as a distinguishable characteristic in
determining the personality of child. In the early 1900s, when Alfred Adler first
established the concept of birth order, he became the first theorist to give a new
dimension to personality development. Not only did he look at the influence parents
had on personality development but the influence of siblings and the biological
position each of them grew up within their family (Boeree, 2006). Adler identified
five fundamental positions in which a child would be categorized into based on their
birth order. These are; the first born child, the second born child, the middle child, the
youngest child and the only child.
Murphy (2012), acknowledges that there are two types of birth order, actual and
psychological. Actual birth order is the order in which a child is born into the world,
whereas psychological birth order is the position in which the child perceives him or
herself to be in the family. Since the inception of the birth ... Show more content on

That general rule being the personality traits assigned to specified birth order
positions. It is said that even though siblings grow up together, they have different
experiences based on their actual birth order, however, it should be noted that these
siblings can share these different experiences that become memories. Rather than
becoming enemies and allowing those differences to drift you apart, they can become
best friends and, even without or sharing the connotations of each birth order
personality characteristic (Murphy, 2012). Parents play a role in how these feelings
towards their siblings manifest, whether good or bad. If a parent consistently tells the
oldest sibling that they have to be responsible and they have to be this and be that
for their younger siblings, then of course the first born will develop the personality
traits of a leader or
We Still Judge Other People By Kamaal Majed
Till today, our society still judge other people by their appearance or race. When
people see a person what would they do first? Of course, they would judge them by
their skin color and clothes and appearance. Before even have the chance to know
them. In the story, Being content with myself, Kamaal Majeed is a great example
how this young man had overcome this situation. In the story, a young man had to
face with racial stereotype. Since he is not acting the same way as his skin color.
People expected him to like rap songs, wear baggy clothes, and be dumb since he is
African American. Due to the fact, that he isn t acting like how others people had
expected him to be. He felt annoyed and depressed. However, he was able to stick to

The Roman Architecture And Engineering
Imagine what the world would be like today; it would be a huge mess if we didn t
have roads or helpful structures that we take for granted every day and barely even
think about, what we don t think about is the history behind these unique frames of
stone, concrete, and wood. In 476 C.E. when Rome fell to the barbaric tribes, the
Roman Empirewas done for, and had no chance of coming back to greatness; so
why is it still looked upon as an amazing feat of ruling? A legacy is a reminder of
something, like an empire, that was once great and inspired many things today, the
way Roman architecture and engineering has. If we didn t have any of these great
Roman architectural feats, then many people today wouldn t have a roof over their
heads, and it would take much longer to get from place to place. The Roman legacies
were the Roman architecture and engineering that has inspired and impacted millions
of structures and helpful inventions. I think that it is safe to say that Roman
architecture and engineering has had the greatest impact on today s society. The three
most important Roman architectural feats are arches and aqueducts, the Coliseum,
and Roman roads. These three inspirational Roman structures and feats of
engineering has inspired thousands of modern day buildings that we visit and use
every day. Arches are an important legacy of the Roman Empire. The Romans
realized that arches used less material than walls, which saved money and space! It
saved space

  • 2. Inclusion Education For Children With Disabilities Abstract This assignment will give an insight into what inclusion education is, and the way in which a target school relates inclusion to their students. It will focus upon Asperger s within the school, and show how Asperger s is treated to ensure inclusion is met. The assignment will argue the policies set in place and, with the literature review, will source findings and compare them with the schools ethos. Introduction The earliest legislation and act brought about that acknowledged a disability within the UK came about in the 1300 s. This simple act stated that; The English monarch to seize the property of people with mental illness or disability (De Praerogativa Regis). (See Appendix B) Clearly legislation has come a long way from this point, and schools have a variety of inclusion policies that are aimed at Special Education Needs (SEN). The first act aimed towards the education of children with disabilities was that of the Elementary Education (Blind and Deaf Children Act of 1893) which transferred responsibility for the education of blind and Deaf children to local education authorities . (NHS, 2012) This act was then followed with the updated 1944 Act which stated mainstream schools are likely to be the most appropriate environment in which to teach disabled children . (The Education Act of 1944) It was in 2010 that all previous anti discrimination laws were unified together under a single act: The Equality Act of 2010 (EqA) which brought together race,
  • 3. Cycling Advantages Benefits of Cycling Although cycling is not the popular choice among people, there is no doubt that it offers more health benefits than other modes of transportations. An assessment done by the American College Health Association reported that roughly 53% of students were not engaging in the daily recommended amount of exercise (Bopp 359). To add to that, something that always comes to mind when thinking about college and health is the infamous Freshmen 15. In the midst of their busy lives with classes, friends, and extra curricular activities, many students, particularly freshmen, are unable to find the time to work out. EZ Bike is a great way to help students incorporate a little more physical activity in their day while obtaining utility to get to places faster. A university survey shows that roughly one third of USC students did not even exercise for a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes any day of week ( Healthy). By using a bike to ride around campus, students could easily obtain 20 to 30 minutes of exercise each day without even having to go to the gym. It is true that the implementation of a bike share program will not completely solve the problem of college obesity or the Freshmen 15, but at the least, it can increase levels of physical activity and promote fitness. By physically having EZ Bike and its stations on USC s campus, it serves as a trigger. Written by Jonah Berger, Contagious: Why Things Catch On is a book that describes how triggers are able to prompt action.

So the adaptations it has gained over the years include; the ability to change color at different times, spikes on the back, and the ability to swim in water. My animal will be living in the humid sub continental grassland next to a very large river. The Alhi Lionis normally a soft white color because of a slight mutation in genes. Although it is white, it can also change colors and camouflage. A white lion in a grassland probably won t survive very well. Therefore, he adapted so he can change colors. This will help him when hiding from various predators. Lions today get left
  • 5. Contemporary versus Historical Photographers To compare a contemporary photographer with a historical photographer to see how photography has evolved and how it can be used? This essay will investigate the work of contemporary photographer Tim Walker, and historical photographer Ansel Adams. This essay will examine the many changes of how photography has evolved through the decades from the photographer s style, use of equipment, techniques and what photography is used for. These changes will be seen by looking at the contemporary photographer and comparing them to the historical photographer. Photography is a word derived from the Greek words photos light and to draw. A scientist called Sir John F.W. Herschel, which was in 1839, first used the word. It was a method which was all about recording images by using light or radiation on a sensitive material. • 6. Norman F. Cantor s The Black Plague Norman F. Cantor, a well known author who is a native of Canada. Majority of Cantor s papers have to deal with the medieval period. In the beginning of this book, Cantor begins to describe how the black plague began and the symptoms of the black plague. The black plague was also known as the Black Death. Many have their own thoughts about how the plague started, but Cantor explains his thoughts throughout the first section of this book. According to Cantor, the plague started from a tiny flea. The black plague is thought to have started in Asia and spread through trade. Shipyards were filthy during the medieval period, which made it perfect for rodents and rats to live on the ships. Rats were perfect carriers for fleas. The fleas would live off the rats. Once the ships would enter a new harbor the rats would get off the ship and invade the new town. The town the ships would dock in towns that might not have been invaded, but after a ship full of diseased rats ran off throughout the town, the town was then infected with the black plague. Before long the rats were not the only carriers of this dreadful disease. House cats were beginning to carry the black plague. The fleas from the rats would attach to cats and then the cats would go to their home and then before long the residents of that house would be infected. Also Cantor talks about the symptoms of the Black Death. If one would begin to breakout with a fever, headache, abdominal pain, chills, weakness, and shock, then
  • 7. America Must Be A Civil War Against Our Democratic Government Yglesia is illustrating that America will crumble down at some point. With all the social, and political issues facing our society, I agree with his statement. I believe that there would be a civil war against our democratic government. The government members take advantage of their power in some situations. Some concepts should be altered. Most people are starting to notice the unfairness and somewhat corrupt actions governmenttakes. The process as to vote for laws or presidents in this country and others are not the most thoughtful and reasonable procedures. For example, if deadlocks were removed from our democracy, it would be a better system. My two examples on this subject are the immigration law by Obama and the Honduran President Zelaya trying to alter the constitution. Gridlocks are illustrated in the article as a cause on why the democratic government is unfair. Gridlocks is a an argument or proposed law ending in no decision. Gridlocking happens constantly in our government. An example given was the immigration law, which was not passed. Obama wanted to grant illegal immigrants access to programs in which they can become legalized, if they had been in U.S over a period of time and have children that are citizen or permanent resident. This action was taken to minimize deportation of parents and families. This law was not passed. President Obama blamed the 4 4 court deadlock on Congressional inaction. The reason that people are deported is to
  • 8. Psalm 78 Is The Psalm Of Remembrance Psalm 78 is the psalm of remembrance. In the beginning, the psalmist commands the attention of the present age to what we have heard and known. We should not conceal them from our children, but it is our responsibility to tell the generations to come to praise the Lord about his strength and wondrous works he has done. This is such a good reminder for me! Sometimes we are influenced by the value of this world and we pay too much attentions to teach the children the knowledge of the languages, sciences or arts, but we forget the more important thing is to help our children put their confidence in Godand fear the Lord since they are still young. In the Psalm 78:9 39, the psalmist remembers many miracles God has done for the Israel and how God

The Deobandis are groups of Muslims who are connected to and named after the University of Deoband located in India. It is an intellectual school of thought that is deeply rooted about Islam and everyone who graduated becomes a Deobandi or is known for it. The University of Deoband was founded by a group of Indian ulamaa (scholars) after the British had put a stop to the Islamic revolution in India. It s establishment was a strong reaction against western advancement and its materialistic civilization in the Indian Subcontinent, aimed at saving the Muslims from the dangers of these circumstances, especially when Delhi, the capital, had been destroyed following the revolution and the British had taken full control of it. The scholars feared that their religion might be assimilated, so Shaykh Imdaadullaah al Muhaajir al Makki and his student Shaykh Muhammad Qaasim al Nanatuwi, and their companions, drew up a plan to protect Islam and its teachings. • 12. The s Front Door At Seven O Clock On A Sunday Opening Sweetgreen s front door, I instantly felt out of place. At seven o clock on a Sunday evening, the small salad shop was a place filled with almost all females. Even though I was anticipating this result, I still found it hard to believe that this restaurant was always occupied by entirely women. Upon asking an employee about whether my observation was something that occurs often, he responded, we are Sweetgreen. Of course, we get a lot more girls than guys. The fact that Sweetgreen attracts girls must have something to do with how it brands itself. After having trouble finding any advertisements for the brand online, I concluded that the marketing that attracts these females must be in the store. After going back to Sweetgreen, I came to the conclusion that whether intentional or not, Sweetgreen is marketed toward the stereotypical femaleas seen through its core values, decor, menu options, and service. Sweetgreen utilizes the fact that the mass media encourages women to obtain a thin figure, as discussed by Susan Bordo in Hunger as Ideology, in order to sell their product. Bordo explains that advertisements teach women to view long, slim legs, a flat stomach, and a firm rear end as essentials of female beauty. (102) Because advertisers constantly convince women that achieving a thin figure is important, women eventually became self critical of their bodies. This causes women to push toward this ideal image by losing weight by eating fewer calories. By
  • 13. The Importance Of Sociological Imagination The sociological imagination to me is how a person connects with their environment and how they interact with their peers. Charles Wright Mills wrote this work to inform people about the relationship between society and individual people. This theory has to do with how different scenarios and outcomes come from a person s surroundings throughout life. A person s sociological imagination shapes who they are to become. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have always been fascinated with all the events that occur in the Summer Olympics from diving to soccer. The Olympics were a way for me to get out into the world. After watching the sports on t.v. I wanted to also play them. From the ages of five to ten years old, I participated in multiple activities including soccer, dance, tumbling, basketball, volleyball, softball, cheerleading, and track and field. At the age of ten, I decided that soccer was my favorite sport out of all the ones I had tried, so I tried out for a select soccer team and made it. I was determined to get somewhere with soccer and not just waste all the money and time that my parents were spending on me. Once high school came around I had no time for anything other than soccer, soccer, and more soccer. I played select soccer during the Fall and school soccer during the Spring. As I was approaching my Senior year of high school, I wasn t sure if anyone was going to want me to play for them in college. I knew I had to try my best for my parents so on June 18, 2015 I toured Southwestern Illinois College and was asked if I wanted to play soccer for them and go to school for free. • 14. Comparing the Personalities and Values of Steve Jobs and... How did Jobs early years, prior to Apple, influence his view about human nature, work, and assumptions about employees? Please provide specific examples that support your answer. Jobs early years, prior to Apple influenced his view of life. Concerning human nature, Jobs believed that human being were spiritual beings. It is ones responsibility to find the inner spirit, be enlightened to attain inner peace this enhanced personal growth. He believed that unless one did this, they would be controlled by their circumstances, the situation in which they found themselves. One is able to take control of their thought process and view of life. He realized that an intuitive understanding and consciousness was more significant than abstract thinking and intellectual logical analysis, (Issacson, 2011, p. 37). His trip to India magnified this perception as he realized that people in Indian countryside did not use their intellect as those in the America, instead they used their intuition. He considered intuition as more powerful than intellect. Steve Jobs early experiences at his father s garage informed his attitude towards work. To him the key reasons for work were to get money, adventure, it had to be interesting. He had an attitude that he could do anything, there was nothing like no in his work vocabulary. What caught his eye while searching for his first jobs was the Have fun, make money, advertisement on the San Jose Mercury (Issacson, 2011, p. 42). Issacson explains that
  • 15. Arab-Israeli Conflict Essay Arab Israeli Conflict During the First World War (1914 1918), Britain met with problems concerning promises made, yet not being kept. Britain, knowing that it needed all the help it could get against the German allies, promised land to people who desperately wanted it. However, as it was revealed Britain had no intention of honouring their word. The first promise to be made was to the Arabs, in a desperate attempt to overpower one of the countries the British were fighting; the Turks. The Arab leader, Sherif Hussein, agreed to help defeat the Turks, on the condition that at the end of the war, the Arabs would get their freedom. The British accepted the terms, and in 1915 it was written up in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was, like the McMahon letter to the Arabs, promising the Jews ownership of Palestine. This was, made at a time when Britain was having many problems fighting the allies, and needed all the help they could find. There are a few reasons why historians believe this letter was issued. It was thought that the Jews in America and Russia had a lot of money and power, and so would therefore encourage their governments to continue in the war. There was sympathy for the Zionists, as the leaders like Balfour knew that the Jews had endured a lot of hardship, and suffered many injustices, and so saw this promise as a chance to right some of the wrongs committed. Britain used the Suez Canal, in Egypt. However, it was right next door to Palestine, and so it would greatly benefit Britain if the people who governed the neighbouring Palestine, were friendly towards Britain and their interests. The new leader of the Zionists, Chaim Weizmann, was a friend of a few leading politicians such as Balfour and the present Prime minister, Lloyd George. It is quite probable that the British Government had no idea of the changes that this Declaration would cause on the short and long term effects on the problems between the Arabs and the Jews. The consequences of these unkept promises were quite terrible for Britain, making their situation in Europe much worse. The Arabs
  • 16. The Repositioning of the Common House Phone Demographics The repositioning of the common house phone is a challenge. One option for the phone is to sell more landlines phones to developing world nations, but even there the growth possibilities are slim. There are small markets like Belize, but in most countries landline infrastructure is becoming limited. There are options, however, for repositioning the home phone in the United States, with some modifications to the technology. Lardinois (2010) notes that Americans under the age of 35 are unlikely to have a landline, as they use wireless devices for their computing needs. However, even wireless devices rely on hardwire connections to the router. The common house phone can be repositioned as a multi purpose device, emphasizing a number of different unique functionality elements. The target market for the redesigned and repositioned common house phone is the same market that has eschewed the phone to this point, the urban under 35s. Other target markets already have house phones, so there is less sales potential. However, by making the common house phone attractive to the younger demographic, there is strong growth potential in the new product. The number of under 35s in the United States, according to data from the US Census Bureau is 145 million, and excluding minors the total target market is 62.65 million. I think this quote is talking about ambition and how it can get you killed if you do not follow the law. The law must be clear so that subordinates do not try to become the king. Becoming the king in the sense that they are not following the rituals assigned to them and they are following the rituals of the king. To finish off the quote and how it is relevant to this chapter Han Feizi say, The ruler of men too has as his bristling scales. The Influence Of Cultural Changes In Dracula After Bram Stoker published the iconic vampire classic, Dracula, in 1897, the world of literary vampires grew more popular and eventually, dramatically shifted towards cultural changes revolving around global historical events and new American values. As the Second Industrial Revolution approached in the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, vampirism became based on the accelerating influences of science and technology, as well as, religion and gender. (Dartmouth) Stoker is described to have transformed vampirefolklore into a literary icon by emphasizing the nature of the vampire [as a threat of the unknown] and placing it into a modern setting. (Shepard, 2010) As vampires gained momentum, they became more disturbing and dynamic: from mythical monsters straying far away from humanity to even ones centered in love triangles who sought for empathy. America s cultural identity ultimately reflected onto vampire literature, creating a chain reaction of distinct elements that included secularization, psychoanalysis, and social policy. The cultural influences on vampires first affected their origins and setting; vampires were no longer limited to European countries like the United Kingdom or Romania. In fact, according to Dartmouth, the United States gradually became the vampire capital of the world in the twentieth century. American urbanization dramatically altered lifestyles and towards the 1920s, a majority of the population lived in cities, according to the

My Africa! The play revolves around three characters named Mr. M, Thami and Isabel who live in South Africa. Through these characters, Athol Fugard tells a story where he tries to persuade the audience that gradualism is better than violenceas a means to _______. Although Athol Fugardsucceeds in proving that gradualism is a morally better way to deal with an oppressive system, he fails to prove that gradualism is a strategically better way to overcome an oppressive government. Throughout the play, Mr. M and Thami, his student, disagree on how to deal with the racism in their oppressive government. Mr. M, like Athol Fugard, believes in a more gradualist approach because he does not hate his way of life as a teacher, which is only made possible because of the government. Thami has very different views on the racism and the control the government has and he makes this clear multiple times. Thami says to Mr. M and Isabel, when they are all having a conversation at the school, The comrades are imposing a discipline which struggle needs at this point. There is no comparison between that and the total denial of our Freedom by the white government. (Fugard 57) Thami says this because he believes that the government is terrible so he is completely against the gradualist approach. After Mr. M s death Thami says to Isabel, in a conversation they have about how and why Mr. M was killed. Operation Qhumisa ... the boycotts and strikes, the arson ... you know he didn t agree with any of that. (Fugard 72) Mr. M died because he was against the comrades and he helped the police. When Thami is mad at Mr. M and is talking to Isabel he says He is out of touch with what is really happening to us blacks (Fugard 42) Mr. M is out of touch with what other black peoplein the country feel because he thinks that they should not be violent. Despite what Mr. M thinks, most of the black community believes that the only way to bring about change is to be violent, which is a better idea strategically. • 28. Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital... There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression, marital satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction. Depression is defined as a medical illness that causes feelings of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of worthlessness, and many other symptoms including thoughts of death and suicide. Many researchers measure depression using various methods such as affective self reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and some adults, but depression affects many others persons within our social networks. This can be explained by the socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that individuals influence one another in a way that one individual s psychological issues, such as depression or happiness, will spread to other social contacts, much like the spread of an infectious disease. Thus, depression can negatively affect marital satisfaction. Marital satisfaction refers to whether the partners are content with their marriage and is often measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. If depression negatively affects marital satisfaction, then it will be contributing to marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction indicates the negative evaluation of a person s marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. Research shows that there is correlation between marital dissatisfaction and

Data is availed through the device on demand. In cloud computing provision of resources is achieved through an Internet connection. Resources shared include servers, storage, services and applications. History of Cloud Computing The term cloud computing was first coined in 1996. However, the idea of sharing computing resources was conceived in the early 1970 s. Cloud refers to an agglomeration of objects, and it is used in cloud computing to refer to a set of things that are used together. In 1977, ARPANET used a cloudlike logo in referencing their network that had interconnected a variety of computer resources. A cluster of servers in the company s premises looked like a cloud. Their server was circular, and the agglomeration of the servers ended up looking like a crowd. In 1981 CSNET another predecessor also used a cloud symbol for their computing components. In the 1970 s various computing firms popularized a time sharing concept meant to save computing time. Large vendors such as IBM and DEC adopted a full time sharing option whereby servers would be dedicated to performing one service (Feng et al. 2012). IBM predominately run mainframes. In the 1990 s telecommunication companies started offering data primarily on point to point circuits known as Virtual private networks (VPN). VPN was cheaper and offered a better quality of service;

I decided to compare these countries for two reasons, the first being that as an Italian I can better point out the differences I have noticed living back and fourth in the US since a young age, and the second and main reason is because during our course we have been discussing on how bribing practices were banned and partially reintroduced in the U.S. due to unfair competition from foreign companies abroad. First lets focus on the culture of these two beautiful but very different countries. Italy for example has a collectivistic society, while the U.S. has a very individualistic one, and the population of the latter is very affective compared to the more neutral U.S.. The two cultures also express themselves differently since the U.S. population tends to be very specific, while the Italians are more diffuse when talking about something important. Due to the fact that the Italians are more affective, they tend to demonstrate further their feelings by protecting and helping their sons as much as possible, and the whole culture could be perceived as an ascribed one, especially by achieved ones. Just by thinking that some of the best poets, writers, thinkers, musicians, astronomers, scientists, inventors, and explorers were and are still are Italian can clear this misconception. Describe and evaluate psychological definitions of abnormal behavior According to the science of psychology one s behavior needs to follow a certain criteria in order to be deemed normal . If one s behavior does not match the criteria, their behavior is seen as undesirable and wrong (requires change). For this physiologists need to be able to view a person s behavior and be able to tell the difference between normal and abnormal. The limitations of observing behavior in this manor lay in the fact that different cultures have different norms. Not to mention the fact that in any given culture norms evolve. What may have once been acceptable in the 80 s is not necessarily acceptable today. Abnormality of one s behavior can also be monitored by looking at its statistical frequency. Meaning how common ones behavior is when compared to the rest of the public. If one s behavior is shared by many it is deemed common and therefore normal , however if ones behavior is uncommon or rare, it is deemed abnormal. For example one may say that an individual who has an IQ below or above the average level of IQ in society is abnormal. The problem with this system is the fact that, it does not account for the desirability of the given behavior. In other words this system claims that both low and high IQ s are an abnormality that need to be treated. So, there are ways to know what activities are scheduled and when. Visitation During this time, you have made a good effort to work at visitation for those in the congregation. We do appreciate your service in this area. Preaching This is one area where Dwight thought he could help take pressure off of you by preaching every other week and teaching Sunday evening and Wednesday. There will be times when you can assist (e.g. Every other Sunday morning, some Sunday /Wednesday nights, and Thursday men s study). Some members have observed that they do not like or understand the use of King James Bible. Other options such as NASB, New King James, NIV (1984 edition) would be more useful with this congregation. As noted to you, this is a very Bible intelligent church and like in depth sermon material. While we follow Biblical doctrine and direction, SACC is not a conservative church to the point where we use King James. Concerns have been expressed that many sermons have tended to be evangelistic in nature. Members have noted that the majority of the congregation is already
  • 39. Pancakes Vs Waffles Research Paper In a battle of epic proportions, who will win? Waffles or Pancakes? While both are widely eaten and made, pancakes, with their easy assembly, creativity, and versatility, are the superior breakfast food. Both pancakes and waffles are popular breakfast foods that everyone has eaten. I too have had, and made, many pancakes and waffles in my lifetime. Pancakes are far easier to assemble. They only require premade pancakemix, a stove, and a pan. Everyone has these things! A waffleiron, however, is much harder to come by. Waffle irons also constrict creativity. All of your waffles are going to be in whatever standard square or circular shape your waffle iron is. Pancakes can be made into any shape! People even endeavor into pancake art, making

This event took place in Santa Ana College at the Phillips Hall. All the dances had a different style and also their costumes.. Every dance turned out amazing and the dancers just danced marvellous. I was really impressed with all the dances, but two really stood out to me. There was some that I really did not understand or just lacked something. Even though all the dances were amazing, there was one that inspired me and one really did not inspire me. The dancethat really inspired me was Diazepam, choreographed by Catalina Leon. I really liked how she did a dance about her anxiety because many people get
  • 41. Bob Marley Essay Bob Marley Of the many genres of music, reggae is one that displays a positive message to its listeners. A prominent artist who clearly expressed this was Robert Nesta Marley, more commonly known as Bob Marley. Marley connected with his audience on a variety of levels. While he worked to unite the people of his country, Jamaica, he proclaimed his message across the world. Bob Marley persuades his audience to accept the message of ethnic unity through his message presentation, social interactions, lifestyle and musical lyrics. In Jamaica, Marley could voice the feelings and opinions of his fellow citizens, who were delusional with the failures of independence and the breakdown of local politics. The role of music in Jamaica contributed to Marley?s music. It helped play an important role in giving voice and communicating with an increasingly important political class in the evolving country. Undoubtedly, he was favored by both sides of the politic battle in Jamaica and with many other nations around the world. Marley avoided direct involvement in politics, because the Rastafarian people believe that activities like that were essentially invalid manifestations of the work of higher government authorities against which they believed. One of the original reasons behind Bob Marley?s emergence as a leader within post independent Jamaica was simple: the complete failure of the country?s political leaders to represent the needs of the black lower classes in the years before and after their independence. By staying away from the malevolent competitive battles of the actual and possible political leaders, he could attract a group of followers that others could not amass. ?As former Jamaican prime minister Michael Manley has noted, ?Marley took what was a subculture in Jamaica and elevated it to a dominant culture?[He] took a folk art and he elevated it into a universal language of communication.? Perhaps the expansion of black culture was even more important than political

The story Shift by Hugh Howey is a story with a gigantic amount of twists throughout the story which get you with surprise and frustration. Donald is a democrat who is recently elected and hopes to bring change to washington. A setting that I thought was important was Donalds childhood drawing. It represented a memory that was long forgotten and yet very important to Donald as it helped him remember his past in preparation for his future. Although, this picture was also very dangerous. It was a picture which was to be, the end of the world. I felt that this picture made Donald even more serious about his job and his life, and it helps him to realise that even the smallest

This could be true but another possibility is that the opposite could happen. In this book H.G. Wells explores that possibility. In the book The Time Machine t he Time Traveler, who is the protagonist, travels to year eight hundred and two thousand and finds out that man has not advanced in the future. He discovers this when he encounters two different types of species, the Eloi and the Morlocks. He comes up with different ideas about them based on his encounters with them. Wells book The Time Machine was heavily influenced by Charles Darwins book On the Origin of the Species . The Time Machine expressed Darwin s theory that humans will continually evolve. This is apparent when the Time Traveler first met the Eloi and saw how they have not advanced but still changed. Another of Darwin s theories expressed in the book was natural selection where the Morlocks used their abilities to catch and kill the Eloi in order to survive. The final theory expressed in the book reflects the idea that in nature organisms are limited in their ability to survive based on how their climate changes. Wells showed this when the Morlocks got so used to living underground that their eyes changed and they couldn t really see above ground. In this book H.G. Wells illustrates the possible outcomes of Darwin s theories of evolution and used Darwinism to introduce the possibility that evolution may not always lead to
  • 44. Analyble Themes In The Calculus Diaries By Jennifer Ouellette The author of The Calculus Diaries, Jennifer Ouellette, conveys a story to the reader that calculus isn t as evil as everyone makes it seem, and to show its uses in everyday life. This happens expertly by using relatable topics such as gambling in Vegas, how to lose weight, and how to survive the zombie apocalypse. Ouellette makes it a key point that anyone can understand and apply calculus, even those who dread even hearing the term. In addition, since every chapter has a new topic the characters around her vary, but she remains the narrator of the story. One explanation about why she does this is because she describes calculus as being on par with a story where the main character and viewpoint can change the entire meaning of the story.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One weakness this book has though is the fact that it sometimes strayed too far from the main purpose of the book that the reader could become bored before the author reaches her main point. For example, on many occasions throughout the book Ouellette dives too deep into the history of the people who came up with theories, hypotheses, or equations and this distracts from the main purpose of the book, which is to make calculus more engaging for the readers. Finally, this book was enjoyable because it allowed for a better understanding of a complicated topic by using a variety of interesting examples where calculus is important. Also, since the longer chapters where broken up into smaller sections it was easier to read it faster and making the book more pleasurable. I would recommend this book highly to other students who want to go into a career that will deal with a bunch of calculus because it intelligently shows you the basic concepts, but in an easy to understand way. This book challenges the reader to take a step back and look at the more interesting side of calculus to gain a more solid understanding. For the mechanical engineering major, one must complete Calculus I, II, and III, so having a strong foundation of knowledge makes these easier in the long run. Also, the test this book puts on its readers is to make calculus more fun, which makes me more inclined to join clubs and organizations on campus that use calculus because that is the easiest way to
  • 45. The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer Essay The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer Are there many ways that themes and symbols can be shown in stories? Geoffrey Chaucer uses many different themes, symbols and styles in writing all of tales in The Canterbury Tales. By using these things, Geoffrey utilizes several specific symbols to illustrate various central themes. The characters in the tales make the same mistakes that ordinary people would make, and they receive the same or even worse consequences. One message that is portrayed is greed can make people to evil actions. Then all this money will be ours to spend, Divided equally of course, dear friend. (Page 163 line 166 174) By them both agreeing to this, they believe that they will have more money to split between the two of them by killing the other one. This is proof that they are greedy because all three of them found the money and each one deserves their share of the money. Plus they are all friends with eachother and should be splitting the money, not trying to stab each other in the back in order for them to get more money. The next example showing how greed can deceive friends is portrayed when the friend goes into town. As the other two were plotting a plan, so was the friend that went to town. However, none of them thought that the other friend would also be plotting kill them. He slyly says to himself, And so the Fiend, our common enemy, Was given power to put it in his thought That there was always poison to be bought, And that with poison he could kill his friends. The island of Taiwan has a history dating back to over fifteen million years ago, and the earliest people who lived on Taiwan were there 37 thousand years ago. The Austronesians, the indigenous people of Taiwan, were the earliest inhabitants. Because their languages, society, and cultures were so varied, people speculate that the indigenous people of Taiwan arrived at different times and from different parts of Asia. Taiwan has a long history of being fought over by China and Japan. China s Ching Empire first colonized Taiwan and the people who populated the colonies are Han Chinese who came from China. Han Chinese make up the overwhelming majority of the current population in Taiwan. Taiwan was also a colony of Japan after Japan, undertaking massive military expansion in the footsteps of European empires, defeated the Ching Empire with their modern weapons (Wang, Hsiu Huei 15). Failure of atrial stimulation to increase the amount of preexcitation can occur because of markedly enhanced AVN conduction, the presence of another AV BT, or pacing induced block in the AV BT due to the long ERP of the BT (Kuo et al, 1996). • 53. Birth Order And Personality Development For many years, birth order was noted as a distinguishable characteristic in determining the personality of child. In the early 1900s, when Alfred Adler first established the concept of birth order, he became the first theorist to give a new dimension to personality development. Not only did he look at the influence parents had on personality development but the influence of siblings and the biological position each of them grew up within their family (Boeree, 2006). Adler identified five fundamental positions in which a child would be categorized into based on their birth order. These are; the first born child, the second born child, the middle child, the youngest child and the only child. Murphy (2012), acknowledges that there are two types of birth order, actual and psychological. In 476 C.E. when Rome fell to the barbaric tribes, the Roman Empirewas done for, and had no chance of coming back to greatness; so why is it still looked upon as an amazing feat of ruling? A legacy is a reminder of something, like an empire, that was once great and inspired many things today, the way Roman architecture and engineering has. If we didn t have any of these great Roman architectural feats, then many people today wouldn t have a roof over their heads, and it would take much longer to get from place to place. The Roman legacies were the Roman architecture and engineering that has inspired and impacted millions of structures and helpful inventions. I think that it is safe to say that Roman architecture and engineering has had the greatest impact on today s society. The three most important Roman architectural feats are arches and aqueducts, the Coliseum, and Roman roads. These three inspirational Roman structures and feats of engineering has inspired thousands of modern day buildings that we visit and use every day. Arches are an important legacy of the Roman Empire.
