A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Education is the most important aspect of the living. It is important for educators and institutions to

Things To Know About Having The LASIK Procedure Later In Life
Now that you re older, you probably have more time and money to do things for yourself. If you
re tired of wearing glasses or contacts and have always wanted to have LASIK surgery, now might
be the time to do it. However, as you age, your eyes undergo many changes. Therefore, LASIK
might not be a good option any longer, or if it is, your doctor may need to take other factors into
consideration. Here are some things to consider.
Cataract Treatment
It s common for people to develop cataracts as they age. Cataracts can cause blurry vision, and
LASIK surgery cannot correct this. Your eyedoctor checks for the development of cataracts during
your yearly eye exams. If they grow large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you still have vision problems after surgery, your doctor may follow up with a LASIK procedure
after your eyes have healed.
Presbyopia
Presbyopia is another common eye problem associated with aging eyes. With this condition, it
gets harder and harder for you to see things up close. Reading glasses help because they magnify
near vision. However, you don t wear them all the time because you can t see things far away
with them on. That s why bifocals are usually the treatment of choice for presbyopia if you have
to wear glasses all the time. That way you can see far away and up close too.
Another option to bifocals is monovision. You can wear monovision contacts so one eye sees far
away and the other sees up close. This same theory can be applied to the LASIK procedure. When
you have presbyopia, the eye surgeon will probably adjust the vision in one eye so you can read up
close and adjust the other eye for clear far vision. Your brain adjusts so you can see clearly both
ways. It s a good idea to try monovision contacts before you have the LASIK procedure to make
sure you can tolerate it before having an irreversible surgery done on your

7. The New Terrain And Distance Viewing
Now, I will give some commentary from my experiences playing alpha 15. As I had mentioned,
in my previous article, I rather like the new terrain and distance viewing. I am indeed excited
about the new possibilities it offers for building things (as I rather like to construct buildings and
make my own small towns). I have begun to explore the buildings possibilities, which I will get
into later.
The dynamic of progression for production has changed. The change in the steel perk, the
increased number of things which need the work bench to craft them, the new components, and
the new things to craft have changed things. It used to be that I could get the steel perk so easily
that I could basically skip iron crafting versions of things, and go straight to steel axes, and steel
picks. I cannot do that anymore. Now the requirements for getting steel make it so that I have to
use iron tools for a significant period of time before I can get the ability to craft their steel
versions. This, in addition to the items requiring mechanical and electrical parts give the game a
more staged progression. Now there are more rather distinct stages before getting to the best stuff.
This adds a new dimension of fun and challenge to it.
Though I would give some tips for trying to get to the steel production level. Invest early on in
resource collection and building stuff. The steel perks need a certain level in construction and tool
skills in order for you to purchase them. Also, building stuff

8. Comparing The Different Classes Of Glutamate Receptors Essay
Compare and contrast the different classes of glutamate receptors.
Glutamate as a neurotransmitter
In the brain, neurons communicate between each other and with target cells via a great numbers of
chemicals they release, so called neurotransmitters. A signal in the brain is sent from a presynaptic
neuron to a postsynaptic cell through synaptic transmission, allowing the brain to process
information in a rapid way. (SГјdhof, Starke and Boehm, 2008)
One of the most important transmitters within the vertebrate nervous system for normal brain
function is known to be glutamic acid also known as glutamate. In the mammalian central nervous
system (brain and spinal cord) is acknowledged that almost all excitatory neurons are glutamatergic
and approximately more than 40% of the synapses in the brain release the amino acid glutamate.
(Purves et al., 2001)
The interaction of this major neurotransmitter with different cells in the brain is dependent on
whether the cells express receptors for glutamate on their surfaces, to which they can bind and
activate. (Hu, Ondrejcak and Rowan, 2012)
Glutamate interaction with glutamate receptors plays a role in the efficacy of synaptic plasticity,
which is fundamental for many neurological functions such as memory, learning, behaviour and in
addition during development in the formation of neural connections within the central nervous
system (CNS), thus allowing neurons to communicate with each other (Sundaram, Gowtham and

others. Ideas, conversations, disagreements, and commitments can all be exchanged through

to actively listen to know how to respond. A response may include sending up an item that was

response to listening does not always have to verbal. A non verbal response like smiling or

listening will help to ensure that the response is effective.

Charity Among the key concepts of love touched upon by C.S. Lewis in his novel The Four
Loves, is his concept of charity. Charity is a type of love that involves showing care for someone
that is not easily loved, while doing it in a selfless manner with no gain for the caregiver. From
the story of creation in Genesis we are told that mankind is made in God s image. Through the
act of God sacrificing His son Jesus for our iniquity, we see that he is charitable. Therefore,
transitively, mankind is created naturally for charity. This is important to note because it shows
that regardless of belief in God, anyone can be charitable. Our understanding of charity can be

When America s era of Camelot suddenly came to a stop, the nation froze and the world

Arthur, Camelot his presidential palace, and his actions that spoke louder than words. Kennedy

He found out the CIA was trying to kill (Cuban leader Fidel) Castro, which is a fact. So the

of his time in the Soviet Union asking to become a citizen. As Harvey stated he was a patsy, it is

Stroke
A stroke, sometimes called a brain attack, is an injury to the brain due to blockage or rupture of
blood vessels. (Patient Family Education Handbook UCLA Stroke Center Page 8) Stroke most often
occurs when blood flow to the brain has stopped due to a clot, but it can also be caused by
bleeding in the brain. The brain cells in the area begin to die due to lack of oxygen and the
nutrients they need to work correctly. Hippocrates the father of medicine was the first to

19. Compare And Contrast Jefferson And Hamilton s View Of...
The original political parties, Federalist and Democratic Republicans, in America differed in their
view of strong federal government vs strong state government. One leader that helped run the
Federalist was Alexander Hamilton and Hamilton believed in a strong federal government.
Hamilton s plan was to pay off all state debt, pay off all the bonds, and to form a national bank,
and taxes. Which leads to why Hamilton believed we should have a strong federal government. The
federal government would help keep order among the people and unite struggling states. Hamilton s
view of the federal government is it had implied powers are powers that are suggested but not
directly given to the government. Hamilton s used the idea of implied powers to help justify a
national bank. Hamilton argued that the Constitution gave Congress the power to issue money and
regulate trade, and a national bank would clearly help the government carry out these
responsibilities. Thus, Hamilton believed that creating a national bank is within the constitutional
powers of congress. Hamilton wanted a national bank not only because we were in debt from the
war against Great Britain, but also stimulate the economy, by having a more stable paper currency.

Masculinity is described as possession of attributes considered typical of a man. Hegemonic
masculinity is a form of masculine character with cultural idealism and emphasis that connects
masculinity to competitiveness, toughness, and women subordination. Masculinity hegemonic is
the enforcement of male dominion over a society. Masculine ideology dates back to the time of
agrarian and the industrial revolution in Europe when survival compelled men to leave their
homesteads to work in industries to earn a living for their families while women remained at
home to take care of family affairs (Good and Sherrod 210). Women did not work in industries

However, towards the fall of the 20th century, this social consult came under immense challenge
when women began to venture in politics and competing men in sports such as football and
athletics. Today, the American sporting scene is full of sports women partaking games that were
initially reserved for men such as football and athletics. Many women in American political
leadership today have proved that they can go beyond the limits of men such as Hillary Clinton or
challenge President Barrack Obama on the democratic nomination in 2008 in a tight contest, which
saw her emerge the second democratic favorite. The second element of hegemonic masculinity was
the definition of masculinity through occupational success in a capitalistic society. This led to the
rise of gender stereotypes and the two cults of true womanhood and two spheres. According to the
earlier cult, a woman was judged on four cardinal principals of purity, piety, domesticity, and
submissiveness. The architects of this cult held that the power of a true woman that promised
success and happiness was vested in the four virtues. The virtues of piety and purity expected
women to observe religious counsel and maintain their virginity before marriage as a symbol of

23. The Little Mermaid By Brenda Chapman And Mark Andrews From...
In the movie Brave directed by Brenda Chapman and Mark Andrews from Pixar shared a similar
storyline as The Little Mermaid which was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker from
Disney, is that they both brought up the cultural and societal expectations on gender roles.
Similarly, in between the two movies Brave and The Little Mermaid, the director focussed on the
feminine aspects of how society perceives a women and expects females to fulfill their roles.
Furthermore, the overall message of both movies is that parents and children need to listen and try
to understand each other before the situation gets out of hand. Although, Princess Merida and
Princess Ariel grew up with a certain gender roleexpectations, however, they have prove society s
perception of how feminine should be perceived is wrong by showing how Ariel change for men or
how Merida declare war for independence.

she will be rewarded is by receiving an increase or by receiving a good grade or still the gratitude of

attitude to avoid a punishment. Especially as the punishment being bound to the reward a person

Thus, young designers will seek to profit from the support of investors to finance their growth.
Branded watches have continuously been well liked throughout the years and will still continue to
be trendy in the years to come for the reason that after consumers buy into a brand, they reap
countless benefits. With their knowledgeable purchasing routine, consumers continue to purchase
in style brand watches for five important reasons.
1. The primary goal consumers get branded watches is that they are very dependable. This is of
unique significance because they will know from their previous experience whether a brand is of
quality or not. After the watch confirms reliability, the brand will be bought often times by loyal
customers. As a result, the top quality brand watches will continually perform well.
2. The next cause boils down to a large extent of how the consumers regard the brand. There are
many assorted brands available in the marketplace these days but consumers continue to obtain only
a handful of the brands they trust and are familiar with. The reason for this is that when consumers
decide to buy a new watch, they normally purchase a brand which they highly regard.

consumers obtain branded watches. It is a considerable aspect to be aware of

marketing efforts having potential to cause switching behavior (Oliver, 1997).From the behavioral
perspective Odin, Odin and Valette Florence (2001) suggested that the customer who buys the brand

but they all agree on the importance of focusing on loyal customers and trying to increase their

Parkinson s disease, is a loss of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons that is progressive and chronic
throughout the body1. Parkinson s disease is also a neurodegenerative development disorder.
Scientists and researchers have yet to discover new medications to interrupt the diminishing
neurons of dopaminergic. Furthermore, there are medications that are only beneficial for the
alleviation of symptomatic complications in the body. There are currently no known
neuroprotective therapies or programs available, due to the insufficient knowledge on the process
of the death of dopaminergic neurons. The most common factors associated with Parkinson s
disease is genetics and environmental influences. The environmental factors include the following:

Dopamine agonists (such as Mirapex, Requip,Neupro, and Apokyn) are also prescribed 12. They
do not change into dopamine like levodopa 12. Dopamine agonists mimic dopamine effects in
the brain 12. MAO B inhibitors (such as Eldepryl, Zelapar, and Azilect) are prescribed as well

monoamine oxidase B which metabolizes brain dopamine 12. Catechol O methyltransferase

an enzyme that breaks down dopamine 12. Anticholinergics are medications used to help control

36. The Importance Of Football Uniforms
Football Uniform What if football players did not wear uniforms? Football teams would look
discombobulated, and Football players would not be able to specify who is on which team
during a game. A football uniform has so many different components. Football uniforms have
three main sections: a lower body section, a torso, and a helmet section. Each section includes
different equipment and items that make up each part. Some of pieces of the uniform are
strictly for enhancing performance, while others are for improving style, but every part is
important to a football uniform. First, football players wear important uniform pieces on their
lower body. The lower body part of a football uniform contains tights, a girdle, football pants, a
towel, and cleats. The first piece of the lower body section of a uniform are tights. Tights are
tight fitting pants that fit to a player s legs, hence the name tights. Tights are skin tight and keep
the leg muscles stable and cool. Tights also posses a component of style. Tights come in all
different colors and can bring a uniform together. For example, players on the Minnesota
Vikings all wear purple tights that look awesome. The next part of the lower body is a girdle. A
girdle is used strictly for keeping players safe by protecting the hips and thighs. In a way, a
girdle is practically underwear with pads. The next important piece of the lower body are
football pants. Football pants go just below the knees and are tighter fitting around the legs.
Football pants are built to endure hits and rough games, and they have knee pads to add
protection. A belt loops around the pants to keep the pants from falling down. Football pants
vary in color depending on the team color and style choice. Football pants also bring a football
uniform together by giving the uniform a solid pop in color. Following the football pants, the
next part of the lower body is the towel. The towel is a small, rectangular, white towel that
velcros around the belt. Towels are both useful and good looking. Players use towels to keep
their hands dry so that they can throw and catch the football to the best of their ability. Towels
also give a football uniform a flash of style. The final piece of the lower body

38. The Song Human From Her Head Or Heart Album
Is being human perfect without flaws or can we be a little imperfect? Are we humans not permitted
to show weakness? Do we need to act more like machines with no flaws in them? Christina Perri s
song Human from her Head or Heart album, is about being able to admit your defaults and
accepting them without changing yourself. The song Humanby Christina Perri uses repetition,
symbolism and metaphor to reveal that we re human that have faults, we cannot be perfect
without having faults and we shouldn t change for anyone. The message of the song is we re
human that have faults, we cannot be perfect without faults and shouldn t try changing for
others. The song s constant use of I can... is saying that we can do anything, but then we hear; I
m only human , which contradicts each other. Because the lyrics saying you can do anything but
at the same time its saying we have limits. I can do it/But I m only human (11, 14). Christina
repeats these two phrases through out her song to make us understand that it s okay to not be
perfect. We see that the singer makes herself believe that she cannot be flawed, because then she
won t find happiness. Then she goes and tells us that she s only human, which we realize that us
human are not perfect. Yet she says its fine being defected. The singer makes us relate to what she
is singing about by repeating; And I bleed when I fall down/I m only human/And I crash and I
break down/Your words in my head, knives in my heart/You build me up

41. Like Water For Chocolate And John Steinbeck s The Grapes...
In Laura Esquivel s Like Water for Chocolate and John Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath, the
female characters are presented in nontraditional ways for the times in which the novels are set.
Each novel shows a clear distinction between the male and female characters, and it would make
sense to feel a feminist vibe from the authors at certain points in the novels. In these novels, the
female characters use the traditional distinction between genderroles to change the dynamics of their
families and function within the novel.
Before discussing the change from identifying the characters traits as female to relating their
actions more to a male identity, and vice versa, the relationships between the male and female
characters must be explored ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, the beginning of Like Water for Chocolate barely mentions men in leadership roles.
Tita s father, who remains unnamed throughout the novel, is dead. Because he is an unnamed
dead man he foreshadows the insignificance of the men in this novel. He is honestly better off
dead than being emasculated by Mama Elena, or even Tita later in the novel. The only other men
mentioned in the first chapter are Pedro and his father. Their encounter with Mama Elena was
demeaning in itself. They were denied Tita s hand in marriage and manipulated by Mama Elena
into marrying Pedro and Rosaura. Power in this novel is clearly, from the very beginning, in the
hands of Mama Elena, a woman. Will that power remain with her up until her death or does Tita,
by staying in her place cooking and nurturing, hold the power all along?
The structure of Like Water for Chocolate is permeated in feministic tendencies. The subtitle reads,
A Novel in Monthly Installments with Recipes, Romances, and Home Remedies. Does that not
ring with the familiarity of women s magazines from the 1800 s and early 1900 s like Godey s
Lady s Book and McCall s Magazine? Women would use these magazines to keep up with current
fashion trends and to connect and share ideas with women they otherwise would not know.

47. Descriptive Essay On A Tornado
The Tornado
I was playing outside on a hot, late afternoon in August. My mother and grandmother were in the
house. My dad was at work. I was five.
In the time it took to bend down, pick up the ball, and stand, the day changed. No birds sang, no
insects buzzed, nothing. There s no wind, I said aloud. It seemed as if the earth had sucked in all
the air around me. The hair on my arms stood up. The poplar leaves hung still.
I looked around me slowly, as if in a dream. Across Palmer s fields, where the sun went down, the
sky had darkened. I started walking there, towards the west. The tall grass in front of me was still.
I could hear myself breathing. The farmland shimmered in slow motion stillness. The sky changed
colour. Now, it was green.
The screen door slammed. It made a loud crack in the silence. Whirling around, I saw my mother
coming onto the front porch. She yelled something. Her hair was blowing. Her apron was
blowing against her. Wind! I looked back to the west, and there was the storm clawing its way
into the sky above me. I stood staring, held by its power. The wind felt wild. It rolled around me. I
loved it.
From almost another world, I heard my mother yell, Tara May Stewart, you get in this house right
now!
I didn t want to go. I wanted to stay, rooted to this fierce place. The dog came bounding, Get
moving, he said, tongue lolling, eyes wide, his body banging against my legs.
My grandmother now stood next to my mother, thin arms waving. Her tiny frame was lashed by
her apron strings, her bony knees swaying. The wind pushed me towards them until I had to run or
be thrown to the ground. The rain came slashing at my legs, and by the time my feet hit the porch
steps, I could hardly keep myself upright.
My mother grasped my arms in fear and anger, pulling me into the house. Once inside, she pushed
her whole body against the heavy front door until it finally shut. I heard the lock snap into place
against the rain and wind.
Get downstairs, she shouted. The door to the root cellar was already open. It leaned against the
side of the cellar closet. Grandma climbed down the wooden stairs first, then me. My sister was
already down there. My mother came down last, pulling the hinged door over us.

Swifts Powerful Message in A Modest Proposal
In the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ states that there will always be poor, pathetic, struggling masses and
nothing we can do will ever completely eliminate this element. Swift also acknowledges the
homeless people, but in a different vein than Christ. In A Modest Proposal, the narrator expresses
pity for the poor, but at the same time he strives to maintain his social dominance over them.
According to Swift, the English Irish common people of the time exist in a disgusting state, a fact
that he attempts to make the English Parliament aware of. The poor that Swift refers to are
Catholics, peasants, and every homeless man, woman, and child in the entire kingdom. Swift is ...

The last statement regarding the Pretender in Spain is a stab at Catholicism, the Pretender, being
the Catholic James II, claimant to the English crown. In fact, Catholics are the butt of many
sardonic jokes in the essay. Swift viewed Catholics as the main cause of this deplorable state, being
the principal breeders of the nation as well as our most dangerous enemies (2184). This refers to the
Catholic doctrine prohibiting birth control.
Swift estimates that there are 120,000 children of poor parents born annually. These children are a
burden on society because . . .we can neither employ them in handicraft or agriculture (2183), they
have no practical skills or uses. To deal with this problem, Swift makes his modest proposal, using
a device that is timeless in its effectiveness shock value:
[A] healthy child well nursed is at a year old a most delicious
nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted,
baked or boiled; and I make no doubt that it will equally serve
in a fricassee or a ragout. (2182)
