Ulysses Alternate Ending
It is the year 2027, President Kanye West has been assassinated by the box aliens. His Vice President
Drake has taken over as president of the United Countries of Earth. The UCE Department of Military
Superiority has asked Ulysses Peter Smith a chemistry teacher from Kansas to come up with way to
defeat the boxes. Ulysses walks into the lab and sees a box strapped to a table. Okay i guess this is
what i m dealing with thought Ulysses. Ulysses s friend Frederick walks into the lab. He was also
communicated to help Ulysses out with the research. Hey Ulysses, how is it going exclaimed Fred. I

Cholera Outbreak In Henry Whitehead s The Ghost Map
In the book The Ghost Map, cholera was going into a massive outbreak in London during 1854. The
story begins as one of the characters, baby Lewis, Contracts cholera, and when the mother washes
diapers and cleans for the baby, she throws the water into the street. This leads to the outbreak. While
the Board of Health believed the smell of the city was the cause of the outbreak, there was another
citizen who believed otherwise. Henry Whitehead was a doctor who began to specialize in
anesthesiology. Meanwhile, John Snow was researching his own theories, and he worked his way
through the city to locate where high volumes of people were dying. While he was doing his research
he began making a map, and he graphed where people were dying. Each house ... Show more content

From the book, it can be learned to keep cities clean and find ways to dispose of all human waste. It
can also be learned that from this book people can begin to understand confirmation bias. When doing
research people often only find information to back their hypothesis, and what needs to happen is the
researcher must look at the data from every angle so they can find the truth. The map itself also led to
the creation of Geographic Information Systems. GISs are extremely helpful in today s society
because it can help show data in a new form that is easier to understand. It also makes it to where
different data can be layered. Also a lot can be learned about data collection from this book. John
Snow had a lot of data to collect, and he also had to find ways to graph it. He could have just as easily
wrote down all the addresses and how many people died there, but he chose to make the map, and it
made it possible to physically see where the concentration was. All of these things that was discussed
throughout the seminar, the book, and timelines taught me a lot. I leaned that zooming in and out of
data can change its perspective monumentally, and it makes it where you could prove a point even if
when you back up, the same point would not be made. I also learned that we use GIS every day, and
we do not even realize it. Finally, it taught me to never take advantage of

Light Truck Essay
Light Trucks Carry Load of Potential for Accessories
Short of projection but ahead of 2014 numbers, light vehicle sales continue to rise.
Carmakers Fiat Chrysler, Honda, Nissan and Toyota lead the way. According to a report from
AutoNews.com, sales climbed 3.9% in June 2014. This trend continues a banner year for light
vehicles. June numbers registered below May s, but above the same month in 2014.
It s the best first half for the segment in the past decade.
In a recession recovery climate, light vehicles show consistent growth. Sales have increased for six
straight years, prompting optimism for 2015 and beyond. The National Automobile Dealers
Association 2015 forecast increased from 16.94 million to 17.17 million.

Wheels, tires and suspension add ons leaped 11.7% from 2013 numbers. That represents the largest
increase of the three. Performance products saw 8% growth, and accessory and appearance products
grew by 5.2%. The report also revealed the continued health of light truck sales.
Only the street performance niche registered a larger percentage gain (14.3% to 9.2%).
Light trucks include CUVs, pickups, SUVs and vans. They took a hit in 2007 with the economic
downturn and spike in fuel prices. Accessory sales suffered too. Since its resurgence, light truck
accessory sales have shifted in scope, too.
Wheels, tires and suspension accounted for $866 million in sales in the SEMA report. Accessory and
appearance products once dominated, but were just $82 million more.
Three areas within wheels, tires and suspension were on the rise:
CUSTOM WHEELS | Lightweight construction and a creative array of finishes make these a favorite.
SPECIALTY/PERFORMANCE TIRES | Light truck owners can choose from aggressive tread off
road models to wide, low profile street

Nursing Burnout Sitting on my couch yesterday I was scrolling through my Facebook page, when I
came across one of my girlfriend s posts. It was an article written by an inner city emergency room
(ER) nurse. The name of the article was, Madness: tales of an emergency room nurse and how I
became a bitch. The article talked about the everyday work life of an emergency room nurse. I am an

Nurses play many roles in today s society; they have to balance family, life, and their job. Nursing is a
very demanding profession; you are caring for the sick with limited resources causing nurses to create
unrealistic expectations (Bush, 2009). Nurses create a tireless arrangement and emotional connections
with patients, shouldering a huge supporting role. Supporting this role causes nurses to feel emotional
exhaustion and the weight of care for patients can become overwhelming. Signs of emotional
exhaustion can cause nurse to become hostile, isolated, start crying for no reason, and getting upset
(Bush, 2009). Apathy means lack of concern or interest, as well as lack of emotion or feelings (Bush,
2009). Exhaustion of emotional reserves can cause nurses to become apathetic, uncaring, and
preoccupied. It takes a toll psychologically on the mind causing emotional overload before a nurse
becomes numb to emotions. Apathy eventually causes you to feel fatigued and a lack of concentration
and reduced productivity at work. Long term apathy can cause absenteeism and tardiness, complaints
by co workers and patients, and result in job termination (Bush, 2009). Depression happens when
someone has extreme feeling of hopelessness and sadness. Signs of depression include lack of one s

The Issue At Stake Is Not Population Numbers Depiction
The issue at stake is not population numbers depiction, but concerns for the quality of education for
Tanzanians children. Honestly, the growing number of children in Tanzania as (Woods, 2009) alerts, is
a clarion call for excessive investment in education, and in other public services. Comparable to other
poor countries as Jeffrey Sachs and Easterly (2006) argued, the poor people live entwined in
inadequacy, in which taking to account the global abuse of children, poor wellbeing, learning, and
poor arrangement reinforces one another (p. 10 ). It is incontestable that children are the treasured
resources of any future nation, and therefore, financing beyond their education quality would be the
ultimate investment for their development. This is to say, parents, teachers, and communities need to
ensure the safety of children and monitor what they learn in classrooms, while paying a distinctive
attention to the marginalized children the most likely to be victims of quality education access
limitation.

Before the arrival of colonial powers in Tanzania, education was informal. According to Omolewa
(2007) informal education is a holistic approach, primarily part of the cultural heritage transferred to
the youths through storytelling, riddles, myth, traditional songs, plays, folklore, and proverbs.
Informal education is certainly effective in bringing traditional African education alive to learners (p.

My Experience At The Coast Guard
One of my first experiences in the Coast Guard was a question that went out to the whole company,
Why do you want to be in the Coast Guard? Naturally my response was that I wanted to help people.
Little did I know at the time, that as I progressed through my career, so too would the focus of my
desire to help shift to the people placed under my charge. Starting out I didn t place much thought into
leadership. Luckily, I have had the privilege to serve with several people that have demonstrated
exceptional leadership throughout my career. Jeff Dorwart, John Lorentz, Marvin Wells, etc., the list
goes on. All of whom have imparted some of their leadership wisdom upon me, either through
demonstration or conversation. Leadership to me is the ability to influence others in the pursuit of a
shared vision or goal, regardless of whether it is yours or one you yourself have been influenced to
follow.
2. For some of my leadership mentors, they modeled the way by their actions and personal
interactions. Marvin Wells always maintained an outstanding uniform. He usually had a smile on his
face and presented himself as a very approachable individual. In fact, even when I was getting
corrected , it didn t feel like an ass chewing, rather a course correction that I ended up being harder on
myself than what he was. Jeff Dorwart and John Lorentz were both big picture thinkers. They would
shamelessly share the big picture, direction and desired end result with all. This created buy in and

Happiness By Robert Nozick
Noora Hosheshi
Introduction
In The Examined Life, philosopher Robert Nozick lists three conceptions of happiness, which he calls
the three forms of happiness (Nozick, p. 108). The third form of happiness is defined satisfaction with
life as a whole being able to look back on one s life and be satisfied with what one has
done/experienced (Nozick, p. 110). He argues it is easy to understand why people long for this type of
happiness, as it is pleasurable to experience in itself. This is, if evaluation of one s past experiences are
correct, and said experiences are valuable to the individual. By placing emphasis on the value of
meaningful experience in life, Nozick s argument implies one should avoid a vapid existence. At the
same time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
P3. If people consider something to be desirable (Y), it is then easy to comprehend why thing is
desired (C)
2. P4. The third form of happiness is desirable (Y).
3. CII. It s then easy to understand why people want/desire this third form of happiness (C, Modus
Ponens).
Correct evaluation of one s life is important to the third form of happiness being truly experienced. If
the emotion of happiness fits people s lives meaning, they have valuable experiences giving them
reason to be happy while reminiscing the positive evaluation they have made of their lives is correct
(Nozick, p. 112). The second portion of Nozick s argument states a life evaluated by this condition of
the third form of happiness is desirable (E):
P5. If the third form of happiness is found to be fitting (F), the component beliefs of the third form of
happiness must be true (B).
P6. If said component beliefs (B) of the third form of happiness are found true, the life evaluated by
the third form of happiness (H) has value (V).
P7. If the life evaluated by the third form of happiness (H) has value (V), life evaluated by the third
form of happiness is found desirable ( P4)
P8. The third form of happiness is fitting (F)
P9: The third form of happiness is both fitting (F) and desireable (P4)
CIII. The life evaluated third form of happiness is desireable (E)

In What Ways Did The Iroquois Use Their Natural Resources
The Iroquois lived in what is now known as New York State. They adapted to their environment in
many different ways. The Iroquois used the resources available to them in the Eastern Woodlands to
create homes and thrive for long periods of time.
The Iroquois used nature and their natural resources to provide shelter. The Iroquois made their homes
called longhouses from what was around them. In Document #1 it states that they made their homes
from sticks and bark, the plant fibers. No scrap of material was ever wasted, it was always used for
something else.
The Iroquois also used their surroundings to make to make and to provide food. In Document #2 it

bird shooting. Thirdly, in Document #5 it states that the Iroquois made snowshoes. The snowshoes
were made internally out of hickory. The snowshoes were a tool for getting around in the snow.
Fourthly, throughout Document #6 the document communicates that they used many tools for making
food. All of these tools were from using what is around them. For example, this tool, kernel scraper
was used to prepare the corn. This tool was made from a deer s jaw. Another example of a tool is a
mealing stone used for grinding corn. This tool was made from rock which was also a tool used to
prepare corn. Lastly, the canoes were a huge part and key tool of transportation. The canoes were
made from dugout trees and from bark which could have been extra from the longhouses. The canoes
not only made transportation easier but also they were used for fishing and finding food on the

The Causes Of Prejudice In C. P. Ellis By Terkel
A terrible experience during the eighth grade has caused me to become prejudiced against Koreans,
and believed that they were the most avaricious race of people. Since then this has prompted me to
develop a negative notion towards them. During my middle school years, my parents would give my
brother and I lunch money for school on a daily basis. Every day after class, we would have to walk to
our house which was quite distant from our school. One day, we decided to stop by a store on our way
home because we were dying of thirst. After we selected one drink that we agreed to share and went to
the counter, we realized that we were short five cents. The store owner told us that we could not

If a child is brought up in a family with parents who are openly racist, for example, he or she may
might find that they are influenced into being prejudiced against other races themselves. In the same
way, the story of Ellis relates to this theory described by Parrillo. Ellis father acted as a member of the
Ku Klux Klan. Growing up around his father and being exposed to his negative views and attitudes
towards the blacks eventually instilled in Ellis a natural propensity to be prejudice against them
(Terkel 222).Ellis explicitly states The natural person for me to hate would be black people, because
my father was a member of the Ku Klux Klan (Terkel 224). The socialization process plays an
important role on Guam. Growing up, my siblings and I were taught to show reverence to our elders
by Amening or simply kissing them on the cheek. After continually practicing this deed, I often find
myself automatically just amening any elderly whether they are Chamorro or not. In fact, when I see
younger children not practicing this value I tend to consider them being disrespectful, and

A Brief Note On Open A Daycare Center
When you start a business, you must decide whether it will be a sole proprietorship, partnership,
corporation, or limited liability company (LLC). In order to open a daycare center within your home,
you have multiple business entity types to choose from, ranging from a sole proprietorship to a limited
liability company to a full fledged professional corporation. A cursory glance over the list of day care
centers on the web reveals that most are LLCs, which offers multiple distinct advantages over other
business types for an in home center. Starting a home day care center as a sole proprietor means you

The Internal Revenue Service refers to an LLC with pass through income as a disregarded entity; in
other words, it is not recognized as an entity separate from its ownership. When it comes to simple
record keeping an LLC has fewer record keeping and reporting requirements than a corporation or
being a sole proprietorship. A sole proprietorship is the simplest and most common structure chosen to
start a business. It is an unincorporated business owned and run by one individual with no distinction
between the business and you, the owner. You are entitled to all profits and are responsible for all your
business s debts, losses and liabilities. You may, however, be able to purchase liability insurance for
your business that can help eliminate tortious liability. You do not have to take any formal action to
form a sole proprietorship. As long as you are the only owner, this status automatically comes from
your business activities. But like all businesses, you need to obtain the necessary licenses and permits.
Regulations vary by industry, state and locality. If you choose to operate under a name different than
your own, you will most likely have to file a fictitious name (also known as an assumed name, trade
name, or DBA name, short for doing business as ). You must choose an original name; it cannot
already be claimed by another business. The biggest downside to operating a business as a sole
proprietor is the liability you are subject to. If your business

6.1 1 A supply node is a node where the net amount of flow generated is a fixed positive number. A

There are only two arcs into LA, with a combined capacity of 150 (80 + 70). Because of this

configuration of the offshore pipeline network on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and the routing of
the natural gas through the network. The routing done by GassOpt is based on a model that is a
generalization of the model for the maximum flow problem. Like the maximum flow problem, the
objective is to maximize the flow of natural gas through the network. However, rather than a single
source and a single sink, this model has multiple sources (separate natural gas fields) and multiple
sinks (separate markets). In addition, the model has a number of extra constraints mentioned in the
application vignette.
The use of GassOpt has had many important benefits.

Barbie Role Model Essay
Barbie is more than just a doll for young girls, it became a role model for them. Barbie was a friend, a
fashion archetype, and a stylist who transformed young girl lives. Many young girls were impacted
with Barbie s in a materialistic way. For instance, Barbie s clothing style and accessories became an
obsession for young girls to be just like them. Young girls wouldn t even play with other toys and only
focused on their beautiful Barbie, who became their best friend. It was like these young girls were

controversy in our society. The reason being, the doll came with a scale that only went up to 110
pounds and a diet book. There was also a sign that said, How to lose weight? Don t eat (HuffPost
UK,2017). Mattel, the maker of Barbie, had numerous complaints from many parents. Due to that,
researchers ran an experiment to test whether the doll did influence young girls on their body image.
There was a survey that was conducted with women that played with Barbie s when they were
younger, 18 out of 25 stated that they would rather be hit by a truck than be fat. In another experiment
that was done by scientists, young girls would be exposed to three different dolls. On one hand, the
young girls that viewed the Barbie had a self image problem, and a desire to be thin compared to the
other girl that looked at the other two dolls. The conclusion of this experiment proved that young girl s
role model was Barbie, and being exposed to that doll impacted them in a negative manner. As a
result, these girls developed an eating disorder. The empirical reasoning or the bottom up thinking was
specific data was collected, and after further analysis supported the hypothesis. Barbie s do have a

What To Sacrifice Research Paper
To sacrifice is to give up something important for something even better, which may cause pain; but,
in the end, it will be totally worth it. I have witnessed my own friends performing such a damaging act
that hurt me as individual, mentally, and has made me begin to struggle in daily activities. I have
allowed myself to become stressed out, ignore the healthier relationships in my life, and have noticed
a great decrease in my self esteem. However, I have learned that these problems were or can be
created due to the reaction and response I express. This reaction has both hurt me and helped me build
as an individual. Some people respond by getting revenge on the other person, which ends up making
him or her just as disrespectful as the other; while I have realized it is better to forgive rather than hold
a grudge. I also have realized forgiving someone makes me appear more respectable, and it ultimately
places me in a higher place than the individual I am dealing with; forgiveness may be a painful thing

Southwest Airlines comparison with other US Airlines:
Southwest s greatest strength is its ranking number one in US domestic airlines, in terms of number of

other airlines. American Airlines, the world s largest airline, was on the brink of bankruptcy despite

Lot of airlines came and tried to copy southwest model but almost 97% of the startups failed.
Southwest s competitive advantage in providing low cost is of the primary reasons which their
competitors couldn t match. The airline has the lowest costs on a per mile basis among all the major
airlines as they used single aircraft type and the highly efficient, high frequency ad point to point route
scheme. Due to this commoditization of the industry, passenger profiles have changed with business
and first class seat demand in great decline. This correlates perfectly with Southwest s position of no
assigned seats or class designations. Competing companies have been forced to introduce low fare
options in attempts to regain lost market share from low priced air carriers. Because Southwest s
strategy has always been low cost, and standardized travel, they have not had to change strategy. This
has saved them what could amount to millions on restructuring costs. Also, some of the competitors

Friday Night Lights Sparknotes
Friday Night Lights: A Town, A Team, and A Dream is a 1990 non fiction novel wrote by H.G.
Bissinger. The story chronicles the pressures and expectations of the Permian Panthers football team
in socially divided Odessa, Texas. Throughout the story, challenges are presented with each of the
protagonists: James Boobie Miles, Mike Winchell, Don Billingsley, Gary Gaines, Brian Chavez, and
Ivory Christian. The book begins with the author talking about his motivation to write the book. Also
the author discusses the importance of Permian s game against Midland Lee High School (their arch
rivals). Tensions were rising greatly, and by the end of the game, star tailback Boobie Miles quits the
team and Permian lost 22 21, leaving them in a three way tie, with only two spots open in the 5A
playoffs.
The initial chapters discuss the town of Odessa and its history, unique facts, its people, etc. One of the
major topics discussed is the demographics of the town s two high schools: Odessa and Permian high
school. Also, other social issues such as crime rate, murder rate, and segregation (which is also
dedicated to chapter five). Multiple chapters in the book discussed in depth about characters Boobie
Miles, Mike Winchell, and Ivory Christian. Each of these players had varying backgrounds, and
motivations about why they played football. These chapters also discuss the lives of players off of the
field, and how the academics at Permian were backseat to their powerhouse football team.

The Problem Of Homeless Children
When considerable people think about what kind of individuals are homeless, they often conceive of a
shabbily dressed, elder male sitting in the front of a random doorway, with a wine bottle in a brown
paper bag. However, homelessness for the past years has begun to be more visible. Homeless children
are portrayed in welfare and academic literature as a category of children at risk. Whatever transpires
in early childhood can affect a child s lifestyle. In young children, the results are harsh. Stress can
result from major trauma, which can weaken the developing brain and lead to lifelong problems.
Homelessness is becoming exceeding worldwide affecting countries with no regard to economical
superiority. Children befall on the affected by: substance abuse at home, mental health, lack of literacy
skills and schooling. Homeless children are not only affecting themselves as individuals however, also
affecting society as a whole. Children are deprived of basic necessities of life, education, and health.
Children end up on the streets for numerous reasons, which are rooted within the family s instabilities
and poverty. Living life on the streets has proven to be treacherous for children that don t have place
they can home . Furthermore, homelessness inhibits physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and
behavior development of the children. Several ways to decrease the number of homeless children

A Tale Of Two Cities Essay
Capitol Punishment: Toy of Evil Men
One might believe that because capital punishment plays such a large role in Charles Dickens A Tale
Of Two Cities, that Dickens himself is a supporter of it. This just simply is not true. Dickens uses
capitol punishment as a tool to define the evil embodied in both the French ruling class, and the
opposing lower class during the French Revolution; as well as comment on the sheep like nature of
humankind.
In the beginning of the novel, capital punishment serves as the quot;cure all quot; for France s social
problems. After all, quot;death is nature s remedy for all things, and why not legislation s? quot; (62).
It is this attitude that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
quot; They are murdering the prisoners, quot; says Mr. Lorry to Darnay after arriving in France (260).
Again Dickens uses capitol punishment as a way to show the reader the atrocities that humanity can
create when consumed with hatred and evil. Dickens can be seen approaching the subject of the
guillotine with cynical sarcasm when he writes, quot;it was the popular theme for jests; it was the best
cure for headache, it infallibly prevented the hair from turning gray...who kissed La Guillotine looked
through the little window and sneezed into the sack quot; (271). Just as with the Aristocrats, Dickens
does not condone the Jacques use of capital punishment. His disdain is apparent in his tone; which
gnaws away at any inkling the reader may have that the treatment of the prisoners is fair.
Capital punishment is also used as a social commentary by showing how people cling to the popular
attitudes and beliefs of the day. People are quick to adopt the guillotine as their new savior. Dickens
articulates the common attitude towards this when he writes, quot;[the guillotine] was the sign of the
regeneration of the human race. It superseded the cross quot; (271). These quot;followers of the
guillotine quot; are ruthless in their quest for blood as they shout quot;Take off his head...an enemy to

Hooliganism In An Afternoon By Ian Rankin
In Great Britain, hooliganism has a big influence when there are football matches. People fight
together and are acting crazy. Sometimes there can be big fights between two or more football teams.
Would you dare to stop them? How is it to be the security guy and has to keep it all clean? In the short
story an afternoon written by the author Ian Rankin, we meet Rab, who works as a security sergeant to
provide safety between football matches. The text gives the reader an insight into his life, problems
and thoughts. And how he survives his days.
A 3rd person narrator tells the story, and it involves the reader into a lot of Rab s reflections and
thoughts. We only see it from Rab s point of view. When the football fans are described ... Show more

He is working as a sergeant to provide safety between football matches. He seems to be exhausted
from his job. It has an effect on his physique and the job is hard, which the text says: my feet look like

spells and his eyesight is weak. He wont go to a doctor characterizes him as a strong and eager man.
For instance, Rab has not been sick one day through his thirty years of working as a sergeant in the
football stadium. So it could be concluded that Rab loves his job, but he is starting to realize some
things about his situation. He is beginning to feel unlucky about his working. It is clearly to see in the
text, when he only focuses on how long it will be before the football game is over. [...] Just let me get

Rab is thinking about the clock a lot. It is mentioned again on page four in line 8 It is seven past three .

The Heart to Lion is different than the other pieces that have been mentioned. It has a free forming
flow, most of the statue is composed of a long wire and large pieces. The space is very open and free,
it is not enclosed or tight which is normally a positive space, with that being said from all the open
space that the Heart to Lion contains it is in a negative space.Similar to the other pieces this statue has
lines and shapes. The shapes are free forming shapes, they are not dominant shapes as a circle, square
or triangle would be. The shapes on the Heart to Lion are shaped with curved lines to also show that
the shapes are free forming. The lines are seen everywhere, there are curved and bold lines, the bold
lines are very obvious since it is of a darker granted shade than the rest. The line starts off being a
straight bold line, but then seems to end up being curved into the free forming shapes. The texture of
this is rough all around, the only smooth section that is noticeable on the statue could be the flat part
of the shapes or the bold line as well. However, from the overall, sight of the piece it seems to be
rough, but not too rough. The color of this statue is different than the others mention, the color of it is a
grayish tin color. The color is well known as a mixture of black and white usually there meanings
behind the those two colors which are death and peace. Since it is heart it shows the meaning of why
the artist chose that particular color. Cumul I is a piece made by Louise Bourgeois it has some
similarities and differences to the Heart to Lion. Cumul I is a piece that is quite different than the other
sculptures. It is strongly referred to human figures once viewing the sculpture. However, it does have

for his clients. Trend and Cycle, DS s technical research department, had recently circulated a copy of

back testing the strategy over a 15 year period. The Trend and Cycle group had long promoted the
importance of price momentum and relative strength to potential clients. Bain needs to determine

primary source of income was through commissions charged on products sold. For example, typical

Bain s clients portfolios included equities (both common and preferred) as well as fixed income
securities and small amounts of cash (typically parked on a short term basis before being allocated to
fixed income or equities). Typical portfolios were approximately 60% equities and 40% fixed income,
70% domestic and 30% international. Approximately one third of equity investments were through
mutual funds. Approximately 25% of client assets were included in tax sheltered Registered

Margaret Atwood s Surfacing Essay
Margaret Atwood s Surfacing
Throughout the book the narrator constantly intertwines the past and present as though it is side by
side. Atwood shows this in the opening sentence I can t believe I m on this road again . The use of the
adjective again reveals the narrator has been in this place in an earlier life. The narrator seems to
repress a lot of her past and continuously contradicts herself, which at times confuses the reader as we
can not tell whether she is talking about her past or her present and whether she regards it as home as
she says Now were on home ground foreign territory .
This links in with one of the key divisions in the story between the
Americans and the Canadians that is portrayed throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This links in with when the narrator says I never identified it as mine and all the time it was in me I
felt like an incubator , as a mother she should not be feeling this way suggesting she lacks the
emotional intelligence as a nurturer and a lover, which is ironic as later we find she never actually
gave birth to this child.
Another key point of the narrators division from her emotion is when she refers to her child as it . This
impersonal singular pronoun reiterates the protagonist s lack of sentiment. This also links in with
chapter 3 as the narrator reveals her relationship with Joe as predominantly sexual cool he called it,
was the way I took off my clothes and put them on again later very smoothly as if I wee feeling no
emotion reiterating her lack of emotion/affection.
In chapter three we see the conflict between the two languages of
French and English starting to arise. On page twenty we see the first utterance occurring when the
waitress in the restaurants utters
Amburger impersonating the protagonist s English dialect. The narrator then states This is border
country . In this simple sentence it is clear to see the notion of division twenty protagonist holds. The
protagonist seems to be somewhat paranoid as to whether she belongs in this place.
Again on page t we see the narrator being placed in a paradoxical position when she thinks if you live
in a place you should speak the language. But this isn t where I

It was a hot Friday afternoon around mid July. While most girls would be sunbathing at the beach or

Ever since you were introduced to your first anime, you had been hooked on the genre: the art style,

Unfortunately, other items are much harder to divide when jointly owned. For example, a small
business that is owned by two people will have another owner to contend with. While the other owner

Be sure you get documentation for jointly owned assets that states how all owners agree for the asset

With that out of the way, let s talk about everything that has to do with a Web Developer. According to
a website called O*NET, the Strong Interest Inventory for this job is CIR, Conventional, Investigative
and Realistic. Conventional is ranked number one based on the nature to which programming
happens. In programming, you know where you start and where you end. You might think you have a
large amount of freedom to get to the endpoint, but in reality there only a few, if not just one way of
solving the problem. So in the job, it s the repetition of finding the problem, identifying the end, and
following the set path to which solves the problem. Investigative is second on the list and this deals
with the ever evolving principle of the job. Since programming is relatively new, the area is evolving
at an incredible pace and you must keep up with it. You must learn the new information, master it, and
then finish your project before anyone else does. The final interest is Realistic and it relates to the
atmosphere of the work environment. You do not work on theoretical ideas; you work on projects that

Just because an individual enters a care facility, does not mean they lose citizenship, values,
compassion or love. Everyone regardless of age, wants to feel loved and needed. There are many
benefits and negatives associated with the leisure ability model in regards to patients and the staff. The
Leisure ability model allows for flexibility as this type of model focuses on leisure, it can be used on
any population group (Yaffe, 1998, p. 105). This makes it a very popular choice for homes, as any
home regardless of culture, age and illness can implement it. The way in which, staff deliver the
leisure is also up to them giving them flexibility in decision making, they can also include the
residents (Yaffe, 1998, p. 105). There are arguments for the leisure ability model as it allows patients
to experience a human right, that being leisure and allows them to overcome constraints they may face
in regards to leisure (Yaffe, 1998, p. 105). This means individuals who face barriers and constraints
are assisted with the use of leisure and allows there to be a focus on wellness and health (Yaffe, 1998,
p. 105). While there are advantages to the leisure ability model, there are also disadvantages to the
model. Bullock (1998) argues that although the model has been present for two decades, it does not
take into account current literature and research (p. 102). This model is extremely popular, but

proposed genetic algorithm in this study is applied to search for the lowest free energy conformation
of the epitopes sequence and nonamer subsequence. The GA is an elitist based strategy with the
roulette wheel selection and the elitist steady state replacement. Two types of real coded crossovers
and two levels of mutation were performed. The elitism based GA is used to emphasize the best
chromosomes in the genetic operations. Elitism increases the performance of GA rapidly because it
keeps the best found solution through the succeeding generations and prevents losing it. There are
many genetic parameters are needed in the standard genetic algorithm, such as the population size, the
crossover probability, and the mutation rate. The parameters employed in our proposed GA for
predicting epitopes tertiary structure are: population size N=200, the selected population M=30 (elitist
chromosomes) to apply the GA operators, and the crossover probability is equal to 1. We used two

Abortion And Its Effects On The United States Essay
In the United States 1.7% of women aged 15 44 have an abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United
States ). Twenty one percent of all pregnancies end in abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United States
). Women most commonly have abortions before the end of her first trimester, twelve weeks into the
pregnancy, however, abortions may also be performed after the first trimester. Abortions are quite
common, but they also lead to numerous issues for the parents such as regret, depression, drug abuse
and even suicide. The parent s choice of abortion has lasting physical and psychological effects on the
parents of the aborted child, even years after the abortion process.
The abortion process has changed in numerous ways during the last two centuries. Abortion was once
illegal, then it changed to be legal. Throughout the process of legalization, it changed in many ways.
In 1821, the state of Connecticut passed a law that banned the use of a liquid, after the fourth month
that would induce a miscarriage of the child ( Timeline of Abortion Laws and Events ). The liquid had
been used for several years simply to terminate the baby, without causing much pain to the mother.
Later on in the 19th century, supplementary efforts were taken to prevent women from being able to
abort their child. By the year of 1856, groups of pro life supporters gathered together with the leader
Dr. Horatio Storer, a pro life supporter, to establish a national drive to prevent women from abortion (

What was the Women’s Suffrage Movement, and How did it...
Suffrage: the right to vote in political elections. The men in America have always had the right to vote.
They have always had the right to do whatever they wanted. Women, on the other hand, have not.
They haven t always been allowed to vote. 1920 marked a significant landmark in American history.
Women in all parts of the country voted in a political election for the first time. This may not sound
like that big of a deal, but to the women of the 19th and 20th centuries. In the 1800s, women were not
allowed to have a say in what was perceived to be a man s world. They were expected to be mothers
and housewives. Nothing more, nothing less. Women tried to get legislation to pass a reform, but they
refused to listen. Because of this, they felt they needed to gain the right to vote. Seneca Falls, NY in
1848 marked the start of the women s suffrage movement. The movement, being led by many
influential women, such as Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, was said to be one of the
largest political movement of the 20th century. According to the National Women s History Museum,
the movement was the ...single largest enfranchisement and extension of democratic rights in our
nation s history ( Rights for Women: The Suffrage ). The advocacy for women s suffrage quieted
down during the Civil War, but was brought back to life with the proposal of the 15th amendment,
which would give black men the right to vote. When women s suffrage was brought back to the
national scene, a

Adam And Eve s Influence On Religion
It was simple, Adam and Eve were given, by God, everlasting life in a place of perfection. They would
take care of the land, explore and raise a family in the Garden of Eden. This would also give them the
opportunity to build a better relationship with God, getting to know him and his works. Adam and Eve
were required to obey God, and if they chose to disobey him they would suffer and lose their lives.
They were given one command: that they could eat from any tree in the garden except for the tree of
knowledge, also known as the tree of good and evil. Satan came as a serpent in the garden telling Eve
that she should eat from the tree. Eve remembered what God had told them and she told Satan that. In
spite of God, Satan told Eve that the fruit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So Pilate said to him: well, then, are you a king? Jesus answered: You yourself are saying that I am a
king. For this I have been born. And for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to
the truth. Everyone who is on the side of the truth listens to my voice . (John 18:37) He wanted to
provide the hope of everlasting life to his people, and teach them how to find happiness in times of
heartache and pain. When we say everlasting life there is more to it than just life after death in heaven.
Everlasting abundant life consist of things like love, happiness, and our spiritual encounters with God.
There will still be trials but that is a part of life, and God will be right there guiding each one of us to
help us through it. With the resurrection of Jesus, God uses this to symbolize how salvation leads to a
body of no imperfections and no pain. With this God had a plan, and he wanted all thing things,
willingly sacrificing his son for us. Jesus was sent to reveal his father, to speak his word and preach to
the people. By preaching to the people he taught them. By leading the people and being a physical
example of how to live for God, he created a pattern to encourage those to continue and follow in his

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark...
Retelling The novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, is narrated by a 15 year old
boy with a form of autism named Christopher Boone. It is about his search for order and stability in
his life and how he copes with situations that lack this. At the beginning of the story, Christopher
discovers that his neighbour s dog, named Wellington, has been murdered. He decides to get to the
bottom of this and solve the mystery of Wellington s murderer while writing a murder mystery novel
about it. As he begins to investigate the neighbourhood, Christopher s dad discovers the book and
confiscates it. While looking for his book, Christopher stumbles upon a box in his fathers closet
containing his book as well as 43 letters. They are all from his mother and addressed to him. The
letters are dated after her supposed death and reveal that she is living with Mr. Shears, the man she had
an affair with, in London. Christopher is shocked and his father confesses that he lied about his
mothers death and goes a step further by revealing that he was the culprit behind Wellington s murder.
Christopher leaves his father that night and embarks on his journey to London to live with his mother.
He overcomes many obstacles, but is eventually reunited with his mother in London. After Mr. Shears
shows his disapproval of Christopher joining them, his mother leaves Mr. Shears and takes
Christopher back to Swindon. Christopher and his mother both live in a small flat and his father has

Professional Nursing Goals
1. My first goal that I would like to see personal growth on as a nurse is with my communication skills
when talking to a patient. I would like to have a caring and helpful relationship with my patient. I want
to improve my verbal and nonverbal communication skills so that I appear as if I know what I am
taking about, and that I ensure that my facial expressions and body posture are appropriate for the
situation. 2. My second clinical goal for this week is to be able to demonstrate safe and cleanly
nursing practices when performing a skill. I want to make sure the environment is safe and
comfortable for the patient by making sure there is nothing on the ground if a patient has a risk for
falls, or by putting on a gait belt if needed. I could

Sydney Edwards Research Paper
It turns out that one person will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills next season.
Us Magazine shared the news that Kathryn Edwards will not be coming back to the show after just
one season. Kathryn joined the cast last season and is a friend of Lisa Rinna. She is married to retired
NFL star Donnie Edwards. She did have a bit of drama on the show, but Kathryn s story line just wasn
t enough for them to keep her around. Bravo is known for changing up the women on The Real
Housewives of Beverly Hills and their other shows from time to time. Joyce Giraud and Carlton
Gebbia were both only on one season of the show as well. Kathryn could come back from time to time
as a friend of the show if they decide they want to do it that way. Seeing that Kathryn is friends with
Lisa it is very possible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This news came out before Kathryn was fired, which means that Sydney now has a perfect spot open
for her. After she was introduced by Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger, Holland began dating
Redstone. Patti is known for setting up rich couples. She was given million dollars in gifts and Sydney
bought real estate with this money. Sydney Holland does have a strange backstory as she was kicked
out of the Redstone s Beverly Park estate for allegedly cheating with an actor she was spotted out with
around town. If Sydney was to join the show, she would have a very interesting story that fans would
like to hear. So far, there has been nothing confirmed either way, but they will be looking for someone
to fill the spot of Kathryn Edwards. Last season, they got rid of Brandi Glanville and Kim Richards
both. It doesn t look like there is any chance that Glanville will be returning, but there has been a bit of
talk about Kim Richards coming back to the show again now that she is sober. It will be interesting to
see what they decide to do now that Kathryn Edwards is

The story begins as one of the characters, baby Lewis, Contracts cholera, and when the mother washes diapers and cleans for the baby, she throws the water into the street. This leads to the outbreak. While the Board of Health believed the smell of the city was the cause of the outbreak, there was another citizen who believed otherwise. Henry Whitehead was a doctor who began to specialize in anesthesiology. From the book, it can be learned to keep cities clean and find ways to dispose of all human waste. It can also be learned that from this book people can begin to understand confirmation bias. When doing research people often only find information to back their hypothesis, and what needs to happen is the researcher must look at the data from every angle so they can find the truth. The map itself also led to the creation of Geographic Information Systems. GISs are extremely helpful in today s society because it can help show data in a new form that is easier to understand. It also makes it to where different data can be layered. Also a lot can be learned about data collection from this book. John Snow had a lot of data to collect, and he also had to find ways to graph it. He could have just as easily wrote down all the addresses and how many people died there, but he chose to make the map, and it made it possible to physically see where the concentration was. All of these things that was discussed throughout the seminar, the book, and timelines taught me a lot. I leaned that zooming in and out of data can change its perspective monumentally, and it makes it where you could prove a point even if when you back up, the same point would not be made. I also learned that we use GIS every day, and we do not even realize it. Finally, it taught me to never take advantage of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nurses play many roles in today s society; they have to balance family, life, and their job. Nursing is a very demanding profession; you are caring for the sick with limited resources causing nurses to create unrealistic expectations (Bush, 2009). Nurses create a tireless arrangement and emotional connections with patients, shouldering a huge supporting role. Supporting this role causes nurses to feel emotional exhaustion and the weight of care for patients can become overwhelming. Signs of emotional exhaustion can cause nurse to become hostile, isolated, start crying for no reason, and getting upset (Bush, 2009). Honestly, the growing number of children in Tanzania as (Woods, 2009) alerts, is a clarion call for excessive investment in education, and in other public services. Comparable to other poor countries as Jeffrey Sachs and Easterly (2006) argued, the poor people live entwined in inadequacy, in which taking to account the global abuse of children, poor wellbeing, learning, and poor arrangement reinforces one another (p. 10 ). It is incontestable that children are the treasured resources of any future nation, and therefore, financing beyond their education quality would be the ultimate investment for their development. This is to say, parents, teachers, and communities need to ensure the safety of children and monitor what they learn in classrooms, while paying a distinctive attention to the marginalized children the most likely to be victims of quality education access limitation. 1: 1: 7 Pre Colonial Education in Tanzania Before the arrival of colonial powers in Tanzania, education was informal. Happiness By Robert Nozick Noora Hosheshi Introduction In The Examined Life, philosopher Robert Nozick lists three conceptions of happiness, which he calls the three forms of happiness (Nozick, p. 108). The third form of happiness is defined satisfaction with life as a whole being able to look back on one s life and be satisfied with what one has done/experienced (Nozick, p. 110). He argues it is easy to understand why people long for this type of happiness, as it is pleasurable to experience in itself. The story chronicles the pressures and expectations of the Permian Panthers football team in socially divided Odessa, Texas. Throughout the story, challenges are presented with each of the protagonists: James Boobie Miles, Mike Winchell, Don Billingsley, Gary Gaines, Brian Chavez, and Ivory Christian. The book begins with the author talking about his motivation to write the book. Also the author discusses the importance of Permian s game against Midland Lee High School (their arch rivals). • 19. A Tale Of Two Cities Essay Capitol Punishment: Toy of Evil Men One might believe that because capital punishment plays such a large role in Charles Dickens A Tale Of Two Cities, that Dickens himself is a supporter of it. This just simply is not true. Dickens uses capitol punishment as a tool to define the evil embodied in both the French ruling class, and the opposing lower class during the French Revolution; as well as comment on the sheep like nature of humankind. In the beginning of the novel, capital punishment serves as the quot;cure all quot; for France s social problems. After all, quot;death is nature s remedy for all things, and why not legislation s? quot; (62). It is this attitude that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... quot; They are murdering the prisoners, quot; says Mr. Lorry to Darnay after arriving in France (260). Again Dickens uses capitol punishment as a way to show the reader the atrocities that humanity can create when consumed with hatred and evil. Dickens can be seen approaching the subject of the guillotine with cynical sarcasm when he writes, quot;it was the popular theme for jests; it was the best cure for headache, it infallibly prevented the hair from turning gray...who kissed La Guillotine looked through the little window and sneezed into the sack quot; (271). Just as with the Aristocrats, Dickens does not condone the Jacques use of capital punishment. His disdain is apparent in his tone; which gnaws away at any inkling the reader may have that the treatment of the prisoners is fair. Capital punishment is also used as a social commentary by showing how people cling to the popular attitudes and beliefs of the day. People are quick to adopt the guillotine as their new savior. Dickens articulates the common attitude towards this when he writes, quot;[the guillotine] was the sign of the regeneration of the human race. It superseded the cross quot; (271). These quot;followers of the guillotine quot; are ruthless in their quest for blood as they shout quot;Take off his head...an enemy to the republic! quot; (280). The Vysys Nineteen Thirty Eight Regardless of the despondency at the prospect of war with Germany generated throughout the country at large, the Vyses annual show opened as scheduled at Walker s Galleries on Wednesday, 30th November 1938. It was the Vyses eleventh successive exhibition and although they did not envisage such a far reaching event, it proved to be their final joint exhibition. Writing in Walker s Monthly magazine, J L Naimaster reinforcing the mood of the time: Though international crises may threaten us, and vogues may change and novelties may date, but Pottery that is fundamentally well balanced remains static and real in an unstable, hysterical world. It was Nell Vyse s opinion that in such uncertain times that no one could remain sane without using a liberal amount of imagination, only a few of us can materialise our fantasies. The Vyses, ever optimistic, exhibited one hundred and sixty pieces of stoneware pottery. Nell Vyse had the difficult task of teaming Art with Science, to produce extravagant and delicate glazes in a variety of hues. It was the Vyses complete control of the atmosphere within the kiln chamber produced such subtle glazes as the blues and purples Chüns, the varied greens of the Celadon. Without such precise control, potters in rare and happy accidents produce such glazes. No photograph, however detailed, can illustrate the rosy purples that suffused the delicate blue Chün glazes (Fig. 149 p.186). Acceding to popular demand, the Vyses introduced two new figurative works, which collectors could approve from monochrome photographs of the original clay maquettes, published in Walker s Monthly. ... • 37. Lvb Lab Report 2.6 Support Vector Machine Classification We have used the latest version of LibSVM 3.20 [39] library for our SVM work. The Radial Basis Function (RBF) Gaussian Kernel is utilized as an SVM kernel function. The similarity reduced IEDB dataset under test consists of twelve alleles of binders and non binders peptides. The binders peptides represent our positive instances while the non binder peptides represent the negative instances. We have selected balanced x instances from each allele (i.e., x binders and x non binders), where x is the minimum count number of all binders and non binders peptides in each allele as shown in Table 1. The HLA DRB1*0101 allele from Wang benchmark dataset also treated and prepared like IEDB dataset. We run our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The overall process of our proposed technique to predict the epitope structure is illustrated in (Figure 2). Figure 2: The overall process of the Genetic Algorithm for Predicting the Epitope Structure (GAPES) 3. Results and Discussion The proposed prediction technique is implemented and tested using Java platform with JDK1.8.0_20 on Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz processor and 3 GB RAM, running on Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. 3.1 GA Performance and Parameter Settings The proposed genetic algorithm in this study is applied to search for the lowest free energy conformation of the epitopes sequence and nonamer subsequence. The GA is an elitist based strategy with the roulette wheel selection and the elitist steady state replacement. Two types of real coded crossovers and two levels of mutation were performed. The elitism based GA is used to emphasize the best chromosomes in the genetic operations. Elitism increases the performance of GA rapidly because it keeps the best found solution through the succeeding generations and prevents losing it. There are many genetic parameters are needed in the standard genetic algorithm, such as the population size, the crossover probability, and the mutation rate. The parameters employed in our proposed GA for predicting epitopes tertiary structure are: population size N=200, the selected population M=30 (elitist chromosomes) to apply the GA operators, and the crossover probability is equal to 1. We used two levels of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Abortion And Its Effects On The United States Essay In the United States 1.7% of women aged 15 44 have an abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United States ). Twenty one percent of all pregnancies end in abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United States ). Women most commonly have abortions before the end of her first trimester, twelve weeks into the pregnancy, however, abortions may also be performed after the first trimester. Abortions are quite common, but they also lead to numerous issues for the parents such as regret, depression, drug abuse and even suicide. The parent s choice of abortion has lasting physical and psychological effects on the parents of the aborted child, even years after the abortion process. The abortion process has changed in numerous ways during the last two centuries. Abortion was once illegal, then it changed to be legal. Throughout the process of legalization, it changed in many ways. In 1821, the state of Connecticut passed a law that banned the use of a liquid, after the fourth month that would induce a miscarriage of the child ( Timeline of Abortion Laws and Events ). The liquid had been used for several years simply to terminate the baby, without causing much pain to the mother. Later on in the 19th century, supplementary efforts were taken to prevent women from being able to abort their child. By the year of 1856, groups of pro life supporters gathered together with the leader Dr. Horatio Storer, a pro life supporter, to establish a national drive to prevent women from abortion ( Timeline ... • 39. This may not sound like that big of a deal, but to the women of the 19th and 20th centuries. In the 1800s, women were not allowed to have a say in what was perceived to be a man s world. They were expected to be mothers and housewives. Nothing more, nothing less. Women tried to get legislation to pass a reform, but they refused to listen. Because of this, they felt they needed to gain the right to vote. Seneca Falls, NY in 1848 marked the start of the women s suffrage movement. The movement, being led by many influential women, such as Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, was said to be one of the largest political movement of the 20th century. According to the National Women s History Museum, the movement was the ...single largest enfranchisement and extension of democratic rights in our nation s history ( Rights for Women: The Suffrage ). The advocacy for women s suffrage quieted down during the Civil War, but was brought back to life with the proposal of the 15th amendment, which would give black men the right to vote. When women s suffrage was brought back to the national scene, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Adam And Eve s Influence On Religion It was simple, Adam and Eve were given, by God, everlasting life in a place of perfection. They would take care of the land, explore and raise a family in the Garden of Eden. This would also give them the opportunity to build a better relationship with God, getting to know him and his works. Adam and Eve were required to obey God, and if they chose to disobey him they would suffer and lose their lives. They were given one command: that they could eat from any tree in the garden except for the tree of knowledge, also known as the tree of good and evil. Satan came as a serpent in the garden telling Eve that she should eat from the tree. Eve remembered what God had told them and she told Satan that. In spite of God, Satan told Eve that the fruit ... And for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is on the side of the truth listens to my voice . (John 18:37) He wanted to provide the hope of everlasting life to his people, and teach them how to find happiness in times of heartache and pain. When we say everlasting life there is more to it than just life after death in heaven. Everlasting abundant life consist of things like love, happiness, and our spiritual encounters with God. There will still be trials but that is a part of life, and God will be right there guiding each one of us to help us through it. With the resurrection of Jesus, God uses this to symbolize how salvation leads to a body of no imperfections and no pain. With this God had a plan, and he wanted all thing things, willingly sacrificing his son for us. Jesus was sent to reveal his father, to speak his word and preach to the people. By preaching to the people he taught them. By leading the people and being a physical example of how to live for God, he created a pattern to encourage those to continue and follow in his ...
