Un Canadien Errant Analysis
Un Canadien errant is a song composed in 1842 by Antoine GĂ©rin Lajoie and was intended to remind
people that after the Lower Canada (Québec) Rebellion of 1837 38, many French Canadians were
forced to foreign lands such as Australia, the USA, and elsewhere for having taken part in a rebellion
against the British. The British authorities put down the rebellion very harshly, destroying crops,
burning villages and farms, and after had some rebels executed and others deported. The song has
become an anthem for certain groups of Canadians who have at a point in their history experienced the
pain of being deported from their homeland. The song also holds importance for the Acadians, who
suffered mass deportation in the Great Upheaval between 1755 and 1763. The Acadian version is
called Un Acadien errant. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, there was another group called the Nationalists. The Nationalists were led by Louis Joseph
Papineau, who was elected Speaker of the Assembly in 1815. He organized the Parti Canadien, which
was known as the Patriote Party. The Patriote Party wanted the right to determine how all of the
revenues raised within the colony were spent. They also challenged the authority of the elected upper
house, and sought control over the provincial civil service and the Executive Council, which advised
the governor. A series of incidents, such as the shooting deaths of three French Canadians by British
troops during a riot in 1832, increased tensions between the majority and the minority. The Patriote
Party became more extreme in its demands, such as creating the 92 Resolutions, which was sent to
London in 1834. The Resolutions were ignored for three years, during which time members of the
Patriotes began to push for

Killua Alternate Ending
You pin the tag to your black sweater, it s labeled with the number 357. Around you are many other,
mostly older males. Your older brother, Illumi informed you that Killua, your beloved younger
brother, ran away from home and will be taking the Hunter exam this year. You scanned your
surrounding, trying to at least find either Killua or Illumi to no avail. After a bit of searching, you spy
a young kid with fluffy white hair accepting a can of juice from applicant #16. Killua. You wasted no
time and dash right over to him, glomping him, totally ignoring #16 who attempt to hand you a can of
juice also. Killua it s been so long! You exclaim, still hugging him. Killua struggle to get out of your
embrace, until he recognize your voice. N nee san..? He ask, surprised to see you again at the Hunter

risks, please follow me. Otherwise, please exit via the elevator behind you. He paused, giving time for
people to decide. Very well. All 404 applicants will participate in Phase One. He say, and started

President Andrew Jackson
In regards to the overall effect a single president has had in the course of US history, President
Andrew Jackson should be taken into consideration. Though his morals and personality have long
been critiqued and scrutinized, Jackson s presidency had an indisputable effect upon the power of the
president as an individual. Jackson s profound influence upon the office of presidency was
exemplified within his fiscal, social, and political interventions in American politics during the mid
nineteenth century.
President Andrew Jackson changed the office of presidency through his continuous actions, which
served to diminish the power of the federal government thus increasing both his political and
economic agendas. The economic policies Jackson enacted demonstrated his distrust of both large
government and Northeastern power brokers. Due to his hatred for big government, Jackson detested
the Bank of the United States. Jackson ensured that the Second Bank of the United States (BUS) failed
by vetoing Congress s attempt to recharter it in ..... In addition Jackson also secured its decrepit state
by withdrawing federal funds from the bank, which he later would deposit in his pet banks. Although
his hatred for the bank invoked controversy there were many that shared his economic beliefs. In Doc
4 this is exemplified as Jackson is portrayed is the hero slaying the hydra headed monster. The
portrayal of the Bank of the United States as a mythological monster reinforces the notion that

Iran Essay
Iran and the IAEA s Earlier Attempts Following the discovery of the undeclared construction of a
large underground nuclear related facility in Natanz and the existence of highly enriched uranium in
2002, the Iranian nuclear crisis began in full force. The following summer, the then director of the
IAEA, Mohamed ElBaradei, presented a report to the IAEA Board of Governors in which failures and
breaches of safeguards by Iran were cited without ambiguity and additional inspections were
recommended (Mousavin 66). Despite this, ElBaradei refused to say the Iran was in noncompliance
with its safeguards (Brown 174). This was of much disappointment to the U.S. and further strained its

for its harsh advances against Iran. In February 2006, Iran was referred to the S.C. by the IAEA Board
of Governors and in June, China, Russia and the U.S. joined the E3 to form the P5+1. In response,
Iran announced that they would resume uranium enrichment activities and end implementation of the
Additional Protocol ( Iran 1). Before advancing further, it is necessary to analyze the events of 2003
2005 to understand the role of the IAEA during this period and why such broad international
assistance was needed to achieve the slightest of results. After receiving the Board of Director s
resolution of September 2003, Iran immediately questioned its authority as it was outside of the
Safeguards Agreements and Additional Protocol. Iran believed the resolution and request for
cooperation had no legal base and would be accepted not as an international obligation but as a gesture
of goodwill and a confidence building measure (Mousavin 74). It was not until Iran was threatened
with referral to the S.C. under Article XII, Paragraph C of the IAEA statute that they began to comply.
Iran was not prepared to handle the consequences of a referral, which would threaten the country with
isolation (Mousavin 76). In addition, suspicion of Iran had spread from the Western countries to
Russia, China, and its Middle Eastern neighbors. It was only after immense

Middle Ages Dbq Essay
The middle ages are a topic that most people know of as the Dark Ages but mainly because no one
could identify what really happened during this time period. This was a period of learning and
innovation. Great things like religion, democracies were spread and created. That is why the Dark
Ages weren t so dark, like every person makes them out to be! One of the biggest questions out there
is, why are the Middle Ages known as the Dark Ages in the first place? Evidence from Document A: A
Dictionary Entry for the Dark Ages suggest that no one knew right away what happened in the Middle
Ages, that is why it became known as the Dark Ages. From then on once it got its name historians and
researchers automatically got a negative connotation about the Middle Ages. They thought there was
no learning or innovation taking place during this period, just because of negative meaning it gained.
As the days passed researchers soon figured out what really happened in the Middle Ages. One new
innovation that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides trading silk, brocades, cotton, tea, books, cooper coins, and porcelain, the Japanese learned a
new religion; Buddhism. During the peaceful period between Japan and China during the feudal
period, trade relation often varied. But when the countries were at peace, the trade routes flourished.
Based on Document F, trade was instrumental in the spread of Buddhism to Japan. The Dark Ages was
a time of new creations since the Magna Carta was created during the time period. New things were
learned, new religions like Buddhism were introduced to countries like Japan through trade. All these
things show that the Dark Ages were a time of innovation and learning. The Middle Ages were just
called Dark Ages, because at first no one knew what went on during this time frame. The Dark ages is
not an appropriate term to describe the Middle Ages as.

The Eighth Sin In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
The Eighth Sin Of the Seven Deadly Sins, there are powerful arguments for each one being more
deadly or worse than the others. However, there is an Eighth that is inherently the worst sin. Each of
the Seven Sins are socially acceptable in small doses. For example, it is not a sin to be proud of
something you ve made or to mad at a situation or to even simply want what someone else has. All
that becomes sin, however, when it is blown out of moderation, and when you go out of your way to
amplify the feelings and act on them, like becoming so proud you actively try to destroy others works
or become so wanting you steal, take, or destroy others property. This Eighth Sin, though, is not like
this. You cannot simply act it out in moderation, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This action can also be projected onto other people, deliberately causing them to become more
depressed and losing hope. To actively make yourself and others around you lose will and heart is to
kill yourself and others not only possibly physically, but spiritually. It is the eighth sin and quite
possibly the worst sin because it affects not only you, but primarily those around you.
Integrating despondence into Canterbury Tales would simply be another tale told by one of the
pilgrims. This tale could be about a desponder whose sin catches up to him or her after his or her
regular hopeless attitude and projection of it onto others causes a catastrophic event with them
negative results on those around them. The moral of the tale about despond would be simply stated,
though sometimes difficult to do; this moral would be to support others and do your best to instill
them with confidence, to keep their spirits and their hopes up. We can learn through helping others not
just physically but emotionally, we help ourselves just the same. Staying despondent creates a cycle of
hopelessness and depression that may never be broken, and the cycle has no positive

Plea Bargains In Prisons
American prison food was already subpar to begin with, but with budget cuts and efforts to save
money, many prisons and companies chose to make cuts with the quality and amounts of food given to
the prisoners. The Schuylkill County Prison in Pennsylvania was sued for not feeding their inmates
enough to feed a child (Santo Iaboni, 2015). Some prisons, and private companies, generally go by a
calorie minimum that must be provided, which sometimes allow for prisoners to only get two meals a
day, these meals can cost as low as 56 cents per meal, and supposedly these menus are being reviewed
by a nutritionist (Santo Iaboni, 2015). One of these meal programs provided by a prison in Maricopa
County, Arizona has even chosen to cut out meat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A more common practice would be fines, followed by suspended sentences (Subramanian Shames,

penalties can also be a possible sentence, like suspended sentences, the offender is still in the
community and under a supervisor, but is also required to complete a work order, which can be
training or another community based activity which teaches the offender different behavioral or
communication skills (Subramanian Shames, 2014). These penalties are allowing offenders to

Accordingly, banking regulators assessed minimum values for each of these key measures. At 2007,
adequately capitalized (i.e., minimum) levels were 4% for the Tier 1 capital ratio, 8% for the total
capital ratio, and 3% for the leverage ratio; well capitalized levels were 6% for Tier 1 capital, 10% for
total capital, and 5% for leverage. Well capitalized banks qualified for, among other things, lower
premiums assessed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Undercapitalized banks
(e.g., below the 8% minimum required total capital) received a warning from the FDIC; continued

Outline Of Narrative Of Phylicia My Wife
Outline Introduction: Personal narrative Phylicia, my wife, was in class in West Mesquite High school
in Texas, like usual. During a break given to her by her teacher she found her group of girls she always
talked to. They started to have small talk and to make jokes. The chuckles of young school girls could
be heard throughout the entire class room. One of the girls made a comment that shifted the
conversation. Who do you live with? asked one of the girls to Phylicia. I live with my mom and
stepdad answered Phylicia, Who do you live with? she asked in return. One of the other girls chimed
in Oh I live with my mom, with a casual sound to her voice. The next girl answered the question I live
with my mom and step dad, with a similar nonchalant tone to her voice. The last girl answered I live
with my mom and dad. They sat there staring at her like a Martian. The concept of having both parents
still together was as alien as anything could have been to my wife, Phylicia, and her friends. All of the
girls were confused by the response. They didn t understand what she was saying and one asked No,
who do you live with? Your mom and stepdad or your dad and step mom? Her friend replied, No, I
live with my mom and my dad. As in they re married and we all live together. They couldn t believe it.
None of them lived with both their parents; this was an anomaly for them, both parents. After her
friends comment they all began to tease her and make fun of her. Looking

The Dark Forest Of Black Rock Essay
Ayland rode his horse around the deep forest circling the Hedgeknorey s castle, in black rock. He
carefully led his horse down a path within the evergreen forest of black rock, covered with pine trees,
but also with oak and elder trees.
He has been around this path many times before and maybe even too much as the curious souls began
to wonder why a boy of such a noble status would wander in the deep forest of black rock. Not a lot of
people spent time in forests, at least not too far away from the main rocky road, made for horses,
merchandises, and peasants on foot. People would not wander too far in the forest, because of the
obvious fear of wild animals, especially during winter. But they were also avoiding another threat.
And that threat was a human threat also known as Willem the Druid, who was a feared and at the same
time a much venerated man because of his knowledge of medicine and herbs. He was also rumored to
know magic, and this was perhaps what made him such a dreadful person.
But Ayland had this thing about him; which was that he feared no one since he was also certain that he
was to become King, one day. This assertion was not born out of a pretentious, motherly molded
dream, but by the fact that he was an ambitious and great risk taker. Qualities he would share with his
mother.
Ayland, got down from his horse, tied it up and walked pass a small house, which should have been
the Druid s house. There was a strong smell of brewing rosemary herbs and the small

How Did Mtv Influence Music In The 80s
One of the most important events to influence music in the 80s was the creation of MTV (Music
Television). MTV was the first station to exclusively play music videos, hitting the airwaves on
August 1st, 1981. The first music video to be played on the channel was the Buggles Video Killed the
Radio Star, as music is constantly changing the focus would shift from music to fashion and famous
people doing idiotic things. The original idea was for the station was to play music videos twenty four
hours a day, every day. This has obviously changed since then, but the innovative concept created a
whole new kind of pop star.
Pop music changed throughout the 80s and thaks to MTV there was a massive shift in interest to not
only the music the artist was producing but also to the imag eof the artist themselves. Because of this
super stars emerged and became mascots for pop music. Some of these superstars were Michael
Jackson, Madona, Whitney Houston. These superstars were experiencing a level of fame that had not
been seen since The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

One of the reasons Hip Hop found it hard to break into the mainstream was that MTV did not want to
show music videos of black artists. After public outcry the station played musicians like Michael
Jackson and he paved the way for more black musicians as his music videos were among the most
popular. Hip Hop sounded like nothing that had been heard in the mainstream before, and the 80s are
commonly thought of as the golden age of Hip Hop where all music produced seemed to be original
creative and innovative. At the end of the 80s MTV was airing the show YO! MTV Raps making Hip
Hop and Rap a global phenominon. prolific Hip Hop acts like Run DMC and LL COOL J became
style icons. The beatie boys decided to make thier music white friendly and added rock music

A Brief History of Antibiotics, Antibiotic Resistance, and Antibiotic Alternatives
Antibiotic Resistance and Alternatives
Antibiotics have been commonly, though mistakenly, thought of as the ultimate cure, for almost all
illness, for over half a century now. However, the intended use of antibiotics is for the treatment of
bacterial infections and diseases. Viruses or fungi related illnesses will not be affected by antibiotics.
This misunderstanding of the use of antibiotics has led to overuse, or the misuse, of antibiotics, in a
wide range of countries worldwide. As a result of overuse, misuse, and abuse, antibiotics, once hailed
as the savior of mankind, are an increasing threat as bacteria grow ever stronger. (Bunyard) The ...

aureus was one of the first publicized bacteria known to have become resistant to penicillin. (Ed.
Bonomo and Ed. Tolmasky) In London, just a few years after the introduction of penicillin, strains of
staphylococcus appeared that were resistant to penicillin, not simply by keeping it out, but by actually
destroying it. (Bunyard) S. aureus caused serious illnesses, such as pneumonia, endocarditis,
osteomylitis, and toxic shock syndrome. (Ed. Bonomo and Ed. Tolmasky) The clinical impact of this
resistance was staggering; this harmful pathogen had once again become untreatable.
Since the 1940 s, antibiotic production has increased rapidly. By 1946, in one hospital, 14% of the
strains isolated from patients had gained such resistance. In 1949, the U.S. produced penicillin and
streptomycin at the rate of 6.5 tons per month. (Bunyard) In the early 1950 s, nearly 60% of the strains
isolated from patients had gained resistance. (Bunyard) By 1954, the rate of production of broad
spectrum antibiotics had tripled to 220 tons a year. Today, the quantity produced in the U.S. alone is
18,000 tons a year, nearly half of which is used in the intensive rearing of animals as growth
promoters and for controlling disease on the farm, which itself is largely a product of closely confined
livestock. In the U.K., the Swann Committee of 1969 warned of the dangers of antibiotic resistance
from farmers using antibiotic growth promoters, and recommended a ban specifically on the use

The Jiff Lemon Case
1) Advise Markt whether Markt might be liable to NeemMiracle Ltd in Australia and New Zealand for
launching their neem oil hair care products under the brand name Mira Neem.
Is Markt at risk and liable to NeemMiracle with respect to Trade Mark infringement, passing off,
misleading or deceptive conduct?
No Trade Mark infringement for two reasons;
a) The mark or get up being used by Markt only similar in colour and not necessarily name, the word
neem may be argued to be descriptive. and
b) NeemMiracle has not registered the trademark in either Australia or New Zealand.
There may be a case for passing off under common law and/or misleading and deceptive conduct
under S 18 ACL . An action in passing off deals only with misrepresentation, for an action in passing
off to be successful we can refer to the classical trinity . In the Jiff Lemon Case Lord Oliver set out
three tests for an action in passing off to be met. The classical trinity has been used as a touchstone for
passing off.
It can be argued that the getup of the Mira Neem product(s) is adopting a similar style or mark to
NeemMiracle with respect to choice of colour, font and naming of the product; further argued that the
confusing labelling of the product without any disclaimer may misrepresent the Mira Neem product as
part of the products currently produced and marketed by NeemMiracle.

Suzerain And The Vassal Analysis
Greetings Regna,
Great technical writing. You gave some critical thinking points on Suzerain (overlord) and the Vassal
(servant). As pointed out by Fee and Gordon, In Old Testament times, covenants were often given by
an all powerful suzerain (overlord) to a weaker, dependent vassal (servant). The Israelites were chosen
to be a covenant keeping people and breaking the covenant led to dire consequences. Fee and Gordon
continue, What is important for your understanding is that in making a covenant with Israel on Sinai,
God used this well known covenant form when he constituted the binding contract between himself
(Yahweh = the Lord ) and his vassal, Israel. In return for benefits and protection, Israel was expected
to keep the many stipulations

The Ins and Outs of Cancer Essay
The Ins and Outs of Cancer
Cancer has affected the lives of each and every one of us alive today. Many people have know
someone with cancer, yet even those who haven t have been bombarded with constant reminders of its
terrible threat. Although cancer is often referred to as a single condition, it actually consists of more
than 100 different diseases, all characterized by the uncontrolled growth, reproduction, and spread of
abnormal body cells. All of these diseases are individually unique, yet the basic processes that produce
cancers are very similar (Ruddon, 1995). The human body consists of over 30 trillion cells, living in a
complex, interdependent harmony. They regulate each other s proliferation; normal cells reproduce ...

Proto oncogenes induce cell growth and reproduction, while tumor suppressor genes inhibit it.
Together, they carefully control the proliferation of cells. However, if a proto oncogene is mutated, it
can become a carcinogenic oncogene, driving excessive multiplication. Tumor suppressor genes, on
the other hand, contribute to cancer when they are inactivated by mutation (Ruddon, 1995).
Luckily, cancerous tumors are not caused by one little mutation in one cell they are caused by multiple
mutations in a number of the cell s growth controlling genes. The number of mutations necessary can
be as low as two or quite high, depending on the specific type of cancer. Generally, these mutations
occur either from mistakes during cell reproduction, or due to DNA damage caused by carcinogens
such as tobacco, certain poisons, and UV rays. So, why don t we all get cancer from these things right
away? Consider that one of your cells is damaged by poison and becomes mutated. In order for this
cell to turn into a cancer cell, the rest of the necessary mutations must also occur in this very same
cell. This in itself, is fairly unlikely. It normally takes decades for an incipient tumor to collect all the
mutations required for it s malignant growth, which explains why the average age for cancer diagnosis
is 67 (Ruddon, 1995). Why, then, do some individuals

Essay on Ethnography on Cambodian Americans
I chose Cambodian Americans for my target culture because it was a place I knew very little about.
My ignorance of that side of the world is laughable to say the least. Cambodian American was a great
choice because both the people and the culture are very captivating to me. While some Cambodian

their Cambodian traditions and way of life. Through Geert Hofstede s Taxonomy, I will explore the

While most Cambodian Americans are loyal to their own family units it is not uncommon for them to
be hesitant about close interaction with strangers even other Cambodians. The hesitation that some
Cambodian Americans face when meeting with strangers is due to the fact that the Cambodian culture
is one of high power distance. Hierarchy is determined usually by age or economic status. Social
hierarchy of age is evident in the greetings. Depending on who you are greeting determines the type of
greeting. If one were to greet someone who is Cambodian, they should do the formal put hands
together and bow. At chest level to someone who is of the same age or status, at mouth level to a
superior such as a boss and at nose level to someone who is an elder, such as a grandparent. (Vorani) If
greeting someone who isn t Cambodian, we just normally do the American hi while waving. It just
really depends. For the Cambodian culture, we have to make sure we greet using again the hands
together while bowing especially to those who are older than your parents. You also have to say a
formal saying in Khmer but I forgot the translation for it in one must to refer them as ming , bou , or
orm . This is based on both age and gender. (Eam) There is a clear delineation between superiors and
subordinates and between the young and the old. (Serpa)

What Is Crane s Use Of Naturalism
Naturalism is a very important philosophy in Crane s writing. Although humans have a tendency to
romanticize events in nature and in daily life that they perceive as great Crane tries to stay on the
naturalistic side of things.
Although Crane s writing is mostly naturalistic it contains some romanticism. This leads some people
to believe that Crane is a romantic writer. A quote from
RBOC chapter ** states . When analyzing this quote it shows a very romantic moment in the story
where Henry takes the flag and begins to rally the troops and encourage them. From there he leads the
troops into battle and because of this they win the battle. However, Crane inflates the importance of
this battle to the reader. In the grand scheme of things this battle affected literally nothing because of
their retreat. If the battle would have been as big of a deal as Crane described it then Henry s regiment

doesn t care. Through the wars of man and hardship of all nature has always been there but not once
has it cared. Nature continues to do what it does even if there s constant battle around. Additionally,
nature will continue to thrive and prosper even at hard times for man. This is shown in a quote from
RBOC chapter ** which states . This quote is the pure demonstration of how nature doesn t care.
While Henry freaks out about running away from battle and about the dead man getting up and

Care For Health Campaign Essay
The care for health campaign was the first family planning promotion to be done in Russia and it
helped increase the use of modern contraceptives by 12%. It was part of the womenÂŽs reproductive
health program (WRHP) which involved training of health care providers, advocacy and research.
This intervention resulted in increase in family planning counselling for women, longer continuation
rates of contraceptives and increase in clinic attendance for family planning in the intervention areas.
This program was birthed in 1994 by the US Agency for international development to improve the
health of children and women by promoting the change in the current family planning communication

The objectives of a campaign should resonate with the strategy (Myanmar, 2013). This is the point
where one asks questions such as what do I need to do to achieve the overall goal of the campaign? In
this case, one of the campaign objectives was to increase knowledge and positive attitudes towards
modern contraceptives. In so doing, the campaign would be meeting the overall strategy which was to
bring family planning to the public arena and to highlight its importance.
Choosing an age bracket is also essential as one is able to seclude the target audience in order to make
the campaign strategy more effective. The age bracket for women chosen was 18 30. This was also an
appropriate age since it is the prime age for reproduction.
One of the activities done was to disseminate the family planning message through national television.
The airtime was donated by the prime minister then. This was effective as the message reached
women throughout Russia and the neighboring countries. The campaign also used a disco event to
promote family planning communication.

Analysis of October Sky Essay
Living Above Ground The inspirational true story of Homer Hickam in October Sky reminds us all to
strive for our goals and never give up, even in the face of adversity. However, Homer was fighting for
a great deal in his pursuit of rocketry, he was even fighting for his life. Born in a coal mining town,
son of a foreman, Homer seemed destined to work the mine when he grew up. But in October Sky,
Homer has to overcome what the mine represents: isolation and death. The life of a coal miner is often
isolated from several things that most people would take for granted. Due to the demand of coal,
towns are set up wherever the mines are opened. In the case of the movie, the main setting was in the
remote town of Coalwood, West Virginia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This provides an interesting dynamic and internal conflict in Homer. He is overcoming the isolation
from his father by mining, and John even considers him a man since he has done hard work in the
mine. However, he also becomes isolated from his friends that he has spent so much time with
recently. He is relegated to spending lunch breaks catching up with the other members of the rocket
boys. While being separated from the outside world and even family and friends may be one effect of
the mine, a larger impact may be the fact that the mine is a place of death in the mind of Homer.
Throughout the movie, Homer s fear of the mine is shown in cases like where the boys are shooting
Roy Lee s car and he mentions how O Dell s father died when the roof of the mine collapsed near him
and cut his head off. Allusions are made to the symbol of death throughout the movie. The elevator
could be seen as a coffin, an instrument of isolation. When Homer is going down into the mine for the
first time, the shot is of him being lowered into the mine shaft, much like that of being lowered into a
grave. Homer even begins to blame himself for the death of Ike Bykovsky later in the movie. Because
Bykovsky helped Homer build the first rocket, Homer s father sent him into the mine, where he was
later killed. Homer keeps Bykovsky s number tag as a reminder of what his future could

Running With Scissors By Augusten Burroughs
Child development is the biological, psychological and emotional changes that occur in individuals
between birth and the end of adolescence. (Wiki) Child development is inevitably altered when
obstacles such as mental instability and abandonment arise, ultimately affecting children going into
adulthood. Adolescents are very unlikely to reach their full potential without the guidance of an adult
figure, such as a mother, father, sibling, or guardian. Adult figures are essential to a growing child
because they exemplify decision making, wisdom, and overall life lessons on how to grow up.
Although some children do have an adult figure in their life, they aren t always the best influences for
their children, adults also face their own battles which can reflect upon their exterior, ultimately
having a critical effect on a child s development. For example, in Running with Scissors by Augusten
Burroughs, the main character Augusten lives with his mother who suffers from a mental disorder who
guides him into a pathway of chaos and disorder. Augusten learns to cope with no guidance, but still
faces many issues that could have been resolved with a reassuring adult figure. Situations that affect
adults can range from divorce, alcoholism, and depression. Although not as talked about, teenage
parenting also plays a big role in the way a child will develop. In most cases, teenage pregnancies are
unplanned and as a result young teenage girls either decide to keep, abort, or put the baby

Renewable Energy Sources And Fossil Fuel Consumption
Renewable energy sources and fossil fuel consumption are among the most controversial topics on the
news today, and they are among the most highly debated political topics in America. Countries
throughout the world are competing to develop the most effective and efficient renewable energy
sources in order to replace fossil fuels. The benefits of renewable energy are their fuel source never
runs out and their fuel source is natural, as opposed to fossil fuels that are running out and create
dangerous pollutants. Currently, the most effective and efficient renewable energy sources
hydroelectric energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, nuclear energy, and solar energy work by
harnessing energy from a different part of the environment and converting it into electricity. Currently,
a debate exists over whether or not these energy sources are able to sustain America.
The United States of America consists of roughly 132,000,000 houses, millions of stores, and
thousands of large buildings (USA). Each of these buildings requires electricity, measured in kilowatt
hours, to sustain itself. On average, one house uses 10,837 kilowatt hours every year. This means that
the houses alone in America use around 1,435,867,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year (How
Much). This is the same amount of electricity that would be needed to run a large hospital, such as
Central Dupage Hospital, for over 76 years (Energy). The amount of energy that America needs every
year is massive; it

Copper Transport Disorders Paper
Background Problem:
Inherited copper transport disorders are caused by a defect in the gene that decodes for copper
transporting ATPases. This defect interferes with how the human body utilizes copper which is
manifested in disorders such as Wilson s disease, Menkes Disease, and the rare Occipital Horn
Syndrome. This article attempts to examine the types of copper transport disorders and focus on the
clinical problems in diagnosis and treatments. Even though there are diagnosis methods and
treatments for these diseases, there are still issues with the available resources. Readers would be
interested in the larger work because early diagnosis and treatment of this disease is critical in
managing the disorders.
Purpose:
When attempting to improve on the efficiency of diagnoses and treatments of copper transport
disorders, it was found that patients with Wilson s disease develop hepatocellular carcinoma even

The chelating agents given to remove excess copper are given either an hour before meals or two
hours after meals. Due to this, patients tend to become nauseous after consuming their medicine. This
side effect causes many patients to avoid taking their medicine. This is important because by solving
this obstacle, more patients will be more compliant in the treatment of their disease. Secondly, patients
with Wilson s disease have decreased levels of ceruloplasmin. This disrupts the iron homeostasis
which results in the accumulation of both iron and copper in the liver. This information is important
with diagnosing the disease. Another disease, such as hemochromatosis also exhibit high levels of iron
in the body. With this knowledge, when diagnosing patients, physicians should test for both diseases
to avoid wrong medical

Compare And Contrast Twilight And The Vampire Diaries
Twilight Movie Series Versus The Vampire Diaries Television Series It is an extraordinary thing to
meet someone who you can bare your soul to and accept you for what you are , this is a quote from
Edward Cullen in the movie Twilight. The Twilight movie series focuses on Bella and Edward s love
life and what it entails. These movies came out from 2008 2012. In 2009 the CW came out with the hit
television series The Vampire Diaries, which focuses on Elena Gilbert and her life along with the
Salvatore brothers. Both series originated from a book series and have been a popular source of
entertainment for years. The Twilight movie series and The Vampire Diaries television series both
have similarities and differences that revolve around the main characters, content, and story line. First,
to compare and contrast Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, the main characters need to be analyzed.
Bella Swan and Edward Cullen are the main characters in the Twilight movies, while Elena Gilbert
and Stefan and Damon Salvatore are the main characters in The Vampire Diaries. Both Elena and
Bella are humans at the beginning of each series and fall in love with a vampire. However, the
similarities between the two female characters end there. Elena is an older sibling and very protective
of her younger brother, Jeremy. Elena is also very popular and has many friends. Elena makes it very

breed; specifically in the diet aspect. Great Danes are prone to stomach issues. Bloating occurs if the
steps of the feeding process are not followed exactly. In this case the stomach may flip because of
eating too rapidly, drinking too much after eating, or exercising immediately after eating. Bloating
puts stress on the animal and is a very serious problem that ultimately results in death. The caregiver

age of the Great Dane. Most females eat around 8 cups while males eat around 10 cups a day. This
needs to be split up into two different feeding times. The best time to feed her is once in the morning
and once in the afternoon. This gives her time to relax and digest the food. After she eats, she can t
drink water for another hour. During that hour, she should not engage in any physical activity. Once
the hour is up, she is allowed to drink. During the hour and after, she needs to be monitored just to
make sure everything is okay. Follow the same steps for the afternoon feeding. The caregiver is
responsible for feeding her. To ensure safety, she must be denied access to water before and after
feeding; also, the caregiver needs to keep her calm and allow no exercise around feeding time. She
needs to be fed the correct amount of food using elevated bowls. The caregiver needs to watch her and

  • 2. Un Canadien Errant Analysis Un Canadien errant is a song composed in 1842 by Antoine GĂ©rin Lajoie and was intended to remind people that after the Lower Canada (QuĂ©bec) Rebellion of 1837 38, many French Canadians were forced to foreign lands such as Australia, the USA, and elsewhere for having taken part in a rebellion against the British. The British authorities put down the rebellion very harshly, destroying crops, burning villages and farms, and after had some rebels executed and others deported. The song has become an anthem for certain groups of Canadians who have at a point in their history experienced the pain of being deported from their homeland. The song also holds importance for the Acadians, who suffered mass deportation in the Great Upheaval between 1755 and 1763. The Acadian version is called Un Acadien errant. ... He organized the Parti Canadien, which was known as the Patriote Party. The Patriote Party wanted the right to determine how all of the revenues raised within the colony were spent. They also challenged the authority of the elected upper house, and sought control over the provincial civil service and the Executive Council, which advised the governor. A series of incidents, such as the shooting deaths of three French Canadians by British troops during a riot in 1832, increased tensions between the majority and the minority. The Patriote Party became more extreme in its demands, such as creating the 92 Resolutions, which was sent to London in 1834. The Resolutions were ignored for three years, during which time members of the Patriotes began to push for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Your older brother, Illumi informed you that Killua, your beloved younger brother, ran away from home and will be taking the Hunter exam this year. You scanned your surrounding, trying to at least find either Killua or Illumi to no avail. After a bit of searching, you spy a young kid with fluffy white hair accepting a can of juice from applicant #16. Killua. You wasted no time and dash right over to him, glomping him, totally ignoring #16 who attempt to hand you a can of juice also. Killua it s been so long! You exclaim, still hugging him. Killua struggle to get out of your embrace, until he recognize your voice. N nee san..? He ask, surprised to see you again at the Hunter exam. You slowly let go of Killua, and rub his head. • 4. President Andrew Jackson In regards to the overall effect a single president has had in the course of US history, President Andrew Jackson should be taken into consideration. Though his morals and personality have long been critiqued and scrutinized, Jackson s presidency had an indisputable effect upon the power of the president as an individual. Jackson s profound influence upon the office of presidency was exemplified within his fiscal, social, and political interventions in American politics during the mid nineteenth century. President Andrew Jackson changed the office of presidency through his continuous actions, which served to diminish the power of the federal government thus increasing both his political and economic agendas. The economic policies Jackson enacted demonstrated his distrust of both large government and Northeastern power brokers. Due to his hatred for big government, Jackson detested the Bank of the United States. Jackson ensured that the Second Bank of the United States (BUS) failed by vetoing Congress s attempt to recharter it in ..... In addition Jackson also secured its decrepit state by withdrawing federal funds from the bank, which he later would deposit in his pet banks. Although his hatred for the bank invoked controversy there were many that shared his economic beliefs. In Doc 4 this is exemplified as Jackson is portrayed is the hero slaying the hydra headed monster. Iran Essay Iran and the IAEA s Earlier Attempts Following the discovery of the undeclared construction of a large underground nuclear related facility in Natanz and the existence of highly enriched uranium in 2002, the Iranian nuclear crisis began in full force. The following summer, the then director of the IAEA, Mohamed ElBaradei, presented a report to the IAEA Board of Governors in which failures and breaches of safeguards by Iran were cited without ambiguity and additional inspections were recommended (Mousavin 66). Despite this, ElBaradei refused to say the Iran was in noncompliance with its safeguards (Brown 174). In February 2006, Iran was referred to the S.C. by the IAEA Board of Governors and in June, China, Russia and the U.S. joined the E3 to form the P5+1. In response, Iran announced that they would resume uranium enrichment activities and end implementation of the Additional Protocol ( Iran 1). Before advancing further, it is necessary to analyze the events of 2003 2005 to understand the role of the IAEA during this period and why such broad international assistance was needed to achieve the slightest of results. After receiving the Board of Director s resolution of September 2003, Iran immediately questioned its authority as it was outside of the Safeguards Agreements and Additional Protocol. Iran believed the resolution and request for cooperation had no legal base and would be accepted not as an international obligation but as a gesture of goodwill and a confidence building measure (Mousavin 74). It was not until Iran was threatened with referral to the S.C. under Article XII, Paragraph C of the IAEA statute that they began to comply. Iran was not prepared to handle the consequences of a referral, which would threaten the country with isolation (Mousavin 76). In addition, suspicion of Iran had spread from the Western countries to Russia, China, and its Middle Eastern neighbors. It was only after immense ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Middle Ages Dbq Essay The middle ages are a topic that most people know of as the Dark Ages but mainly because no one could identify what really happened during this time period. This was a period of learning and innovation. Great things like religion, democracies were spread and created. That is why the Dark Ages weren t so dark, like every person makes them out to be! One of the biggest questions out there is, why are the Middle Ages known as the Dark Ages in the first place? Evidence from Document A: A Dictionary Entry for the Dark Ages suggest that no one knew right away what happened in the Middle Ages, that is why it became known as the Dark Ages. From then on once it got its name historians and researchers automatically got a negative connotation about the Middle Ages. They thought there was no learning or innovation taking place during this period, just because of negative meaning it gained. • 7. The Eighth Sin In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales The Eighth Sin Of the Seven Deadly Sins, there are powerful arguments for each one being more deadly or worse than the others. However, there is an Eighth that is inherently the worst sin. Each of the Seven Sins are socially acceptable in small doses. For example, it is not a sin to be proud of something you ve made or to mad at a situation or to even simply want what someone else has. All that becomes sin, however, when it is blown out of moderation, and when you go out of your way to amplify the feelings and act on them, like becoming so proud you actively try to destroy others works or become so wanting you steal, take, or destroy others property. This Eighth Sin, though, is not like this. You cannot simply act it out in moderation, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This action can also be projected onto other people, deliberately causing them to become more depressed and losing hope. To actively make yourself and others around you lose will and heart is to kill yourself and others not only possibly physically, but spiritually. It is the eighth sin and quite possibly the worst sin because it affects not only you, but primarily those around you. Integrating despondence into Canterbury Tales would simply be another tale told by one of the pilgrims. This tale could be about a desponder whose sin catches up to him or her after his or her regular hopeless attitude and projection of it onto others causes a catastrophic event with them negative results on those around them. The moral of the tale about despond would be simply stated, though sometimes difficult to do; this moral would be to support others and do your best to instill them with confidence, to keep their spirits and their hopes up. We can learn through helping others not just physically but emotionally, we help ourselves just the same. Staying despondent creates a cycle of hopelessness and depression that may never be broken, and the cycle has no positive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Schuylkill County Prison in Pennsylvania was sued for not feeding their inmates enough to feed a child (Santo Iaboni, 2015). Some prisons, and private companies, generally go by a calorie minimum that must be provided, which sometimes allow for prisoners to only get two meals a day, these meals can cost as low as 56 cents per meal, and supposedly these menus are being reviewed by a nutritionist (Santo Iaboni, 2015). Well capitalized banks qualified for, among other things, lower premiums assessed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Undercapitalized banks (e.g., below the 8% minimum required total capital) received a warning from the FDIC; continued violation of capital requirements triggered further regulatory costs, including intervention or (in the extreme) takeover by government regulators. 2、(2) Using Citigroup as an example, estimate the major calculations underlying its 2007 Tier 1 Capital ratio.

During a break given to her by her teacher she found her group of girls she always talked to. They started to have small talk and to make jokes. The chuckles of young school girls could be heard throughout the entire class room. One of the girls made a comment that shifted the conversation. Who do you live with? asked one of the girls to Phylicia. I live with my mom and stepdad answered Phylicia, Who do you live with? she asked in return. One of the other girls chimed in Oh I live with my mom, with a casual sound to her voice. The next girl answered the question I live with my mom and step dad, with a similar nonchalant tone to her voice. The last girl answered I live with my mom and dad. They sat there staring at her like a Martian. The concept of having both parents still together was as alien as anything could have been to my wife, Phylicia, and her friends. All of the girls were confused by the response. They didn t understand what she was saying and one asked No, who do you live with? Your mom and stepdad or your dad and step mom? Her friend replied, No, I live with my mom and my dad. As in they re married and we all live together. They couldn t believe it. He carefully led his horse down a path within the evergreen forest of black rock, covered with pine trees, but also with oak and elder trees. He has been around this path many times before and maybe even too much as the curious souls began to wonder why a boy of such a noble status would wander in the deep forest of black rock. Not a lot of people spent time in forests, at least not too far away from the main rocky road, made for horses, merchandises, and peasants on foot. People would not wander too far in the forest, because of the obvious fear of wild animals, especially during winter. But they were also avoiding another threat. And that threat was a human threat also known as Willem the Druid, who was a feared and at the same time a much venerated man because of his knowledge of medicine and herbs. He was also rumored to know magic, and this was perhaps what made him such a dreadful person. But Ayland had this thing about him; which was that he feared no one since he was also certain that he was to become King, one day. This assertion was not born out of a pretentious, motherly molded dream, but by the fact that he was an ambitious and great risk taker. Qualities he would share with his mother. Ayland, got down from his horse, tied it up and walked pass a small house, which should have been the Druid s house. There was a strong smell of brewing rosemary herbs and the small ... MTV was the first station to exclusively play music videos, hitting the airwaves on August 1st, 1981. The first music video to be played on the channel was the Buggles Video Killed the Radio Star, as music is constantly changing the focus would shift from music to fashion and famous people doing idiotic things. The original idea was for the station was to play music videos twenty four hours a day, every day. This has obviously changed since then, but the innovative concept created a whole new kind of pop star. Pop music changed throughout the 80s and thaks to MTV there was a massive shift in interest to not only the music the artist was producing but also to the imag eof the artist themselves. A Brief History of Antibiotics, Antibiotic Resistance, and Antibiotic Alternatives Antibiotic Resistance and Alternatives Antibiotics have been commonly, though mistakenly, thought of as the ultimate cure, for almost all illness, for over half a century now. However, the intended use of antibiotics is for the treatment of bacterial infections and diseases. Viruses or fungi related illnesses will not be affected by antibiotics. This misunderstanding of the use of antibiotics has led to overuse, or the misuse, of antibiotics, in a wide range of countries worldwide. As a result of overuse, misuse, and abuse, antibiotics, once hailed as the savior of mankind, are an increasing threat as bacteria grow ever stronger. (Bunyard) The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... aureus was one of the first publicized bacteria known to have become resistant to penicillin. (Ed. Bonomo and Ed. (Bunyard) S. aureus caused serious illnesses, such as pneumonia, endocarditis, osteomylitis, and toxic shock syndrome. (Ed. Bonomo and Ed. Tolmasky) The clinical impact of this resistance was staggering; this harmful pathogen had once again become untreatable. Since the 1940 s, antibiotic production has increased rapidly. By 1946, in one hospital, 14% of the strains isolated from patients had gained such resistance. In 1949, the U.S. produced penicillin and streptomycin at the rate of 6.5 tons per month. (Bunyard) In the early 1950 s, nearly 60% of the strains isolated from patients had gained resistance. (Bunyard) By 1954, the rate of production of broad spectrum antibiotics had tripled to 220 tons a year. Today, the quantity produced in the U.S. alone is 18,000 tons a year, nearly half of which is used in the intensive rearing of animals as growth promoters and for controlling disease on the farm, which itself is largely a product of closely confined livestock. Is Markt at risk and liable to NeemMiracle with respect to Trade Mark infringement, passing off, misleading or deceptive conduct? No Trade Mark infringement for two reasons; a) The mark or get up being used by Markt only similar in colour and not necessarily name, the word neem may be argued to be descriptive. and b) NeemMiracle has not registered the trademark in either Australia or New Zealand. There may be a case for passing off under common law and/or misleading and deceptive conduct under S 18 ACL . Many people have know someone with cancer, yet even those who haven t have been bombarded with constant reminders of its terrible threat. Although cancer is often referred to as a single condition, it actually consists of more than 100 different diseases, all characterized by the uncontrolled growth, reproduction, and spread of abnormal body cells. All of these diseases are individually unique, yet the basic processes that produce cancers are very similar (Ruddon, 1995). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Proto oncogenes induce cell growth and reproduction, while tumor suppressor genes inhibit it. Together, they carefully control the proliferation of cells. However, if a proto oncogene is mutated, it can become a carcinogenic oncogene, driving excessive multiplication. Tumor suppressor genes, on the other hand, contribute to cancer when they are inactivated by mutation (Ruddon, 1995). Luckily, cancerous tumors are not caused by one little mutation in one cell they are caused by multiple mutations in a number of the cell s growth controlling genes. The number of mutations necessary can be as low as two or quite high, depending on the specific type of cancer. Generally, these mutations occur either from mistakes during cell reproduction, or due to DNA damage caused by carcinogens such as tobacco, certain poisons, and UV rays. So, why don t we all get cancer from these things right away? Consider that one of your cells is damaged by poison and becomes mutated. In order for this cell to turn into a cancer cell, the rest of the necessary mutations must also occur in this very same cell. This in itself, is fairly unlikely. It normally takes decades for an incipient tumor to collect all the mutations required for it s malignant growth, which explains why the average age for cancer diagnosis is 67 (Ruddon, 1995). Adult figures are essential to a growing child because they exemplify decision making, wisdom, and overall life lessons on how to grow up. Furthermore, new indications for the use of allopurinol in cardiovascular diseases have been approved over the course of recent years.5 Allopurinol is the most common cause of SJS in some countries like Europe and Israel. In 2008, it was documented that 59% of female patients were exposed to allopurinol.1Although SJS is very rare but the death rate was significantly higher in patients recently exposed to allopurinol (18 of 56, 32%) than among patients not exposed to allopurinol (59 of 313, 18.8%).1 The US FDA has received a total 23 cases of severe drug reactions to allopurinol over the period 2002 2009.3 Recently, HLA B*5801 allele has been associated with severe cutaneous drug reactions in Han Chinese.3 In 2009, Pharmacogenetics Genomics found a huge association between HLA B*5801 allele and allopurinol associated Stevens Johnson s syndrome by 80 97 times compared to those without the gene.4 Risk factors: HLA B*58:01 allele has been found to be a huge risk factor for allopurinol induced Steven s Johnson Syndrome.4 Elderly women with renal dysfunction is indicated to be a risk factor for allopurinol induced Steven s Johnson Syndrome.4 The strength of allopurinol has been noted tto be a risk factor. The daily dose of 200 mg or greater has been associated with a higher risk of developing this hypersensitivity reactions. Pathophysiology/Mechanism of toxicity: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
