Here are a few key points to consider in evaluating whether climbing is "worth it":
- Risk vs reward. Climbing large mountains carries significant risk of injury or death. One must weigh whether the potential rewards of achievement, experience, etc. outweigh those risks. Risk tolerance is personal.
- Preparation. Proper training, equipment, guides/support can help manage but not eliminate risk. Lack of preparation increases dangers. Careful planning is important.
- Impact on others. Consider how one's potential death or injury might affect family, friends. Having affairs in order and making sure dependents are provided for is important.
- Personal meaning. For some, climbing represents an important personal challenge or life

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

2. Symbolism Of The Boy In Mccarthy Mccarthy
In a ruined post apocalyptic world, it seems they only have each other. The man and the boy, each with
a desire to protect one another. The boy is all the man has and the man is all the boy has. The boy is
very intelligent and mature for his age it is quite surprising, it seems to me as if the boy holds the mind
of an adult. The way he carries himself and handles the situations he encounters, he does not act like
most kids his age. He has lived in some very harsh conditions, and still only manages to put others
first before him. Like the characters whose house he stayed in or even those who tried to hurt him. But

The ending is written is past tense and things are spoken in a way that signifies no return. I am very
hopeful that the boy will have the ability to start over and recreate a new life for him with his new
family. His ability to make the best of every situation is what makes me believe without a doubt he is
going to live a happy healthy life. Throughout the novel the relationship with the man and the boy just
goes to show their endless love for one another and how they would be nothing without one another,
them being together is the only thing that allows the to remain hopeful through their journey. And that
is exactly why hope is the main trait that surrounds the novel. Through all the depression and tough
times they still are able to remain hopeful. The boy being so young and he is endowed with
exceptional qualities and abilities, and a very prominent attribute to the book is morality. And the
author uses the novel to show the little things in life that make life meaningful. And the boy in the
road represents a new type of person, embarking on his journey to live in a new world. His traits
represent a child prodigy something we do not see much in the world we live

The effort to complete a successful change in behavior is known as behavior modification. The whole
definition of the term as discovered by psychologist B.F Skinner for the best way to understand
behavior is to look at the causes of an action and its consequences. He called this approach operant
conditioning(McLeod). The name which went on to be distinguishable from the term classical
conditioning which is commonly referenced to the study of Pavlov s dog. Behavior
modification/operant condition is drastically different from this in that the have several techniques
both positive and negative to insure a positive change in condition. Does this always work? The
experiment and the results are proof in case for each individual study . B.F Skinner first showed us
operant conditioning through the use of animals (rats/pigeons) to show how the effects of
positive/negative reinforces as techniques help the progression of a modification in behavior (also
known as operant conditioning). Which do you suppose is more effective a positive reinforcement or a
negative reinforcement in operant conditioning? B.F Skinner developed three different type of
responses to signify the importance of his study ; Neutral Operants, Reinforcers, and Punishers
(McLeod). They are defined as below: Netural Operants responses from the environment that neither
increase or decrease the probability of a behavior being repeated.(McLeod) Reinforcers there are two
types: positive and negative.

The Chronicles of Narnia are veritably the most popular writings of C.S. Lewis. They are known as
children s fantasy literature, and have found favor in older students and adults alike, even many
Christian theologians enjoy these stories from Lewis; for there are many spiritual truths that one can
gleam from them, if familiar with the Bible. However, having said this, it is noteworthy to say that
Lewis did not scribe these Chronicles for allegorical didactics of the Christian faith, but wrote them in
such a well knit fashion that young readers might understand Christian doctrine through captivating
fantasy and thus gain an appreciation for it. With this in mind, and in the interest of this assignment,

This temptation of power is very like the story of Jesus being tempted by Satan in the desert. Satan,
like the Witch, tempts Jesus with power in exchange for service (Matt 4:8 9). In addition to yielding to
these various temptations, Edmund also agrees not to reveal his knowledge of the Witch to his siblings
and consequentially ends up lying to them about his discovery of Narnia. By doing this, Edmund
fulfills the antithesis of New Testament virtues of a good Christian in face of temptation. Lewis
artfully interlaces these Biblical themes of temptation into the character of Edmund. However,
Edmund s character is allegorical to the Biblical character of Judas, the betrayer. Edmund betrays his
siblings and the Beavers by going to seek the White Witch. All he could think about were his earthly
desires and wants Turkish Delight, and the thought of being a prince. Comparing a mere child to
Judas, however, is a very serious allegory for a children s novel. So, Lewis creates the idea of the
Witch giving Edmund enchanted Turkish Delight. By making Edmund s cravings for Turkish Delight
the fault of the Witch and not his own, Lewis alleviates some of the force of Edmund s offense. Once
again, taking biblical imagery and softening it to appeal to a young audience; and in the end of course,

13. Research Paper On Abrahamic Religions
The Abrahamic religions refer to the three monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam,
all of which claim the prophet Abraham as their forefather. These religions account for more than half
of the world s total population today. All Abrahamic religions claim to worship only one god and that
God is their creator, ruler and judge. Christianity has a fundamental belief that follows the Trinity
doctrine and this contradicts the Jewish, Islamic and other monotheistic religions.
Judaism believes that there is only one God named Yahweh who was creator of all. The Masoretic
Text is foundation of all the various sects of the Hebrew religion.
Eventually Judaism evolved into the Christian Church with different beliefs and religious practices.
With Jesus Christ as their central figure who is recognized by almost all of the Christian

14. The Benefits Of College After College
After graduating, college is one of the biggest decisions in a person s life, and debt is just an extra
item that comes along with it. 66% of students from state funded colleges leave school with debt, and
75% of students at private colleges leave with debt. Those percentages are extremely high, and I do
not want to have too much debt when I leave school. One great way to help pay debts is to take a
break year and work full time, for working for a year in between highschool and college is great for
students. Working full time before colleges gives students the chance to make money, and it provides
more financial stability throughout college. Working full time also allows students to learn many
skills, and provides good experience in the workplace. Relationships can also be earned by working
before college, and relationships with different companies through internships and working for them
help obtaining a job after school. Entering school right after graduating can be effective, but working
is far more beneficial for students. College debt is a massive problem with many students, but working
full time for a year can help eliminate the debts. After highschool graduation, many students are going
straight into college, and they do not have any funds to support them. These students need money for
simple things such as food, but they did not work, and for that reason they cannot afford even the
simplest of things. Throughout college, money is one of the most important things a

Essentially, America s best option is to participate in foreign affairs around the world. America has
already been established as a major world power due to having the most powerful military.
Globalization results in ever growing connections between different countries, including the U.S.
Furthermore, politics have also become nearly entirely global, placing America in the role of
leadership due to its influence on other countries. How much the U.S. engages in foreign issues is
relative to the security and relationships of the U.S. From history, we can deduce that isolationism and
completely retracting from foreign affairs is not a good option. When America recedes from

The Battle of Pearl Harbor Cause and Effects
On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, at 7:55 AM the Japanese Empire led a surprise attack on the
US Naval base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, that would leave millions of Americans in shock, and
heartbroken. Before the attack, the United States kept a low profile on International affairs, and
concentrated on the domestic affairs at hand. This tragic moment in American history forever

In 1940, the United States was extremely against this animosity and reacted with trade embargoes and
monetary approvals. FDR had talked with the Dutch and the British to see if they would agree upon
embargoes on Japan. Franklin Delano Roosevelt did not want a conflict in the pacific as the United
States was not prepared for war. For instance, the oil embargo that was organized between the British,
the Dutch, and the United States was about 90% of Japan s imported oil. [3] This upset Japan because
without oil or fuel their military and war efforts would come to a complete stop.
Beginning of the year in 1941, FDR decided that the Pacific Fleet would move to Hawaii from San
Diego in the hopes of discouraging the invasion of the Japanese. Negotiations between Washington
and Tokyo had been going on for several months without a resolution. On July 2, 1941, the Imperial
High Command was tired of negotiations with the United States and needed to proceed with their
development within Asia even with the embargo in place and meaning it would be at a high risk of
war with the US. [4] Therefore, the Japanese had deceived the United States, ignored the arbitration,
and moved forward with their plans. The United States had hoped that this restrictive embargo would
halt Japan s assault as negotiations had continued well into November.

A Study on Factors Linked to IPV
Understanding the reasons behind domestic violence can bring about predictors and help provide
solutions for future education and deterrence. Intimate partner violence is not a one dimensional
subject, most often, a victim is not being abused by a partner out of just emotional outbursts there are
many more factors that come into play when it comes to domestic violence. Abramsky et al.,
interviewed a total of 24,097 women from 10 different countries using standardized questionnaires the
countries of Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Japan, Namibia, Peru, Republic of Tanzania, Samoa, Serbia,
Montenegro and Thailand. The questions asked were in regards to IPV with the women s past and
present partners, whether they experienced specific violent acts, and if so whether this had happened
in the 12 months preceding the survey (Abramsky et al., 2011). The women s answers were compared

During the time leading up to July 4th, 1776, the colonies were ruled by King George III. Tyranny
took hold of the colonies until Thomas Jefferson created The Declaration of Independence. In this
document Jefferson stated numerous grievances against the king and depicted those hardships that the
colonies experienced under his rule. Historians have come to debate whether these accusations were
true or exaggerated. Many historical events demonstrate how these grievances had a negative effect on
the colonies. Many of the colonies felt that laws were passed to benefit King George III without
considering the needs of the colonies. One of the grievances noted, He has kept among us, in times of
peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures. This grievance is supported by factual
events that occurred during the 1700 s. After the French War, King George III did not withdraw
soldiers from the colonies. On March 24th, 1765, Parliament passed the Quartering Act. This required
the colonies to pay or find shelter for the British Soldiers. Many of the colonies did not support this
law and refused to take part. This act was passed without the input and approval of the colonies. This
is demonstrated by New York s refusal to comply with the newly passed law due to feeling as though
they were forced. This negatively affected the colonist because soldiers were taking over their homes
and eating all the food. Due to noncooperation Parliament passed the New York Restraining

The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimoore Cooper is one of the most acclaimed and best selling

The Last of the Mohicans is viewed as the first popular book that portrayed Native Americans in a
more positive manner rather than as crude savages who were resolutely determined on killing the

We shall not dwell on the revolting horrors that succeeded. Death was everywhere, and in his most
terrific and disgusting aspects. Resistance only served to inflame the murderers, who inflicted their
furious blows long after their victims were beyond the power of their resentment. The flow of blood
might be likened to the outbreak of a torrent; and, as the natives became heated and maddened by the
sight, many among them even kneeled to the earth, and drank freely, exultingly, hellishly, of the
crimson tide. This was about the reaction of the start of the Massacre of William Henry. This was
alarmingly violent and seems to show the very opposite of what Cooper is praised for. The
aforementioned tribes were cruel and very confrontational but I doubt that these people were
cannibals1. This is evidence of wanton racial stereotyping, as this was commonly accepted at that
period of time, this was proven by the fact that there was no problem of killing or enslaving
minorities. If Cooper had written this book today, he would be barraged with lawsuits from multiple
sides and would be viewed as a bigot with a worse reputation than some terrorists and sex offenders.
This is because we, in this day and age, live in a state of political correctness where anything that
seems to insinuate anything negative about a race is considered narrow mindedness. Another
characterization that I found interestingly perplexing was that of Chingachook and Uncas. In this

Satrapi s graphic novel, Persepolis, depicts the coming of age story of Marjane and her experiences

23. Natural Sweetener Vs Natural Sugar
Artificial Sweetener vs. Natural Sugar
Is there anything SWEET about artificial sugar? Well, over the years there have been many different
kinds of sweeteners that have been tested in labs to see how they affect our bodies. The first big
artificial sweetener first got discovered in 1897, when a John Hopkins University researcher
accidentally forgot to wash his hands before lunch after doing tests in a lab. He tasted something
sweet on his finger, and that was the start of Saccharin. Today, many people use sweeteners like
Splenda, Sweet N Low, Equal, and Truvia to sweeten their food and drinks.
To begin with, natural sugar is a kind of sugar that is naturally in food and cannot be made or put into
them. For example, this kind of sugar can be found in fruit as fructose and dairy products such as milk
and cheese as lactose. Also, according to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Foods with
natural sugar have an important role in the diet of cancer patients and anyone trying to prevent cancer
because they provide essential nutrients that keep the body healthy and help prevent disease. Then,
eating natural organic sugar doesn t just keep you healthier, but it also helps the environment
protection and the reduce of pollution by not using more chemicals to grow plants. Therefore, Natural
Sugar is used for not just making our bodies healthy but for making the environment healthy too.

If violence was to take place between two intimate women in a lesbian relationship, the violence
would seem to be nothing more than a cat fight. It would not be surprising for the majority to ask what
harm could really be done by two women. The violence that exists between women in a lesbian
relationship is in deliberate opposition to the traditional female/feminine gender role stereotype deeply
entrenched in the society. This stereotype combined with the belief that women are naturally weak and
lack stature and strength to inflict any serious harm to each other calls for the dismissal of any serious
violence between two intimate women (Walters, 2011). Currently, there is a consensus in statistics
regarding the rate of lesbian intimate partner violence. However, it is thought that the occurrence of
lesbian intimate partner violence is comparable to the heterosexual domestic violence rates. Studies
conducted in the past indicated that between 41 percent and 68 percent of all lesbians have at one

Bishop Disapproves Same Gender Couples Adoption Rights in Czech Republic
In response to a change in the Czech Republic s law now affirming the rights of LGB people adopting

Conference stated:
The model of the family, constituted by a man and a woman, has been proved over thousands of years
and shown by numerous expert studies to serve a child s physical and psychological needs best,
according to an article on The Tablet.
In June of 2016, the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic struck down the law that kept LGB
people in same gender partnerships from adopting children. The Czech Republic, where Catholicism
is the dominant religion, has seen slow change from their landmark decision in 2006 that created a
registered partnership class for same gender couples. Registered partnerships are similar to marriages
but with less rights, such as until recently not having the right to adopt children. The previous law,
however, allowed LGB people not in registered partnerships to adopt and only restricted those in
registered partnerships. The court s June decision allows one member of a registered partnership to
adopt but does not yet allow both partners to hold joint custody.

This can be seen through a comparison of parallel protagonists Palamon and Ferdinand, as well as
parallel antagonists Arcite and Caliban. Their many similarities reveal an insight to each author s view
of love and how it is gained. Palamon and Ferdinand are men of the heart who do not have the girl
initially, nor do they claim her. Instead, they wish the best for her and are willing to work for and serve
her, regardless of the outcome. In contrast, Arcite and Caliban are men of the physical who take the
woman they love by force and physically serve her in order to fulfill their prideful desires, completely
disregarding the wishes of their beloved. Strikingly, all four of these men are of noble birth, and all
four willingly lower themselves from a position of power to a position of service in order to gain a
woman s love; however, only the men who also serve her selflessly succeed in winning her love. Both
men of the heart end up getting the girl in the metaphorical sense, although it takes time and they must

represented a potent example for Western Europe and the United States of what could be achieved

Child labour during this period was a serious problem children as young as 4 were expected to work in
factories in dangerous conditions with low pay. Working conditions were not only problematic for
children, but also for adults, illustrated by Engels, who argues that the industrial epoch had created
filth, ruin and uninhabitableness, the defiance of all considerations of cleanliness, ventilation, and
health highlighting the unsanitary and unsafe surroundings. However, the government attempted to
solve this problem with the Factory Acts of 1833. Housing also became a problem as many poor
people lived in tiny houses, with extremely bad sanitation, which in turn led to tuberculosis, cholera,
typhoid and lung disease. However, while this is true, in the context of the time, the workers and
middle class did benefit greatly from the Industrial Revolution in some way, as wages increased and
widespread poverty and constant threat of mass starvation...lessened, [and] overall health and material
conditions of the populace clearly improved . Therefore it is clear that Britain was different in social
terms as a result of the Industrial Revolution to Europe due to urbanisation, more jobs, a population
increase and better health care.

31. The Five Keys Of Concept Of Social Justice
Five keys of concept of social justice:
Meaning: This theory is complex, to understand human behavior and their environment, social and
emotional functions, this is part of social worker, ability to function and adapt the transaction in
nature. The theory is based on strength and empowerment. This helps to reduce people s need and
problems, however, it makes them to active participants in shaping their own reality, and how they fit
within or are excluded from societies in ways that both undermine their self esteem or reduce their
income. The concept highlights how exchange workers deal with experiences that will assist
individuals with social problems, poverty, struggles, discrimination. However, these programs also

According to the article J 1 workers often discover the cultural experience they invested in does not
exist. They are frequently placed in low paying jobs with little or no opportunity for cultural
exchange. Students and J 1 exchange workers reported to SPLC that their experience is dominated by
the work without the opportunity to enjoy American culture, it was clear this cultural exchange
requirement often exists only on paper. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) code of
ethics, helped to incorporate policy within social justice and a guideline for every ethical decision
making. However, the program did not talk about the tools to use in administrating, implementing

SERVICE: The concept of services has an approach for solving complex tasks in a collaborative
manner. A service is a nameable entity which is responsible for providing the information or
performing actions with specific characteristics. Service is independent and need a framework,
discovery and transport and execution. In other terms service is defined as a business firms that works
for a customer which provides goods and services but does not involve in manufacturing of those
goods. The major retail industries providing their services in USA are Walmart, Target, Sears and
Dollar General . WALMART: Walmart is world s largest retailer and the second largest company
which is found by Sam Walton in 1962 in state of Arkansan. Where it offers different kind of products
and services along with general merchandise and restaurants with discounts. The major competitors of
the Walmart are Target, Dollar General and Sears. By 1993 sears (K Mart) are the direct competitor
55% and 23% from target (Divya Mishra, 2011). Competitive priorities: Low cost: it has lower
operating than other competitors. The primary cost advantage is superior distribution quality. High
Volume: Walmart s prices are low by industry standard, combined with its lower costs, which aims
growth in volume by increasing market share. The other competitive priorities of Walmart are 1)
Convenient pricing and locations, 2) Diversity in products and services, 3) It maintains the quality of
the products as well as in

33. Evolution Of Collaborative Management Of Forest Management
considering. As senior experts at the Center for International Forestry (CIFOR), Colfer and her
colleague, Byron, argue that traditional forest management was a system rural communities use in
upland farming to show ownership of uplands fields, prohibitions and regulations about land and other
resource use, and to settle disputes over natural resources. Similar to the traditional forest
management, the agroforestry management system is used by the communities in Benuaq Dayak to
recognize forest successional stages (Colfer Byron, 2001). The authors argument is based on a study
conducted among the Benuaq Dayak community of East Kalimantan, Indonesia. This study provides a

2.6 The impacts of the Civil War on forest management in Liberia
The fourteen years of civil war in Liberia results in a class of marginalized young people who
currently lack trust in their government or any kind of institutions for that matter (Richards, Archibald,
Bruce et al., 2005). These young people, who make up more than half of the population in the country,
believe that the administrative justice has failed them. As a result, these young people preferred to take
chances with various rebel groups during the civil war (2005). In order to erase these beliefs, a study
suggested that a new peacebuilding approach is necessary. This new approach, authors argue, is an
inclusive Community driven Development (CDD). Richards and his colleagues (2005) also argue that
this process is capable of playing a crucial role in shaping different kinds of societies, provided those
societies incorporate marginalized and socially excluded populations in the rebuilding process. This
new approach calls for equal participation of all interested parties in the distribution and management
of states natural resources. No study reinforces this better than chapter nine of Colfer Byron

2.1 Styling using Convolutional Neural Networks
The initial work on style transferring using convolutional neural networks was brought forth by Leon
Gatys, Alexander Ecker and Matthias Bethge [1] in which style representations were extracted from
images. This involved superimposing the style image onto the content image such that the semantic
details of the content image were not lost as shown in Figure 1 [1].

Becattini et al [2] provide a thorough survey of neural style transfer literature. It highlights the
contemporary problems of the existing models and also discusses future scope. It also presents various
evaluation techniques to contrast outputs obtained through different neural style transfer methods. A
broad classification of neural methods into descriptive and generative neural methods where the
former is used to transfer styles by updating pixel information in the images whereas the latter
optimizes a model and generates an image with varying styles in a single pass. Figure 3 provides a
visually contrasting stylized image when a content image is stylized using both the mentioned
methods.

The paper improves upon the existing methods mentioned above while being intent on process
architecture preservation but improves on the performances by tweaking environmental parameters
such as loss function modification, emphasizing on spatial arrangements to style details. Extensions to
existing transfer methods which were developed for simple images were discussed, this included style
transferring for doodles, head portraits, single user specified objects and video frames. The parameters
mentioned in the paper were also broadly classified

35. The Walking Dead Psychology
The Walking Dead is a horror/drama television series based on the comics written by Robert Kirkman.
This is a show about the rest of the world trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. But, is there more
to this series than just the blood, gore, and death? Yes, it seems there truly is more to this series. The
Walking Dead is about many things including: family, friendship, love, forgiveness, and learning who
to trust, it s not just filled with horror as some may believe. Rick, one of the main characters, quickly
learns that he has been betrayed by his own wife and best friend. This is where the plot thickens and
the true meanings in this show start to come into play, but first let s take a few steps back. After

All they have is each other, and they are being forced to watch their loved ones be ripped apart by
these monsters. They have no time to grieve because the family they just lost is now one of them, a
flesh eating zombie. Here comes the blood and gore, or from a different angle, love and respect for
their family. What do they do now that the one they ve lost has turned into a zombie? They must kill
them of course. Some see an act to keep themselves alive, and I absolutely agree, but a true fan can
put themselves in their shoes and realize that they only want the best for their family. To keep them
from being this horrible creature they must kill them, and they do it out of love. By doing this they get
the chance to grieve and give this person a proper burial, well as proper as it can be in this life. This
family keeps going no matter what. They lose people, but they also meet new people. At times, they
find this shocking to learn they are not the only people left. It seems like if you found another living
person in this world you would be thrilled, but surprisingly some people aren t. This group has had

Marketing Challenges in a New Economy There is a new trend in today s economy that does not
involve large chain suppliers, retailers or wholesalers. This new trend involves companies that allow
owners to rent out their physical assets to increase their income. This new business practice puts the
producer directly in contact with the consumer to conduct business. This new trend in the consumer
marketplace is known as the share economy. This paper will discuss how this new concept of the share
economy has had an effect on the traditional economy and whether the shared economy is creating
new value for the consumer or if it is just replacing existing business. The share economy concept

74). In the example of Airbnb and other share economy companies the transparency of the costs of
goods is straight forward due to no hidden costs and the transaction taking place directly between the
buyer and seller and no intermediaries. The impact of this visibility also has an effect on companies
that are not part of the share economy. The visibility of prices makes for a more competitive market.
Non share economy companies face the possibility of having to lower their prices to match share
economy companies.
The share economy concept is creating new value for consumers and also replacing existing
businesses. The ability for consumers to rent tools, bicycles, homes or other physical assets versus
buying these items at higher prices, then renting creates a better value for the consumer. This ability
also creates the fallback for existing businesses because they may not be able to compete with the
pricing that the share economy concept can offer. Existing businesses use different pricing strategies
due to the nature of their business and overhead costs, whereas companies that do not have to consider
these elements in their pricing strategy and can offer lower prices.
The new concept of share economy has both positive and negative impacts for the overall
marketplace. There is potential for consumers to get a great deal and for individuals to

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder where the affected feel the need to check
things often and repeatedly, perform specific routines over and over, or have specific thoughts
repeatedly. Sufferers are unable to control either their actions or thoughts when certain tasks are being
performed. Common actions include randomly counting things as if it was meaningful, checking to
see if doors are locked, and hand washing. Some people may have trouble throwing things away, or
getting rid of old trash. These actions occur to such severity that the sufferer s daily life is negatively

people do certain things over and over again, they do not necessarily perform these actions
compulsively. For example, bedtime routines, learning a new skill, and religious practices are not
compulsions. Whether or not behaviors are compulsions or mere habit depends on the context in
which the behaviors are performed. For example, arranging and ordering DVDs for eight hours a day
would be expected of one who works in a video store, but would seem abnormal in other situations. In
other words, habits tend to bring efficiency to one s life, while compulsions tend to disrupt

Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays in China. Chinese New Year is one of the
most important because it helps bring the family together. Chinese New Year is more different than
any other New Year because it has a more traditional celebration, and lands on a different day, unlike
the regular New Year. Chinese New Year helps bring the Chinese culture together to help make bonds
with people that they have not seen in a long time.
The Chinese rely a lot on the Chinese calendar to determine the day of Chinese New Year. The
calendar was created in 1582 by the Georgian calendar. The Chinese calendar determines the phrases

The Views on Teens Pregnancies Through the Years
There are many different attributes to teenage pregnancy. The majority of teenagers do not realize the
consequences of their actions. Taking that into consideration the influences of the teens are highly
important during the pre teen stage all the way to adult hood. During the time of this impressionable
stage many of the teens are having sex not because of love, but because it is a trend. The media is
glamorizing teen pregnancy and leading to a cultural shift. Around the world teenage pregnancy has
been an issue. Many of the teen mothers are between 15 and 19. There have been a variety of attempts
to provide a decline in teenage pregnancy such as: abstinence groups, the Federal Government, ...

Not only does the media influence young women, but their home life has huge impact too. Most
children learn by watching an adult around them and there is their influence. Therefore the media is
not the only one to blame for teenage pregnancy. There are many people and things that can be
blamed, however, there is a root to the problem. Not only is it teenage pregnancy impacting teens; but
it impacts everyone around them. In the United States taxpayers pay around $11 billion on teen
pregnancies a year because of someone else s mistake( Editorial: Brings Blessings). In America there
are many births in a year affecting many people around the nation. Since 1996 abstinence programs
have collected over $1 billion in federal funding. Many people blame the abstinence programs for
higher birth rates. People believe that teens should have sex education in order to protect them from
teen pregnancy(Gulli 40). There goes more money from the government toward teenage pregnancy. It
is believed that abstinence programs are not the solution to preventing teen pregnancy, however,
people would like too see more sex education being taught to young impressionable kids. This show
that the Christian view of abstinence is not the popular solution that people choose, but being educated
and being taught about sex is a better approach. In todays society there has been a cultural shift in
beliefs and morals. Many girls are having sex simply because of the words I love

40. 209 Complex Number System
Task #3: SUBDOMAIN 209.3 PRECALCULUS
Competency 209.3.1: Complex Number System
Jennifer Moore
Western Governor s University
Complex does not mean complicated (Math is Fun, 2014). Complex means a combination of numbers.
These combinations of numbers that form a complex number consists of real numbers and imaginary
numbers. The complex number system is an extension of the real number system because it introduces
the imaginary number system to the real number system. The complex number system can be
visualized in two dimensions and the numbers within the system can be plotted using a Cartesian
plane. However, the axes are not exactly the same as a traditional Cartesian plane (x axis and y axis).
To plot the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The real number system consists of five subsets of numbers (Blitzer, 2013). The first subset is natural
numbers; natural numbers consist of positive counting numbers not including zero. The second subset
is whole numbers; whole numbers consist of zero and natural numbers. The third subset is integers;
integers are positive and negative whole numbers, as well as zero. The fourth subset is rational
numbers; rational numbers are numbers that can be written in fraction form. The fifth and last subset
is irrational numbers; irrational numbers are numbers that are not a perfect square, do not have a
repeating or terminating decimal, and are not included in the whole numbers subset (Blitzer, 2013).
Rational and irrational numbers are often the most difficult to understand out of these 5 subsets of real
numbers. Simply put, rational numbers are any numbers that can be re written as a simple fraction,
and if a number cannot be defined as rational then it is defined as irrational. For example, the number
7 is a rational number because it can be re written as , which is a simple fraction. The number 2.5 is
also defined as rational because it can be re written as , which, again, is a simple fraction. However, if
the number π were defined, it would have to be irrational since it has neither a repeating decimal nor a
terminating decimal, and cannot be written as a simple fraction.
