have the opportunity when I was young and then the business required much of my attention to ensure
it strive and continue to grow in this competitive, complex environment. I ve taken the approach of
lifetime learning to better prepare myself for the challenges that lies ahead. Studying Bachelor of
Business Administration will make me become a better leader in broadening my horizon by
constructing and deconstructing my views, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors through extensive research

It would be important to monitor the progress of each term and then taking a balance and variety
approach in selecting the set of courses for the following term by balancing the new with the old;
required courses and elective courses. Exploring the curriculum with a balance approach will allow

Eyewitness Misidentification In The Criminal Justice System
Introduction
Since the development of DNA evidence, More than 300 people have been exonerated in the United
states alone, since 1989 as a result of eyewitness misidentification (Hsu, cited in Wixted et al, 2015).
Consequently, The Innocence Project was founded in 1992 to assist those individuals who have been
wrongfully convicted. The organization claims that over 70% of overturned cases are the result of
eyewitness misidentification (Innocenceproject.org, n.d.). Whilst this is American data, it illuminates
the tragedy that can emanate from such an unreliable element of the justice system. This essay will
argue that eyewitness identification

For the small police agency with work force constraints, a method called the folder shuffle can be
utilized to effectively blind the administrator. Lineup composition
Fillers (the non suspects included in a lineup) should resemble the eyewitness description of the
perpetrator. Further, the suspect should look similar to the fillers (for example, he should not be the
only member of his race in the lineup, or the only one with facial hair). Eyewitnesses should also not
view more than one identification procedure with the same suspect. Instructions:
The person viewing the lineup should be told that the perpetrator may or may not be in the lineup and
that the investigation will continue regardless of the lineup result. This reduces the pressure on the
witness of feeling like they have to pick a perpetrator. The witness should also be told not to look to
the administrator for guidance. Confidence

Low Fuel Cost
Prior to the decline of fuel prices, I had always thought there was not enough being done here in
American to contribute to the production of oil. Until now, fuel prices were astronomical. Americans
were having to plan out their route and car pool due to excessive prices. Unnecessary trips was not an
option.
In 2012, gas reached more than $3.50 per gallon. Today, gas averages have remained around $2.50.
What I found most compelling about the pros is with every penny decline, a billion dollars is returned
to customers. It is completely astonishing that one cent can have such an enormous impact. Because of
the production of oil in America, low fuel cost have allowed Americans to save money and take much
needed vacations. Whether traveling by vehicle or plane, we are all much happier when we get behind
the wheels of our vehicles or on a plan due to low fuel costs. On average, households are saving over
$700 per year and even more if there are multiple vehicles. Americans were long overdue ... Show

States such as Alaska and North Dakota are negatively affected by the cost of low fuel. Being huge oil
producing states, a prolonged decrease in oil prices can have a heavy duty affect resulting in more
layoffs, which brings me to the point that not every individual benefit from low fuel prices. When the
cost of fuel is low, as it has been the last couple of years, more individuals who work in the oil and gas
industry will continue to lose their jobs. With more than 100, 000 out of work, low fuel prices are not
doing our unemployment rate any favors. Even though fracking has contributed to the increase in
production of oil in the United States, many believe it has greatly contributed to the significant
increase in earthquakes. Despite the fact that has not been proven, if one looks at the logistics of
fracking, it is quite obvious there must be a relationship between the

To What Extent Did The New Deal Dbq Essay
In 1929, the stock market crashed and soon after that The Great Depression started. It was the deepest
and longest lasting economic fall in history. In 1932, Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted to help the people
and make a difference. Problems in the Great Depression that Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted to change
was the fact that people didn t have any jobs, and that people didn t have any money because of a bank
failure. Some fiscal policy programs that franklin did to combat The Great Depression were Works
Progress Administration (WPA), and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The Great
Depression caused many people to be unemployed, and many people to be broke because of the banks
and government, and the programs that help the people include Work Progress Administration (WPA)
and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
One problem that America experienced as a result of The Great Depression was that people were
unemployed. This means that many people lost their jobs, and they were unable to find any work. In
document B the graph shows that in 1929, the unemployment rate decreased, it went from being 1
million, to being about 13 million unemployed in 1933. This is explaining how drastically the
unemployment rate dropped in that time period. Unemployment impacted the U.S by not having

There is large scope for miscommunication of the information or communication gap due to the higher
human interference in the system. This miscommunication may lead to wrong allocation of the track

showing that 80% of worst collisions occurred so far is due to either human error or incorrect decision
making through miscommunication in signaling and its implementation.
The real time viewing of actual current positions of the trains at various locations is Possible with the

The Philippine Philippines Culture And Culture Essay
The Philippines is a country deeply rooted in culture. The Army defines culture as a dynamic social
system containing the values, beliefs, behaviors, and the norms of a specific group, organization or
society or other collectively learned, shared, internalized, and changeable by all members of the
society (FM 3 24 COUNTERINSURGENCY, 2006). Cultures have different characteristics which
consist of shared, learned, symbols, integrated and dynamic. Culture
The Philippine islands are broken into three main geographical locations, Luzon, Visayas and
Mindanao travelers from all three locations share the culture by moving from one place to another or
just by visiting family or friends that have moved, culture is also shared by the schools or institutions
that foreigners attend in the Philippines. The Philippine eagle is the national bird, which is a symbol of
the Philippines. Learning the culture come from being raised within the community which is a part of
one s upbringing or living amongst a community in order to learn their culture. Integrated culture
deals with learning a culture in its entirety and understanding every portion of that particular culture
comes together. The dynamic characteristic explains how a culture change due to interactions with
other cultures and when one piece of a culture change, if integrated the culture could change
altogether. Physical Geography and Weather Analysis

Analysis Microsoft has a strong culture whereby all the employees perceive in the same beliefs and
norms of innovation. Ahmed amp; Shepherd (2010) asserted that the value of strong cultures carries
beliefs and assumptions that the organisation is able to facilitate behaviours according to
organizational principles. The success from Microsoft is due to the careful management of the
organisation culture. They facilitate the employees to feel comfortable working in the organisation.
Therefore, it enhances the creativity of the employees themselves. In addition, according to competing

The characteristic of adhocracy organisation is they are trying to be the leader of the market.
Microsoft is indeed the leader for software market. Another thing is adhocracy organisation tends to

Using One-Stage Cluster Sampling
In cluster sampling, instead of selecting all the subjects from the entire population right off, the
researcher must take several steps in order to gather his or her sample population.
First, the researcher must select various groups or clusters, and then from each cluster, the researcher
begins to choose the individual subjects by either simple random or systematic random sampling. The
researcher can even opt to include the entire cluster and not just a subset from it depending on the
design study they have chosen.
For my particular study, I have chosen to use a simple random control trial, which is pretty common
for the testing of behavioral sciences. I have also chosen to use one stage cluster sample, this sample
includes all of the children with PTSD and severe forms of trauma that were picked from all the
randomly selected clusters in the sample set. I did this to keep my internal validity high and avoid
selection bias, as well as minimizing any other form of bias and threats to internal validity by

Summary Of Lizabeth In Marigolds
Closely observing a character gives the readers a chance to truly understand them , their thoughts and
their points points of views. The actions that Lizabeth takes are things that need to be closely
examined to comprehend the complexity of Lizabeth s behaviors. Lizabeth, the protagonist from the
short story Marigolds by Eugenia Collier portrays unique characteristics such as being resilient,
addled and compassionate. Collier provides an ample amount of evidence that shows Lizabeth is full
of resilience. Lizabeth grew up in a life full of poverty and had conflicts arising in almost each
moment, one problem after another. Lizabeth remembers her childhood as being Sorrowful

the rest of her small community had to find a way to overcome all the conflicts that they found
themselves in by being resilient and not giving up. To overcome all these hardships, Lizabeth gained a
grand quality, resilience. Lizabeth states, Poverty was the cage in which we all were trapped, and our

In addition, it can be considered as a low end disruption technology as they reduced the price of music
sales by introducing the iTunes store. Moreover, when considering Apple s iPod product chain, it can
be said that they introduced products that cover low end disruption and are also sustaining
innovations.
Even though there were many companies involved in the DAP market before and after iPod was
introduced, Apple still holds more than 70% of the DAP market share and they are the largest music
store in major countries such as USA, Japan and Canada. Therefore, it can be argued that the iPod is
not a sustaining technology but a disruptive technology.

US and Japanese Strategy in the Battle of Iwo Jima Essay
U.S. Strategy
The American forces plan consisted of a divide and conquer methodology. The U.S. focused on
landing its assault force expediently and quickly and securing Mt. Suribachi and dominant high

the 3rd, 4th and 5th Marine Divisions. The 4th and 5th Marine Divisions were to land on the eastern

In June of 1944, Lieutenant General Kuribayashi arrived on Iwo Jima to find discover a rivalry

Killer Whales Orcinus Orca
Introduction
Killer whales, Orcinus orca, are mammals, that are part of the Cetacea order, the Odontoceti suborder
and the Delphinidae family (Ketten, 1997). They evolved from land creatures, requiring a multitude of
adaptations so that the transition to water was successful. They live in all oceans, but are most
commonly found in cool, temperate waters (Strager, 1994).
Communication between killer whales is primarily used for reproduction, orientation and hunting
(Erbe, 2002; Holt et al, 2009). The three sounds that killer whales produce are echolocation clicks,
whistles and pulsed calls (Deecke et al, 2005). Clicks occur in a series and are short sounds used for
orientation and when finding prey; whistles are used for communication when ... Show more content

This partly because the frequency ranges of boats and whales can overlap (Holt et al, 2009). If whale
individuals are unable to communicate with other members of their pod, there would be less cohesion

have also been cases where boat motors have impaired the whales to even detect their prey (Barrett
Lennard et al, 1996). These anthropogenic, background sounds are thought to interfere with
communication between individuals by masking the whale s calls, particularly if at specific threshold
level (Foote et al, 2004). Ways that whales have been shown to adapt include changing the amplitude
and duration of calls (Foote et al, 2004; Holt et al, 2009). As the background sounds increased by one

Comparing Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est and Crane s Do Not Weep, Maiden, For War Is Kind
Both Stephen Crane s Do Not Weep, Maiden, For War Is Kind and Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum
Est use vivid images, diction rich with connotation, similes, and metaphors to portray the irony
between the idealized glory of war and the lurid reality of war. However, by looking at the different
ways these elements are used in each poem, it is clear that the speakers in the two poems are soldiers
who come from opposite ends of the spectrum of military ranks. One speaker is an officer and the
other is a foot soldier. Each of the speakers/soldiers is dealing with the repercussions from his own
realities of the horror of war based on his duty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most vivid and shocking image used is when the speaker internally addresses the child and tells
him that his father tumbled in the yellow trenches, / Raged at his breast, gulped and died (13 14). This
is not something one would tell a child, especially when consoling him. The use of the word trenches,
which could be metaphors for graves, contributes to the implicit theme of a funeral setting. This
contradiction between verbally comforting family members and internally giving them detailed
descriptions of their loved one s death, shows the speaker s struggle with the idea that families and
others typically hear the glossed over story of the nobility of soldiers and the glory of war. This
speaker is battling with his military duty of consoling the family members and with his conscience
wanting to open their eyes to the fact that these men die gruesome and painful deaths.
The second and fourth stanzas particularly support the theory that the officer is at the funeral of a
lower ranking soldier whom he led into battle. In the second and fourth stanzas, the officer is
reviewing his own thoughts during the time of the battle; this is an indication that he is struggling with
the decisions he has made. At the beginning of the second stanza, he uses an image of the Hoarse,

Essay On If I Were President
If I Were President
Introduction
Raising NASA s budget could change the future for the entire population of Earth. If I were to be
president, I would bump up NASA s finances to help them find more planets in outer space. More
money would allow NASA to try to find new species that have never been seen before. Also, if a new
planet is found that could inhabit humans and other species, then maybe we could send criminals
there. Then here on Earth, we would have a more peaceful life. NASA needs more money that can
help pay for more useful and newer technology to find another planet. Bringing up NASA s budget
could lead to marvelous studies and programs. For example, we would be able to find new species that

Sending Criminals to A Different Planet
The second switch I would make would be to lift up NASA s funds to discover other planets where we
could send criminals. Thus, by doing this it could make our nation more peaceful. By sending
criminals away to a different planet we would not need jails. This could lead to more housing,
playgrounds, even a place for more buildings to help get jobs to unemployed people. Additionally, we
could send people to another planet if they intend to do crummy and sinful things to people and
animals. If we are able to get all malicious people off of Earth, then we would not have to worry about
being hurt by the stranger next to us. Living our lives without worrying about being hurt or killed
could change the way people live their lives. This would be an effective change that I would make if I
were to be President.
New Planet Found
Above all, the third adjustment that would happen if NASA s budget was raised, would result in
making newer and more efficient technology to help them find a new planet. Recently, at NASA s

While planets had been found before, they are all at least 40 percent larger in size than Earth and
understanding their makeup is challenging. The new planet orbits its star once every 130 days and can

Boeing Aircraft? The answer is most decidedly yes. In many people s eyes this affair could have
violated the company s code of conduct, and went against the reason Harry Stonecipher was hired. His
actions showed flaws in his character that could have been damaging to the company had he been
allowed to stay. The Boeing board of directors had no other choice than to tender Mr. Stonecipher s
resignation.
It was stated in an article in the March 2008 Tribune Business News that, Although the relationship

Stoneciphers infraction?
Mr. Stonecipher was hired to clean up Boeing, and to keep the company out of the ethical spotlight. It
was therefore his duty to live by the standards he enforced. If he was unable to do that, then he should
have stepped down as CEO before this extra marital affair was brought to light. Hypocrisy is no way
to lead a company. It will only cause dissension among peers and employees.
Senior leaders of a company are the moral rocks that the company bases its values on. If a leader
demonstrates strong moral values and a desire to do what is considered right by the majority of his
employees his attitude will, after a time become infectious. The majority of his employees will begin
to emulate his actions, and begin to modify their values to meet his. This would result in increased
productivity and a more pleasant work environment. At the same time, if that same leader were to
demonstrate questionable values and a do as I say not as I do attitude the same thing would occur. The
majority of his employees would begin to lower their moral values and the overall productivity of the
company would suffer.
Although Mr. Stonecipher was unable to live up to his duties of keeping Boeing out of the ethical
spotlight and setting the standard for his employees to follow, the Boeing board of directors did just
that. By requiring Mr. Stonecipher to tender his resignation they

The board had about 90% of English speaking workers and only had a small amount of French
workers who converted the films into French for the francophone. Back then, French films were
known as foreign films due to production being mostly English. Many French filmmakers were hired
to increase the number of French films and have a French production branch. Around the 1940 s and
1950 s, filmmakers toured the country giving the chance to other communities who did not have
access to films, be able to view them. The filmmakers had a specific name for their team called
travelling projectionists . In 1967, the Canadian film development corporation signed an agreement to
promote the development of the film industry. The company began making educational films in 1960,
for the change in society and for schools to show the students different views from around the world.
During the late 1960 s, First Nations people were given access to NFB equipment to start producing
their own films. Women made great contributions during the war years in the film industry but after
that, they weren t used for much until early 1970 s. Due to the company being well invested and

Argumentative Essay On Propaganda
By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an
extremely wretched life as paradise (Adolf Hitler). Long before the term Propaganda came to be, the
act of controlling the public s mindsets and opinions was still being practiced ever since mankind
came to be. People with ideas want to influence their beliefs on others. Propaganda goes way back to
the early times. In 1622, Pope Gregory XIII settled De Propaganda Fide which translates to the
Congregation for Propagating the Faith, which was a committee of cardinals of the Roman Catholic
Church. The De Propaganda Fide was intended to disperse Catholicism into Christian beliefs.
Propaganda remained a religious term throughout the 18th and part of the 19th century. Propaganda
began as ideologies inculcated by the Catholic Church. The people were persuaded by their faith
rather than on the reason. In 1939, Propaganda was the seed that rooted World War II. Truth is, World
War II was not just a battle between countries but a battle after people s minds. Propaganda has the
power to change people s opinions through art. Nowadays, persuasive techniques are used in almost
every fast food restaurant ads. The amount of Propaganda one is exposed to on a daily basis is bizarre.
It is a beautiful terrible tool that can blindfold many into believing whatever is being told to them by
persuasion. According to Merriam Webster s dictionary, propaganda is Ideas, facts, or

The Arguments Of Athanasius And Arius At The Council Of...
Critically evaluate the arguments of Athanasius and Arius at the Council of Nicaea
The Patristic Era saw various controversies arising over the nature of Jesus Christ, which consequently
lead to the establishment of the creed as an attempt to reject the heretical views held by proponents.
An example of a heretical advocate is Arius, who suggested Christ was inferior to God, but still above
other creatures (McGrath, 2001, p.358). However, early orthodox theologians disputed this idea due to
the soteriological complications that accompanied it (Young, 2010, p.55). The central advocator of this
dispute was Athanasius, who questioned how Arius belief allowed for salvation through Jesus Christ,
which is a key orthodox belief identified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This heretical view is further fought against through Athanasius extensive focus on Jesus death and the
implications that this had on humanity as told by the Bible (Young, 2010, p.55); Romans (10:9)
explicitly states Jesus is the Lord and the only route to salvation. So it can be argued, if Jesus is not
God, as Arius suggests, then it is not possible for humanity to reach salvation, which results in
diminishment of the purpose of Christian faith. Thus, it is acceptable to assume that the Nicene Creed
s assertion of the homoousious relationship of God and Jesus, as a rejection of Arianism, was essential
to early Christian theology because it provided certainty for the establishment of the faith.
Although the consubstantial nature of Jesus and God was confirmed at Nicaea, it wasn t definitively
defined because Arians responded with another heretical view: Jesus and God were homoiousious.
The belief that God and Jesus were only similar in nature allowed for subordinationism to manifest,
which was a heresy that asserted God the Father was superior to Jesus and the Holy Spirit (Williams,
2001, p.133). So this belief accepts the Trinity but has misinterpreted the orthodox declaration of the
idea. Arius told of the unequal glories amongst each distinct being within the Trinity (Williams, 2001,
p.102). This was scorned by Athanasius who knew of the homoousious relationship through scripture
(Colossians 2:9), which is how God expresses

The Seven Main Ideas Of The Declaration Of Independence
The Declaration of Independence states that people have the right to revolt when the government fails
to protect the people s rights. The government s job is to protect everyone s natural rights. Cinque lost
all of his rights when as several men took him forcibly from his home and put him on a ship. Cinque
and the Africans became imprisoned and treaty horribly on the ships. Because the government failed
to protect their rights, Cinque had the right to revolt. The Declaration states the seven main ideas that
Americans think that government should follow. Americans believe in the idea that everyone is born
with specific rights that no government can confiscate from them. This idea is called the Law of
Nature. The rights in the Law of Nature are called Natural Rights. The three rights included in the Law
of Nature are life, liberty, and property. When people willingly chose to abandon the state of nature
and come to terms with the ideas of government, they give their consent. They willingly surrender
some of their freedoms. In return, they receive protection and safety from the government. When
everyone gives their consent, a legitimate government can be created. The State of Nature does not
provide safety. To gain safety, people create a social contract. They establish a new government. That
government will protect the people by enforcing the rules, and the people promise to follow these
laws. The people established the government by giving their consent,

Attack on the World Trade Center
Tuesday, September 11, 2001, began as a normal peaceful morning in the largest city in the United
States. New York City was just as busy as usual, all the hustle and bustle of the people headed to their
jobs, all the traffic going in and out of the World Trade Center. Millions of the people were in morning
rush hour on their way from their homes to work. The World Trade Center was a symbol of U.S.
power and financial strength, but that was about to change. A few minutes after 9:00 a.m., the sky was
not sunny and clear as it had just been minutes before. There was smoke, dust, and debris everywhere.
Two jet airplanes, hijacked by religious terrorists, crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade
Center and blowup. The impact left a gasping, burning hole in both of the towers, killing hundreds of
people almost instantly and trapping thousands more in higher floors. The collision caused a gigantic
explosion that showered burning debris over surrounding buildings and the streets below. A third plane
hit the Pentagon just outside Washington D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
America was under attack. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and
Washington D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. This lead to millions of
people trapped with no way of escaping the twin towers. They knew they would not make it back
home to their friends and family members. Can you imagine the feeling of knowing your

The Women s Liberation Movement has helped women gain more respect, rights to her body, and
equality in the workplace. Every human, male or female should support the movement. As a result of
the movement, women have been gaining rights from feminism for over a thousand years. The
Feminist Movement officially started in Seneca Falls at the first Women s convention. Where they
fought for the right to vote, even though it took over 70 years for women to get the opportunity. The
people who participate in the movement fought for numerous rights for women, like voting, birth
control, and equality in the workplace(Simon). Without millions the of people supporting, Women
wouldn t be treated or have the same rights they do today. That s why it s still so important to support
feminism because if no one does all the hard work of the women in the past would go to waste. ...

an establish company and helps interns improve and develops their skills. I would recommend Santa
Fe Relocation Services to keep hiring interns with different educational background, to help build and
improve the company with the knowledge they gained from their studies. I also hope that Santa Fe
Relocation Services will not put a limited opportunity to intern trainee for learn different area in the
organization. In my opinion, Santa Fe Relocation Services can give an intern trainee to learn every
task that we can use it after the internship program. Afterward, I also hope that next coming internship
trainee will receive more appropriate training that can enhance the ability of fresh graduate which is
lake of experiences or knowledge. At this point, the duration of internship program was six month and
this is similar to the probationary period for any new worker in company. In these levels, as intern
trainee we kind of have the similarities like permanent worker but only we just not get the certificate

enough and I m glad to get the placement in Santa Fe Relocation Services because of a few reason
such as, the people of Santa Fe Relocation Services totally kind, did not underestimate any worker and

The Personal Effects Of Plastic Surgery
The Personal Effects of Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery dates back to somewhere around 2000 B.C. and has only advanced since that time.
Today people all over the world get these procedures done for many reasons. Some reasoning behind
individuals getting plastic surgery is to fix a birth defect, deformability, or for cosmetic purposes. In
today s society, getting plastic surgery for cosmetics purposes is very popular but with that comes
many negative comments or thoughts towards that person getting these surgeries. Cosmetic surgery
impact not just the person receiving it but everyone that sees those new features or changes. In the
world we now live in I think body image is a big factor in many people s lives. A lot of people do not
always feel comfortable in their own skin because of the different models and actresses or actors seen
on television. I think when we see those different people on television or on the internet, we think that
s how we should be able to look, this can make people have negative thoughts about their own body.
In all reality, most of those people we see on television, magazines and social networks; almost all of
those people have had some sort of plastic surgery to change their appearance. While these people
change themselves they can send thousands of dollars on just one procedure. When someone has had
over ten procedure done to themselves that dollar amount really starts to add up and that s just of the
negative effects of getting plastic surgery.

Importance Of Visit To A Shinto Church
I decided to write about my visit to a Shinto Church as my cultural experience. The church I visited is
called Izumo Taisha Mission of Hawaii. I had actually been to this church many times since I was a
child to participate in Japanese cultural events, but I have little knowledge of what the Shinto religion
actually practices. This is also the shrine where my family goes for our New Year s blessing ritual.
Since turning to Christianity, I still liked to attend the church s events and New Year s ritual, but other
than that, I just didn t have the desire to learn more about Shinto. Based on my fieldwork into the
appearance, clothing, and rituals of Shinto, I theorize that Shinto is religion to focuses highly on
keeping one s body and soul pure and in good fortune through worship to multiple God s.
When I visited the church, I had scheduled the meet the Bishop, Daiya Amano. He has been a friend
of my family for a long time, and he was happy to share the Shinto culture despite knowing I had
already chosen my belief. Shinto is one of the two primary religions of Japan, and the church is a good
place for tourist and local Japanese to pay their respects to. Shinto is a religion of polytheism and
animism, and thus, believes in God s of animate and inanimate objects. Shinto believes that every
aspect of life has a God in charge. There s a God of nature, weather, business, knowledge, war,
fishing, etc. Shinto practices a worship to these God s so that they may bring good fortune and

The influent sewage water is screened to remove all large objects carried in the sewage stream.[5]
This is most commonly done with an automated mechanically raked bar screen in modern plants

Ares 7 Reflection
E mail 1:
Today, me and my crew began our long journey to mars on mission Ares 7. After a year and a half of
astronaut training, and countless different classes, the time where we lift off and start this exciting new
chapter in our lives has finally come. Being able to be a part of such a momentous and historic
mission is the biggest privilege of my life time, and I can t find words to describe how deeply honored
I feel. The few minutes between the starting countdown and the spaceship leaving the earth s
atmosphere will forever be one of the tensest, most nerve wracking, and most cherished memories of
my life. A few seconds before liftoff, the main engines and boosters were ignited, initiating the process
where the liquid rocket engine pumps some of the stored fuel and oxidizer into a combustion chamber,
where they are burned, producing a huge amount of very, very hot and pressurized gas. This process
causes the whole spaceship to start shaking and rumbling, signifying in my mind that the mission was
really happening, and that there was no going back anymore. As the countdown got lower and lower, I
could feel the vibrations more and more throughout your body, and at T minus zero seconds, the hot
gas that was built up is passed through an exit nozzle and expelled out of the spaceship, accelerating
the gas, and generating an enormous amount of thrust.
For the initial moments of our ascent, most of that thrust is provided by the solid rocket boosters, who

Controlling guns is not a crime prevention strategy, it only prevents the those who are physically
weaker than their attackers like women, elderly, and disabled from defending themselves against
bigger, faster and stronger aggressors. Since crime and gun control are serious issues,I used a white
poster board for a simple background and red and black permanent markers to convey that
seriousness. Since the words crimes and criminals go to together and are central to my argument, I
made them both bold, in all caps, and in red so they are the most eye catching. Red is also associated

Mainstream Culture and Media after the World War II
After the Second World War, America experienced an economic boom, which has taken the country a
step further towards the ideal capitalistic society. In its early developmental stages, the capitalist mode
of production prolonged the Marxist discourse on constant class struggle as it was primarily criticized
in terms of social inequalities. During post war years, the initial focus of the discourse has shifted to
Frankfurt School criticism of culture industry, where the standardization and commodification of
cultural spheres became one of the major defects of the capitalistic system. The notion of class
struggle shifted as well, to the clash of high and low cultural forms. Also known as authentic
expression versus standardized product of cultural industry. Most recently, the discourse has gone
through another important metamorphosis that has made advertising industry and consumerism the
main forces, shaping hegemonic culture of mainstream media. The good old notion of the class
struggle is currently regarded as the battle between corporate businesses and rebel oppositional forces.
However, even though the subject matter of the Marxist struggle has changed through time, the very
quintessential nature of capitalistic mode of production remained unchanged, for it is profit driven and
turns all cultural spheres into mass marketed commodities. Within the domain of cultural industry, the
notions of authenticity and resistance become utopian, illusionary and fake; social

Ways that health advocates are attacking the accessibility factor include state and local bans on SSBs

this kind of legislation is in New York. In 2012 it was proposed that all SSBs sold must be in a
container no larger than 16 ounces in food service establishments. To attack the affordability factor of
SSBs, the most common plan is to add a tax on all SSBs. So far no city or state has passed a tax large
enough to considerably change the demand for these beverages. A large tax has not yet been passed
because of the uncertainty of how it will affect the health of the economy. Taxing SSBs may have
unforeseen consequences in that they may to switch to other, untaxed, calorie dense food and

This Is A Passive Vitalism Because It Accounts For The
This is a passive vitalism because it accounts for the distinct as well as for the continuum but without

what is given in potential (virtual materiality) and what can become actual (concrete materiality).

What is being contested in the new posthuman turns to matter cited earlier is the Kantian idea that
there is a mute, inert and meaningless life upon which a human subject imposes his self originating
thought (systematizing and categorising). For education researchers, such as Snaza and Weaver,
agency is given to matter and a student is no longer a unique entity standing apart, but is now no more
than just one among the many different and mutually entangled unique organisms and things. There
are experiences happening all the time, all over the school, independent of humans. There are always
interactions between humans and nonhuman sentient beings and humans and non sentient objects,
such as computers, doors, playgrounds, hallways, utensils, trays, balls, windows, desks, and so on
(Snaza Weaver, 2014, p. 9).
The mutual co constitution of the organic and inorganic forms takes precedence while maintaining an
active and vital self constituting and self maintaining individual organism.
What such accounts of the mutually constitutive agential relationality between subjects and objects

Solving the Ritalin Riddle
Sadly, 75 out of 100 children who visit a psychiatrist s office for the very first time, leave with at least

way we reach and teach kids before we change our children through medication. Parents of children
whose behavior is regarded as difficult or out of control are encouraged to believe their child has a
disease . For many parents, it is more socially acceptable to give your child s behavior a diagnosis
rather than simply admitting their child behaves badly and along with the diagnosis, comes the offer
for treatment. Many children with this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Subjective check lists used to diagnosis ADD and ADHD within the school system is frighteningly
similar to the checklists used to determining Gifted and Talented children. Family physicians
themselves are under a great deal of pressure from teachers and social workers to prescribe
medications such as Ritalin for children who are demonstrating bad behavior or having a difficult time
of learning. Even though teachers and social workers are trained to notice and help correct issues, they

remains among social workers and teachers. Usually parents who are receiving assistance through the
government receive additional funding for children who have been diagnosed with ADD and ADHD.
Many low socio economic families or single parents often find it very difficult to refuse the added
income and additional assistance such as free babysitting if their child is labeled and diagnosed with a
disorder. Hearing that your child has ADD or ADHD is common place in today s society. Parents and

I ve taken the approach of lifetime learning to better prepare myself for the challenges that lies ahead. Eyewitness Misidentification In The Criminal Justice System Introduction Since the development of DNA evidence, More than 300 people have been exonerated in the United states alone, since 1989 as a result of eyewitness misidentification (Hsu, cited in Wixted et al, 2015). Consequently, The Innocence Project was founded in 1992 to assist those individuals who have been wrongfully convicted. The organization claims that over 70% of overturned cases are the result of eyewitness misidentification (Innocenceproject.org, n.d.). Whilst this is American data, it illuminates the tragedy that can emanate from such an unreliable element of the justice system. For the small police agency with work force constraints, a method called the folder shuffle can be utilized to effectively blind the administrator. Lineup composition Fillers (the non suspects included in a lineup) should resemble the eyewitness description of the perpetrator. Further, the suspect should look similar to the fillers (for example, he should not be the only member of his race in the lineup, or the only one with facial hair). Eyewitnesses should also not view more than one identification procedure with the same suspect. Until now, fuel prices were astronomical. Americans were having to plan out their route and car pool due to excessive prices. Unnecessary trips was not an option. In 2012, gas reached more than $3.50 per gallon. Today, gas averages have remained around $2.50. What I found most compelling about the pros is with every penny decline, a billion dollars is returned to customers. It is completely astonishing that one cent can have such an enormous impact. Because of the production of oil in America, low fuel cost have allowed Americans to save money and take much needed vacations. Whether traveling by vehicle or plane, we are all much happier when we get behind the wheels of our vehicles or on a plan due to low fuel costs. On average, households are saving over $700 per year and even more if there are multiple vehicles. Americans were long overdue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being huge oil producing states, a prolonged decrease in oil prices can have a heavy duty affect resulting in more layoffs, which brings me to the point that not every individual benefit from low fuel prices. When the cost of fuel is low, as it has been the last couple of years, more individuals who work in the oil and gas industry will continue to lose their jobs. With more than 100, 000 out of work, low fuel prices are not doing our unemployment rate any favors. Even though fracking has contributed to the increase in production of oil in the United States, many believe it has greatly contributed to the significant increase in earthquakes. Despite the fact that has not been proven, if one looks at the logistics of fracking, it is quite obvious there must be a relationship between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1932, Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted to help the people and make a difference. Problems in the Great Depression that Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted to change was the fact that people didn t have any jobs, and that people didn t have any money because of a bank failure. Comparing Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est and Crane s Do Not Weep, Maiden, For War Is Kind Both Stephen Crane s Do Not Weep, Maiden, For War Is Kind and Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est use vivid images, diction rich with connotation, similes, and metaphors to portray the irony between the idealized glory of war and the lurid reality of war. However, by looking at the different ways these elements are used in each poem, it is clear that the speakers in the two poems are soldiers who come from opposite ends of the spectrum of military ranks. One speaker is an officer and the other is a foot soldier. Each of the speakers/soldiers is dealing with the repercussions from his own realities of the horror of war based on his duty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most vivid and shocking image used is when the speaker internally addresses the child and tells him that his father tumbled in the yellow trenches, / Raged at his breast, gulped and died (13 14). This is not something one would tell a child, especially when consoling him. The use of the word trenches, which could be metaphors for graves, contributes to the implicit theme of a funeral setting. This contradiction between verbally comforting family members and internally giving them detailed descriptions of their loved one s death, shows the speaker s struggle with the idea that families and others typically hear the glossed over story of the nobility of soldiers and the glory of war. This speaker is battling with his military duty of consoling the family members and with his conscience wanting to open their eyes to the fact that these men die gruesome and painful deaths. The second and fourth stanzas particularly support the theory that the officer is at the funeral of a lower ranking soldier whom he led into battle. Long before the term Propaganda came to be, the act of controlling the public s mindsets and opinions was still being practiced ever since mankind came to be. People with ideas want to influence their beliefs on others. Propaganda goes way back to the early times. In 1622, Pope Gregory XIII settled De Propaganda Fide which translates to the Congregation for Propagating the Faith, which was a committee of cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church. The De Propaganda Fide was intended to disperse Catholicism into Christian beliefs. Propaganda remained a religious term throughout the 18th and part of the 19th century. Critically evaluate the arguments of Athanasius and Arius at the Council of Nicaea The Patristic Era saw various controversies arising over the nature of Jesus Christ, which consequently lead to the establishment of the creed as an attempt to reject the heretical views held by proponents. An example of a heretical advocate is Arius, who suggested Christ was inferior to God, but still above other creatures (McGrath, 2001, p.358). However, early orthodox theologians disputed this idea due to the soteriological complications that accompanied it (Young, 2010, p.55). The central advocator of this dispute was Athanasius, who questioned how Arius belief allowed for salvation through Jesus Christ, which is a key orthodox belief identified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This heretical view is further fought against through Athanasius extensive focus on Jesus death and the implications that this had on humanity as told by the Bible (Young, 2010, p.55); Romans (10:9) explicitly states Jesus is the Lord and the only route to salvation. So it can be argued, if Jesus is not God, as Arius suggests, then it is not possible for humanity to reach salvation, which results in diminishment of the purpose of Christian faith. Thus, it is acceptable to assume that the Nicene Creed s assertion of the homoousious relationship of God and Jesus, as a rejection of Arianism, was essential to early Christian theology because it provided certainty for the establishment of the faith. Although the consubstantial nature of Jesus and God was confirmed at Nicaea, it wasn t definitively defined because Arians responded with another heretical view: Jesus and God were homoiousious. The belief that God and Jesus were only similar in nature allowed for subordinationism to manifest, which was a heresy that asserted God the Father was superior to Jesus and the Holy Spirit (Williams, 2001, p.133). So this belief accepts the Trinity but has misinterpreted the orthodox declaration of the idea. The government s job is to protect everyone s natural rights. Cinque lost all of his rights when as several men took him forcibly from his home and put him on a ship. Cinque and the Africans became imprisoned and treaty horribly on the ships. Because the government failed to protect their rights, Cinque had the right to revolt. The Declaration states the seven main ideas that Americans think that government should follow. Americans believe in the idea that everyone is born with specific rights that no government can confiscate from them. This idea is called the Law of Nature. The rights in the Law of Nature are called Natural Rights. The three rights included in the Law of Nature are life, liberty, and property. When people willingly chose to abandon the state of nature and come to terms with the ideas of government, they give their consent. They willingly surrender some of their freedoms. In return, they receive protection and safety from the government. When everyone gives their consent, a legitimate government can be created. The State of Nature does not provide safety. To gain safety, people create a social contract. They establish a new government. That government will protect the people by enforcing the rules, and the people promise to follow these laws. • 27. Attack on the World Trade Center Tuesday, September 11, 2001, began as a normal peaceful morning in the largest city in the United States. New York City was just as busy as usual, all the hustle and bustle of the people headed to their jobs, all the traffic going in and out of the World Trade Center. Millions of the people were in morning rush hour on their way from their homes to work. The World Trade Center was a symbol of U.S. power and financial strength, but that was about to change. A few minutes after 9:00 a.m., the sky was not sunny and clear as it had just been minutes before. There was smoke, dust, and debris everywhere. Two jet airplanes, hijacked by religious terrorists, crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and blowup. The impact left a gasping, burning hole in both of the towers, killing hundreds of people almost instantly and trapping thousands more in higher floors. The collision caused a gigantic explosion that showered burning debris over surrounding buildings and the streets below. A third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. America was under attack. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. This lead to millions of people trapped with no way of escaping the twin towers. They knew they would not make it back home to their friends and family members. Being able to be a part of such a momentous and historic mission is the biggest privilege of my life time, and I can t find words to describe how deeply honored I feel. The few minutes between the starting countdown and the spaceship leaving the earth s atmosphere will forever be one of the tensest, most nerve wracking, and most cherished memories of my life. A few seconds before liftoff, the main engines and boosters were ignited, initiating the process where the liquid rocket engine pumps some of the stored fuel and oxidizer into a combustion chamber, where they are burned, producing a huge amount of very, very hot and pressurized gas. This process causes the whole spaceship to start shaking and rumbling, signifying in my mind that the mission was really happening, and that there was no going back anymore. As the countdown got lower and lower, I could feel the vibrations more and more throughout your body, and at T minus zero seconds, the hot gas that was built up is passed through an exit nozzle and expelled out of the spaceship, accelerating the gas, and generating an enormous amount of thrust. For the initial moments of our ascent, most of that thrust is provided by the solid rocket boosters, who helps accelerate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Controlling guns is not a crime prevention strategy, it only prevents the those who are physically weaker than their attackers like women, elderly, and disabled from defending themselves against bigger, faster and stronger aggressors. Since crime and gun control are serious issues,I used a white poster board for a simple background and red and black permanent markers to convey that seriousness. Since the words crimes and criminals go to together and are central to my argument, I made them both bold, in all caps, and in red so they are the most eye catching. • 39. Mainstream Culture and Media after the World War II After the Second World War, America experienced an economic boom, which has taken the country a step further towards the ideal capitalistic society. In its early developmental stages, the capitalist mode of production prolonged the Marxist discourse on constant class struggle as it was primarily criticized in terms of social inequalities. During post war years, the initial focus of the discourse has shifted to Frankfurt School criticism of culture industry, where the standardization and commodification of cultural spheres became one of the major defects of the capitalistic system. The notion of class struggle shifted as well, to the clash of high and low cultural forms. Also known as authentic expression versus standardized product of cultural industry. Most recently, the discourse has gone through another important metamorphosis that has made advertising industry and consumerism the main forces, shaping hegemonic culture of mainstream media. The good old notion of the class struggle is currently regarded as the battle between corporate businesses and rebel oppositional forces. However, even though the subject matter of the Marxist struggle has changed through time, the very quintessential nature of capitalistic mode of production remained unchanged, for it is profit driven and turns all cultural spheres into mass marketed commodities. What is being contested in the new posthuman turns to matter cited earlier is the Kantian idea that there is a mute, inert and meaningless life upon which a human subject imposes his self originating thought (systematizing and categorising). For education researchers, such as Snaza and Weaver, agency is given to matter and a student is no longer a unique entity standing apart, but is now no more than just one among the many different and mutually entangled unique organisms and things. There are experiences happening all the time, all over the school, independent of humans. There are always interactions between humans and nonhuman sentient beings and humans and non sentient objects, such as computers, doors, playgrounds, hallways, utensils, trays, balls, windows, desks, and so on (Snaza Weaver, 2014, p. 9).
