Building a fully managed stream processing platform on Flink at scale for Lin...Flink Forward
Apache Flink is a distributed stream processing framework that allows users to process and analyze data in real-time. At LinkedIn, we developed a fully managed stream processing platform on Flink running on K8s to power hundreds of stream processing pipelines in production. This platform is the backbone for other infra systems like Search, Espresso (internal document store) and feature management etc. We provide a rich authoring and testing environment which allows users to create, test, and deploy their streaming jobs in a self-serve fashion within minutes. Users can focus on their business logic, leaving the Flink platform to take care of management aspects such as split deployment, resource provisioning, auto-scaling, job monitoring, alerting, failure recovery and much more. In this talk, we will introduce the overall platform architecture, highlight the unique value propositions that it brings to stream processing at LinkedIn and share the experiences and lessons we have learned.
The SAP API Business Hub provides a central catalog for developers to search, discover, test, and consume APIs from SAP and its partners. It simplifies learning through documentation and sandbox API testing, and accelerates innovation by consolidating APIs in one place. Developers can access the API catalog, documentation, and sandbox testing environment through the SAP API Business Hub service on SAP HANA Cloud Platform.
The document is an industrial training report submitted by a student on Java programming language. It discusses the history of Java, introduces key Java concepts like the JDK, JRE, Java virtual machine. It also covers installing Java, setting environment variables, and validating the installation. IoT Sensor Analytics with Apache Kafka, KSQL, TensorFlow and MQTT => Kafka-Native End-to-End IoT Data Integration and Processing.
Large numbers of IoT devices lead to big data and the need for further processing and analysis. Apache Kafka is a highly scalable and distributed open source streaming platform, which can connect to MQTT and other IoT standards. Kafka ingests, stores, processes and forwards high volumes of data from thousands of IoT devices.
The rapidly expanding world of stream processing can be daunting, with new concepts such as various types of time semantics, windowed aggregates, changelogs, and programming frameworks to master. KSQL is the streaming SQL engine on top of Apache Kafka which simplifies all this and make stream processing available to everyone without the need to write source code.
This talk shows how to leverage Kafka and KSQL in an IoT sensor analytics scenario for predictive maintenance and integration with real time monitoring systems. A live demo shows how to embed and deploy Machine Learning models - built with frameworks like TensorFlow, DeepLearning4J or H2O - into mission-critical and scalable real time applications.

Monitor Apache Spark 3 on Kubernetes using Metrics and PluginsDatabricks
This talk will cover some practical aspects of Apache Spark monitoring, focusing on measuring Apache Spark running on cloud environments, and aiming to empower Apache Spark users with data-driven performance troubleshooting. Apache Spark metrics allow extracting important information on Apache Spark’s internal execution. In addition, Apache Spark 3 has introduced an improved plugin interface extending the metrics collection to third-party APIs. This is particularly useful when running Apache Spark on cloud environments as it allows measuring OS and container metrics like CPU usage, I/O, memory usage, network throughput, and also measuring metrics related to cloud filesystems access. Participants will learn how to make use of this type of instrumentation to build and run an Apache Spark performance dashboard, which complements the existing Spark WebUI for advanced monitoring and performance troubleshooting.

Muga Nishizawa discusses Embulk, an open-source bulk data loader. Embulk loads records from various sources to various targets in parallel using plugins. Treasure Data customers use Embulk to upload different file formats and data sources to their TD database. While Embulk is focused on bulk loading, TD also develops additional tools to generate Embulk configurations, manage loads over time, and scale Embulk using a MapReduce executor on Hadoop clusters for very large data loads.
Building a Feature Store around Dataframes and Apache SparkDatabricks
A Feature Store enables machine learning (ML) features to be registered, discovered, and used as part of ML pipelines, thus making it easier to transform and validate the training data that is fed into machine learning systems. Feature stores can also enable consistent engineering of features between training and inference, but to do so, they need a common data processing platform.
Some companies have to process data volumes that by far exceed the capacity of “small” database clusters and they definitely have a valid use case for one of the modern parallelizing / streaming / big data processing technologies. For all others, expressing transformations in plain SQL is just fine and PostgreSQL is the perfect workhorse for that purpose.
In this talk, I will go through some of our best practices for building fast, robust, and tested data integration pipelines inside PostgreSQL. I will explain many of our technical patterns, for example for schema management or for splitting large computations by chunking and table partitioning. And I will show how to apply standard software engineering techniques to maintain agility, consistency, and correctness.
