LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

These three readings offer some insight into how music is not only used as a means of entertainment,
but in other ways such as self expression and as a voice for the audience. In Julia Downes s journal
article (The expansion of punk rock: Riot Grrrl challenges to gender power relations in British indie
music subcultures) she discusses and explores how the punk feminist movement, Riot grrrl, provoked
young woman and girls to stand up and rebel against the norm of culture, such as how punk was a
male dominated genre. Hector Qirko agrees with this thesis as in his article, (Consumer authentication

Qirko studied this by looking at other people s works such as Machado and Frith and considered their

4. The Relationship Between Hospitality And Honor In Henry...
Part One: In Shakespeare s Henry IV, the relationship between hospitality and honor varies depending
on the person. Hotspur found no connection between the two. When Hotspur was asked about his
reasoning for not following the orders of King Henry to let the prisoners go, Hotspur responded, ...for
he made me mad, To see him shine so brisk, and smell so sweet, And talk so like a waiting
gentlewoman (Shakespeare 1.3. 53 55). The kind and gentle greeting of the messenger disgusted
Hotspur. He found no honorability in the hospitality of another individual. In the eyes of Hotspur,
honor was obtained through battle and strong acts for the kingdom. Therefore, honor is a beneficiary
of a lack of hospitality. In Shakespeare s The Tempest, honor and hospitality are internalized within
Miranda. While Prospero greets the incoming sailors with storms and difficult challenges with hopes
of returning to his kingdom, Miranda comes into the scenes to ask Prospero to bestow mercy on them
or to greet the individuals kindly. The honor she feels in relation to hospitality occurs when Miranda
talks to Prospero after she sees the ship stuck in Prospero s storm. Miranda says, O, I have suffered
with those that I saw suffer! A brave vessel, who had no doubt, some noble creature in her, dashed all
to pieces. O, the cry did knock against my very heart (Shakespeare 1.2. 5 9). Although she had not met
the people of the ship, Miranda s high regard for hospitality caused her to feel compassion and

Goal three by the National Patient Safety Goal for 2014 is to use medicines safely. Many errors occur

Researchers use concepts such as Photovoice to analyze and learn about children s perspectives and
view of their community. Photovoice is used often in fields such as Social Work as part of community
based research where participants are given cameras to document their environment for researchers to
analyze. Research by Alaca, Rocca, Maggi (2017) uses this method. The participants from their study

11. Nurse Patient Ratio And Patient Outcomes
Nurse Patient Ratio and Patient Outcomes
Nurse staffing have an effect on a variety of areas within nursing. Quality of care is usually affected.
Hospitals with low staffing tend to have higher incidence of poor patient outcomes. Martin, (2015)
wrote an article on how insufficient nursing staff increases workload and job dissatisfaction, which in
effect decreases total patient care over all. When nurse staffing is inadequate, the ability to practice
ethically becomes questionable. Time worked, overtime, and total hours per week have significant
effect on errors. When nurses works long hours, the more likely errors will be made. He also argued
that inadequate staffing not only affects their patients but also their loved ones, future and current
nursing staff, and the hospitals in which they are employed. An unrealistic workload may result in
chronic fatigue, poor sleep patterns, and absenteeism thus affecting the patients they take care of.
According to Martin (2015), California is the only state that stipulates that in law and regulations have
a required minimum nurse to patient ratios to be maintained at all times by unit. Nurses across the
United States are talking to their Senators to help them lobby bills that would help establish a
minimum nurse to patient staffing ratios for all hospitals in the country, among other improvements of
nursing rights. Nurses from around the country also visited Congressional Representatives on Capitol

Parenting is challenging in the best of times, but how do we teach our kids about the violence that
saturates the news and social media? How do we teach them about racism, prejudice, and
discrimination? Research from Harvard University recommends children as young as three years old,
when exposed to racism and discrimination tend to accept and mimic it, even though they might not
understand their feelings. By age five, white children are considerably biased towards whiteness. To
reverse this bias, experts suggest acknowledging and naming race and racism with children as early
and as often as possible (Burnett). Children s books are one of the most practical and helpful tools for
initiating these crucial conversations; they can also be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

16. Pin-Up Girl Research Paper
Introduction:
This report looks to demonstrate my capability in the area s of understanding personal and social
issues in society. The research project deals directly with these capabilities as it begs the thoughts
about women in society. It asks what women think about their own body but also, how society sees it.
I will demonstrate in all eras how women influenced by media and the relevant pin up girl of the time
tried to find their own identity closely linked to these role models. Such linkage being mainly through
fashion that enhanced the targeted body shapes To explore this I have asked myself to what extent did
the imagery of the desired female identity change over the 3 different time periods in European

To be caught in the wrong fashion at the wrong time of the day was as greatly to be feared as
addressing a member of society by the wrong title. At this time, large swept up hairstyles with loose
curls and fake hair were popular. The cosmetic beauty ideal was still the same pale, delicate, glowing
skin that was seen in the Victorian era. Contrary to our ideals today, gray hair was considered very
attractive because it made women appear softer and younger. The main body focus of this time was
the bosom as well as the childbearing hips, but still without any cleavage showing. The 19th century
was an era of rapid development and change during this period England changed from an agricultural
country to a city an industrialised one. This involved massive displacement and drastically altered the
nature of society. It took many years for both the government and the people to adjust to the new
conditions. From these new conditions came a changing impression of fashion, morals and media
towards people wanting to achieve the highest class in society available for them. Under the new
ruling of the influential Queen Victoria with its new society standers regarding women s morals, to

20. Reconstruction Of The United States
Schutz, Jackson CRN 36889 T/R 9:35 20 September 2015 Reconstructing the Unconstructable
Gunshots rang throughout American soil in the year 1861. The seven southern states seceded and
formed the Confederate States of America. The remaining northern states were known as the Union.
The central issue between the Union and the Confederacy was slavery which led to America s
bloodiest war, lasting four years and leaving roughly six hundred thousand people dead. The North
was victorious and the South s infrastructure was severely crippled. All slaves were set free and a
month before the official end to the war, Lincoln was assassinated, leaving Vice President Andrew
Johnson to take over the Presidency. The next task for America to tackle was the South s
reconstruction which would continue until 1877. Although reconstruction made the South go through
many changes leading to lots of progress, it also had some fallbacks from the resentment present in the
South. The 13th Amendment was passed saying, Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a
punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United
States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Upon the emancipation of all black slaves inside the
United States, children flocked to newly established schools made possible by missionaries, groups of
ex slaves, and even the Freedman s Bureau. Congress set up the Freedman s Bureau to aid black
former slaves in the South.

The paper is organized as follows: Firstly, we provide an overview of the literature on tacit knowledge
management and innovation management, thereby developing a conceptual framework. Then, based
on these classifications and by synthesizing all aspects, an integrated model is proposed. We close
with an outlook of further research opportunities and some managerial implications. 2 Knowledge
management in organizations
The ever increasing importance of knowledge in contemporary society calls for a shift in our thinking
concerning innovation in business organisations be it technical innovation, product or process
innovation, or strategic or organizational innovation. It raises questions about how organizations
process knowledge and, more importantly, how they create new knowledge. Innovation, which is a
key form of organisational knowledge creation, cannot be explained sufficiently in terms of
information processing or problem solving. Innovation can be better understood as a process in which
the organisation creates and defines problems and then actively develops new knowledge to solve
them (Nonaka 1994, p. 14). Davenport and Marchand suggest that: whilst knowledge management
does involve information management, beyond that it has two distinctive tasks: to facilitate the
creation of new knowledge and to manage the way people share and apply it (Davenport

23. In Search Of A Room Of One s Own By Virginia Woolf
Virginia Woolf sends a clear message to the reader by creating a complex collection of personas,
narrators, and perspectives in her essay, In Search of a Room of One s Own. In her essay, Woolf
elaborates on the dismissal and lack of recognition of female contributions to literature during the
Elizabethan era. The author states, For it is a perennial puzzle why no woman wrote a word of that
extraordinary literature when every other man, it seemed, was capable of song or sonnet (Woolf 520).
Woolf look[s] about the bookshelves and finds no evidence of female contributions to literature before
the eighteenth century (523). As a result, Woolf asks herself, why women did not write poetry in the
Elizabethan age (523). Thus, the message that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The creation of the character, Judith Shakespeare, William Shakespeare s fictitious sister, particularly
strengthens her message. By using this character, Woolf shows how unfair Judith would have been
treated because she was a female. Even though Judith was as wonderfully gifted as her brother, she
would not have gone to the grammar school and learned the elements of grammar and logic (Woolf
523). Instead, Judith would have stayed at home to cook or sew. Although, she could have scribbled
some pages up in an apple loft on the sly, but she had to be careful to hide them or set fire to them to
not be discovered (Woolf 523). As a result, Woolf strengthens her message that regardless of talent,
women s contributions were disregarded, as women and men were not believed to be on the same
level. However, this should not have been the case, as gender has nothing to do with talent. The fact
that women were put down and waved off because they were females is completely absurd. Women
should have been given the same opportunities as men; the playing field should have been more equal.
Women should have been able to go to grammar school and learn logic and grammar, and they should
not have had to hide or burn their pages. In this way, women could have made significant
contributions to literature during the Elizabethan era. Unfortunately, this did not occur.

In Austen s novels, the successful proposals indicate that the man asking a genuine question. This is
obvious in Darcy s second proposal to Elizabeth even though his speech does not contain a question

are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged, but one
word from you will silence me on this subject for ever (458). His speech indicates that he waits for
Elizabeth s answer. Similarly, in Emma, Mr. Knightley, as Darcy, asks Emma a genuine question if she
accepts his offer or not by saying, Tell me, then, have I no chance of ever succeeding?.... My dearest

Women s secret engagements are another way that demonstrates why the male characters keep their
engagements secret from society. For example, Edward in Sense and Sensibility is a wealthy man who

and he is afraid from his mom, Mrs. Ferrars, would not approve their marriage. As mentioned earlier,
women with no fortune have no rights to get married to men from the upper class. For the same
reason, in Emma, Mr. Frank Churchill engages secretly to Jane Fairfax because he depends on his aunt
s money, Mrs. Churchill. His aunt may refuse to approve his engagement to Jane because Jane is a
governess and belongs to a low social class, so it is difficult for Frank to reveal his engagement. He

The third question was regarding whether the student should remain in the general classroom; 41%
responded yes, 27% said it depended on certain factors, 26% said no, and 6% were unsure. The fourth
and final question was whether the learning disabled student in the general classroom presented the
teacher with more demands. Not surprising to me was the fact that 68% responded yes, 25%
responded no, and 7% were unsure. My personal interpretation of this survey in relation to the
mainstreaming situation is very direct. Many educators feel the learning disabled students are different
from the other students. They lack the skills to succeed, therefore the classroom needs to be adjusted
for them. Almost half of the educators felt the students could remain in the general classroom, while
about a quarter of them wanted the learning disabled removed and another quarter would allow the
student to remain if he met certain factors. Those teachers who did not want to conform and allow the
student to remain need to be presented with options for adapting their methods of academic
presentation, infiltration to peer discussion groups and evaluation procedures. References Kreinberg,

31. Bilingualism
What does it mean to be bilingual? Is it as simple as having the ability to speak two languages? Or
does it have a deeper meaning? Martin Espada and Richard Rodriguez have opposite views on the
concept of bilingualism. Espada feels Latinos have the right to speak Spanish anywhere, considering
language is intertwined with identity. Conversely, Rodriguez believes that to truly understand a
language, you must forget the language that is already known to feel accepted in society. These ideas,
similar to mine are not as simple as speaking two languages. To me the idea of bilingualism is
respecting the two languages that are spoken by having the courage to speak them anywhere, at
anytime. According to Martin Espada the idea of bilingualism is way deeper than just speaking two
languages. Being bilingual to Espada means that both the languages spoken are intertwined with
identity. This claim is constructed in his essay The New Bathroom Policy at English High School. He
informs us of what he has learned about bilingual people in America: I have never met a single person
who didn t want to learn English. What they want to do is retain their language, culture and identity
(Espada 164 167). English is a powerful language in America, the Latinos that reside there feel that
learning English could jeopardize their ability to speak Spanish. Moreover, Espada also uses an

The line between a friend and an enemy is thinner than one can ever imagine. In the words of Henry

than a companion, to pass the time with. They help us shape our life, and they re responsible to be that
little voice in our ear, to help us analyze our actions and views. Through Amir s relationships, The
Kite Runner shows the true role of a friend to point and guide us even when we don t agree; total
devotion can ruin not only a friendship, but a life. In Hossini s novel, there are plenty of examples of a

Korey Wiggins Mrs. Saunders AP English 3 12 February 2018 Argumentative Practice Essay Two
America a melting pot due to its broad cultural background. America welcomes everyone. But, only
the natives are welcome into society. Thomas Paine s Rights of Men is mistaken in thinking America
is a flawless country with no societal problems due to skin color or social background. Paine said The
poor are not oppressed, the rich are not privileged, The poor have always been oppressed and the rich
always have an upper hand. A rich man s name is spoke in a room and people shudder, but a poor man
s name is only known to his family and himself. Poor men have a disadvantage in money and if you

as dirty and illiterate. They can not get ahead in life because society immediately labels them

lawyer. Even in the movies anyone who is a criminal and well off they are shown with luxury prison
cells. How can a prison cell even be luxurious? If you have enough money or your family name has
enough pull then you can get anything you want. Money means power and power is the only thing
anyone wants in America. To achieve the American dream you have to be ruthless. If you are poor you

35. The Christian Faith Since The Reformation Of Luther
Spener, like Luther, saw a need to reform what was there in the way of religious faiths. And like
Luther, his intentions were not to remake the faith but to simply bring it back to where it belonged.
Unlike the reformation of Luther, which failed to reform the Catholic Church and ended up splitting
into the Protestant Church, Spener spent his time within the Protestant Church to reform the way
people lived and thought. Arguably, the Pia Desidria that Spener wrote turned out to be the greatest
paper to further the Christian faith since the Bible itself. Pietism is a movement that happened in the
seventeenth and eighteenth century within Protestantism. By the end of the seventeenth century
Protestantism had fallen away from its focus on Christ and a person s walk with Him and had fully
submersed itself in to religious dogma. The movement started with one man, Philip Spener, growing
up with a strong religious background and the writings of Johann Arndt, Spener went to the University
of Strassburg. While attending school at Strassburg, he was taught by professors that justification by
faith was more than just a doctrine but a spiritual rebirth. After spending three years in a pastorate at
Strassburg, Spener went to Frankfort. Upon his arrival, he was shocked by the conditions of the town
and abandoned traditional doctrine and started preaching from the entire Bible. After he preached from
the Sermon on the Mount in 1669, the response from the people was very surprising. People

36. Candide and Free Will
Voltaire s Candide is a novel that is interspersed with superficial characters and conceptual ideas that
are critically exaggerated and satirized. The parody offers cynical themes disguised by mockeries and
witticism, and the story itself presents a distinctive outlook on life narrowed to the concept of free will
as opposed to blind faith driven by desire for an optimistic outcome. The crucial contrast in the story
deals with irrational ideas as taught to Candide about being optimistic by Pangloss, his cheerful
mentor, versus reality as viewed by the rest of the world through the eyes of the troubled character,
Martin. This raises the question of whether or not the notion of free will is valid due to Candide s
peculiar timing of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under these assumptions Candide says, There can be no effect without a cause [...] The whole is
necessarily concatenated and arranged for the best (6). This philosophy that everything is fated to be
good omits the validity of free will that Candide later claims to have since he is man and therefore
above the animal world, because no matter what man does in part to shape the entirety of his future,
Candide was taught that the outcome is predestined to yield an optimistic and hopeful reality. The
belief that everything happens for a reason and where the reason is good is incompatible with the act
of free will. Therefore, any efforts of free will are futile because they cannot change the predetermined
outcome, making its concept essentially nonexistent. This logical cycle strengthens and endorses
readers ideas that free will is incongruous with faith. Candide is a naïve character that is in complete
control of his ideas and actions despite the influence from others. In chapter two when he is captured
by Bulgarians and given the choice between death and running the gauntlet, he groundlessly uses his
free will to receive an intense degree of torture and anguish. He was asked which he would like the
best, to be whipped six and thirty times through all the regiment, or to receive at once twelve balls of
lead in his brain. He vainly said that human will is free, and that he chose neither the one nor the other

37. Artificial Intelligence Is The Dominant Theory
Artificial intelligence is intelligence exhibited by machines or software. Artificial intelligence also
studies how people create computers that are capable or preforming an intelligent behavior, like a
human (Business Dictionary). To back up artificial intelligence, there is functionalism. Hilary Putman
developed functionalism in the 1970 s, which is still the dominant theory in todays society.
Functionalism states that having a mind does not require a brain and mental states can be realized by
other kinds of substances. Mental states are also defined by their functions. In other words,
functionalism is where ones causes and effects define the views of their mental states. An example can
be defined as being in pain, which can cause ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dualism is just a substance and it stated that the mind is made up of other things rather than just
atoms. Where materialism states the opposite. It showed that there were no such things as immaterial
substances, which meant there were no souls. Materialism was the simpler theory because there was
no mystery and it assumed the least. For that, Ockham s razor denied the objection to the mind body
dualism because it assumed too much. Along with that, materialism was able to prove that without
having a soul, computers can still be intelligent like a human.
Functionalism was an influence that made people believe in the possibility that machines can be
intelligent. It also identifies mental states by what they do rather than what they are made of and there
in that statement, the mind body dualism is denied by functionalism. Perhaps mental states are more a
matter of software, like running a program on your computer (Rosen et al., 355). It is denied not only
because there is not enough information to back it up, but because functionalism says that beliefs,
desires and emotions fit into the larger system since those types of mental states must be realized by
something else other than by what it already is.
Like anything else in philosophy, there are always objections to someone s theory. An objection or the

The Civil war came to an end in 1865 after the Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to the
Union. The Civil War left a huge number of destructions along the way in the North and the South.
The North were required to reconstruct the Confederate States. And that caused the appearance of the
Reconstruction Era in 1865. It was a period in which Americans put the pieces together . People were
split after the Civil War, some wanted to reconstruct the Confederate states where it is politically and

almost mirrored his previous president Abraham Lincoln, they felt that he did not pay attention to the

39. Social Class And Social System In The Elizabethan Era
Upper middle, middle and lower, these are the modern day classes Americans are familiar with. But
what many don t know is between 1558 1603, the Elizabethan Era, the same social class system was
already being used. The only difference was that they were more in depth. Although the social class
system is still in place today during the Elizabethan era it was used to place people in categories based
on their financial state, family history, and beliefs. The social classes of the Elizabethan era were
divided into three broad categories and subdivided into smaller specified groups. The broader
categories became known as estates ( Elizabethan Era ). There was the first, second and third estate.
The first estate consisted of clergy ( Social Order 58). Although they were all Roman Catholic clergy
these people were broken up into smaller sections. The smaller sections divided the ordained from the
unordained (Social Status and Community ). The Ordained were known as seculars an example of
someone who would fall under this division was the pope. The second estate, was of the nobility. The
nobility included anyone who worked for or was a part of the royal family. Besides the church this
estate held all the judicial and political power ( Social Order 60). They were many subdivisions in this
estate the main one was the monarch. It was composed of, kings, queens, dukes, counts, and different
ranks of knights (Ferraro 44). The third and final estate was for the poor. Granted, not all

modern history. Sometime around 1800, European powers dominated Egypt when other foreign
powers were conquering the country. France and Britain, specifically, invaded the country for

41. Fredrick Henry Sexism
Gender roles exist all throughout history and prevail in present day. In Farewell to Arms, Hemingway
brings to light to society s standards of men and during World War I through the character, Frederick
Henry. He is an American soldier touring over in Italy. He follows the typical stereotype of a man,
fitting into the war through fighting for his country. He changes his internal ways after a tragic
incident happens to a loved one. Hemingway reveals this sexism through the death of Catherine,
Henry s lover, and her child. Henry, as a male, must hide his feelings and any indication that differs
from the stereotypical tough attitude. He is constantly hurt through war or even through emotional
issues in his own relationship, though the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hemingway proves through the actions and reactions of Henry that the stereotype of male cannot
define him. Henry, throughout the novel, is heavily drinking when he is with other men (Hemingway
87, 171). He is most likely keeping up on appearances to appeal to the others as a man. This part of
Henry does not change, Hemingway is signifying the stereotypes pushed onto men do not come in the
form of taunting, just being around others. The only changes shown through Henry are the thoughts
that he allows himself to have. Hemingway demonstrates the struggle for a man to admit pain as
Henry says, Lying on the floor of the flat car with the guns beside me under the canvas, I was wet,
cold, and very hungry (Hemingway 231). This revelation of admittance is rare and significant due to
the lack of communication from other men in the novel about their own pain. All the men in the novel
seem to talk about is drinking, war, and women. After Catherine s death, Hemingway has Henry leave.
After a while I went out and left the hospital and walked back to the hotel in the rain (Hemingway
332). Henry does not cry, he merely walks away into the rain. Hemingway is showing the defeat of a
man. Henry is changed, but the main reason for his change has no been ripped out from under his feet.
Many aspects of his manly behavior is still there, but many aspects of him have changed. Hemingway
is revealing the reality behind the masculinity seen in males. While their exterior appears tough and
apathetic, their interior has emotion and can love another. It changes the work as a whole, as Henry s
denial to love and other non masculine subjects are no longer trust worthy. Henry s denials are just to
be seen as cover ups for his own sake. Hemingway exhibits the change of a man through his thoughts,
but also proves the pressures on that man

style appropriately. He assumes that readers have a basic knowledge of Chemistry which is suitable
for wider readers of Chemistry World. Hadlingtons use of technical language is suitable for scientific
readers but also acknowledges readers of non science backgrounds and defines some complex
chemistry terms, for example Hadlington provides readers with the meaning of Muons. Having said
this, there are times where the scientific language used was not consistent for a casual reader. This is
observed when the author becomes more advanced with the talk of quantum mechanical parameters.
Prior explanation of this concept would be beneficial in keeping with the consistency of the article.
The author attempts to avoid ambiguity by using quotations and references to scientific journals
within the text however fails to include specificities of their findings. This is shown within the first
paragraph when Hadlington says new work shows how substituting isotopes can result in fundamental
changes . This reads vague and could be further explained giving details on what was involved in the
new work and how the results gave fundamental changes . What are these fundamental changes?

47. Biblical Theme Of The Old Testament V. New Testament
Thematic Biblical Theme
An Analysis of Son of Man perceptions in the Old Testament v. New Testament
Alejandro Londono
(Professor)
(University)
6 Nov 2014
The term Son of Man is translated differently by the prophets, apostles, and people of the Old
Testament when compared to how the term is viewed in the New Testament. In analyzing how the
terms are perceived during these times, it becomes possible to trace the theme of the Son of Man, and
how it was viewed in the Old Testament, to how the Son of Man has been viewed in the New
Testament. In observing these differences, one can clearly see the term had similar meanings, but was
represented in a different fashion, depending on the peoples and circumstances of the time period. In
analyzing these occasions in which the term Son of Man is used throughout the two testaments, it will
become clear as to their intended, and actual interpretations.
In the Old Testament, it is Ezekiel who is the protagonist, in a sense. This becomes apparent, because
Ezekiel plays such a vital role to the message behind the books of the Old Testament. Ezekiel was a
man as God had intended, and can also be viewed as the coming savior in the Old Testament (Morris
Henry, Ph.D., 1 3). The importance of Ezekiel is soon observed, and as noticed in chapter 2, verse 1 of
the book Ezekiel of the Old Testament, God commands Ezekiel to stand, so that he may be
commissioned as a prophet for the peoples of Israel (UcoG,

48. Use Of Romanticism In The Human Seasons By John Keats
Romanticism in literature was used widely in Europe towards the end of the eighteenth century and is
characterized by adoration of nature, celebration of an individual, strong emotions, interest in man,
and the importance of imagination. There are many poems which use romanticism to convey its
meaning to the reader. The Human Seasons by John Keats is a poem about the emotions of man and is
symbolized with the four seasons of winter, spring, summer, and autumn. John Keats is regarded as
one of the most well known romantic poets alongside Lord Byron. The poem conveys the use of
romanticism to the reader through the use of awe of nature, interest in the common man, importance
of imagination, and strong senses of emotions to intrigue the reader. Nature is used throughout the
poem through the seasons of spring, summer, autumn and fall, which symbolize emotions of humans
and give an insight in the interest in the common man. Each individual season is very different from
each other and represents a distinct human emotion or stage of life. The characteristic awe of nature is
used by Keats to make a connection between human emotions and nature. There is also an interest in
the common man in which the reader learns about the changing emotions of man when the seasons
change. Keat s describes the human season s saying, There are four seasons in the mind of man (l.2).
When Keat s uses the words ...in the mind of man (l.2) the reader will understand that the author is

49. How Greed Affects The Lives Of People
It is hard to believe how greed affects the lives of people. Often people do not realize that money and
power are not everything in life. During the Industrial Revolution many people let their lives be
heavily manipulated by their material wants rather than their needs. As a result they were often
unhappy with the lives they had while others were in abundance of happiness. Charles Dickens lived
during the Industrial Revolution and knew what life was like during those times ( BBC Primary
History Famous People Charles Dickens ). In Hard Times, Dickens portrays the lives of a group of
people who were directly affected by the Industrial Revolution. Thomas Gradgrind, Louisa Gradgrind,
and Josiah Bounderby are three characters that are deeply affected by the Industrial Revolution in the
novel. The novel begins by giving us an overview of Thomas Gradgrind beliefs. This man who is the
first character to be introduced to the readers in Hard Times is portrayed as a monotone, mechanized
man who relies solely on facts and nothing more. In the novel he is described as, A man who proceeds
upon the principle that two and two are four, and nothing over, and who is not to be talked into
allowing for anything over (Dickens, Book the First, CH II). He also owns a school where children do
not seem to have an individual personality as they are reduced to mere number on a list, as he refers to
