Data Structure queues methods and abstract data types are included in this elementary slot. ( 2, 3, 4,
5,6, 7)
Robert s defined abstract data type as the algorithms operations that are preformed rather than
implemented the data structure and algorithms operating on it should refer to anything inside, except
through function and procedure calls for the fundamental operations. The main reason for the
development of abstract data types has been as a mechanism for organizing large programs. Abstract
data types provide a way to limit the size and complexity of the interface between (potentially
complicated) algorithms and associated data structures and a potentially large number of programs
that use the algorithms and data structures, making it easier to understand large program and more
convenient to change or improve the fundamental algorithms .(2:pg30)
Arrays and linked list are refinements of a basic abstract data type called the linear list, because each
can support operations such as insert, delete and access on a basic sequentially data ordered structure.
These operation suffice to describe the algorithms and the linear list abstraction can be useful in the
initial states of algorithms development. Using the wrong algorithm like a

The Death Of Meriwether Lewis
The Death of Meriwether Lewis
Meriwether Lewis was one of the travelers that were given the mission of traveling from the colonies
to the Pacific Ocean, The Mission of Discovery . After Lewis got back from the expedition, he was
assigned the role of Governor of The upper half of the Louisiana Purchase. When he was appointed to
this position, he didn t instantly go to do the job though. Actually he spent about half a year trying to
publish the notes he wrote down during the Mission of Discovery. That didn t work out though
because of financial funds. So Lewis came back to Washington D.C. and got ready to go to his part of
the Louisiana territory. But on the way there he stopped at an inn called ... Show more content on

In the position that Lewis supposedly shot himself at wound. Lets say he shot himself in the in the
abdomen. This shot would also have been fatal because it would rupture something in his abdomen
which would also would have been fatal. Therefor it doesn t matter if Lewis shot himself in the head
first or the abdomen. They both would have been fatal. The amount of power that the horse pistols can
generate shows that Lewis would not have been able to shoot himself twice. One shot would have
immobilized him. If it was someone else shooting him that would make sense that there were two
wounds, because someone else could have shot him. But Lewis shooting himself twice just isn t
reasonable due to the amount of damage and the amount of power the guns would give. That is why
Meriwether Lewis was the victim to a murder conspiracy.
Also there is the information from Major James Neelly. Major Neelly was sending a letter to President
Thomas Jefferson about the death of Meriwether Lewis. Major James Neelly was charged with treason
and is a very sketchy person. There has been people who suspect Neelly to be part of the the murder
conspiracy. Neelly was one of the companions that went with Lewis when he was traveling to his part
of the Louisiana Purchase. It says that before they got to the inn the horses ran away and Neelly went
to go catch them. At the time of the death of Lewis, Neelly was supposedly in court in a city about 60
miles away. At the time 2 days by horse.

Sputnik And The Space Race
On October 4, 1957, the Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union commenced in a
sudden, explosive fashion. The Soviet Union launched Sputnik , humanity s very first artificial
satellite, into outer space. Sputnik, meaning fellow traveler in Russian, is now synonymous with the
Cold War and the Space Race. Sputnik s purpose was twofold the first reason was purely to beat the
U.S. to outer space. However, Sputnik had scientific reasons to be in space as well. The Soviet Union
determined five objectives for Sputnik to accomplish during her time in space: 1. Test the method of
placing an artificial satellite into Earth s orbit, 2. Provide information on the density of the atmosphere
by calculating its lifetime in orbit, 3. Test radio and optical methods of orbital tracking, 4. Determine
the effects of radio wave propagation through the atmosphere, and 5. Check principles of
pressurization used on satellites. When the Soviet Union beat the United States by launching
something into space first, the U.S. reaction was palpable. Public fear and anxiety spread throughout
the nation, along with a sense of nationalism and pride. The United States must answer with a launch,
or face humiliation and defeat.
The United States answered the Soviets during the new year of 1958. The new year saw the launch of
Explorer I, the creation of NASA, and the founding of the top secret project Corona. The launch of the
United States first satellite a mere three months after

Personal Responsibility Work Opportunity Act Analysis
The Personal Responsibility Work Opportunity Act created the Temporary Assistance to Needy
Families program to provide income support poor families with children (Gilbert Terrell, p.75). The
intended purpose of the TANF s initiative is to end Welfare and to cut down on social spending
programs. The impact of TANF has promoted a new way of receiving public assistance and places the
emphasis on self sufficiency through employment. It also pushes the main idea of being married in
efforts to decrease out of wedlock births. The primary social problem that this act attempts to address
is poverty. Its focus points are getting people to obtain employment with the hopes that once
employment is obtained it will reduce the amount of families in poverty.

Literature And The English Literature Essay
Literature can briefly be defined as written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting
artistic merit; books and writings published on a particular subject or leaflets and other printed matter
used to advertise products or give advice. One of the most popular forms of literature would be
English literature. If one would look up the definition for English literature, the best descriptive
information would be that it s impression and format is over one hundred years old, and continues to
be one of the most common studied forms of art, as far as written, studied in high schools and
universities around the world. English literature is basically the study of literature that has been
written in the English language. This form of literature expands past the most common American
language and dates back to the Shakespearean and Renaissance timeline. English literature has
progressed and taken many different forms over the years and constantly evolves numerous elements
that makes it such an elaborate art. It all begins with an emotion, perception, or experience the author
may have endured or witnessed. It is the understanding of these words and elements, which causes not
only the students that are required to read said literature; but those who appreciate the true authenticity
of a well written novel or short story, to truly appreciate the purpose and importance of it all. When
you are reading a novel can you easily depict who the author has designed to be the

Hcs 245-Week 5
(Week 1 DQ #2) Class, In our first DQ, we discussed the various cultural barriers that we might see on
a routine basis; however there are still many more barriers to effective communication. These might
be more associated with physical and psychological barriers. Here are two real world questions that
we most of us will encounter throughout our health care career regularly... How might a provider
communicate more effectively with a person who is hearing impaired? Also, how might a provider
communicate more effectively with an adolescent versus an adult? Paul Wing, MBA/HRM, B.S.

communicating with one who is hearing impaired. A great invention is the CART which as you
mentioned is a computer assisted real time transcription or where the hearing impaired person uses a
computer to communicate. Most commonly language used is sign language and speech interprets. I
think most adolescents face issues with communicating with Providers because they have not builded
a bond. If a child doesn t feel comfortable they tend not to say much and shy away . I think providers
should try to become more involved or try methods to get the child interested as I mentioned in my
post such as trying to offer a treat for communicating . In other words once the provider sees you they
should state great job and give the child a blow pop or candy so the next visit they are familiar of a
treat , this will eventually open up a wide communication field. I know it worked when I was a child ,

My Internship Analysis
This summer I had the chance to take on a great challenge. I completed 120 hours for my internship
while at the same time working as fulltime employee. I truly mean it when I say it was a great
challenge. In only 2 months I completed 120 hours in an office that was only open 8 5 Monday
through Friday. I know it may seem reasonable to others and you might even ask why that would be
something so difficult for me to do but it was very tough. You see, I work my total of 40 hours a week
at my current job and to add more hours to my schedule seemed pretty exhausting. Unfortunately, I am
not as privileged as other to have an amazing schedule like 8 to 5 or weekends off. I work overnight.

I not only learned about the procedures for child support but I also learned things that will help in any
career that I decide to get into. I learned about proper communication skills. During my time at the
office I watched how communication was very important. Our communication skills can help in many
things and one major thing is to calm a person down, express compassion, give assurance. I witnessed
several clients going into the offices very bothered and frustrated with their cases or some would even
come in sad and disappointed but the office staff knew how to communicate properly with them and
assure them of any concerns they had. Another thing I learned is multi tasking. The office was all
about multi tasking and doing things fast. I realized that I need to work on my typing in order to type
faster. Since I am interested in office work I do need to type faster than I do now. Regarding multi
tasking, I had to document, file, and place in order all the paperwork for files that needed to be ready
for court. I had to have over 4 programs open on my desktop to look for photos and files that needed
to be printed and also programs where I had to notate what changes were done to the case or the latest
update on the file. I also learned to proper documentation and filing. I had to constantly document any
changes I made to each file. Each documentation was detailed and had to have a date the change was
made, what was the change, and who made the change. I also learned the importance of
confidentiality. During my time at the office they were very clear on how confidentiality is their
number one priority. Due to keeping everything confidential, it was a major rule at the office that
anyone who stood and left their office station must lock their computers. All documents that were

Escapism And Suicide Research Paper
Society, as a whole, has become exceedingly fast paced. A fast paced society has come to be the origin
of a stressed filled environment that is prompted by anxiety and depression. In response, individuals
have become escapist in order to find an outlet to achieve mental and emotional stability (Mental
Help). There are multiple methods of escapism that range from healthy to unhealthy. Such as listening
to music, excessive sleeping, and committing suicide. Bella Pollen wrote, you don t need to know
what you re escaping from to become a fugitive (GoodReads). All individuals are subjected to
escapism as a way to flee daily routine and boredom.

A form of escapism that many individuals partake in is the permanent decision to end one s life in
order to escape their misfortune. The purpose of committing suicide is to seek for a solution, to those
individuals suicide is the only answer to an otherwise unsolvable problem (Survivors of Suicide). By
ending their lives these individuals hope to escape the burden of responsibilities while leaving behind
the anguish of what they can not change. Studies show that those who seek for a permanent solution
like suicide often suffer from depression after they have repressed their emotions for long periods of
time. Suicide has become the third leading cause of death amongst young individuals. Suicide
methods may differ depending on the gender. Woman are commonly prone to overdose on pills or
cutting themselves. While men choose methods that are lethal, such as using a weapon, jumping from
buildings, or hanging themselves (Teen Suicide). These individuals that feel the need to take their
lives are often depressed and feel hopeless. Their psychological pain is too much of a burden to carry
around and suicide becomes the only way to escape from it

Descent
The Most Beautiful Death
The short film, Descent is about a dying man and his very vivid memories shown through dance.
The movie won many awards including, the Van Gogh Award at the Amsterdam Film Festival and
Best Music and Dance at the Global Short Film Award. The film also won the Excellence film award
from Indie Fest.
The entire film is less than five minutes but it has so much content in it. I m usually not the kind of
person that watches live performances or goes to dance recitals. I have trouble understanding them
and this film was no exception, but it was so beautiful to watch that I m not upset that I wasn t sure

In front of the wall are three men with black trash bags over their faces. They are reaching out in
different directions and ripping open the bag. They pull themselves up off the floor and begin their
dance. It is beautiful and mesmerizing and I ve watched it several times. There are moments when the
camera goes into slow motion and we get a great scene of one of the three men with his leg straight up
in the air. After their dance the camera switches focus back to the woman in a yellow dress from
before. She moves as fluidly as water. Her movements are precise and relaxing. She is making things
that take lots of strength look like anyone is capable of doing it. I could watch her dance for hours.
Just as with the three men from before some of her movements are caught in slow motion, at just the
perfect time to see her body contort in different ways. The film ends with the dying man and the
woman in the yellow dress. He is still letting out his substance from his body while he dies in her
arms.
Along with the very powerful visuals from the dancers the music is strong and reflective. If I close my
eyes I can see the story laid out in front of me from the music alone. It has a haunting tone to it that
makes you wonder about your own life and what your memories would look like if someone created

Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv ) Vaccine
Exploratory Essay: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine Prior to June of 2006, Human
Pappilomarius (HPV) was almost unheard of to the general public. But after FDA approval of Gardasil
manufactured by Merck Co., HPV vaccine became the headline of many articles and breaking news of
many TV channels. Why? Let s us explore it. According to World Health Organization (WHO), HPV
worldwide is the most common sexual transmitted Disease (STD). There are more than 100 strains of
HPV and in those 13 strains are known for causing cancer in human. HPV infection goes undetected
majority of the time. HPV infected victims mostly have no signs or symptoms or are there any tests
available to detect it. The body immunity usually gets rid of the viruses on its own. However, with
persistent infection, it may lead to genital warts and worrisome oro genital cancers. With normal
immunity, it takes about 15 20 years for cervical cancer to develop. Worldwide, cervical cancer is the
second most frequent cancer. It is estimated more than 270,000 deaths from cervical cancer annually
(1 6). In 2007, to prevent the devastation result of HPV associated cancer, the National Advisory
Committee on Immunization practices (ACIP) recommended Gardasil as a routine vaccination for girl
s ages 11 to 12 with a catch up vaccination for those aged 13 to 26. Across the country, thereafter, state
legislature attempt to make HPV vaccine mandated. As the result, controversy was generated. In this

Beyond Scared Straight Summary
Established in the 1970 s, Scared Straight programs began to get introduced throughout the United
States as a method of deterrence for young teens in an attempted to keep them out of jail. A normal
program usually consists of an at risk teen visiting an adult prison to find out what it was really like to
be placed somewhere they are unable to leave. The teen learns of the harsh conditions that real prison
inmates have to endure while behind bars. Facility managers set up an itinerary for the teens to follow
as they tour the jail and live as though they were prisoners for a full day. This would put the at risk
youths up against an aggressive in your face confrontation with the inmates. They would get to listen
to the inmate s stories and have a one on one counseling session to really hit home on how the next
few years are going to be determined after they leave. However, no matter how well the intentions
may be to attempt and rehabilitate the teens, research has shown that many of approaches proved
ineffective. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How could this still be on the air? In spite of the prevention act, the programs that are still running had
been stripped of their state funding as it was deemed traumatizing for the at risk teens. This was not
going to be the solution that leads them away from drugs and violence. Moving more into the series as
a whole, there is a nice coating that covers the false, yet what most would believe to be true as a
notion tough on crime. The punishment of criminals is more damning than prevention as others
believe it sticks better to the inmate, resulting in a long standing imprint. Moreover, our justice system

The Current State Of Our Cybersecurity Infrastructure
In recent year s law and policy makers have expressed alarm at the exponentially growing threat of
malicious traffic that has been traveling across the Internet. While most agree that something needs to
be done, consensus falls apart around the issues pertaining to cybersecurity policies, laws and
enforcement. This policy paper will briefly discuss the current state of our cybersecurity
infrastructure. The terms of malicious traffic, liability and its forms will defined, key components will
be introduced, the roles that the Internet Service Provider (ISP), software producer, end user, operating
systems developer play in this process will be examined and key legislation will be mentioned. These
key factors and research herein, help to supply that the liability should lie with the Internet Service

Adolescent Eating Disorders and Attachment
Eating Disorders (ED) negatively affect 25% of adolescents. It is a disorder that compiles abnormal
eating habits that includes either excessive or insufficient food intake. These abnormal eating habits
can definitely affect the individual s physical and mental health. Different factors are presume to be
correlated with eating disorders in adolescents. Some examples consist of depression, anxiety,
behavioral problems, low self esteem, role of attachment, parental relationships, etc (Gossens, Braet,

On the other hand, deficits of parental attachments were linked with different types of adolescent
psychopathology on clinical groups, which induces to support the findings in the study. Regarding
seeking proximity, half of the group with eating disorders claimed that since the disorder was
identified, they developed a closer relationship with their mothers. The findings proposed that the
disorder served as a mean to obtain closeness in order to satisfy the mothering hunger for the
emotionally unsatisfied adolescent (Orzolek Kronner, 2002). One limitation to this study is the
reliability of self present measures reported by adolescents. Another limitation is that this study
focuses only on females and their relationships with their mothers.
Next, the topic of attachment in relation to eating disorders is projected using ex post facto study
method, which refers to something occurs after the fact. In the research article by Cunha, Relvas and

main focus was to distinguish detected family characteristics between females with anorexia nervosa

The Assault By Harry Mulisch Essay
In The Assault by Harry Mulisch, the themes of guilt and innocence are highly prevalent throughout
its storyline and are more often than not related to each other. In these situations, Mulisch employs his
diverse cast of characters, their motives, and their fates to intertwine these themes and create a morally
ambiguous political thriller that leaves the audience unsure of a definite resolution. The first set of
characters Mulisch employs is the Ploeg family. When Fake Ploeg is murdered in the beginning of the
novel, Anton recalls him as being the greatest murderer and traitor in Haarlem (Mulisch 17),
immediately informing the audience that he was intensely disliked among his community. Later, the

Toward the end of the novel, Anton s final encounter relating to the night of the assault is with his old

in front of his house as opposed to the other neighbors, such as the Aarteses, she replied that her father
had said, No, not there. They re hiding Jews! (Mulisch 183). This astonishes both the audience and
Anton by providing the final piece to the puzzle they have been trying to solve over the course of this
novel. With this revelation, Mulisch also applies the themes of innocence and guilt by exhibiting how

William Wordsworth s The Preface
Throughout history, at least until the late 1700s, poetry had always been centered on specific
guidelines that one must follow when expressing their feelings. However, once the late 1700s came
around in Europe, there was a sudden shift in the idealized poetry construction. The main reason for
this revolution was the publication of William Wordsworth s The Preface, which was a part of the
Lyrical Ballads, in which he stated his exact intentions for the Romantic Period of literature. This
period exemplified the radical changes that were beginning to occur in Europe, as well as other places
around the world.
In general, writers of this period expressed themselves through the use of imagination and emotion
instead of scholarly thoughts. In other words, they sought to use their inner eye in order to see the
world around them more clearly and accurately. Also, they believed all good aspects of life came
directly from nature, including the inherent good of humans as well as divine intervention. The writers
believed that by isolating oneself in nature, he or she would be able to become more self aware and
dependent. Due to this belief, the authors considered an important part of this period of literature to be
favoring the individual self over society as a whole. Various parts of life could be included in this, but
mostly just politics and social reform. Many poets were a part of this radical change in literature:

Emotional Analysis Of Ernest Hemingway s A Clean,...
In his short story A Clean, Well Lighted Place, Ernest Hemingway, uses his usual style of elegant, yet
unembellished, prose to depict one late night interaction between an old man, a young waiter, and an
older waiter. The story takes place at a café in Madrid, during the era following the Lost Generation
and is apparent, given the contrasting perspectives of the characters. The part of the story where the
young waiter refills the old man s brandy with an agitated demeanor and the old man desires nothing
more than to drink continuously, as he does on a nightly basis, illuminates the broader concerns of the
of the story. This passage, although centered around the story s supporting characters, unveils the idea
of nothingness before the reader s introduction to the word nada. Hemingway s A Clean, Well Lighted
Place, is a revelation to the elaborate complexity of emotional fulfillment versus the existential crisis
of spiritual and emotional emptiness, between the young and the old, throughout this particular
generational gap. Throughout the passage, we see the young waiter go through a wide range of
emotions, beginning with him feeling irritated, which becomes perceivable after his initial statement: a
terse What do you want? directed at the old man (153). He then becomes condescending, telling the
old man that he will be drunk if he continues drinking, knowing that he cannot hear him and that
getting drunk is, evidently, the old man s intentions (154). Next, he tells

Mountain Man Beer Company Case Reco
Recommendation for Mountain Man Beer Company (MMB)
Although the launch of a new product is always going to be a risk, banking on the withering demand

More importantly, light beer is the largest sales opportunity and it is what the market demands,
therefore, to introduce the Mountain Man Light can be a gateway necessary for MMB to attract new

At the same time, as the Light brand gains market share locally it would grow in popularity through
untraditional advertising: grass roots marketing. And MMB has know for some time, word of mouth
(WOM) advertising is more effective than the traditional, lifestyle advertising other national beer
brands have used to reach young drinkers. MMB also would have strong brand strategy and visual
identification to brand the Light beer, which had achieved with the Lager product line.
Another way to promote the Light beer is sponsorship. MMB would target younger drinking aged
adults at sports venues, especially extreme sports events like rock band concerts, and events popular
with this segment. Sponsoring events where young drinkers are found would increase the likelihood of
grass roots marketing through WOM advertising after the event. Additionally, the marketing campaign

The United States (U.S.) Women s Soccer Team has become more profitable, more watched, and more
successful than the United States Men s Soccer Team. They have gotten to where they are at now not
through money but through their struggle to play the sport they love. U.S. Women s Soccer started
from the crazy thought of women playing a men s sport to a dominating spot at the top of this nation s
soccer winning game after game. Still no matter if they are more profitable, more watched, and more
successful, the U.S. Women s soccer team is extremely underpaid compared to the men s team. The
U.S. Men s team even gets paid more just for showing up to their games than the women do to win
major championships (Zirin). If the U.S. Women s team actually placed in the World Cup and won

Control Mechanisms
Control Mechanisms Control mechanisms are necessary in order for any business to run smoothly and
ensure that things are going as planned. These controls help the business determine the activity and
direction of its employees in a manner that helps the company meet its goals (Bateman Snell, 2007).
There are three basic types of controls: bureaucratic, market, and clan. Bureaucratic control basically
consists of the formal rules and regulations that establish authority, set standards, and regulate
behaviors (Bateman Snell). Market control regulates activities by examining the competition,
analyzing profit and loss, and utilizing economic information (Bateman Snell). Clan control differs

organizations where people believe they can be part of shaping the culture. The negative to this

control is based on a pricing mechanism that allows regulation of performance. Market Controls
provide a natural incentive for employees to enhance their skills so that they may be offered to
potential firms. The negative to this control is that economic measures may not reflect the complete
value of an organization adequately. The employees often suffer as companies are bought and sold

Assessment of Stream Health at Conley Run Through the Sampling of Benthic Macroinvertebrates
C.J. Laurin, C.J. Hess, M.C. Taddeo
Introduction
Located near Cowan, Pennsylvania, Conley Run is a tributary of Buffalo Creek that has experienced
severe degradation due to agricultural activity. Specifically, the deposition of large amounts of animal
wastes, pesticides, and fertilizers has resulted in significant eutrophication throughout the stream.
Furthermore, bank degradation associated with the movement of livestock has caused the
displacement of foreign sediments into stream habitats. These factors, among many others, have
caused the lake to be considered impaired by PA DEP. In response, the Buffalo Creek Watershed
Alliance, the the Union County Conservation District, and the Department of Environmental
Protection and Fish and Boat Commision have partnered in an effort to restore stream habitat and
create a riparian buffer to protect the stream.
A separate tributary of Buffalo Creek, known as Stony Run, lies upstream from Conley Run. Since it
is located in a dense wooded area with little to no agricultural interference, Stony Run has experienced
very little degradation in comparison to Conley Run. However, Stony Run also shares a number of
similar physical characteristics with Conley Run, such as discharge, watershed area, elevation and
slope. Therefore, it will serve as a reference stream for this study.
The objective of this study was to assess the stream habitat quality

Acid Rain Problems
An Overview OF AREAS IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ACID RAIN
What areas in the world have problems with acid rain?
Areas that have problems with acid rain are those that contain many running cars and a large
population of people in one place, such as cities. Areas near electric companies that burn fossil fuel or
manufacturing industries also face acid rain. Even areas that are far from electric companies and
manufacturing industries face the wrath of acid rain as SO2 and NOx can travel far through wind and
air currents.
Why do they have acid rain?
These places have acid rain because of the amount of SO2 and NOx that is being created. The burning
of fossil fuels that electric companies do release sulfur dioxide that spreads through the air, which
forms acid rain. Heat that radiates off internal combustion engines(cars) forms nitrogen dioxide.
Which is also used in the making of acid rain. With the amount of cars that are being used in one city,
acid rain is bound to be a problem.
What damages does acid rain cause?
1. Acid rain breaks down the metal of structures in cities, like buildings and statues.
2. It pollutes the water and kills living organisms in ecosystems.
3. It creates smog and pollutes the air.
What are five thing we can do to prevent acid rain and the damage it causes?
1. We can change the way we create energy, instead burning fossil fuels we could use some alternative
method.
2. Instead of driving to work or school, people could walk or take a bike, or

So, to convert location address into longitude and latitude coordinates, there is a number of ways to
accomplish this. You may have a GPS device which shows you these coordinates, and you could just
take a reading from the GPS while at the address and note down the coordinates. There are also a
number of software packages out there which provide this conversion, but you don t particularly need
to buy one of those geocoders unless you need to geocode a large number of addresses. (Digital Maps

The History And Culture Of English Literature
The history and culture of English literature are profound in the literary writings from the beginning of
the Periods of Old English, Middle English, Elizabethan, Romantic, and the Modern. All of these
periods are named purposely by intellectual, political movements, historical events, and artistic styles
that are evident in the literary writings during their respective timeframes. As an example, it is during
the Old English Period (Anglo Saxon) where the English language is born. The epic poem Beowulf is
for certain the most influential literary work of this period and possess national epic status in England.
The poem Beowulf draws on Christianity to change the pre conversion myth by elucidating the many
things that cannot be explained by science or the laws of nature, including things characteristic of or
relating to ghosts, gods, or things beyond nature, turning into a lesson on faith. Adversely, it is the
Middle English period where the influence of Norman language (drawn from the French Romance
language), culture and literature take shape. This period starts with the Norman invasion in 1066,
where we learn of a woman in the federal aristocracy, marriage viewed as a political act and the
introduction of courtly love. It is mysticism and magic that plays a role in the analysis of ideas and
stories of the Catholic belief during the Middle English Period which is evident in the literary works
of Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. A historically

Van Milligan said he could only do this by establishing what he was about individually, then clearly

Van Milligan immediately started his change initiative within the city organization. He wanted to
make the government aspect of this vision more effective and efficient. To do this he cut a layer of
bureaucracy out. This layer consisted of seven upper management level jobs. By doing this, he
streamlined the organization and started building his guiding team, which consisted of the people that
needed to be a part of the change and those that wanted to change.
Readiness for Change (Jeremy Jensen) Van Milligan next required each department to justify their

were encouraged to be involved in this process. According to Van Milligan it went over like a lead

pushed past its limits. The film is a great example of how a situation can take a turn for the worst if
globalization is not allowed. The movie has little number of symbols, but they are significant. In the
film, globalization can be viewed as a big picture, and be narrowed down between to people. In
addition, globalization shapes the character together, and then pushes them down different paths. The
process of globalization in Captain Philips can be viewed as one big picture. ... Show more content on

Throughout the film the pirate leader Muse and Captain Philips change is the same way. They both
start out strong and prepared. Both captains also have some of the same ethics. They both are hard
workers wanting to get their job done the fast, and the easiest way possible. As the pirates attack,
Muse and Philips are shaped the same way. They want what is best for them and their people. This
shows globalization because even though the captains are different nationalities, they both want to
connect with one another making the situation better for them and there people. As the film continues
the shaping of the two characters change. Philips succeeded in getting his crew out of harm s way, but
Muse and his band of pirates are still in danger with the Navy. This action ends up shaping the
characters in different direction. Philips can have some sort of piece knowing that his crew members
are out of harm s way. Muse on the other hand is still in intense negotiations with Navy leaving him
worried and frustrated. This example shows that if globalization is allowed thing get better as a whole,

Analysis Of Twelve Angry Men By Reginald Rose
Extended Analysis Twelve Angry Men
Justice is a concept that is crucial to a fair and just society. For hundreds of years, countries have
developed constitutions and other documents in place to form justice for those within the country. In
Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose, the idea of justice is bounced around by twelve men on a jury.
These men have the unthinkable decisions of whether a suspected murderer is given the death penalty
or able to walk free. The jury in Twelve Angry Men made the most just decision they could. To
understand how the decision they made was just and to explain some background, this essay will
cover a few major ideas. It will talk about how Reginald Rose included the ideas of: reasonable doubt,
being innocent until proven guilty, the jury system, and public defenders.
Twelve Angry Men touches on one of the key principles of the American criminal justice system. This
is the belief of the defendant being innocent until proven guilty. The idea is to give every person a fair
trial that follows the rules set forth in the constitution. In Twelve Angry Men, a young man is on trial
for the murder of his father. Many of the jurors jump to conclusions about the defendant s guilt
because of his lack of wealth and his ethnicity. Several of jurors make comments similar to these
people and kids like this are always up to no good (Rose 24). This shows an assumption based not on
the person, but on a very broad, vague, and stereotypical view. The biggest

Goal Setting Is An Best Way For Students With Track And...
Goal setting is an excellent way for students to track and improve upon physical fitness levels. The
importance of being able to set goals and to try to achieve them is that each individual student can
assess where they are and set goals to improve. Not all students can achieve the same fitness
standards. Some students are born with more muscle mass or more fast twitch muscle fibers than other
students. Some students have asthma or other physical difficulties that make it difficult to measure up
with other students when all students are required to get a certain score on a fitness test to get an A.
Using goal setting where all students can be successful by reaching their goals and showing
improvement could be a positive influence for future motivation. While problem based learning can
help students to learn and use goal setting (Hubball 2006), goal setting may not always help students
to achieve greater fitness levels. Hill (2015) found that those students who set goals over an 18 week
period did not have any significant improvement over those students that did not set goals on the pacer
and push up tests. Similarly, in another study looking at the effects of goal setting on Native elders
found only a weak correlation between goal setting and improvement on the amount of steps taken in
a day using a pedometer (Sawchuck 2011). The problem with this study was that the researchers set
the goals for the participants. It may be more important that students set their own

What I summarized from the introduction was that the Gaston s had been trapped by there own trash

Data Structure queues methods and abstract data types are included in this elementary slot. ( 2, 3, 4, 5,6, 7) Robert s defined abstract data type as the algorithms operations that are preformed rather than implemented the data structure and algorithms operating on it should refer to anything inside, except through function and procedure calls for the fundamental operations. The main reason for the development of abstract data types has been as a mechanism for organizing large programs. Abstract data types provide a way to limit the size and complexity of the interface between (potentially complicated) algorithms and associated data structures and a potentially large number of programs that use the algorithms and data structures, making it easier to understand large program and more convenient to change or improve the fundamental algorithms .(2:pg30) Arrays and linked list are refinements of a basic abstract data type called the linear list, because each can support operations such as insert, delete and access on a basic sequentially data ordered structure. These operation suffice to describe the algorithms and the linear list abstraction can be useful in the initial states of algorithms development. Using the wrong algorithm like a ... The Death Of Meriwether Lewis The Death of Meriwether Lewis Meriwether Lewis was one of the travelers that were given the mission of traveling from the colonies to the Pacific Ocean, The Mission of Discovery . After Lewis got back from the expedition, he was assigned the role of Governor of The upper half of the Louisiana Purchase. When he was appointed to this position, he didn t instantly go to do the job though. Actually he spent about half a year trying to publish the notes he wrote down during the Mission of Discovery. The amount of power that the horse pistols can generate shows that Lewis would not have been able to shoot himself twice. One shot would have immobilized him. If it was someone else shooting him that would make sense that there were two wounds, because someone else could have shot him. But Lewis shooting himself twice just isn t reasonable due to the amount of damage and the amount of power the guns would give. That is why Meriwether Lewis was the victim to a murder conspiracy. Also there is the information from Major James Neelly. Major Neelly was sending a letter to President Thomas Jefferson about the death of Meriwether Lewis. Major James Neelly was charged with treason and is a very sketchy person. There has been people who suspect Neelly to be part of the the murder conspiracy. Neelly was one of the companions that went with Lewis when he was traveling to his part of the Louisiana Purchase. • 5. Sputnik And The Space Race On October 4, 1957, the Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union commenced in a sudden, explosive fashion. The Soviet Union launched Sputnik , humanity s very first artificial satellite, into outer space. Sputnik, meaning fellow traveler in Russian, is now synonymous with the Cold War and the Space Race. Sputnik s purpose was twofold the first reason was purely to beat the U.S. to outer space. However, Sputnik had scientific reasons to be in space as well. The Soviet Union determined five objectives for Sputnik to accomplish during her time in space: 1. Test the method of placing an artificial satellite into Earth s orbit, 2. Provide information on the density of the atmosphere by calculating its lifetime in orbit, 3. Test radio and optical methods of orbital tracking, 4. Determine the effects of radio wave propagation through the atmosphere, and 5. Check principles of pressurization used on satellites. When the Soviet Union beat the United States by launching something into space first, the U.S. reaction was palpable. Public fear and anxiety spread throughout the nation, along with a sense of nationalism and pride. The United States must answer with a launch, or face humiliation and defeat. A normal program usually consists of an at risk teen visiting an adult prison to find out what it was really like to be placed somewhere they are unable to leave. The teen learns of the harsh conditions that real prison inmates have to endure while behind bars. Facility managers set up an itinerary for the teens to follow as they tour the jail and live as though they were prisoners for a full day. This would put the at risk youths up against an aggressive in your face confrontation with the inmates. They would get to listen to the inmate s stories and have a one on one counseling session to really hit home on how the next few years are going to be determined after they leave. The main reason for this revolution was the publication of William Wordsworth s The Preface, which was a part of the Lyrical Ballads, in which he stated his exact intentions for the Romantic Period of literature. This period exemplified the radical changes that were beginning to occur in Europe, as well as other places around the world. In general, writers of this period expressed themselves through the use of imagination and emotion instead of scholarly thoughts. In other words, they sought to use their inner eye in order to see the world around them more clearly and accurately. Also, they believed all good aspects of life came directly from nature, including the inherent good of humans as well as divine intervention. The writers believed that by isolating oneself in nature, he or she would be able to become more self aware and dependent. Due to this belief, the authors considered an important part of this period of literature to be favoring the individual self over society as a whole. Various parts of life could be included in this, but mostly just politics and social reform. Many poets were a part of this radical change in literature: Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Wordsworth, Jane Austen, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In his short story A Clean, Well Lighted Place, Ernest Hemingway, uses his usual style of elegant, yet unembellished, prose to depict one late night interaction between an old man, a young waiter, and an older waiter. The story takes place at a café in Madrid, during the era following the Lost Generation and is apparent, given the contrasting perspectives of the characters. The part of the story where the young waiter refills the old man s brandy with an agitated demeanor and the old man desires nothing more than to drink continuously, as he does on a nightly basis, illuminates the broader concerns of the of the story. This passage, although centered around the story s supporting characters, unveils the idea of nothingness before the reader s introduction to the word nada. Hemingway s A Clean, Well Lighted Place, is a revelation to the elaborate complexity of emotional fulfillment versus the existential crisis of spiritual and emotional emptiness, between the young and the old, throughout this particular generational gap. Throughout the passage, we see the young waiter go through a wide range of emotions, beginning with him feeling irritated, which becomes perceivable after his initial statement: a terse What do you want? directed at the old man (153). He then becomes condescending, telling the old man that he will be drunk if he continues drinking, knowing that he cannot hear him and that getting drunk is, evidently, the old man s intentions (154). Taddeo Introduction Located near Cowan, Pennsylvania, Conley Run is a tributary of Buffalo Creek that has experienced severe degradation due to agricultural activity. Specifically, the deposition of large amounts of animal wastes, pesticides, and fertilizers has resulted in significant eutrophication throughout the stream. Furthermore, bank degradation associated with the movement of livestock has caused the displacement of foreign sediments into stream habitats. These factors, among many others, have caused the lake to be considered impaired by PA DEP. In response, the Buffalo Creek Watershed Alliance, the the Union County Conservation District, and the Department of Environmental Protection and Fish and Boat Commision have partnered in an effort to restore stream habitat and create a riparian buffer to protect the stream. A separate tributary of Buffalo Creek, known as Stony Run, lies upstream from Conley Run. Since it is located in a dense wooded area with little to no agricultural interference, Stony Run has experienced very little degradation in comparison to Conley Run. However, Stony Run also shares a number of similar physical characteristics with Conley Run, such as discharge, watershed area, elevation and slope. Therefore, it will serve as a reference stream for this study. The objective of this study was to assess the stream habitat quality ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These men have the unthinkable decisions of whether a suspected murderer is given the death penalty or able to walk free. The jury in Twelve Angry Men made the most just decision they could. To understand how the decision they made was just and to explain some background, this essay will cover a few major ideas. It will talk about how Reginald Rose included the ideas of: reasonable doubt, being innocent until proven guilty, the jury system, and public defenders. Twelve Angry Men touches on one of the key principles of the American criminal justice system. This is the belief of the defendant being innocent until proven guilty. The idea is to give every person a fair trial that follows the rules set forth in the constitution. In Twelve Angry Men, a young man is on trial for the murder of his father. Many of the jurors jump to conclusions about the defendant s guilt because of his lack of wealth and his ethnicity. Several of jurors make comments similar to these people and kids like this are always up to no good (Rose 24). This shows an assumption based not on the person, but on a very broad, vague, and stereotypical view. The biggest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Goal Setting Is An Best Way For Students With Track And... Goal setting is an excellent way for students to track and improve upon physical fitness levels. The importance of being able to set goals and to try to achieve them is that each individual student can assess where they are and set goals to improve. Not all students can achieve the same fitness standards. Some students are born with more muscle mass or more fast twitch muscle fibers than other students. Some students have asthma or other physical difficulties that make it difficult to measure up with other students when all students are required to get a certain score on a fitness test to get an A. Using goal setting where all students can be successful by reaching their goals and showing improvement could be a positive influence for future motivation. While problem based learning can help students to learn and use goal setting (Hubball 2006), goal setting may not always help students to achieve greater fitness levels. Hill (2015) found that those students who set goals over an 18 week period did not have any significant improvement over those students that did not set goals on the pacer and push up tests. Similarly, in another study looking at the effects of goal setting on Native elders found only a weak correlation between goal setting and improvement on the amount of steps taken in a day using a pedometer (Sawchuck 2011). The problem with this study was that the researchers set the goals for the participants. It may be more important that students set their own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
