The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Western Way Of War
The direct annihilation of the enemy s forces must always be dominant consideration because
destruction of the enemy forces is the overriding principle of war. Carl Von
Clausewitz.[footnoteRef:1] [1: ]
Introduction
The heavy reliance on superior military technology, increase armaments, and understanding the
importance of kinship and culture are three significant drawbacks associated with the Western Way
of War. Due to limited militarytechnological advantages, disrupted revolution of military
armaments and strained the economy. The lack of understanding of the importance of kinship,
culture, and inability to change left the West at disadvantages in some countries, but also impacts
today s military. The Prussian Army, like other western armies, fatefully attempted to grapple with
the dilemmas of technological change. As armaments increased the Russian Campaign of 1812, the
war continued for beyond what was expected. The lack of understanding the importance of kinship
and culture has created some challenges during the time of war.
Military Technology
The reliance on superior military technology initiated and enhanced change in warfare for the West.
During this time no European state, Prussia in particular, fully mastered the emerging technology.
The Russian Campaign of 1812 illustrated limited technological advances. Technological advances
hindered Napoleon s preparation for war. Twenty trained battalions formed to prevent Napoleon s
Army from depletion of

Jesus, The Son Of Man
For numerous believers, the question remains curious of why the term Son of Man was used by
Jesus in self representation. Particularly intriguing is Jesus use of this identification since God s
attributes are not fully comprehended in scope or of nature in their entirety, save what has been
revealed to us in Scripture. Therefore it is humbling to realize that Jesusmakes such a firm
association with mankind. Combined with Jesus humanity there still remains distinctive from His
title, the means which He uses to address (Moule, 1978) Himself.
1 among those who still believe that it is Dan. 7 that gives it, in the Gospel tradition. it s decisive
colour. And what confirms me in this conclusion is among other things the fact that... Show more

There is some dispute over the nature of Jesus mission with how (Van Aarde, 2005) future events
would be shaped by Christ.
Scholars have divided themselves into three camps. Some say Jesus was a wisdom teacher and,
according to these scholars understanding 5, it seems that wisdom excludes an apocalyptic mind set.
Others disagree 6. But there is also a third option 7. According to these scholars, both presence
(immanence) and future (eschatology) exist within the spectrum of Jesus vision. This complexity is
interwoven with the problem pertaining to the continuity and/or discontinuity of the son of man
sayings by Jesus and those by the Jesus groups after his death.
I believe that the Daniel 7 linkage to Jesus use of Son of Man will justify an apocalyptic inclusion,
these facts do not disbar Jesus present or future activities.
Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek?
The case of whether or not Hebrew or Aramaic was used by Jesus in the utterance of Son of Man
is difficult to ascertain since Hebrew was used simultaneously in worship while Aramaic was used
in other daily living areas. Aramaic is considered the common language evidenced by the findings
of documents or fragments which proved to be items of textual contracts plus other written
documents of everyday life.
Consequently, all of these findings have been found to be written

The Sustainability Of Pratt Whitney Canada
In order to compete effectively in the current global economy, modern companies need to
successfully address three competitive challenges: technological, global and sustainability. Human
resource management practices play an important role in supporting companies to address these
competitive challenges. The focus of this paper is to analyze the current sustainability of Pratt
Whitney Canada, and to determine which human resource managementpractices enhance their
competitive advantage both presently and in the future. Pratt Whitney Canada (PWC) is an
aircraft engine manufacturer with global service operations and is a subsidiary of the American
company United Technologies Corporation (UTC). While many business segments utilize
PWC engines, the two primary sectors include civil and military aviation. With a workforce of
approximately 9,000 employees across seven Canadian plants, PWC has produced over 80,000
engines to date (PWC New Hire, 2014). The impact of PWC s corporate presence on Canada s
economy is reflected in the fact that it contributes, on average, over $2 billion per year to the
country s gross domestic product (PWC Economic Impact, 2014). PWC prides itself in being a
leader among leaders where, [m]ore than 10,000 aircraft operators around the globe depend on

The Court Case Of Gideon V. Case
[The United States, is it a country of deviant lawbreakers? Or is it a country of too many laws?
There were more than 12 million arrests in 2011, the question of how to adjudicate these cases
has become an issue for the federal, state and local courts across the country. The overcrowding of
our court dockets has become a major problem for court administrators working in every
courthouse in the United States. Why the courts are so overcrowded, and how the court
administrators, judges, and attorneys deal with overcrowding will be the focus of this paper.
[There are several factors that contribute to the excess numbers of cases in the court system today.
One of the influences is the Supreme Court case of Gideon v. Wainwright, 372 U.S. 335, a landmark
case, which ruled that under the Fourteenth Amendment states will provide counsel to individuals
charged with a crimewho cannot afford to pay for an attorney themselves. Prior to this addition,
Judges decided cases and the cases moved much faster through the system. However, the addition
of lawyers to each case and the need for trials grew, in turn the speed of the system slowed.
[Additionally, an enormous change to the system is the increase in crime. Evidence shows that
between 1982 and 1992 the number of people behind bars in America doubled to one million, and
arrest rates continue to soar (Moyers, 1992). There are several schools of thought on the increase of
crime, some attribute the influx of crack cocaine, and other

Reflection On Conflict
In this paper I will describe a conflict that has occurred in my life. It had a huge impact on my
second year of college and even today things still pop up from it, because I still run into each of
these girls. In this particular conflict between my old roommates we will review a course concept
involving the four phases of conflict escalation. Starting with phaseone, a perceived threat to
someone, followed by defensiveness, then stonewalling, and lastly contempt. After the conflict
occurs, one of the parties uses the course concept of face saving by portraying something that is
not really her true feeling. In order to overcome this conflict, I will discuss how the parties need
to mediate and learn to communicate efficiently, as well as listen to each other more. The course
concept I will use to help solve the conflict is a facultative method with a third party intervention. I
am also hoping to make a facilitating reappraisal, where it might be possible to reframe the
conflict. While discussing facilitating reappraisal we will dig deeper into discussing third party
intervention, which I believe both parties may need.
My rationale for this particular choice of conflict is based on the horrible living experience I
went through last year. After the conflict, my roommates continued to struggle to get along and
would argue over little things, when there seemed to be something deeper. It bothered me for a
long time because it also impacted me. Our first year of living together everything went well,
however it all started when our lease came to an end so we were going to have to resign. So my
roommates and I ended up picking a different town house in the same apartment complex because
it was bigger. The week before it came time to sign Kaia had said that she wanted a room on the
third floor. Beth at some point in time had said she wanted a room with a window since the
previous year she had not had one. Well, a week went by and the last day to sign was here.
However, Kaia got up that morning and went ahead and signed because she was going to be gone
all day bridesmaid shopping for her sister. When Beth went up to sign later she was upset because
she had apparently wanted the third floor with the window and didn t

The Consequences Of The Vietnam War And The Pol Plot Genocide
Over last few decades Cambodia has faced the consequences of the Vietnam War and the Pol Plot
genocide, which left the country economically despaired and nearly half of the population under
twenty years old. Cambodia however attracts many visitors from across the world for its rich
culture, fascinating temples and picturesque beaches. Unfortunately, Cambodia is also known for
sexual tourism and in particular child sex tourism. The international community recognizes
Cambodia s trafficking epidemic, which child sex tourism falls under, and the United States ranks
Cambodia as Tier Two on its Trafficking Persons Watch List. It is important to note that there is no
internationally agreed upon definition of child sex tourism which in return perpetuates the
problem. One may broadly define child sex tourism as the sexual exploitation of children by a
person who travels from his or her home region in order to have sexual contact with children. Child
sex tourists can be domestic travellers of international tourists.
There are several factors that contribute to the perpetuation of Cambodia s problem. In this paper I
will discuss the problem, why it continues, what role the government plays in the matter, what legal
preventions the government has set in place, and the best possibly remedies to fix the child sex
tourism issue in Cambodia.
The Problem Defined UNICEF estimates that there are about two million children across the world
sexually exploited each year. In Cambodia this

Brazil And Its Impact On America
Brazil is located in Eastern South America and borders the Atlantic Ocean. Brazil is very
comparable to the USA, being only slightly smaller in size. The economy is well developed in
agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and service sectors, and it has an expanding middle class.
Brazil was under Portuguese rule until it gained independence in 1822 and maintained a
monarchical system of government until the abolition of slaveryin 1888.
The African Diaspora is based upon a globalized notion of blackness and is a community and
identity for those who identify as black and see relation between themselves and others in the
Black Diaspora. Brazil ties into the African Diaspora because millions of enslaved Africans were
dispersed in Brazil. Brazil was the center of the European slave trade before it gained independence
in 1822. Rio de Janeiro and Bahia had more slaving voyages than any other port in all of Europe.
Brazil was consistently the largest home for slaves between North America and South America.
Instead of encouraging natural reproduction to increase the slave population in Brazil, masters
choose to work their slaves to death and buy a new replacement because they were cheap. Four
and a half million enslaved Africans were taken to Brazil and even today, just 125 years after
slavery was abolished, Brazil is still struggling with a form of control sex trafficking.
The African Diaspora has created a large culture of African Brazilians in Brazil. Many Africans did

Mad Cow Disease Analysis
Bovine spongiform encephalopathy is the scientific name for the disease commonly referred to as
mad cow disease (MCD). (WebMD, LLC, 2015) MCD gets its name because when a cow has this
disease it stumbles around and even gets demented or mad. (Chris Woolston, 2015)
This disease effects the central nervous system, mainly the brain of an adult cow. An abnormal
protein called prion is thought to kill the brain cells and create small holes in the brain tissue.
MCD is a disease that progresses very slowly and is fatal. (WebMD, LLC, 2015). MCD has
thought to spread from one cow to another by them eating food that was made from meat and bone
from a contaminated cow carcasses. (Division of Communication and Consumer Affairs,Office of

This disease gets its name from the German neurologist Hans Gerhard Creutzfeldt and Alfons
Maria Jakob that first identified this disease. (Victor, 2015) VCJD is primarily found in the
brain of the cattle. Abnormal proteins called prions have thought to be the cause of this disease
in both cattle and in humans. These prions cause tiny holes that look like a sponge under a
microscope. (Melissa Conrad Stöppler, 2015) Unlike most viruses and bacteria these prions
unfortunately do not die when exposed to heat, ultraviolet light, and radiation. Disinfectants that
are usually used to kill viruses and bacteria also do not work to kill prions. Even cooking the meat

Mckeel Research Paper
Does Mckeel really need a change? Football is as fun as it sounds, at least that s what you have
always heard, but is it really?. Football is a very enthusiastic game, it s one of the games that is
both fun to play and watch. Football is the most talked about topic in Mckeel, often people are in a
debate that should Mckeel have a footballteam? Or not? Students often support the topic of
having a football team in Mckeel. What they forget to pay attention to is that this decision can
come at a cost, both for your health and even for your parents money. Mckeel should not have a
football team because it can cause serious injuries, it s very expensive and it takes a commitment
of both your time and effort you put into the game. Football is a game that can cause serious
injuries, which can also affect you in the future. According to the National High School Sports
Related Injury Surveillance Study, More than 500,000 high school football injuries occurred
between the 2014 and 2015 school year, (Pros and Cons of Playing Football). One of the most
dangerous injuries players get is a concussion, a brain injury caused by a blow to the head or a

around the team practices, gym workouts, games, film breakdown and it makes life considerably
more hectic (Goldsmith). The hectic schedule can cause the players to lack behind in their classes

Summary Chapter 11 Apollo
Chapter 11: Apollo
The Birth of Apollo:
Zeus made love with Leto (Latona) and she gave birth to twins: Artemis (Diana) and Apollo.
Hymn to Apollo discusses the birth of Apollo in the first portion ( To Delian Apollo). Artemis,
however, is not mentioned.
Leto desperately looked for a hideaway where she could bear her child, but everywhere she went
the people feared taking her in. After a long search, the island of Delos took her in, but only after
she promised that a sacred precinct of Apollo would be constructed on the island, which would
make it a wealthy, prestigious and prosperous place.
Leto went through nine days of endless labor. Elieithyia came to her per Iris s request and she
came from Olympus to assist in the delivery.
Apollo was nursed with nectar and ambrosia and suddenly was a powerful god and he decided that
the lyre and the bow were his instruments and he would tell the word of Zeus to humans. Leto was
thrilled and Delos was prosperous. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were maidens who sung in various dialects. The poet is described as a man from Chios who

The Sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi:
The next part of the hymn ( To Pythian Apollo ) depicts Apollo s arrival in Greece he roamed
until he discovered the place for the creation of his oracle, Cria, at Mt. Parnassus/Parnassos and this
is where he constructed his temple.
After that, he killed a dragon called Pytho/Python and he is what they named the site after. Apollo
was designated the title Pythian and one of his prophetesses was given the title Pythia.

Plant Growth Of The Brassica Rapa
Background There is a drought in California which is in turn affecting the number of crops that
can be grown in a given amount of time. Farmers now must find a way to grow crops in an
economical fashion while also maximizing each yield as much as possible. However, plant growth
can be influenced by seedvariety, the amount of water, the soil type, amount of light, etc., and many
other variables. For this experiment, we are testing the growth of the Brassica rapa, a mustard plant
under the same conditions of water, sunlight, and oxygen, with two different treatment solutions.
There will be two pots, one has a treatment of just deionized water and the other a treatment of
fertilizer as well as deionized water. Because the fertilizer has the added benefit of nitrogen,
phosphorous, and potassium along with the same quantity of deionized water as the first pot, it is
hypothesized that both sets of plants will grow, however the pot with fertilizer will grow more than
the pot with just water treatment. In the Fertilizer Responses of Volunteer Longleaf PineTrees within
a Loblolly Pine Plantation: Separating Direct Effects from Competition Effects paper, an
experiment on the effect of fertilization on two trees was done. Before the experiment was initiated,
it was known that fertilization increases the growth and productivity of the loblolly pine tree, while
it was hypothesized that the longleaf pine tree is less responsive to fertilization (Anderson, 2009).

Loan Description Essay
2)Loan Description There are few researches studying the effect of borrowers loan description on
lending success. Martens et al. (2007) concluded in their report that a good loan description can
help entrepreneurs to get their necessary capital source for starting up the company. Many studies
have addressed one distinguishing feature of the P2P online lending setting: the utilization of soft
information by lenders. They showed that unverifiable disclosures by borrowers, and the richness
of the dialogues between lenders and borrowers tend to affect the loan outcomes, at least in terms
of the likelihood of funding (Iyer et al., 2009; Larrimore et al., 2011; Sonenshein et al., 2011;

How to extract text features from such a lots of texts is an essential part of our report.
1.3 Objectives of the study Due to the fact that there are few relevant researches about the effects
of loan description on P2P online lending success, this report will focus on the influence of
borrowers loan description on investors decisions in terms of final lending success, and focus on
analyzing the relationship between them, with hopes that findings can provide better advice for
both individuals and small sized enterprises who cannot finance in banks.
Also in previous studies, there are some differences in opinion of how each factor affect final P2P
lending success. For example, whether the length of loan description is positively influence or
negatively affect lending success. Hopefully, we will have our own explanations on the relationship
between various factors in loan description and lending success
Furthermore, by sincerely referring to the studies of other scholars, we expect to dig deep on the
existing issues of P2P online lending industry, and obtain a more comprehensive understanding of
the global P2P online lending behavior.

As a loan description is a supplementary text written and submitted by the borrower, it tells facts
about the borrower. Considering factors within loan description, we construct four hypotheses

Swing Band Essay
The swing bands showed a highly organized approach to performing Jazz. Fletcher Henderson s
band started the evolution that established the legacy for big bands to follow, both white and
black. Henderson s band merge into the sections we now call big bands, the contrapuntal lines
necessarily became more formalized and thereby less improvised. The first signs of sectional
activity appeared in the clarinet trios that is heard in Jelly Morton s arrangements. There are four
sections including, the sax, trumpet, trombone and, rhythm section of the classic big band. The sax
section includes four or five players who played in unison and soli. The trumpet section also
included four five players that played in unison or soli and were responsible for the shouts in the
shout chorus. A shout chorus is a climactic, energized chorus (theme/refrain) in a big band
performance, in which the saxophones, trombones, and trumpets play with a more complex and
spirited texture. The most common arrangement is having the sax section play a melody in soli, the
trombones play a countermelody in unison or soli, and the trumpets playing punches or shouts...

There was less solo improvisation in the big band formant than in the earlier Dixieland styles.
Also, there was less freedom in the ensemble passages for personal interpretation. The control of
performance details for ensemble passages had passed from the individual players to the arranger
or composer. The notion of composition in jazz has always been difficult to find. For instance,
Jelly Roll Morton s earliest compositions may not be clearly notated yet they were
compositionally conceived. The individual parts may have been left to the players but the
structural design was outlined by Morton. Overall, not all big bands had a great deal of freedom for

Analyzing The Psychological And Emotional Experiences Held...
Drawing on the information and researched gathered using ethnographic data, in groups we have
progressed from choosing between a hardware and scenario, refining the chosen scenario and
creating concepts to find a solution to the problems that have come up from the research on our
scenario context, documenting the journey to our refined context and concepts. Further
development and refinement of a concept is necessary in order to test and evolve it. This report

Ethnography is the study of cultural and social phenomena. It s is described by Brian Hoey as
something equated with virtually any qualitative research project (e.g., see Research Gateway)

multiple ways of gathering data are; observing a group in their natural environment and habitual
tendencies, video, questionnaires, interviews, photographs and many more. Categorising and

Liberal Arts Degree Research Paper
From the outside, it is hard to see why I would want to earn a liberal arts degree. Time and time
again, the lifetime earnings of workers who studied in the liberal arts are outpaced by their peers
who worked in engineering. These hard sciences of math and engineering are lauded as the right
choice for future success by ambitious parents and counselors, while liberal artsdegrees are the butt
of jokes. However, for me, a liberal arts degree means a lot more than just making money. It means
a global vision and universality across disciplines, as well as many future opportunities to change
the world radically.
The first thing Liberal arts degrees offer that other fields cannot is global vision. While I could
work all day in a laboratory or classroom and discover new organisms or new theorems, those
discoveries would stay within the scientific community and become a dead dogma of sorts, a truth
that is neither argued nor applied in the real world. With a liberal arts degree, especially one... Show

Visiting a Middle Eastern Grocery Store
For this project I was planning to visit some kind of international or ethnic event such a festival

unfortunately I was not able to find any kind of international activities around Denver area that
were scheduled for the end of March. Trip to the any kind of church did not sound very
entertaining and inspiring to me. I am not atheist and do believe that there is some kind of
superstitious force or god out there, but all the church visits and religious rituals or services

choice for this project was visiting Ethnic grocery store I got on computer and googled Middle
Eastern grocery stores in Denver . I decided to go with Middle Eastern store and not Asian or
Hispanic because I ve never been in one, and never really tried any type of Middle Eastern food,
but I do like to try different foods and love to cook. Besides that I go to Asian stores quite often,
and Hispanic stores are all over Colorado, so I thought they would not be so exiting to me. After
doing my research on internet I decided to go to the store named Arash , it is an Iranian grocery
store in Aurora on the intersection of Parker Road and Yale Avenue. I chose it because it had best

Travel agency is an axis of the tourism. The tourism is the result of the movement of the people
from one place to another and travel agencies generate the movement. So the travel agency is the
generator or a creator of the tourism. It plays a crucial role in the tourism as a brain in human
body. Without travel agency tourism will have no joint effort, no planning, and no programming.
Without travel agency a travel is possible but there may not be tourism. Agency create the trust,

Should Welfare Subsidies be limited to only the Social Security System? Social programs for
aiding the needs of the U.S. population are called welfare subsidies. Federal social programs were
first proposed with Theodore Roosevelt s New Nationalism, and expanded during the Wilson,
Roosevelt, and Johnson Administrations. There are eighty three overlapping federal programs
which vary in eligibility requirements. They help provide food, shelter, healthcare, education and
money to American citizens. These services are provided through primary and secondary education,
subsidies of college education, pensions for eligible persons, subsidies for eligible low wage
workers, subsidies for housing, unemployment disability insurance, Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program benefits, subsidies for housing, and health insurance programs that cover
public employees. The largest and most prominent welfare subsidy is the Social Security Program
and the second largest is Medicare. Aside from Medicare and Social Security, Congress allocated
$717 billion to welfare subsidies in 2010. That same year, states allocated $210 billion. The total
allocations for Social Security and Medicare were $1.3 trillion in 2013, which was 37% of the
total Federal expenditure budget of $3.684 trillion. Aside from government welfare programs,
private welfare is about 1.6 trillion, about ten percent of the total US GDP. As part of the

Diagnosing Charles Manson

Diagnosing Charles Manson Born into a life of poverty, despair, and recklessness, Charles
Manson did not have the greatest upbringing. His mother was a sixteen year old prostitute who
was unsure of who was Charles father. He did not have a father figure in his life whatsoever. His
mother was an alcoholic all his life who never sought treatment for herself. Alcoholism has been
deemed a family disease for a reason...because those dealing with family members who are
alcoholics tend to have harsh emotional problems. This can lead to destructive behavior

This is when a person has delusions of inflated power or worth, such as when Manson thinks he is
God to his cult. Because of the information and research I have thus far, I could definitely associate
Charles Manson with yet another diagnosis of a mental disorder. Using the DSM again, it shows that
the diagnostic criteria for Antisocial Personality Disorder is met by Manson. The symptoms of this
disorder are those such as failure to conform to social norms, conning others, impulsivity,
aggressiveness, recklessness, irresponsibility, and lack of remorse. All of these can basically be
made into adjectives that describe Manson perfectly. He never conformed to the norms of
society because he was always an outcast. He partook in abnormal behaviors. As mentioned
previously, he conned a woman out of $700, so conning people is another criteria met for this
disorder. While in prison, Manson would regularly attack prison guards and other prisoners so
aggression is met as well. He was obviously reckless and irresponsible considering he was a
murderer. When interviewed about his murders he showed no signs of remorse and even laughed
inappropriately. These are all symptoms of Antisocial Personality Disorder. The other criteria for
this disorder is that one must have been acting in such manner since age of fifteen, at least be
eighteen at time of diagnosis, and these symptoms must be present at all times, not just in
schizophrenic episodes (4th ed., text

Tinker Vs. Des Moines Essay
The Vietnam War a time where a lot of American s believed that American s shouldn t have been
a part of in the first place. Tens of thousands of soldiers received dishonorable discharges for
desertion, and about 500,000 American men from 1965 73 became draft dodgers, with many
fleeing to Canada to evade conscription (Vietnam War History). During that time there were
thousands of protestors against the Vietnam War On November 15, 1969, the largest anti war
protest in American history took place in Washington, D.C., as over 250,000 Americans
gathered peacefully, calling for withdrawal of American troops from Vietnam (Vietnam War
History). A case that is known in history forever Tinker v. Des Moines case was a very good
example of anti war protest and was proven to be an example of freedom of speech. Tinker v.
Des Moines case involves two main students. Others students were also involved. The two main
student s names were John and Mary Beth Tinker (Landmark Cases). They were from Des

problem with this case was there form of protest. They wore black armbands to their public school

their school found out about what they were doing they had an issue with it. When school

Compare Contrast writing lesson
The two works The passionate shepherd and The nymph s reply are very well connected even
though they come from different authors, However, both poems are very unique when it comes
to their attitude towards the subject. The passionate shepherd is a very upbeat poem that
highlights the positive atmosphere the shepherd believes he can provide for the nymph, If she
were to come to be with him as his lover. He has a very optimistic look towards the world and
expresses this through his use of the nature around him to try and win over the nymph. And we

The nymph knows that the shepherd is not committed to loving her as he has come so quickly
and has not even had a chance to really even meet her. She provides the realism that is needed to
help him understand why she will not say yes to his offer. Her view of nature is well affected by
her perception of time. She compares his love to that of the goods that he offers her, and how as
time goes on that they will begin to rot and fade away. Time drives the flocks from field to fold
When rivers rage and rocks grow cold, And Philomel becometh dumb, The rest complains of
cares to come. she points out how the rocks they would sit on will turn cold with the winter, and
the river will start to grow from the weather. the flocks of sheep will be brought in from the cold,
so all he promised will be gone in the end. She wants a love that will last, but his offer shows that
he hasn t matured enough to provide what she truly desires. Once he finds this she believes he
may have a chance, but until then he must hope to understand what she desires and that he will
experience some sort of positive change of himself. In closing the desires of the shepherd may
seem great, but they are rooted in some of the most unhonorable characteristics of society. Those of

Causes And Effects Of The Chinese Inclusion Act
Signed by President Chester A. Arthur on 6 May 1882, the Chinese Exclusion Act was the very
first law passed by Congress that targeted a specific ethnic group. It was specifically implemented
in order to restrict the immigration of the Chinese into the US as well as interdicting them from
becoming a US citizen. Until the expiration of ten years next after the passage of this act, the
coming of Chinese laborers to the United Statesbe, and the same is hereby, suspended; and during
such suspension, it shall not be lawful for any Chinese laborer to come or to remain within the
United States. (Act Sec.1)[1] Evidently, the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 was an event of great
misjudgment and blind racism as shown by its racial discrimination, unjust actions, and laws
/prerequisites regarding immigration to the US. Already facing racial and financial hardships, this
particular ban is clearly inequitable as the Chinese were only immigrating to earn money in order to
support their families.
A substantial increase in Chinese immigrants first commenced in 1849 when the gold rush in
California occurred. They were facing extreme poverty back in China where the Taiping Rebellion
caused mass famine and a substandard economy. In such a negative condition, many Chinese
immigrants came with hopes of finding wealth to support their families back in China. They were
exceptionally amicable, frugal, and hard working. Furthermore, they were willing to take low wage

The Practicability Of Consumption Led Economy
The Practicability of Consumption Led Economy Based on some basic statistics, such as per capita
GDP and the growth rate of the urban population, Fukumoto and Muto focus on the likelihood that
present day China is roughly at the same stage of economic development as Japan during or prior to
the early 1970 s. In the 1970 s, Japan transformed its economic growth model from investment led to
one led in a more balanced manner through investment, consumption, and exports. Thanks to the
transformation, Japan was able to maintain its stable economic growth after the high growth era of
the 1980 s. Thus, in order to duplicate the success of Japan in maintaining high economic growth,
Fukumoto and Muto highlight the importance for China to transform from an investment led to a
consumption led economy. This section focuses on analyzing the sustainability of consumption and
explaining why consumption is able to maintain China s economy in the long run. Lardy points out
that since the beginning of 1990 s, the consumption growth, as a source of economic growth, has
diminished substantially compared with other sources, such as investment and exports.
Specifically, household consumption dropped from slightly more than half of GDP in the 1980 s
to an average of 46 percent in the 1990 s. After 2000, household consumption kept decreasing. By
2005, it only accounted for 38 percent of GDP, the lowest share of any major economy in the
world. From the beginning of the decade until the global

Police Accountability Essay
This essay will describe the mechanisms by which the British Police are held to account, and
will touch upon the paradox of police governance, the balance of unwanted coercion of police,
financial stewardship and police legitimacy. This essay will also divulge into a discussion on the
topic; is policing political? There will be an argument for and against, and the advantages and
disadvantages to both sides will be conversed to achieve an accurate conclusion. In addition this
essay will start by portraying the significance of PoliceAccountability.
Police Accountability in both England and Wales, became a national political issue throughout
the 1980 s, the issues mainly alarmed those who had power over the police, who ought to
manage them and whether they were beyond democratic control. However, in recent years these
issues have lost some of their debate and accountability now focus on police effectiveness and
police performance. The police are to follow the rule of law and legislation (legislation is where
powers of police are derived) and are subordinated to the law. Police also have allegiance to the
crown, which serves as an alternative to the state, as a central organizing principle of government.
The model known as the tripartite system (shown below) conveys police accountability and is the
essential basis of police governance. It is established under the 1964 Police Act.
The tripartite system evenly distributes responsibilities between the following:

The only way is through the learning adapting with environment change within an organization in

interests, disputes often happen around the organization and cooperation is needed from each party
in order to attain the common benefits and thus pursuit to broader goals (Parasuraman, 2004). This

The contributions of industrial relations toward the organization including reduce company
wastage, reduce the occurrence of disputes, and achieve organizational goals (Importance of
Industrial Relations, n.d.). First, IR reduces company wastages. IR helps to maintain the
cooperation and recognition between employer and employees. Thus, both parties reach a
consensus in common interests and sharing benefits. Thus, the production flow will not be
interrupted and the resources can be fully utilized. Eventually, this will maximize the production
without wastages. Besides that, IR assists organization to avoid or reduce industrial disputes. This
goal can be achieved through collective bargaining. Collective bargaining is the written agreement
between trade union and an employer about terms and conditions of work and employment of the
union members (Parasuraman, 2004). In the process of collective bargaining, the dialogue and
communication from both sides will reflect the fundamental human urges or motivations that

Asian Pacific Americans ( Apa )
Prior to this course, I had little to no knowledge on Asian Pacific Americans (APA). After weeks of

uncommon from that of Latinos and African Americans. Since population in California today,

Although adderall is advantageous for individuals with the disorder, the drug is not recommended

The Disregard Of Human Life
The Disregard for Human Life Present in Wartime In Paul Rusesabagnia s, An Ordinary Man:
An Autobiography, he tells his story of working in a hotel and turning this hotel into a refuge for
over a thousand men, women, and children. He turned the hotel into a refuge to provide safety
for targeted groups during an ethnic cleansing. Rusesabagnia shows his view son genocide
during war, or the disregard for human life, by stating: A sad truth of human nature is that it is
hard to care for people when they are abstractions, hard to care when it is not you or somebody
close to you. Unless the world community can stop finding ways to dither in the face of this
monstrous threat to humanity those words Never Again will persist in being one of the most
abused phrases in the English language and one of the greatest lies of our time. As he possibly
implies by stating this, this quote conveys that war poses a disregard for human life through
differential belief systems concerning topics such as, racial, political, and religious groups; and,
this can be seen in literature relating to wars of all times. Although wars are all fought for reasons,
they all share a common theme of the disregard for human life. This common theme is experienced
through events like genocide or ethnic cleansings, and illustrate the extent that men will go to in
order to persecute others according to their beliefs. Through pictures from major events in World
War II, the vast disregard for life is shown by

influenced Wilfred Owen as a war poet. Siegfried Sassoon was an English poet, writer, and soldier.
Owen and Sassoon met when hospitalized for shell shock, also known today as post traumatic

revision in his poems. Sassoon had faith that Wilfred Owen would become a successful writer.
Sassoon being a successful poet helped Wilfred Owen get new ideas and a vivid perspective on
war. Wilfred Owen s poems were all based on war and he experienced war first hand shaped his

What Is Social Cohesion
Social cohesion refers to setting the correct mind set of the people to bond together regardless of
religion and race. Social cohesion plays an important role in a country as it brings peace and
harmony to the people. When there is social cohesion in a country, it was said that the people
often share the same beliefs and values. However, it is not necessary that their lifestyles and beliefs
have to be exactly the same.
For example, in relation to religion, it is possible that the people can pray to the individual gods
they believe rather than everyone in the community to be part of the same beliefs. It is what they
referred to as a social contract. A social contract defines as the understanding of the people in a
society that is able to keep up the certain standard for the well being of the whole society. This
includes being able to have the privileges of political responsibilities like voting and payment of
taxes. Also they have to make sure that they are up to the moral values such as keeping a high
level of respect as well as mutual trust for one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important example of communal harmony is the country India. It is the only country where
people are living in peace and harmony for a very long period of time. There were no fights or

leading to distrust and more unnecessary protests or riots. It might also result in injuries and deaths

The Battle Of Kasserine Pass
E.STATE THE MISSION AND DESCRIBE INITIAL DISPOSTION OF FORCES
The Battle of Kasserine Pass proved to be a shock both to American military forces in the field.
The defeat of the Allied forces in the battle put doubt into the minds of many all of whom assumed
the righteous democracies of the western Allies could not be defeated in the field by the armies of
Fascism. The defeat suffered by the Allies had nothing to do with right versus wrong, but was very
much a product of a number of operational shortcomings on the part of the Allies. Poor logistics,
failures on the part of American leadership, lack of unity of effort on the part of the Allies, the lack
of combat experience, and inferior equipment all combined to contribute to the failure ... Show more

The decision to invade North Africa reflected the triumph of British strategic arguments over those
of the Americans as the Americans were pushing for an invasion in northern France as early as
1942. American military leadership, however, was not sold on the logic or necessity of a North
African campaign. General George C. Marshall, the architect of American military strategy, wanted
no part of a US commitment to a Mediterranean campaign. The decision to commit American
troops in North Africa came directly from President Roosevelt, who overruled the advice of
Marshall and his military advisers on this point.
b.As the operation began, the Americans and British hoped the French would not resist the Allied
landings, and further expected French forces in North Africa would rejoin the anti Axis alliance. In
order to facilitate these hopes, the Allies designated General Dwight D. Eisenhower to command
the invasion forces. With an American general leading the forces, the Allies sought to restrict any
resistance from Anglophobic French officials and officers in the areas around the invasion beaches
and ports. Despite such measures, however, the French did put up some level of resistance at nearly
every landing point. Nonetheless, dissension among the various French factions in North Africa
limited the cohesiveness and effectiveness of the opposition. Ultimately, the magnitude and rapidity

Leadership Ingredient it states: Effective leaders don t have to be passionate. They don t have to
be charming. They don t have to be brilliant...They don t have to be great speakers. What they

a)DIRECT COSTS: A direct cost is defined as the price that can be directly applied to production
of goods. The direct cost classifies direct material, direct labour and manufacturing overheads. The

Character Analysis Of The Character Of Rex Walls
Do any of the characters in your book remind you of any archetypal characters (e.g., the Great
Mother, the Mentor, the Trickster, the Hero)?
Rex Walls (Jeannette s dad) reminds me of the trickster. This archetypal character likes to live in
the moment, and Rex definitely shows this in the book (Soulcraft). Rex is referred to as an
alcoholic, and he sure is portrayed as one. Drinking alcohol is his way of escaping all his
responsibilities/worries, and to just do as he pleases. The fact that he is an alcoholist shows his
trickster personality, as the reason for his addiction is to live in the moment and not care about the
future, or how it will affect others. A characteristic of this archetypal characteris that they like to be
funny and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows how Jeannette has this life living in poverty, sometimes without food to eat, and shows
how she becomes successful and escapes the impoverished life.
Compare the archetypal characters in your book to archetypal characters in other books, movies, or
myths. What does this help to reveal about the characters in your book?
Look for any archetypal symbols that appear in the book (e.g., water, circles, the sun, the moon).
What might they represent in the context of your book?
One symbol that appeared in the book was fire. There were various fires throughout this book.
The first one was when Jeannette was cooking hot dogs at the age of three and burned herself.
The next one was when they were in a hotel in San Francisco, and a fire erupted in the middle of
the night. A bit later in the book, the family was staying at a place called Battle Mountain, and
Jeannette and her brother were playing with matches in a laboratory. They mixed nuclear fuel
with some other liquids, and lit it with a match. This caused an explosion to occur, and set one of
the walls on fire. The most surprising fire in the first half of this book was when Rex set the
Christmas tree on fire (because he was drunk). This in turn burned up all the other presents under
the tree. Fire as a symbol in this book is very important. It shows the destruction of the family

Leisure Time Is An Important Tool Of Social Control
Introduction
Leisure time itself can be defined in many ways. According to Cordes (2003), the meaning of
leisure varies among cultures and that there is little agreement about its meaning and
implications... some see leisure as freedom from work, while others view it as an important tool of
social control or a symbol of one s status . We have all experienced leisure in our lifetime. We have
all taken part in activities we deem fun, exciting, or relaxing. The purpose of reflecting upon the
various ways we spend our free time is to provide reflection upon our lives. Free time is valued,
and by reflecting upon what we do with our time can help us find insight on whether or not our
free time is spent wisely. As I reflect upon my life experience in relation to Nash s Paradigm of
Free Time, I hope to gain more insight on how I have been spending my free time. I expect to
reflect upon the less productive times and make a change on how to spend my free time better.
Injury to Society Injury to society includes delinquency and crime. When I was in high school,
around 15 or 16 years old, I used to shoplift things from the store. While I did do these things out
of boredom, I had mostly stolen things for the monetary value. My leisure time was spent mostly
at the mall, with other friends who would steal as well. Eventually I did get caught, and fortunately
I was let off with just a warning. After that, I never stole again. The effect of me stealing as a teen

Healthy Eating Habits and Lifestyle
Healthy Eating Habits and Lifestyles

In today s American society, many individuals have developed unhealthy eating habits. A study
done in 2012 states fifty two percent of polled Americans thought that doing their taxes was easier
than trying to figure out how to eat healthy. There are many things that people look at as hassles to
healthy eating rather than looking at the big benefits healthy eating has on someone. Many people
think of these issues when they think of healthy eating the cost, the availability of the food, that it is
hard , they do not want to diet, and so on. Changing the eating habits of an individual ... Show more

Nate Miyaki gives an example, Of nine training sessions and thirty five meals or snacks geared
toward body composition improvement a week, that works out to about 20% accounted to physical
activity and 80% accounted to diet. Participating in regular exercise is very important but does not
mean someone should eat unhealthy. Eating unhealthy causes damage to an individuals insides.
When someone eats healthy they find themselves less tired and they also find that they have less
health issues than someone that eats unhealthy. When an individual eats better they feel better. Put
good in, get good out. So the better an individual eats the better, the more energy they have, the
more motivation they have, and they feel better as a whole. Within a week of eating healthy an
individual can begin to feel better on the inside. When an individual makes the change to eating
healthily they will notice that they feel better and have more energy. There are more ways to eat
healthier without having to diet at all.
A great food guide for an athlete to follow is the Canada s Food Guide. According to the guide an
individual needs about sixty percent carbohydrates, fifteen to twenty percent protein, and twenty to
thirty percent fat in their daily diet. Healthy eating is more than just about what an individual eats
and puts on their plate. Healthy eating is also

King Henry V Abuse Of Power
Established in the uncertain times of Elizabethan England, William Shakespeare presents a
glorious portrayal of King Henry V and his victory at Agincourt. Focused on Henry s conquest of
France, the play is a patriotic homage to a heroic king interspersed with frank moments examining
the realities of war. Henry Vexplores the king s attempt to establish himself as the sole repository of
political power, using the ideological concept of national unity to suppress any challengers to his
authority and maintain the image of a powerful, commanding king. The play offers an array of
themes and issues surrounding war including power, national unity, patriotism and leadership,
giving insight to a renowned English victory and king.

The play proposes that the qualities that define a good ruler are not necessarily the same
qualities that define a good person . Shakespeare emphasizes Henry s extraordinarily noble
leadership: he is intelligent, focused, and inspires his men, ...the fewer men, the greater share of
honour. God s will, I pray thee wish not one man more... (Henry, IV, iii, 21 22), to feel a sense of
national pride and propel them towards victory. He uses any and all re at his disposal to ensure
that he achieves his goals, such as the victory at Agincourt. Shakespeare presents Henry s
charismatic ability to connect with his subjects and motivate them to embrace and achieve his
goals as the fundamental criteria of good leadership, painting Henry as the ultimate leader. His
pragmatic decisions at Harfleur and Agincourt, his knowledge of the soldiers psyche and his
excellent choice of words at the right times are what gathers his ailing troops together to fight
with and alongside Henry. In the king s inspirational St. Crispin s Day speech, Henry aims to
bolster the morale of his soldiers ... God s peace, I would not lose so great an honour... (Henry, IV,
iii, 31) before they head into a battle that they are almost certain to lose. Henry demonstrates his
customary brilliance with words and astounding charisma, inspiring his men to win the Battle of
Agincourt despite overwhelming

user and 729.99 dollars for Samsung users. This shows the difference relationship between two
users. People who using iPhone pay extra 20 dollars for phone, where Samsung users pay less but,
for different models. Based on visualizng histograms I think there are more Samsung users than
iPhone because Maximum for Samsung is 849.99 dollars.
The data that I have is accurate because by looking at the histogram the graphs are perfectly
skewed and, the data make sense, if I compare the data to the median and the IQR. And to find
IQR subtract Quartile 3 from Quartile 1. The purpose of using mean value to see if the graph is
symmetric or not but, in my case I do not have symmetrical graph or Boxplot, because it is
sensitive to outliers. I choose to use the IQR instead of the standard deviation because it shows
what is below the 1st quartile and above the 3rd quartile. To summarize, median and IQR are the
best option because they resistant to outliers.
In resolution, the distribution of the data shows that iPhone users have lower cost to Samsung
Users because the differences between to users is

Heroes In Power Of Myth By Joseph Campbell
Heroes can be explained in many different ways. Heroes can be said to have specific features like
being ultimately stronger than everyone else, being able to use special powers to defeat their
enemy, or just being able to accomplish something that they themselves or other people thought that
they could never do. Through many years of studying different cultures and their historic myth,
people are able to come up with a theory on how many of the myths complete their heroic cycle.
Joseph Campbell has spent many years studying different cultures and their myths in order to find

is like family to me that I consider a hero is my elementary teacher. She is there for anyone at any
time. Starting at a young age, she was not always the best or brightest person around. She has
told stories of the things that she has done and the trouble that she and her friends use to cause.
In her late teens she decided this would not be the type of person that she wanted to be and
decided to change the way that she was behaving. She started going to church and found
programs that helped her change her way. After a while she started to reach out to her old
friends and eventually got a few of them to change with her. After a while of this she decided
she needed to help more people and more families and not just the friends and family that she
knows best. She started to go to college and became a teacher that way every year she could help

these children had mental problems from being switched in and out of homes and once she got
them she was able to fully understand them and help them out tremendously, then after a couple

  • 2. The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Western Way Of War The direct annihilation of the enemy s forces must always be dominant consideration because destruction of the enemy forces is the overriding principle of war. Carl Von Clausewitz.[footnoteRef:1] [1: ] Introduction The heavy reliance on superior military technology, increase armaments, and understanding the importance of kinship and culture are three significant drawbacks associated with the Western Way of War. Due to limited militarytechnological advantages, disrupted revolution of military armaments and strained the economy. The lack of understanding of the importance of kinship, culture, and inability to change left the West at disadvantages in some countries, but also impacts today s military. The Prussian Army, like other western armies, fatefully attempted to grapple with the dilemmas of technological change. As armaments increased the Russian Campaign of 1812, the war continued for beyond what was expected. The lack of understanding the importance of kinship and culture has created some challenges during the time of war. Military Technology The reliance on superior military technology initiated and enhanced change in warfare for the West. During this time no European state, Prussia in particular, fully mastered the emerging technology. The Russian Campaign of 1812 illustrated limited technological advances. Technological advances hindered Napoleon s preparation for war. Twenty trained battalions formed to prevent Napoleon s Army from depletion of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Jesus, The Son Of Man For numerous believers, the question remains curious of why the term Son of Man was used by Jesus in self representation. Particularly intriguing is Jesus use of this identification since God s attributes are not fully comprehended in scope or of nature in their entirety, save what has been revealed to us in Scripture. Therefore it is humbling to realize that Jesusmakes such a firm association with mankind. Combined with Jesus humanity there still remains distinctive from His title, the means which He uses to address (Moule, 1978) Himself. 1 among those who still believe that it is Dan. 7 that gives it, in the Gospel tradition. it s decisive colour. And what confirms me in this conclusion is among other things the fact that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is some dispute over the nature of Jesus mission with how (Van Aarde, 2005) future events would be shaped by Christ. Scholars have divided themselves into three camps. Some say Jesus was a wisdom teacher and, according to these scholars understanding 5, it seems that wisdom excludes an apocalyptic mind set. Others disagree 6. But there is also a third option 7. According to these scholars, both presence (immanence) and future (eschatology) exist within the spectrum of Jesus vision. This complexity is interwoven with the problem pertaining to the continuity and/or discontinuity of the son of man sayings by Jesus and those by the Jesus groups after his death. I believe that the Daniel 7 linkage to Jesus use of Son of Man will justify an apocalyptic inclusion, these facts do not disbar Jesus present or future activities. Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek? The case of whether or not Hebrew or Aramaic was used by Jesus in the utterance of Son of Man is difficult to ascertain since Hebrew was used simultaneously in worship while Aramaic was used in other daily living areas. Aramaic is considered the common language evidenced by the findings of documents or fragments which proved to be items of textual contracts plus other written documents of everyday life. Consequently, all of these findings have been found to be written ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Sustainability Of Pratt Whitney Canada In order to compete effectively in the current global economy, modern companies need to successfully address three competitive challenges: technological, global and sustainability. Human resource management practices play an important role in supporting companies to address these competitive challenges. The focus of this paper is to analyze the current sustainability of Pratt Whitney Canada, and to determine which human resource managementpractices enhance their competitive advantage both presently and in the future. Pratt Whitney Canada (PWC) is an aircraft engine manufacturer with global service operations and is a subsidiary of the American company United Technologies Corporation (UTC). While many business segments utilize PWC engines, the two primary sectors include civil and military aviation. With a workforce of approximately 9,000 employees across seven Canadian plants, PWC has produced over 80,000 engines to date (PWC New Hire, 2014). The impact of PWC s corporate presence on Canada s economy is reflected in the fact that it contributes, on average, over $2 billion per year to the country s gross domestic product (PWC Economic Impact, 2014). PWC prides itself in being a leader among leaders where, [m]ore than 10,000 aircraft operators around the globe depend on [their] engines to power their aircraft and helicopters...in over 200 countries (PWC Economic Impact, 2014). • 5. The Court Case Of Gideon V. Case [The United States, is it a country of deviant lawbreakers? Or is it a country of too many laws? There were more than 12 million arrests in 2011, the question of how to adjudicate these cases has become an issue for the federal, state and local courts across the country. The overcrowding of our court dockets has become a major problem for court administrators working in every courthouse in the United States. Why the courts are so overcrowded, and how the court administrators, judges, and attorneys deal with overcrowding will be the focus of this paper. [There are several factors that contribute to the excess numbers of cases in the court system today. One of the influences is the Supreme Court case of Gideon v. Wainwright, 372 U.S. 335, a landmark case, which ruled that under the Fourteenth Amendment states will provide counsel to individuals charged with a crimewho cannot afford to pay for an attorney themselves. Prior to this addition, Judges decided cases and the cases moved much faster through the system. However, the addition of lawyers to each case and the need for trials grew, in turn the speed of the system slowed. [Additionally, an enormous change to the system is the increase in crime. Evidence shows that between 1982 and 1992 the number of people behind bars in America doubled to one million, and arrest rates continue to soar (Moyers, 1992). There are several schools of thought on the increase of crime, some attribute the influx of crack cocaine, and other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Reflection On Conflict In this paper I will describe a conflict that has occurred in my life. It had a huge impact on my second year of college and even today things still pop up from it, because I still run into each of these girls. In this particular conflict between my old roommates we will review a course concept involving the four phases of conflict escalation. Starting with phaseone, a perceived threat to someone, followed by defensiveness, then stonewalling, and lastly contempt. After the conflict occurs, one of the parties uses the course concept of face saving by portraying something that is not really her true feeling. In order to overcome this conflict, I will discuss how the parties need to mediate and learn to communicate efficiently, as well as listen to each other more. The course concept I will use to help solve the conflict is a facultative method with a third party intervention. I am also hoping to make a facilitating reappraisal, where it might be possible to reframe the conflict. While discussing facilitating reappraisal we will dig deeper into discussing third party intervention, which I believe both parties may need. My rationale for this particular choice of conflict is based on the horrible living experience I went through last year. After the conflict, my roommates continued to struggle to get along and would argue over little things, when there seemed to be something deeper. It bothered me for a long time because it also impacted me. Our first year of living together everything went well, however it all started when our lease came to an end so we were going to have to resign. So my roommates and I ended up picking a different town house in the same apartment complex because it was bigger. The week before it came time to sign Kaia had said that she wanted a room on the third floor. Beth at some point in time had said she wanted a room with a window since the previous year she had not had one. Well, a week went by and the last day to sign was here. However, Kaia got up that morning and went ahead and signed because she was going to be gone all day bridesmaid shopping for her sister. When Beth went up to sign later she was upset because she had apparently wanted the third floor with the window and didn t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Consequences Of The Vietnam War And The Pol Plot Genocide Over last few decades Cambodia has faced the consequences of the Vietnam War and the Pol Plot genocide, which left the country economically despaired and nearly half of the population under twenty years old. Cambodia however attracts many visitors from across the world for its rich culture, fascinating temples and picturesque beaches. Unfortunately, Cambodia is also known for sexual tourism and in particular child sex tourism. The international community recognizes Cambodia s trafficking epidemic, which child sex tourism falls under, and the United States ranks Cambodia as Tier Two on its Trafficking Persons Watch List. It is important to note that there is no internationally agreed upon definition of child sex tourism which in return perpetuates the problem. One may broadly define child sex tourism as the sexual exploitation of children by a person who travels from his or her home region in order to have sexual contact with children. Child sex tourists can be domestic travellers of international tourists. There are several factors that contribute to the perpetuation of Cambodia s problem. In this paper I will discuss the problem, why it continues, what role the government plays in the matter, what legal preventions the government has set in place, and the best possibly remedies to fix the child sex tourism issue in Cambodia. The Problem Defined UNICEF estimates that there are about two million children across the world sexually exploited each year. In Cambodia this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Brazil And Its Impact On America Brazil is located in Eastern South America and borders the Atlantic Ocean. Brazil is very comparable to the USA, being only slightly smaller in size. The economy is well developed in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and service sectors, and it has an expanding middle class. Brazil was under Portuguese rule until it gained independence in 1822 and maintained a monarchical system of government until the abolition of slaveryin 1888. The African Diaspora is based upon a globalized notion of blackness and is a community and identity for those who identify as black and see relation between themselves and others in the Black Diaspora. Brazil ties into the African Diaspora because millions of enslaved Africans were dispersed in Brazil. Brazil was the center of the European slave trade before it gained independence in 1822. Rio de Janeiro and Bahia had more slaving voyages than any other port in all of Europe. Brazil was consistently the largest home for slaves between North America and South America. Instead of encouraging natural reproduction to increase the slave population in Brazil, masters choose to work their slaves to death and buy a new replacement because they were cheap. Four and a half million enslaved Africans were taken to Brazil and even today, just 125 years after slavery was abolished, Brazil is still struggling with a form of control sex trafficking. The African Diaspora has created a large culture of African Brazilians in Brazil. Many Africans did not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hymn to Apollo discusses the birth of Apollo in the first portion ( To Delian Apollo). Artemis, however, is not mentioned. Leto desperately looked for a hideaway where she could bear her child, but everywhere she went the people feared taking her in. After a long search, the island of Delos took her in, but only after she promised that a sacred precinct of Apollo would be constructed on the island, which would make it a wealthy, prestigious and prosperous place. Leto went through nine days of endless labor. Elieithyia came to her per Iris s request and she came from Olympus to assist in the delivery. Apollo was nursed with nectar and ambrosia and suddenly was a powerful god and he decided that the lyre and the bow were his instruments and he would tell the word of Zeus to humans. • 14. Plant Growth Of The Brassica Rapa Background There is a drought in California which is in turn affecting the number of crops that can be grown in a given amount of time. Farmers now must find a way to grow crops in an economical fashion while also maximizing each yield as much as possible. However, plant growth can be influenced by seedvariety, the amount of water, the soil type, amount of light, etc., and many other variables. For this experiment, we are testing the growth of the Brassica rapa, a mustard plant under the same conditions of water, sunlight, and oxygen, with two different treatment solutions. There will be two pots, one has a treatment of just deionized water and the other a treatment of fertilizer as well as deionized water. Because the fertilizer has the added benefit of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium along with the same quantity of deionized water as the first pot, it is hypothesized that both sets of plants will grow, however the pot with fertilizer will grow more than the pot with just water treatment. In the Fertilizer Responses of Volunteer Longleaf PineTrees within a Loblolly Pine Plantation: Separating Direct Effects from Competition Effects paper, an experiment on the effect of fertilization on two trees was done. Before the experiment was initiated, it was known that fertilization increases the growth and productivity of the loblolly pine tree, while it was hypothesized that the longleaf pine tree is less responsive to fertilization (Anderson, 2009). Many studies have addressed one distinguishing feature of the P2P online lending setting: the utilization of soft information by lenders. They showed that unverifiable disclosures by borrowers, and the richness of the dialogues between lenders and borrowers tend to affect the loan outcomes, at least in terms of the likelihood of funding (Iyer et al., 2009; Larrimore et al., 2011; Sonenshein et al., 2011; Herzenstein et al, 2011; Michaels, 2012). • 16. Swing Band Essay The swing bands showed a highly organized approach to performing Jazz. Fletcher Henderson s band started the evolution that established the legacy for big bands to follow, both white and black. Henderson s band merge into the sections we now call big bands, the contrapuntal lines necessarily became more formalized and thereby less improvised. The first signs of sectional activity appeared in the clarinet trios that is heard in Jelly Morton s arrangements. There are four sections including, the sax, trumpet, trombone and, rhythm section of the classic big band. The sax section includes four or five players who played in unison and soli. The trumpet section also included four five players that played in unison or soli and were responsible for the shouts in the shout chorus. A shout chorus is a climactic, energized chorus (theme/refrain) in a big band performance, in which the saxophones, trombones, and trumpets play with a more complex and spirited texture. The most common arrangement is having the sax section play a melody in soli, the trombones play a countermelody in unison or soli, and the trumpets playing punches or shouts... Safwan Siddiqi Mr. Williams AP Government and Politics, Period 2 March 28, 2015 Should Welfare Subsidies be limited to only the Social Security System? Social programs for aiding the needs of the U.S. population are called welfare subsidies. Federal social programs were first proposed with Theodore Roosevelt s New Nationalism, and expanded during the Wilson, Roosevelt, and Johnson Administrations. There are eighty three overlapping federal programs which vary in eligibility requirements. They help provide food, shelter, healthcare, education and money to American citizens. These services are provided through primary and secondary education, subsidies of college education, pensions for eligible persons, subsidies for eligible low wage workers, subsidies for housing, unemployment disability insurance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, subsidies for housing, and health insurance programs that cover public employees. The largest and most prominent welfare subsidy is the Social Security Program and the second largest is Medicare. Aside from Medicare and Social Security, Congress allocated $717 billion to welfare subsidies in 2010. That same year, states allocated $210 billion. The total allocations for Social Security and Medicare were $1.3 trillion in 2013, which was 37% of the total Federal expenditure budget of $3.684 trillion. Using the DSM again, it shows that the diagnostic criteria for Antisocial Personality Disorder is met by Manson. The symptoms of this disorder are those such as failure to conform to social norms, conning others, impulsivity, aggressiveness, recklessness, irresponsibility, and lack of remorse. All of these can basically be made into adjectives that describe Manson perfectly. He never conformed to the norms of society because he was always an outcast. He partook in abnormal behaviors. As mentioned previously, he conned a woman out of $700, so conning people is another criteria met for this disorder. While in prison, Manson would regularly attack prison guards and other prisoners so aggression is met as well. He was obviously reckless and irresponsible considering he was a murderer. When interviewed about his murders he showed no signs of remorse and even laughed inappropriately. These are all symptoms of Antisocial Personality Disorder. The Practicability Of Consumption Led Economy The Practicability of Consumption Led Economy Based on some basic statistics, such as per capita GDP and the growth rate of the urban population, Fukumoto and Muto focus on the likelihood that present day China is roughly at the same stage of economic development as Japan during or prior to the early 1970 s. In the 1970 s, Japan transformed its economic growth model from investment led to one led in a more balanced manner through investment, consumption, and exports. Thanks to the transformation, Japan was able to maintain its stable economic growth after the high growth era of the 1980 s. Thus, in order to duplicate the success of Japan in maintaining high economic growth, Fukumoto and Muto highlight the importance for China to transform from an investment led to a consumption led economy. This section focuses on analyzing the sustainability of consumption and explaining why consumption is able to maintain China s economy in the long run. Lardy points out that since the beginning of 1990 s, the consumption growth, as a source of economic growth, has diminished substantially compared with other sources, such as investment and exports. Specifically, household consumption dropped from slightly more than half of GDP in the 1980 s to an average of 46 percent in the 1990 s. After 2000, household consumption kept decreasing. • 56. Nt1310 Unit 2 Research When it comes to smartphones, people make choice which smartphones is suitable for them and, sometimes people look at who gives more feature. In this project, the populations is representing are Population 1 which is all iPhone users in Montclair State University and, Population 2 is all Samsung users in Montclair State University. The quantitative variable I will using is cost. I will compare this two major population iPhonevs. Samsung. Also, the I will use this variable cost because I will be comparing iPhone models like five se, six s, six s plus, seven and, seven plus to Samsung s six, s six edge, s seven edge, note five and note seven. This data will show; how much people spend money on this device. When I started to look and gather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The median for both histograms and box plots show that the median is 749 dollars for iPhone user and 729.99 dollars for Samsung users. This shows the difference relationship between two users. People who using iPhone pay extra 20 dollars for phone, where Samsung users pay less but, for different models. Based on visualizng histograms I think there are more Samsung users than iPhone because Maximum for Samsung is 849.99 dollars. The data that I have is accurate because by looking at the histogram the graphs are perfectly skewed and, the data make sense, if I compare the data to the median and the IQR. And to find IQR subtract Quartile 3 from Quartile 1. The purpose of using mean value to see if the graph is symmetric or not but, in my case I do not have symmetrical graph or Boxplot, because it is sensitive to outliers. I choose to use the IQR instead of the standard deviation because it shows what is below the 1st quartile and above the 3rd quartile. To summarize, median and IQR are the best option because they resistant to outliers. In resolution, the distribution of the data shows that iPhone users have lower cost to Samsung Users because the differences between to users is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They land on the vessel that has the weapon under lock down. Intel has provided the plans of the vessel that gives us the upper hand in the battle. Once the task force has reached the bridge, and taken out all hostiles they begin to look in the ship archives for the weapon location, But there is a problem. After numerous efforts it seems that the weapon is in fact not aboard the ship. Before the task force can react, 2 ships come out of hyperspace, a lower class cruiser and a command ship. We have been led into an ambush! The lower class cruisers begin to engage the Liberator. After failed attempts at stopping the forced annexation, the separatists have boarded. The ship defense proves valiant, fighting off the waves of droids engaging the ship from the bombardment. The ship is empty now, and we detach it from the Liberator. A hero can be at the burning house physically helping put out the fire, down the street putting their life on the line to catch the convict, or in the closest church spreading the word of their religion and how it has affect their life. Everywhere you go you can always find a hero nearby. The one that is like family to me that I consider a hero is my elementary teacher. She is there for anyone at any time. Starting at a young age, she was not always the best or brightest person around. She has told stories of the things that she has done and the trouble that she and her friends use to cause. In her late teens she decided this would not be the type of person that she wanted to be and decided to change the way that she was behaving. She started going to church and found programs that helped her change her way. After a while she started to reach out to her old friends and eventually got a few of them to change with her. After a while of this she decided she needed to help more people and more families and not just the friends and family that she knows best. She started to go to college and became a teacher that way every year she could help out at least another twenty kids and their families. For the past 48 years she has continuously helped out these families year after year. She has also reached out even farther and has helped children out by being a foster parent. Almost every year she would be given a child or two and has had to raise the kid for the year until someone was able to properly give them a home. Many of these children had mental problems from being switched in and out of homes and once she got them she was able to fully understand them and help them out tremendously, then after a couple months they were able to find a permanent home where she would send them and then get her next child. Time after time this was done and she has help more than a dozen children get through this and at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
